This party should be a stone-cold groove, just make sure there’s no jive-a** Republicans around to ruin the good time. WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will mark Black History Month at the White House with a celebration of Motown music. The White House says performers will include Smokey Robinson, Sheryl Crow and John Legend. The Feb. 24 event will be taped and broadcast on PBS March 1. The Motown event is the latest in the music series “In Performance at the White House.” The Obamas have hosted musical tributes to several genres, including jazz, country and Broadway. Mrs. Obama often hosts daytime programs for students to educate them about the genres and encourage involvement in the arts. The White House is gonna be JAMMIN’ when this does down! Hopefully our invite doesn’t get “lost in the mail”… Source

He says of the nation: “I see them as the enemy. They want to take over this country economically. They are not really out-competing. They are cheating. This ole knifed-up broad needs to sit her a*s down: Comedienne Joan Rivers revealed she once ditched a joke about First Lady Michelle Obama from her stand-up routine – because she feared she’d be accused of racism. Recalling the wisecrack to shock Jock Howard Stern, the comedy legend said: “We used to have Jackie O now we have Blackie O!” Rivers wrote the quip about President Barack Obama’s wife in reference to her fashionable dress sense and comparing her to former First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis. “I thought it was a funny complimentary joke when she first came (to the White House),” the 77-year-old comedienne told Stern. “I think it’s an adorable joke… I thought it was a compliment!” In the interview, Stern and his sidekick Robyn Quivers laughed yet questioned whether Rivers’ joke was racially-motivated. “Where’s the compliment in that? Not only is nine year old Sasha Obama cooler than your kid, she’s got more skills than you! President Barack Obama’s nine-year-old daughter, Sasha, wanted to test her developing Chinese skills this week while Hu Jintao was in town. Just whom did she want to practice them with? The Chinese president himself, according to a White House official who recounted the story on Thursday after a formal state dinner the previous night. “The president pointed out last night at the state dinner that his daughter, Sasha, is a very young girl but her class is studying Chinese,” Ben Rhodes, a White House deputy national security adviser, told a video conference with Chinese bloggers. “She’s under 10 years old and they’re studying Chinese, and she wanted to have the chance to practice her Chinese with President Hu.” Sasha attended Hu’s welcoming ceremony on the White House lawn on Wednesday morning with friends and could be seen waving a Chinese flag excitedly as her father and Hu walked around the grounds. So while you’re at home snacking on fruit snacks and sitting through yet another episode of Kai Lan with your kid, remember that little Miss Sasha is showing you up! Source
