The Bachelor Finale Promo: Good vs. Courtney!

ABC certainly didn’t have trouble coming up with a narrative this season. With the season finale of The Bachelor on tap tomorrow night, all of America is on pins and needles awaiting the conclusion of an epic morality play. The Bachelor spoilers have been right all season. Will they be on point Monday as the Black Widow does battle with all that is right with the world? Maybe that’s a bit over the top … but this promo blatantly uses “Good vs. Courtney” as a tagline for the conclusion of this controversial season: The Bachelor Season Finale Promo: Good vs. Courtney! As for what’s allegedly happened since The Bachelor season finale, the rumor mill has been working overtime. Reports of trouble in paradise abound. We won’t say whether Lindzi Cox (good, according to 80+ percent of viewers, and ABC’s promo) or Courtney Robertson (evil) got the final rose. Most people have a pretty good idea where Ben’s head is at, though, so follow the jump for the latest report on his current relationship status … Seriously, quit reading now if you want to remain in the dark: Okay. Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson, who allegedly get engaged on the finale, revealed they briefly split in February … but are back together. When they taped The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special (airing after the finale) in Los Angeles on March 4, Ben said he dumped her “abruptly.” That allegedly took place on February 7, according to Us Weekly , but the pair reconciled later that month “just as” he was allegedly caught cheating . The Us report was unclear whether Ben and Court reconciled “just as” the photos were taken, or when they were subsequently reported February 29. However, during the special, Flajnik swore on his deceased father’s grave that the three women he was seen canoodling with were his “old friends.” Even though Us says they met this month. “I had days where I stayed in bed and cried,” Robertson reportedly said, explaining that Flajnik didn’t even return her calls during the break-up period. “I was thinking he could at least send carnations [for Valentine’s Day].” It’s been a rough couple of weeks for these two. While the couple eventually reunited, Robertson reportedly told Chris Harrison she doesn’t believe she will be able to “completely” trust Flajnik again. During the After the Final Rose filming, Flajnik also reportedly admitted Robertson’s wedding dress shopping was a stunt to divert attention from him. “Once she saw the [ Us ] photos, she wanted to… shift the focus,” Flajnik told Harrison. “What better way than to go shopping for wedding dresses?” According to Us , the After the final Rose special concludes with Flajnik giving Robertson a new engagement ring. What was wrong with the Neil Lane? Nothing. But The Bachelor producers made her return the free ring that Flajnik proposed with during the finale after learning of the couple’s split. “I’m going to be there for you forever,” said Flajnik, who reportedly claimed to have purchased the new ring himself … you may vomit on cue. Again, we won’t know if any of this is actually true until tomorrow night, when it all unfolds on ABC. But it seems like a believable sequence of events.

Bobbi Kristina Brown to Change Last Name?

Goodbye, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Hello, Kristina Houston? According to TMZ sources, the 19-year old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston wants to take a step closer to her mother… by taking a step away from her father. Oprah Interview Preview: Sitting Down with the Houstons The troubled teen – whose family has been concerned about her since the passing of her parent, and who will be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey tonight on OWN, as previewed above – has reportedly been angling for a first and last name change for years. Her mother always denied the request, however. But now insiders say that Bobbi is thinking clearly, is in a “better place” these days and is anxious to distance herself from her controversial father. Based on Brown’s behavior at Whitney’s funeral , it’s hard to blame his daughter for feeling this way.

‘American Idol’ Report Card: Jessica Sanchez Owns The Night

Sanchez’s take on Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ brings down the house as the guys tackle Stevie Wonder. By James Montgomery Jessica Sanchez on “American Idol” Photo: FOX “American Idol” swung for the fences on Wednesday night — and we’re not just talking about Steven Tyler’s decision to wear his Roy Lichtenstein pants. The girls tackled Whitney Houston songs (borderline blasphemy?) and the guys did Stevie Wonder, and, after two hours of performances that ran the gamut from “startlingly great” to “shockingly unhinged” — with the majority falling somewhere in the middling middle — well, perhaps it’s best if producers reined it in a tad. Still, there were some highlights (Jessica Sanchez!), and with eliminations coming Thursday night (March 8) — though, in classic late-era “Idol,” they’ve added some unnecessary wrinkles to the proceedings — here’s our grades for the Top 13. Who passed with flying colors? Who flunked out in flaming fashion? Read on to find out! Jessica Sanchez: Showed some major stones taking on the Whitney song to end all Whitney songs, “I Will Always Love You.” Was maybe a touch too melismatic, didn’t quite get there at the end, but still … dang, girl. Tears and standing ovations both richly deserved. Grade: A Hollie Cavanagh: Pint-sized powerhouse delivered the goods on “All the Man That I Need,” including hitting that big, big note at the end. Showcased range, control and power — all that’s missing is some personality. J.Lo sees her going all the way to the finals, and if Cavanagh keeps singing like this — and loses the nerves — she might be right. Grade: B+ Joshua Ledet: Ventured outside his comfort zone with a strutting, cutting take on Stevie’s “I Wish,” and took us all to church in the process. It was a bit screechy in parts, but he made up for it with amazing hand gestures and newfound confidence. Quoth Randy: “You wore it out!” We’d have to agree with that assessment. Grade: B+ Skylar Laine: The fact that she’d never sung Whitney is not nearly as shocking as her newfound dark-horse status. She took on “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” and though it started out a bit nasally (and sleepy), she picked up speed and ended up more or less killing it. “Biggest moment of the night,” J.Lo said — of course, that was before Jessica Sanchez. Grade: B Heejun Han: He proved to be equally adept at both humorous tweets and gross misspellings of celebrity names (seriously dude, it’s “I-O-V-I-N-E”). His stripped-down take of “All in Love is Fair” was shaping up to be a slow-mo disaster, but he turned it around, and ended up putting his own silky smoove touch on the tune. We could do with less of his shtick, but the dude keeps delivering … and flirting with J.Lo. Grade: B Colton Dixon: Of course, was more than willing to take Jimmy and MJB’s advice to perform one of his own songs, and, of course, it was super wussy. He ended up doing “Lately,” which somehow managed to be both a tad flat and pitchy. Of course, only Randy seemed to notice. Girls seem to like his smoldering looks, which means he’ll stick around. Grade: B- Erika Van Pelt: Mary J called her tone “steak and potatoes,” though her take on “I Believe In You and Me” was more Lean Cuisine. Spotty at the beginning, she pressed on, and ended up with a fairly legit — if slightly bland — performance. It gave J.Lo goosies, which makes you wonder if they had the air conditioner cranked up too high. She earned a nickname from Seacrest (“EVP”), so she seems safe. Grade: B- Jeremy Rosado: Jer Bear put a sultry, supple spin on Stevie’s “Ribbon in the Sky,” and, in the process, made the most of his second chance. Sadly, Randy though it was lacking in “swag.” Can we retire that phrase yet? Middling reviews from the judges didn’t do him any favors. Grade: B- Phillip Phillips: His night-closing “Pimp Spot” turned out to be not so pimp, since he had to follow Jessica Sanchez. From the minute they announced the guys were doing Stevie, I knew he was doing “Superstition,” and lo and behold, he did just that. It was swampy, sorta scatty, and also sorta anti-climactic (and scary). Steven said he had a lot of “forget about it” in his voice … don’t worry, we already have. Grade: C Deandre Brackensick: Skanked his way through “Master Blaster” and showed off his ill falsetto. It was sort of forgettable, yet also kind of fresh at the same time. We’re glad Steven made the Naima comparison, since we didn’t think we were allowed to go there. Irie! Grade: C Jermaine Jones: The Gentle Giant’s baritone was on full display with “Knocks Me Off My Feet.” It started sort of bland, picked up steam toward the end, yet never truly seemed to connect. Quoth Steven: “That song fits you like an Armani suit” — that’d be a gigantic suit. Jones described his performance thusly: “I think I did a pretty good job.” OK, dude. Grade: C- Elise Testone: Ooof. Early attempts at “The Greatest Love of All” earned her the stank face from MJB, so (seemingly against her will) she ended up doing “I’m Your Baby Tonight.” The end result was a near catatonic, downright uncomfortable performance. Randy said she was “Boxing with the song,” and, well, she got knocked out. She seemed to come unglued during Seacrest’s post-performance interview, and for someone who claimed “there’s no excuse” for her spotty stint, she sure made a lot of excuses. Grade: D- Shannon Magrane: Seacrest introduced her as “The pride of Tampa,” though, after this debacle, he probably wants to reconsider that assessment. She did “I Have Nothing,” which was a pretty apt metaphor for her entire performance. Sure, she’s got a big voice, but she was swallowed up by the size and emotional wallop of the song itself — you know, because she’s 16 or whatever. She tried to power her way through, but ended up just sort of shouting. If Erika Van Pelt is “EVP,” she’s “NVG” — not very good. Future Returns To Atlanta For ‘Same Damn Time’ Video

It’s ‘more like a movie,’ Future tells MTV News of his new video while on set. By Sowmya Krishnamurthy, with reporting by FLX Future Photo: Getty Images For his upcoming “Same Damn Time” video, Future returned to Atlanta to capture “ordinary life, everyday life” in his hometown. When MTV News caught up with him on set recently, the rapper shared that the hood-inspired visuals, helmed by director Dr. Teeth, will be “more like a movie.” DJ Drama, who was also on-hand for the shoot, shared his enthusiasm for the song. “It’s crazy in the streets, it’s crazy in the club,” he told MTV News. “Future seems to be kind of flawless right now.” As far as Future’s concerned, “It’s astronaut status,” a reference to his mixtape of the same name, released earlier this year. Future’s buzz on and off the streets has been growing since his catchy hit “Tony Montana.” The gangster-themed and irresistibly repetitive song was so popular that Beyonc

Jeremy Rosado Sent Home On ‘American Idol’

As the bottom two contestants, the wild-card pick squares off against Elise Testone. By James Dinh Jeremy Rosado on “American Idol” Photo: FOX Capping a week of tunes from music greats Stevie Wonder and the late Whitney Houston , Jeremy Rosado was sent packing during the “American Idol” results show Thursday night (March 8), marking the first Top 13 farewell. Before the elimination was announced, the episode kicked things off on a lighter note as host Ryan Seacrest welcomed the contestants to perform Wonder’s 1977 hit “As.” And after all the introductions, usual Ford product placement and recapping, it was time to get down to business. First up on the chopping block were the female contestants, who were eventually narrowed down to the bottom three: Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt and Shannon Magrane. The trio of male contestants included Jermaine Jones, Jeremy Rosado and Joshua Ledet. Seacrest’s “after the commercial break” intensity ended with Rosado and Testone as the finalists with the lowest votes after Wednesday night’s episode. Leaving the deliberation up to judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, it was Rosado (originally a wild-card choice) who was announced as this week’s eliminated contestant. Asked what he would miss about “Idol,” Rosado simply told Seacrest, “Just the whole experience.” “This was awesome. … Thank you guys for everything,” he said. As a special guest mentor on this week’s episode, Mary J. Blige also took to the “Idol” stage to perform her new single “Why.” Additionally, “Idol” welcomed back season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina, who offered some Southern charm with a performance of her single “Georgia Peaches.” What did you think of Jeremy’s elimination? Phillip Phillips: Not Afraid of "Superstition" on American Idol

Did American Idol save its best for last Wednesday? Maybe not quite, but with Phillip Phillips closing the show with a rock version of the Stevie Wonder classic “Superstition,” it certainly went out on a high note. The song has been done on the show before, he acknowledged, but never like this. On a night when the contestants honored Stevie and Whitney Houston , most went the ballad / traditional route or played to the songs’ R&B roots. Not Phillip. Watch the night’s most energetic (if not the best) performance below: Phillip Phillips – Superstition (American Idol Top 13) He’s the “most different” artist they’ve got, according to the judges, and a strong talent to boot. P-squared should be a lock to advance after this … agree?

Jessica Sanchez Channels Whitney on "I Will Always Love You," May Be "The One"

Jessica Sanchez sang Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” on American Idol this week, and with it, may have established herself as the Season 11 frontrunner. Seriously. If Jessica Sanchez wasn’t in your Top 5 heading into Wednesday night, she is now. It was awesome, in one word. Don’t believe us? Take it from the panel: Jennifer Lopez: [at a loss for words] “Just, just amazing.” Randy Jackson: “This is one of the hardest songs to sing.” Steven Tyler: “You may be The One. You just made 40 million people cry.” LOL. Try 20 million at best, Steve … which is no small feat of course. In any case, listen to the nearly flawless performance and try to hold back the tears below … Jessica Sanchez – “I Will Always Love You” (American Idol Top 13)

Julianne Hough Got ‘Emotional’ For ‘Footloose’

‘It still makes my dad cry, so I think that is a good job,’ she tells MTV News of her favorite scene in the flick, which hits DVD and Blu-Ray this week. By Jocelyn Vena Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald in “Footloose” Photo: Paramount For fans who want to cut loose in the comforts of their living rooms, “Footloose” hits DVD and Blu-Ray this week, and it’s chock full of all the dancing, scandal and good times fans went to the theaters to see last year. When MTV News caught up with the leading lady Julianne Hough , she told us how anxious she was for fans to finally see the film. “We were ecstatic because I’ve been attached to the film for the longest; so the fact that we shot it and we had to wait another little bit [for it to come out]. So, the anticipation was huge and we were so excited when it came out,” she said. “It’s a cool feeling; the fans that loved the original, they loved this one, so I think that was a big payoff,” she added. “I was ready for it to come out by the time we shot it and did all the press for it.” And as Hough reflected on filming the movie, she recalled some of her favorite scenes. “The last dance — the ‘Footloose’ song when they’re at the dance — it’s such a good, fun feeling and it is iconic, so to be a part of that was amazing. I still love when I got to do the train scene, standing in front of the train that was so fun too,” she said. “I feel proud this is my first film and I got to go to an emotional place in the church and have somebody like Dennis [Quaid] and Andie [MacDowell] there backing me up; I’m proud of that scene. It still makes my dad cry, so I think that is a good job.” While fans will have to check out the DVD release to see what special extras made the cut, Hough teased that it may be a family affair. “I know that a lot of people that have had ‘Footloose’ connections are on the DVD,” she said, including her brother, Derek Hough, who played Ren McCormack in the West End production of “Footloose the Musical” in London. There’s even one possible deleted scene that she hopes fans will now get the chance to see. “There was a scene that Ziah [Colon, who plays Rusty,] and I did. It was a cheeky thing where I put lipstick on and I put my finger in my mouth and I pull it out and it looks very provocative,” she teased. “It’s pretty fun and I just remember that scene was hard to do ’cause when you’re doing car scenes you’re on a trailer, it’s so close, it’s not even funny, so I was so distracted that day.” Do you plan on getting “Footloose” on DVD?
