Jay-Z Shouts Out Notorious B.I.G. During Nets Groundbreaking Event

‘We did it again, Brooklyn,’ Jay says in reference to Biggie’s Source Awards speeches. By Shaheem Reid Leave it to Jay-Z . On Thursday, Hov was in Brooklyn at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Barclays Center, the future home of the New Jersey Nets , the NBA team he co-owns. When it was Jay’s time to speak, not only did he tell the crowd — which included Beyonc

Wyclef Jean Paid His Mistress $105,000 Through His Haiti Charity [Employee Relations]

Yele Haiti , the sketchy foundation that Wyclef Jean founded to help the Haitian people —which received millions in the outpouring of generosity following the wake of the earthquake there—paid Jean’s mistress and personal assistant $105,000 in 2008. That’s Zakiya Khatou-Chevassus on the right in the photo above. According to Yele Haiti’s 2008 tax return, which was posted this week by the Smoking Gun , the charity paid Khatou-Chevassus $105,000 as an independent contractor in 2008 for “program development.” That amounts to roughly one-third of all the money Yele spent that year on management and general expenses. So what did she do for that money? Khatou-Chevassus is currently listed on Yele’s web site as the organization’s vice president. But according to four sources familiar with Yele’s operations, in 2008 she served as Jean’s personal assistant—working on his commercial endeavors as well as his charitable ones—and was involved romantically with the former Fugees star. “She worked for Wyclef on all Wyclef matters,” says one source who has worked with Jean in the past. “She did whatever Wyclef needed that day, whether it was related to Yele or not. She would do things like book flights, and she wasn’t very good at it. It’s a shame that she made that much money.” The source said Khatou-Chevassus’ salary amounted to more than three times what Suzie Sylvain, Yele Haiti’s dedicated program director who is credited by many Yele Haiti insiders with actually keeping the organization running, was paid. “Everyone knows they were in a relationship,” says another source familiar with Yele Haiti. “A dozen people, including me, saw and knew. It wasn’t a secret.” Jean is married, but he has said in the past that he has an open relationship with his wife. Jean has a long history of using Yele Haiti’s money for his own commercial gain. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, the foundation paid out a total of $410,000 to commercial entities controlled in whole or in part by Wyclef , including a whopping $250,000 for advertising time on a Haitian television station he co-owns. According to internal financial statements obtained by Gawker in January , Jean didn’t contribute a single dollar to Yele Haiti’s American operation during the year he founded it, and its founding executive director resigned because he “saw hundreds of thousands of dollars going to business needs and nothing going to the charity, when it seemed that part of Wyclef’s new PR strategy focuses on his charitable endeavors.” In 2006, he demanded a $100,000 fee to perform at a Yele Haiti fundraiser designed to raise money for his own hometown. The event was canceled in part because securing Jean’s participation was too expensive. As the Smoking Gun noted, Khatou-Chevassus seems to have done some modeling in the past . The photo on the right above was taken at a 2009 reception she organized in New York for Prince Edward’s International Award Association. (Captions from photographs taken at the event that we found online identify her as the CEO of Carte Blanche International, but we’re almost certain that’s an error. All of the people we spoke to who know Khatou-Chevassus say it’s preposterous that she’d be a credit card executive; we’ve called Carte Blanche to ask.) A call to Khatou-Chevassus and an e-mail to Yele Haiti’s publicist were not immediately returned.

Michael Lynche Profile: ‘Idol’ Finalist ‘Plans On Being Around For A Long Time’

‘American Idol’ Top 12 cheat sheet looks at Lynche’s strengths and weaknesses. By Jim Cantiello Michael Lynche at the “American Idol” top 12 party Photo: Jesse Grant/ WireImage On Thursday night, “American Idol” revealed its Top 12 finalists for the ninth season of the hit show. MTV News “Idol” expert Jim Cantiello whipped up a handy cheat sheet for each finalist, breaking down each candidate’s journey thus far. He also got the “Idol” hopefuls to weigh in when he caught up with them at Thursday night’s Top 12 Party in Hollywood. Michael Lynche Michael “Big Mike” Lynche is like a cross between season three’s goofball Matt Rogers and the Velvet Teddy Bear, Ruben Studdard. On steroids. Not literally, since Big Mike is a personal trainer, not a juice-taker. As far as we know. Best Performance : Big Mike’s a rare example of an “Idol” contestant who shines brighter without an instrument. A confident take on James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World” was entertaining, but his go-for-broke version of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work,” which moved Kara DioGuardi to tears , was a game changer. Weakest Performance : Week one’s Jason Mraz impression didn’t win him any fans. He sang “I’m Yours” but he wasn’t ours. Not by a mile. Tragic Backstory : Big Mike’s wife went into labor with their first child during Hollywood Week. Extended phone call montages and conversations about her birth canal followed. We’re not sure who will need more therapy: his daughter, whose birth her dad missed because he was auditioning for a televised karaoke competition, or his wife, whose birth was documented in eye-opening detail by “Idol” cameras. Why He Will Win : Big Mike has a fun nickname, a newborn baby and a charming personality. Ellen DeGeneres deemed him the one to beat this week. If he continues to pick smart songs, he could muscle his way into the finale. Why He Will Lose : He’s likable, but in a TV host kind of way, not an “I wanna run out and buy that guy’s album” kind of way. What He Should Sing : Mike’s personal goal should be to make every single judge cry at least once this season. We know Simon’s mourning the loss of his dad. If Lynche turned John Lennon’s “Mother” into a soul tour de force, Cowell would lose it. On Being Called “The One To Beat” By Ellen : “I think it’s way too early for anybody to be ‘the one to beat,’ ” Lynche said. “It’s a long season. I plan on being around for a long time, so you can’t take any of that stuff to heart, negative or positive.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. The Precious Audition for Fat Teenage Girl Fetishists of the Day

Acting is funny. It’s like this is all made up. Bitch is sitting in a room talking to a woman and acting all hysterical. This is the kind of thing that gets you arrested if you do this kind of shit in the mall or at the drugstore or pretty much anywhere, but in Gabourey Sidibe’s defense, they showed her a bucket of chicken, two big macs and some chilli fries before this audition and said “read the fucking lines or you’ll never get to eat again” and hysterics, tears and bullshit ensued. Sure she’s an easy target…but don’t blame me for that…blame her pant size…if they even make pants in her size. On a sidenote she got cast on a TV show, but unfortunately for her it wasn’t celebrity fit club….if she doesn’t do something she is gonna die…but then again I’ve been force feeding my wife for a decade hoping her obesity would make her die but all it’s done is made her more annoying, harder to deal with and more disgusting now that I have to wipe her ass 4 times a day. On an influenced by the trash in Precious…here’s an inspiring story about teenage lust and love…

Michael J. Fox’s Wife in a Bathing Suit of the Day

People seem to care so much about these earthquakes predicting the end of the world that hit Haiti and Chile, but they don’t seem to care so much about Michael J. Fox, even though everyday feels like an earthquake to him…so maybe we need a Tsunami warning, cuz even I know earthquakes in water cause Tsunamis…. Except maybe today, because here he is in picture of Michael J. Fox following his wife of 30 years on the beach living large, showing the paparazzi that he’s still got it, but showin’ off his magic fingers, thanks to Parkinsons making him a human vibrator, behind her back, letting us know he’s still got it, without her even knowing he’s showin’ off his pussy…. If anything, I’m pretty sure he called the paparazzi, to just show off, clear things up for his disease, cuz like all disabled people, the public starts treating you differently, and forget that you can get good pussy, even if it married you before you were disabled and feels trapped and like it has to stay with you to not look like an evil person, but like my friend in a wheel chair, Michael J. Fox is all about milking the pussy he gets and making it clear that not everyone suffering from the shit is 90 years old in a home, but can be in their 40s with pretty solid bodied 40 year old pussy he just needs to stand next to to make her cum. He’s like riding the fucking washing machine… That said, part of me loves one-piece bathing suits, not because they remind me of little kids at swim class, but because sometimes they hide the stretch marks and unappealing shit a bikini doesn’t hide and I’ve got a serious love for anything that can touch pussy, tits and ass at the same time, even if it is just a piece of clothing. Michael Lynche Makes Kara Cry on American Idol

Casey James and Crystal Bowersox who?!? With a performance of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work,” Michael Lynche established himself as the new American Idol favorite last night. Showing incredible range, from an amazing falsetto to an impressive baritone, the man known as Big Mike brought Kara DioGuardi to tears. A lot of tears. She could barely get her words of praise out as she choked up. It was actually a very sweet moment. Below, we’ve ranked the eight performances from last night. Lynche aside, who was your favorite? Michael Lynche : So this is what happens when your wife is in the audience, huh? Casey James : Not his best performance, and we agree the Keith Urban song was a safe choice… but who else deserves this spot? Alex Lambert : You can stop with the banana references now, Ellen. Solid rendition of a Ray LaMontagne classic proves Lambert is simply a great singer. Andrew Garcia : The judges have forced him to get as creative as possible each week, taking his focus off actual singing, it seems. Can we all just forget about his “Straight Up” arrangement at this point? Todrick Hall : Points of taking a risk. But “Somebody to Love” almost belongs to the Glee cast at this point. We just think of them when we hear it. Aaron Kelly : Solid version of “I’m Already There.” We’re glad Simon shut Kara up about taking the song so literally and making it seem like a young crooner couldn’t take it on. Lee DeWyze : He’ll likely stick around, but our least favorite performance from this rocker. Tim Urban : Were we listening to a different version of “Hallelujah?” We didn’t buy him at all singing this classic.

Michael Lynche’s ‘This Woman’s Work’ Brings Kara To Tears On ‘American Idol’

Simon Cowell dubbed it ‘the best performance we’ve had of all these live shows so far.’ By Gil Kaufman Michael Lynche Photo: Fox Praise from the “American Idol” judges is one thing, but tears? That’s when you know you’ve really nailed it. And big Michael Lynche definitely brought down the house Wednesday night (March 10) when he closed the top eight men’s live performances with a seductive, between-the-sheets cover of one of British singer Kate Bush’s most iconic tunes, “This Woman’s Work,” that made judge Kara DioGuardi openly weep. Wearing a black suit coat with a red pocket square, black tie, jeans and a white dress shirt, the brawny Lynche opened with a fragile, operatic falsetto vocalization over piano that sent chills. The choice was a bold one, as Bush is a beloved figure and the song is a tricky-to-sing modern classic has been used to dramatic effect in a number of TV shows over the years (“Felicity,” “Alias,” “Party of Five”). It was also famously covered by soul singer Maxwell on his 1997 MTV Unplugged album and later on his 2001 Now studio album, a version that clearly informed Lynche’s take on the song. Bush wrote it specifically for a sequence in the 1987 John Hughes film “She’s Having a Baby,” during which Kevin Bacon is pacing outside the delivery room where his wife is having their first child and he’s fretting about the changes they’re about to face and the rush of emotions he’s feeling. Making expert use of his breathy falsetto, Lynche, a new father whose firstborn arrived while he was toiling during Hollywood Week, wrenched every bit of emotion from the lyrics about life-changing events. “Ooh, it’s hard on the man/ Now his part is over/ Now starts the craft of the father,” he crooned in a clean, clear voice. On a night when the judges said some of the singers didn’t connect with their chosen lyrics, Lynche astutely picked a song that mirrored the tumultuous adult changes he’s going through in his personal life, helping to give the performance an added gravity and believability. As he leaned into the second verse, Lynche came out from behind the mic stand and began laying a gospel edge on the song, shaking his head and shoulders, bobbing up and down and waving his hands as if giving a Sunday sermon. With a long, sustained note on the line “Oh, darling, make it go,” Lynche provided the night’s much-needed “wow” moment and easily punched his ticket to the top 12. How good was it? DioGuardi was literally brought to tears. “I’ve never cried after hearing something like that,” she said, her voice cracking with emotion. “It’s amazing. You were amazing. And it’s so relevant for you, and I can feel it. It’s your life right now. It’s your respect for your wife, what you’ve gone through … and as a woman who doesn’t have a child, I can relate to it so much and it brought me to tears.” All Randy Jackson could say was, “Really?” telling Mike he was going to put Maxwell on notice that he should watch his back. “For everybody that doesn’t know, it was dope, it was unbelievable,” he said. “I wanna call Maxwell and tell him, ‘Yo, big Mike is knockin’ on the door, dog, be ready! But the last note? … I was like, what?” Ellen DeGeneres said it was so good it felt like the show had just begun and Lynche was suddenly the one to beat. “This was so needed tonight,” Simon Cowell said of the breath of fresh air on an otherwise-boring show. “You come out with an incredibly difficult song to sing and you 100 percent nailed it. Not just the best performance of the night, it’s the best performance we’ve had of all these live shows so far.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Tracey P. Keaton’s Mom Body in a Bikini of the Day

I’m so hungover, I can’t stop shaking…no wait…I’m not shaking…I’m just looking at pictures of Michael J. Fox and I think that I am cuz he is, I’m sure he gets that all the time…you know people who are talking to him who don’t know he’s the youngest man in history to have parkinsons, and as he vibrates like a human sex toy that has kept his wife around the last 15 years he’s had the disease, because she realized a disability, if looked at in the right way can be a serious ability, or maybe this is just one of Hollywood’s great love stories, of a couple who dated on set of an 80s sitcom, who haven’t left each other’s side since, because they are soul mates, or because his wife is maternal and can’t leave a motherfucker just cuz he got sick and has been progressively getting worse like some kind of saint who really just doesn’t want to look evil, like his disease has her trapped, kinda like when I used to want to get AIDS to give to this hot girl so she would never leave my side, but a little less psycho… See, I’ve got nothing but love for Michael J. Fox. I feel for him for being so fucked up at such a young age, like an 80 year old in a 40 year old’s body or some shit but at least he’s living the good life on the beach in St Barth, but more importantly, at least his wife has maintained a pretty fucking good body into her forties, despite being a mom and having stopped acting to be a mom. It always impresses me when women with kids and husbands aren’t disgusting and fat. Maybe it’s cuz I’m not used to it…. As a bonus, here’s a little clip of Michael J. Fox scoring Tracey on Family Ties, this is where the love all started and like all great romantic moments, this song seems to come to mind whenever I’m thinking about rape. Inspiring. Either way, here is the happy couple on the beach… Pics via Fame
