Nah Remy Ma, It’s Not OK For Non-Blacks Folks To Use The N-Word

Source: Santiago Felipe / Getty Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago when Remy Ma did the absolute most saying that she believed racism was behind Bill Cosby’s  2018 rape conviction and that not all of the 60-plus women accusing the fallen star of sexual assault were telling the truth? Well, apparently she’s back with more utter nonsense. This time’s she addressing the N-word and how she believes that non-Black folks can totally say ni$%a with no consequence. Apparently during a recent taping of the popular Revolt TV show  State of the Culture , the topic turned to Latino (but white-looking) rapper  Lil Xan, who recently got caught yelling the N-Word at a man in an Indianapolis mall food court. “I’m rich ni**a, I’m rich,” he screamed in a video TMZ published. “You broke ass b*tch!” Other folks on the panel including Scottie Beam and Brandon Jenkins weren’t here for the tomfoolery. Scottie said a word stressing that “Everybody wants to be an n***a until they’re a n***a.” But given Remy’s recent basic and contrarian behavior, to no one’s surprise, she had a different take. “I don’t usually get offended, regardless of what your nationality is if I feel like you’re not using it as a racial slur,” she said. “I hear it so frequently from people who aren’t black people. Like Fat Joe, he’s the blackest Spanish guy on this planet earth and I’ve never questioned did it.” Yeah, she tried it. SIGH…GIRL, WHET? Given the amount of nonsense here, there is a lot to unpack. Listen…I get that as African-Americans, we don’t all see eye to eye on whether we should use ni**a with one another or about one another, given the white supremacist nature of where the word derived from. While some of us, especially those in hip-hop, believe that we have reappropriated the term, stripping it of its negative connotation and making it ours, others continue to see it as a destructive racial slur and a means of bringing us down as a people. But even in that age-old debate, at least most of us (minus Black folks like Kanye  and Stacey Dash  pandering for white approval), can agree that whether or not Black folks choose to use the word, IT’S ONLY FOR US TO USE. POINT, BLANK, PERIOD. That simple philosophy is as understood as leaving your Pops the big piece of chicken, but for whatever reason this cultural norm refuses to register on Ms. Remy’s radar. But let me be clear: Regardless of whether artists, including those of color such as Fat Joe have been heavily influenced by Black culture and surround themselves with Black people, I could care less if you don’t think non-Black folks aren’t using the n-word as a slur. Why are they using the word at all? Better yet, what about you not being Black, or claiming your Blackness, makes you feel entitled to use the word in the first place? That, and quiet as it’s kept, it’s exhausting to witness folks bite off our culture for monetary gain and street cred, then simultaneously harbor anti-Black sentiment and co-sign of colorism as too many of us sit back and smile, saying nothing. But let Remy tell it, if it’s her homies and they “Black” in her eyes, it’s OK. No ma’am. You’ve let folks get too comfortable and we cannot afford for people to be this damn comfortable, especially living in Trump’s America. It’s become even more crucial for us to put our foot down on this issue, which includes you too Remy. Yes, we love you sis, but you’re one slip-up like away from joining the #CancelKanye tour if you don’t get it together. So please, stop giving non-Black folks a pass to use the n-word. We’re begging you. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson: Will They Get Back Together?!

Star-struck millennial heart throbs Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson made ALL the headlines with their whirlwind romance this year. They were head over heels in love, no doubt about it. But all good things, as the saying goes, must come to an end in a matter of months. Blindsiding a nation, Ariana and Pete called off their engagement this weekend and one saw it coming … okay, not the case. We all saw it coming. But does that mean it’s over for good? Or is it a break that will do them some good, and lead them to a better place? That’s the million-dollar question THG’s staff debates below. Read our hot takes on this hot couple and then hit the comments below! YES by Emily Trainham Love is real, and that is a fact. And the cool thing about facts is that even if you don’t believe personally believe in them, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Ariana and Pete love each other. And you’re dang right that’s in the present tense. Do people get engaged after just a few weeks of dating if they don’t love each other? Do people adopt pigs together if they do not love each other?!  Do people get multiple tattoos dedicated to their significant other if they don’t love each other?  OK, sure, love is not a requirement for any of these things … you can be mentally unstable and do all of them just fine. But Ariana and Pete did them out of love, and that’s just a fact. Listen to “Pete Davidson” on Ariana’s new album and try to say it’s not. They just broke up, and that’s unfortunate, but sometimes the greatest romances take some time to come together, and it’s obvious that now is not the best time for Ariana.  She still seems to be reeling from the death of Mac Miller, and it’s likely that she’s still dealing with the trauma from the Manchester bombing as well. So maybe she needs to take some time to heal. Maybe a few months, maybe a few years. Maybe she’ll date around during that time, and maybe Pete will, too. But as she sang in her song dedicated to him, he’s her soulmate. And soulmates are forever. Their time will come, but sadly, their time is not now. Keep the faith, Grandson lovers.  Love shall prevail. NO by Hilton Hater Neither Pete Davidson nor Ariana Grande were involved in THE MOST DRAMATIC ROSE CEREMONY of all-time… but their relationship has still followed the trajectory of those who get together on The Bachelor. The comedian and the artist were never dating in a traditional sense of the term. They went out. They goofed around. They got all silly on social media. They were almost, literally, a walking Saturday Night Live skit. It was all cute and fun and we’re sure quite enjoyable for Davidson and Grande, but then real life interjected: Mac Miller died of a drug overdose . Sources have all indicated that Grande (understandably) took the death of her ex-boyfriend very hard. Ariana’s been in a dark place for about a month now. Such a trauma could spell the end of many relationships, but especially one such as this; one essentially built on partying and cosplay. There’s simply no sturdy base here for anything as dramatic as a loved one’s death. Mix in the awkwardness of that loved one being Grande’s previous serious boyfriend… and here we are. Davidson may be equipped with a 10-inch long penis, but he simply isn’t equipped with the emotional maturity to deal with a tragedy of this nature. YES by Simon Delott This summer, in the wake of Ariana’s engagement to Pete Davidson , I was so confident that they would stay together. Now, I’m eating crow. I didn’t see this coming. “Sociologists at NYU used decades of statistical data from 4,500 families and found that couples in which the man was much taller than the woman were more likely to stay together,” I wrote at the time. “Folks, Ariana Grande is 5 feet tall. Pete Davidson is 6-foot-3,” I continued. “Those 15 inches could see them through to the end.” We all know that the best way to discuss love and romance is using cold hard numbers and statistical analysis. I’m not sure where I went wrong. After all, if a spur-of-the-moment relationship between a pop star with baggage and a comedian who’s never met an impulse on which he didn’t act can’t work out … what hope is there for the rest of us? In all seriousness, though, the cause of their breakup was reportedly largely Mac Miller’s tragic death earlier this fall. The passing of Ariana’s very recent ex, so soon after her return to the public eye, left her wounded. It was all too much. But that doesn’t mean that these two won’t ever get together again. They’re both still young, and it sounds like this breakup was as amicable as a dropped engagement can possibly be. My real question is this: Is Ariana going to sing the song, “Pete Davidson,” when she goes on tour in the future? There’s no non-awkward way to either sing or skip that song unless they get back together. Just saying. NO. by Tyler Johnson No. The relationship between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson was doomed from the start. After all, how could a singer with a four-octave vocal range ever relate to a comic whose style is so painfully one-note? Let’s forget for a moment that Pete mocked the Manchester bombing that traumatized Ariana and so many of her fans. And let’s ignore, for now, the fact that Davidson said he sympathizes with the man who groped Grande or that he beamed with pride over the fact that Bill Clinton ogled Ari at a freakin’ funeral. (As a guy with a Hillary Clinton tattoo, that must have been an extremely confusing time for Pete.) What we’re focusing on today is the fact that Grande is clearly a woman who’s drawn to virtuoso talent, and despite spending the past four years in the best comedy college imaginable, Davidson (rather ironically) comes up short when his abilities are compared to Ariana’s. On a more serious note, insiders have claimed that the breakup was at least partially the result of Ariana’s grief over the death of her previous boyfriend, the immensely gifted Mac Miller. There’s been a lot of talk about Pete and Ari’s perceived insensitivity toward their exes in publicly admitting that they’d secretly longed for each other for years (in other words, since well before they were single). To be clear, both parties’ duties to their exes ended the moment they broke things off – but who wants to live in a world where we’re all just fulfilling our minimum obligations to one another? It’s not hard to see how Ariana might have wound up with some seriously conflicted feelings – as well as some major doubts – in the wake of Miller’s overdose. But in the end, out guess is that a talent gap wider than Pete and Ariana’s height difference also played a significant role in bringing this ill-fated romance to a halt. Stacey Abrams May Be Reason Why Georgia’s Black Voters Want More Absentee Ballots

See the article here:

B lack voters are requesting absentee ballots at a high rate, creating an upswell that hasn’t happened in the state since Barack Obama ‘s 2008 presidential election, state county elections offices said. The reason for the increase may be because of  Stacey Abrams  and her historic bid for governor. RELATED:  Georgia Removed Scores Of Voter From Its Rolls As Stacey Abrams Tries To Make History, Lawsuit Says As the midterm election approaches, African-American voters continue to overwhelmingly show their support for Abrams, who could become the first Black female governor in the nation. Their support for Abrams has grown as the group, who make up nearly 30 percent of Georgia’s electorate, have asked for more absentee ballots. As of now, Black voters are responsible for 41.9 percent of absentee ballot requests, according to the GeorgiaVotes.com website, which compiles data released by the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office. Requests for absentee ballots are reportedly being made at a record 131 percent higher this year than in the 2014 midterm elections,  WSB-TV   reported. The record is also noteworthy in considering that it’s a year with no presidential election. Georgia sees surge of absentee ballot requests from black voters: report https://t.co/tpMwzGKga9 pic.twitter.com/Xf4zY1JjJE — The Hill (@thehill) October 10, 2018 “We could actually see Stacey Abrams become governor of Georgia at a time we’re seeing roughly half of the people who have turned in absentee ballots are people of color. That’s a really good sign for Stacey Abrams,” Democratic Strategist Tharon Johnson said. The record number of absentee ballots makes it clear that Black voters are going all out with exercising their right to vote in the state. Abrams, who will face off against her Republican challenger Brian Kemp next month, may soon be swept to another victory because of—or in large part due to—voters of colors. Jinger Duggar’s Daughter Survives First Ridiculous "Scandal"

Last week,  Jinger Duggar was accused of cultural appropriation for wrapping her daughter’s head in fabric in order to keep it warm while the family attended a Chicago Cubs game. The situation was annoying for a number of reasons. For starters, these are the Duggars we’re talking about. If you want to complain about an ignorant habit or a questionable child-rearing practice, they give you so much good material to work with. There’s really no need to go nit-picking. On top of that, since when is there a specific culture that owns the exclusive rights to wrapping babies up in fabric to keep them warm? By that logic, Jinger and her ilk can and should accuse Scientologists of cultural approporiation. After all, far-right evangelicals were weirding people out with their extremist beliefs decades before L. Ron Hubbard was even born. Anyway, when you slam the Duggars for perfectly normal behavior, you reinforce their belief that they’re simply being persecuted for their religious convictions. Worse, you distract from the actual shady practices the family engages in on a regular basis. And as you can see from the photo below, Jinger is not the slightest bit concerned about the uproar over her baby girl’s headgear. That’s a pic Jinger posted on Monday. The proud new mom captioned the image, “So smiley!” Her head is wrapped in a fashion that’s identical to the Wrigley Field pic, and it looks as though neither Jinger or Felicity are losing any sleep over the uproar. In fact, Jinger probably received a monetary bonus from Jim Bob this month. Every time something like this happens, it strengthens the Duggars’ argument that the public will find fault with everything they do. So now, when there’s another legitimate Duggar scandal — and we’re about due for a big one — Jim Bob can point to this situation and be all: “[Self-righteous sigh] This is just like that time everyone freaked out on Jinger’s baby for wearing a scarf.” The worst part is, this “scandal” is probably the result of 8-10 very vocal nitwits who get a weird high from being mad online. This has been yet another installment of “Society: It Just Wasn’t Ready For the Internet.” View Slideshow: Jinger Duggar Asserts Her Independence: I’m a Vuolo Now!

Farrah Abraham: That Drug Test Was FAKED and Bristol Palin is STILL Stalking Me!

Farrah Abraham went on Face The Truth and, when she tested positive for barbiturates , emphatically did not face the truth. In a new interview, Farrah continues to claim that the drug test somehow produced a false positive. She's also doubling down on her claim that Cheyenne shouldn't have been cast for Teen Mom , and that Bristol Palin is stalking her. Farrah Abraham sat down for an  interview with Jenny McCarthy , because water will always find its level. “I literally did call my doctor because during my training I’m not allowed to have any of that in my system,” Farrah protests. As The Ashley notes, she is referring to her training for her November boxing match. “If something is in my vitamins, or my drink supplements, or something like that,” Farrah says. “I have to know about that.” As we all know, gummy vitamins come loaded with barbiturates. Breath mints are laced with coke. Chewing gum is basically just meth. (That's sarcasm, folks) “I’m high energy!” Farrah continues. “I can’t be relaxed when I’m doing all my workouts so I was very confused.” “So basically that was a faulty test…” Farrah claims. “It’s like, I’m a mom. I do very much know what I’m having.” Again, Farrah is spinning this as if people believe that she is taking barbiturates without realizing it . Then, she spins a theory. “It was like a pee test,” Farrah says. “I said that I was on my period but they took that as ‘hey, she must take a muscle relaxer or something.’” Farrah believes that she was set up: “It’s like they took advantage of information.” “I take nothing for anything,” claims the woman whom many feel should be medicated. “In real life, there’s nothing in my system.” They also address Farrah's belief that Bristol Palin is copying her, and Bristol saying that they're nothing alike . “That’s OK. I really like being like myself. I’m very proud of myself,” Farrah says. “I hope that she and her children equally have a good situation…” Farrah says, before saying: “But that’s like ‘white girl interrupted.’” That may be the funniest thing that Farrah has ever said. “She moved to the same city as me, kind of does the same things as me,” Farrah explains. “I don’t know what that is, but that’s a little scary!” “Oh,  Single White Female ?” Farrah says when Jenny corrects her. “Either one! I don’t want any crazy stuff or people copying me or living where I live.” For the record, there are something like 950,000 people living in Austin. We suspect that none of them are there out of a desire to copy Farrah. “I never exploit my child,” Farrah claims. “I know what I’m doing and to value my daughter’s safety and for her own lifestyles and passions and careers.” Sophia is 9 years old, so careers is a weird choice of words. But that's what you'd expect from Farrah. Farrah defends Sophia's social media presence, saying: “All of the kids, and friends in her age group, are all doing the challenges, the Musicallys, all these fun apps.” Misical.ly is an app liked by younger Gen Z folks, though it has its creepy side. “Also, my daughter’s an influencer on some of these apps so if it’s all safe and it’s all fun,” Farrah explains. “I don’t see the need of someone attacking me.” Farrah also explains why she no longer speaks to her former co-stars on Teen Mom OG . “Sadly, because of all their jealousy and animosity or something, I have just turned my cheek and kept moving on,” Farrah claims. Farrah, who accused Viacom of committing hate crimes against her after she was fired, is portraying herself as Christ-like. “Running forward is the best thing to do from ‘Teen Mom.’ I wish them all well with all their new kids and pregnancies,” she says. Again, she talks about turning the other cheek and in the same breath cannot resist trying to shade them about having a lot of children and pregnancies. Farrah continues to insist that casting replacements for her was “not appropriate.” “I would say it’s not appropriate, for both Bristol and…the other woman who has joined,” Farrah says, pretending that she doesn't know Cheyenne's name. She explains that other women who tried out for Teen Mom were asked if they were fans of the show, and fans or “groupies” as Farrah calls them were excluded from casting. “I would say it’s inappropriate because, when you’ve been watching a show, and you know what it’s about,” Farrah begins. Farrah continues: “and have been hovering around for so long, I don’t think that’s authentic to what the show’s about.” “I feel like Cheyenne and this other person [Cory Wharton], who was on MTV, definitely collaborated,” Farrah theorizes. Farrah claims that they “had a child and knew there was a space open and could be on ‘Teen Mom.’” “Bristol, she’s been around,” Farrah says vaguely. “She’s been to public speaking engagements with Maci and I.” “I really feel like they’re in the same category as those women who were chosen not to be on the show because they were ‘Teen Mom’ fans,” Farrah has decided. “That’s the reason that I say what I say,” Farrah concludes. “It’s kind of a sad case.” Now, part of the reason Farrah went on Face The Truth in the first place was that she was having issues with her mother, Debra Danielsen. “I am definitely speaking with my mom,” Farrah affirms. In fact, Farrah notes: “She’s actually going to be at the fight November 10 in Atlantic City.” “If there’s anyone who can show me love, and if there’s anyone who can make me upset, it’s my mom,” Farrah explains. “I’m happy that she’s there because if I get all worn out,” Farrah says. “She can pump me back up again.” Since when has Farrah ever gotten tired of fighting?
