Source: Maria Aufmuth / Getty Serena Williams Reveals She Struggles With Self-Doubts As A Mom Serena Williams was one of several speakers at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women where she talked motherhood , disparities in health outcomes between black and white moms, and more. You’ll recall Serena nearly died after giving birth to her adorable daughter, Alexis Olympia . In an article written for CNN back in February, she revealed: “First my C-section wound popped open due to the intense coughing I endured as a result of the embolism. I returned to surgery, where the doctors found a large hematoma, a swelling of clotted blood, in my abdomen. And then I returned to the operating room for a procedure that prevents clots from traveling to my lungs.” At the time, Serena also spoke about Black moms-to-be not getting proper care: “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, black women in the United States are over three times more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes. But this is not just a challenge in the United States. Around the world, thousands of women struggle to give birth in the poorest countries. When they have complications like mine, there are often no drugs, health facilities or doctors to save them. If they don’t want to give birth at home, they have to travel great distances at the height of pregnancy.” Now, according to The Philly Voice , she told some 10,000 women on Friday: “I did some research and I was alarmed that our black mothers are not being taken care of. It’s in this country that is supposed to be so technologically advanced. Why are we treating out mothers like this?” Adding, “It’s really unacceptable…I feel like if I can help save lives—that’s one of the best things that you can do.” Source: Gilbert Carrasquillo / WireImage / Getty In the process of gushing about how supportive her husband, Alexis Ohanian , has been, Serena also told the crowd she has some insecurities: “I always have these insecurities that I’m not good enough as a mom. We all go through these different emotions that we all don’t feel comfortable talking about. But I think we should.” You’ve got to love her.

This Braxton Sister Had Words For Loni Love After Her ‘Breakfast Club’ Interview

Source: Taylor Hill / Getty It’s not a secret that regardless of how the Braxton sisters feel about one another, they won’t let an outsider come for one of their own–or let you put their name in your mouth. Case in point: Towanda Braxton had words for her sister’s ex-coworker Loni Love for her recent sit-down for the “Breakfast Club,” where she seemed to have spilled some pipping hot tea about Tamar. According to Loni, after Tamar was fired from “The Real,” she claims that she ran into Towanda on a plane, where she gave the talk show host a warning. “I get on a plane to go to Atlanta [and] guess who’s in front of me, in first class: Towanda. She told me they did an emergency episode of  Braxton Family Values , and, ‘You need to see the episode.’” She continued, “I had a person that worked at WEtv. The person that worked at WEtv contacted me [and said], ‘You are being named, the girls are being named,’ and I called my attorney and I said, ‘You gotta call WEtv and let them know if they’re naming us, we’re gonna have to have legal action. That’s defamation of character.” Now, Towanda wasn’t here for any of that and took to social media to clear their name. “What I’m not willing to do is allow ANYONE to create dissension. I absolutely was on that flight with  @comiclonilove  And how many years ago was this conversation? I’m amused at how the statements were paraphrased. It was NEVER a heads up…. AND as soon as I saw Loni on the flight, I IMMEDIATELY contacted Tamar to let her know. The interview circulating that I’m included in is bullsh*t,” she wrote on Instagram. Towanda added, “Why feel compelled to keep mentioning Tamar when it pertains to that talk show? I guess they are her biggest fans? #MuteRKelly: Parents Of The Singer’s Alleged Victim Launch ‘Abuse Hotline’ Against Him

Kelly has brainwashed their daughter and is holding her captive have created a hotline for other women who may have fallen victim to the singer. According to  Mic ,  Tim and Jonjelyn Savage  have been bombarded with calls from nearly 80 women and parents with their own stories of abuse by the Pied Pier after a 2017 Buzzfeed article was published with accusations against the singer. After time, the Savages noticed a disturbing trend: So many of these callers were afraid to go public. So they created a “R. Kelly abuse hotline” last week to create a safe space for people to come forward, speak their truth and to leave a message going into detail about their allegations against the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer. “One reason I feel that he’s been getting away with a lot of the allegations for the last two decades is because people feel he has money and power and they don’t have the resources to fight him,” Mrs. Savage explained. Kelly Speaks Out About New Song In addition, the Savages hope that this influx of callers will allow for them to build an even stronger case against R. Kelly. “There’s no age limit on being mind-controlled, drugged, brainwashed, there’s no age limit on that,” Mrs. Savage said. “So the more we have more young ladies or even men, or parents that are willing to speak out, the more we think it can help our daughter as well as helping other victims.” As we previously reported , the Savages told Buzzfeed last they haven’t seen their daughter Jocelyn since December 2016 and haven’t spoken to her on the phone since December 2017. Shortly after, Joycelyn told TMZ that her parents’ claims were false and that she willingly stays in a relationship with the singer. As we all know, the Savages claims are not new or rare when it comes to the Grammy winner. For decades R. Kelly has  been accused of predatory behavior , especially among African-American women and girls. He is also facing a lawsuit that claims the 51-year-old knowingly transmitted an STD to a women he began dating when she was 19 and he as been accused of cultivating a “sex cult” abusing multiple women. That, and there was that damning documentary on BBC3,  R Kelly: Sex, Girls and Videotapes,  where former girlfriend Kitty Jones says that Kelly introduced her to a girl whom he had allegedly “trained” since she was 14. “I saw that she was dressed like me, that she was saying the things I’d say and her mannerisms were like mine,” Jones said in the film. “That’s when it clicked in my head that he had been grooming me to become one of his pets. This past summer, he  released a new song  addressing the sexual assault, pedophilia and sex cult allegations that have been circling around him for more than two decades. And while the title of the song, “I Admit” gives off the impression that the Pied Piper has finally come clean about his alleged predatory behavior, it’s quite the opposite. In the 19-minute track, Kelly denies all illegal allegations, going as far as to say that the people accusing him are lying and are only doing so to extort money and ruin his career. He also painted a picture of being a victim of sorts, claiming that he was sexually assaulted as a young child, is basically illiterate and has perhaps battled with drug addiction. Hailey Baldwin is Being Blamed for Selena Gomez’s Hospitalization Because People Suck

Selena Gomez is in need of your prayers at the moment. But instead of wishing the singer well during an especially difficult time for her, many dumb people on the Internet are instead wishing Hailey Baldwin ill. The dots here are not hard to connect. But they’re still sad and upsetting to consider. Gomez, as previously reported on The Hollywood Gossip, agreed this week to another trip to rehab . She had been hospitalized twice over the past month or so due to a low white blood cell count, which is a common ailment that results when one has Lupus. According to TMZ, however, Gomez suffered what a source described as an “emotional breakdown” during this second hospitalization, as she was basically sick of being sick. Shortly afterward, she checked into an East Coast psychiatric facility, at which she’s receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) meant to identify and change negative thought/behavioral patterns. Selena, of course, has been battling mental health issues for five years. She recently admitted as much in a moving Instagram video that announced a hiatus from social media . Despite this well-documented history of suffering from serious illness, a handful of Internet users out there simply assume Gomez is all sad and in need of help because her ex-boyfriend is engaged. This ex-boyfriend is Justin Bieber. And this fiancee is Hailey Baldwin. And the latter is now receiving death threats and hearing harsh criticism from those who blame her for Selena’s ongoing problems. “Hey, Selena in hospitalized. Be ready Justin will drop you anytime soon for his real love Selena Gomez. Your time will coming,” wrote one angry person on Instagram. Added another: “So sad that youre [sic] always the second choice.” As you can see from some other examples below, these are not isolated incidents. Lots of dumb and cruel trolls out there really are targeting Baldwin in response to Gomez seeking a new round of professional treatment. This is very dangerous and just plain stupid. Selena admittedly has a mental illness. She has Depression with a capital D. She isn’t just sad for some short period of time because an old flame has moved on with a new woman. Not only is the above line of thinking, as represented in these comments, mean to Baldwin and unecessarily inflammatory — they are disrespectful to those who suffer as Selena does. Depression is a sickness. It can maybe be triggered by outside events at some, but it is always present and it can’t be blamed on anyone; not the person who has it and not the actions of any third party. It’s silly and ignorant to think otherwise. Many times over the past few months, sources have said that Gomez is actually doing just fine in the wake of Bieber’s engagement.  She hasn’t been moping all around time, thinking her life is over. She knows she can do a lot better! So, instead of directing any wrath at Baldwin or writing cruel remarks on social media, please take a deep breath here, folks. Bill Cosby Furiously Compares #MeToo to Literal Terrorists

Bill Cosby has been sentenced to prison. A lot of people enjoy that knowledge even more than they enjoy stories of him getting  slapped with an airborne chicken patty . But Cosby himself apparently feels that this is a huge injustice, that he’s somehow a victim. A report says that he has compared the women of the #MeToo movement to  literal terrorists . RadarOnline   reports that Bill Cosby believes that  he , not the 60 women who accuse him of the unspeakable, is the real victim here. According to the inside source, he has likened the accusations against him and his own prosecution to a “terrorist attack.” He even has a particular terrorist group in mind. On September 25, after the prosecution’s final expert witnesses had spoken, Cosby reportedly uttered a comment. “These women make ISIS look like nuns,” Cosby reportedly said. That refers, of course, to the preferred name of Daesh, a terrorist organization that has dealt death, suffering, and desecration across Iraq and Syria. Cosby was apparently also irate with his legal team. “He wasn’t happy whatsoever,” the insider reports. “He wasn’t happy that his team didn’t put up character witnesses,” the source claims. The insider also states: “He wasn’t happy that his defense dropped the bomb that accused the prosecution of doctoring a tape after he was sentenced.” (That may have been part of a valid legal strategy of avoiding alienating the court, and conspiracy theories about prosecutors tend to piss off judges) Says the source on Cosby: “I’ve never seen him so mad.” Allegedly, Cosby was so peeved during the trial that he wanted to lash out with violence against all of the people he blamed for his predicament. “Mr. Cosby said he’d ‘whack them with his cane’ …” the insider claims. The source does note that he would only do that “if he ‘could see them.’” Cosby is said to be legally blind, though some believe that this may have been played up as a ploy for sympathy. “He was worried that if he tried tossing his cane,” the insider reveals. “He’s accidentally slap the judge rather than his target,” “And,” the source states. “That definitely wasn’t worth the risk.” Now this is where the report begins to stretch one’s beliefs. Cosby allegedly believes that he should “band together” with Harvey Weinstein and others. He allegedly sees him and the other men accused of vile sex crimes as “the real #MeToo victims.” He reportedly referred to the actions of the #MeToo movement as being “severe enough for ISIS to claim responsibility.” He is even said to have referred to the women bravely coming forward as a “terrorist attack on Hollywood.” Now, it is not difficult to imagine Cosby feeling persecuted. Even the most vile people in history have often felt that they are the victims when they are finally faced with the slightest consequences for their actions. It is also very easy to picture Cosby becoming furious with his attorneys and their legal strategy. But are he and Weinstein and Woody Allen and Roman Polansky and Bryan Singer and James Toback really going to form some sort of anti-#MeToo  Legion of Doom ? No. Cosby and hsi team have been quick to compare his situation to other men, from Brett Kavanaugh  to Jesus . Yes, really. Others have been strongly reluctant to tie their name or story with Cosby’s. This reluctance to associate is probably because Cosby has dozens of accusers, some of whom have spoken out sincet he 1990s. He might want to cling to the names of the men who remain free and have yet to face real consequences — but to them, he represents what they hope to avoid. Niecy Nash Claims She Was Disinvited From This Upscale Event Because She’s Black

This is a lesson the folks behind the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic had to learn when they allegedly disinvited the Emmy-nominee to their annual event in Los Angeles last Saturday (Oct. 6). The  Claws  star took to social media to share that she was personally invited to the event at Will Rogers Polo Club by the founder of The A List,  Ashlee Margolis , who hosts exclusive events for high end brands. But then all of a sudden, Niecy’s invitation was rescinded on the day of the A-list shindig. In a series of now-deleted tweets, she wrote the following: “My invite was rescinded bcuz I was the wrong caliber of guest,” she tweeted. “2x Emmy nominee. Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, #1 summer show  Claws . NOT white. Let’s see who makes the cut… smh.” She also stressed that she’s boycotting the Veuve Clicquot brand all together. “I wouldn’t come to your event if you paid me. Wait u wouldn’t. I’m not white.” Not to undermine Niecy’s feelings or sentiment, but there were a few Black celebs at the event including “Lyft Bae” Kendrick Sampson ,  Rosario Dawson  and  Harold Perrineau. Nevertheless, we still want to know why her invite was snatched away. Was it because she wasn’t the “right kind” of Black celebrity? Veuve Clicquot, y’all got some explaining to do! Peggy McCay, Beloved Days of Our Lives Star, Dead at 90

Peggy McCay, a veteran actress best known for her long-running role on Days of Our Lives, passed away on Sunday from natural causes. She was 90 years old. The very sad news about this soap opera icon was shared on Facebook by her co-star and close friend, Deidre Hall. Wrote Hall as confirmation: Our dearest Peggy McCay has left us. She was a friend, an activist and a real scrapper!! I remember meeting her at the bedside of a dear, very ill friend. I backed her up as she ferociously took on doctors and nurses to make sure he had the very best care. She fought that hard for all her causes. Passionate and tireless.  And how she loved being “Caroline”!! Indeed, McCay portrayed the character of Caroline Brady for 35 years. McCay originated the role of Vanessa Dale on the CBS soap opera Love of Life in 1951 and appeared on that program for four years. However, it was her portrayal of family matriarch Brady on Days of Our Lives for which she is best known. By far. McCay joined the cast in 1983 and was nominated four times for a Daytime Emmy for the role, most recently in 2016. Her final episode on the series aired on August 24, 2016. “I just heard the news that #PeggyMccay has passed,” Tweeted Jen Lilley, one of many actresses who paid tribute on social media today. “She was like a real grandmother to me, a mentor, a great source of encouragement, and she was so hilariously fierce. You are deeply missed Peggy!” Co-star Thaao Penghlis described McCay as “always a classy lady” and added as part of his full statement: Peggy McCay cared about her craft, her fellow actors and the Life of Days. She reigned well in this most pressured profession of Daytime.” McCay won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a drama series for The Trials of Rosie O’Neill. She also earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for a guest role as Mrs. Carruthers on Cagney & Lacey. The well-respected star’s other TV credits include: Maverick The Andy Griffith Show Perry Mason Gunsmoke L.A. Law Cold Case  Lou Grant Wrote Sal Stowers on Twitter: “Peggy McCay was such a beautiful and tender woman. Her Presence was truly special to be around. Very honored to have shared precious time with her. “Fly with the angels Ms. McCay.” We join these individuals and all the others who have expressed their remorse over McCay’s passing. She was a wonderful actress. May she rest in peace.

Channing Tatum and Jessie J: Random New Couple Alert!

Hey, Jessie J: We know someone who wants to channing all over your tatum . In fact, according to multiple sources, he’s probably already done so. This is all a roundable way of saying that Jessie J is apparently dating Channing Tatum. The relationship has been going strong for a couple months now, insiders tell Us Weekly, adding that Tatum and J have been spotted together at the latter’s recent concerts in Seattle and Salt Lake City. An astute social media user even claims the stars played miniature golf together just this past Saturday in Washington. Which is downright adorable, is it now? “It’s new, casual and they’re having fun together,” writes the aforementioned tabloid, while People Magazine also confirms this pair is knocking boots and getting at each other in the buff. “It’s very new,” says a source simply to this publication. But the Twitter user who witnessed Tatum and J on the course actually seems like the most reliable source here. “Who knew a mini golf job could be so crazy,” wrote @maurerpower172 on Saturday, explaining in more detail: “Tonight I had to watch one of my a——- ex professors make out with his fiancé, then my coworker cut his hand open and had to go to the hospital, and finally Jessie j and Channing Tatum came in to play a round.” You may recall (or you more likely do not ) that the former The Voice UK presented Tatum with the award for Best Comedic Performance at the MTV Movie Awards in 2015. The stars briefly embraced on stage as he accepted the golden popcorn trophy. It’s unclear whether they’ve been in regular contact since or whether this quick encounter played any role in their new romance. Just this past April, Tatum and Jenna Dewan – who are parents to five-year-old daughter Everly – announced their decision to separate after nearly nine years of marriage. It took us all by major surprise. This is what their lengthy and heartfelt statement read at the time: We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision – just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. And it’s true: neither has uttered many words about the split since. Dewan simply said this to Women’s Health in July: “It’s OK for a relationship to change into a new form that is actually better for both people involved, and I think that’s maybe what shocked everyone so much – that it can be a positive thing. “That was ultimately what happened with us. Neither Tatum nor J has commented on their relationship. So we’re mostly left to wonder and speculate here. And we’re gonna go ahead and wildly speculate about the following: These two hotties must have outstanding intercourse!
