New Tupac Tracks Dis B.I.G., Diddy, More

Two new posthumous songs take aim at Dr. Dre, Nas, Mobb Deep, De La Soul and others. By Rob Markman Tupac Photo: Chi Modu Tupac Shakur ‘s rigorous recording habits ensured that the late rapper would continue to make a musical impact, even in the afterlife. Since his death in 1996, fans have been treated to albums worth of posthumous ‘Pac records, but the two records that leaked onto the Internet late Tuesday night are sure to cause a stir. A far cry from Shakur’s uplifting tunes like “Changes” and ” ‘Til the End of Time,” the two new tracks, “NY 87” and an alternate version of the little-known “Watch Yo Mouth,” take aim at East Coast rap artists like the Notorious B.I.G., Diddy, Mobb Deep, Nas, De La Soul and former ‘Pac ally Dr. Dre. Both songs appear to have been recorded circa 1996, when ‘Pac was in a feud with Diddy’s Bad Boy record label and various other New York artists, including the Notorious B.I.G. It was around this time when Shakur recorded and released his two most famous dis tracks “Hit ‘Em Up” and “Against All Odds” from his The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album, which he recorded under the alias Makaveli. While “Watch Yo Mouth” is being touted as a new track, the song popped up online over two years ago. The version that was leaked this week has an alternate beat behind it, but the words remain the same. On it, the fiery Shakur begins with a barrage of Dr. Dre insults: “He ain’t made a beat in six years, swear he the sh–/ Won’t get no record sales suckin’ Nas’ di–.” Nasty Nas also gets thrown under the bus as ‘Pac compares the two rappers’ record sales. De La Soul, Wendy Williams, Diddy and the Notorious B.I.G. all get ridiculed. Even in his lyrical tirade, the rapper attempts to downplay the much-hyped East Coast/ West Coast beef of the mid-1990s by chanting, “For my n—as on the east side” throughout the song. “NY 87,” however, is a different story. Featuring raps by Tha Dogg pound (Daz and Kurupt) and Threat, the bass-heavy dis track starts with a monologue from DJ Quik declaring, “Them n—–s on the East is the enemy.” Though the track is being labeled on the Net as a ‘Pac track, it is Tha Dogg Pound who are prominently featured. Appearing only on the last verse, ‘Pac doesn’t name-check any artists, but he does spit, “Move mother—-ers ’til they feel me/ It’s West Coast n—a, f— New York, now did everybody hear me?” As of now it is unknown who released these tracks and why. The timing comes a little more than one week after Dexter Isaacs spoke to AllHipHop.com about his involvement in the 1994 robbery and non-fatal shooting of Shakur and after the hip-hop community celebrated what would’ve been Tupac’s 40th birthday on June 16. Many have speculated that the feud between Tupac and Biggie is what led to the deaths of both rappers. Those rumors have never been confirmed. What do you think of these two posthumous Tupac songs? Ryan Dunn Had A ‘Pure, Open Heart,’ Says Johnny Knoxville

Knoxville and ‘Jackass’ director Jeff Tremaine blog about Dunn and Zach Hartwell who were killed in last week’s car crash. By Gil Kaufman Johnny Knoxville attends the memorial service for Ryan Dunn on June 22 Photo: Amy Dragoo/ AP Images The memorial service for Ryan Dunn last Wednesday was such an emotional event that his “Jackass” co-star Johnny Knoxville could barely get out the words to pay tribute to his friend and fellow daredevil, who died in a high-speed car crash last Monday. “I walked to the podium and tried to share memories of my dear friend, but the words were just spinning in my head,” wrote Knoxville in an emotional, touching blog post on the website of “Jackass” production company Dickhouse. “What came out were the mumblings of a man trying his best not to cry, and I wasn’t even successful at that. I didn’t break down, because I knew [Dunn’s girlfriend] Angie or his family didn’t need to see that, but I also didn’t get to properly convey what Ryan meant to me. I won’t be able to do that here either, but I will try. Here is what I wished I could have told everyone then.” What follows in the blog entry is a moving tribute to Dunn, who officials said had a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit when he drove his Porsche off the road at 140 mph, killing himself and his friend Zachary Hartwell . “I felt 34 percent funnier when I was with Ryan, but I guess everyone did,” Knoxville wrote. “He had such a hair trigger laugh reflex. He lived his life wanting to laugh and wanting you to laugh with him. He would cackle really f—ing loud, too, and it wasn’t uncommon that he would fall over from it. Sometimes I would fall with him because his spirit was very contagious. He wasn’t incapable of seriousness, though. Ryan was a great listener. If you were having troubles, he was always someone you could go sit down and talk to. Granted, most of our sitting down was actually standing up playing pool together, but he was always there if you were sad about something. That’s why all this is even harder, because right now I really need to talk to him but I can’t.” Knoxville wrote of Dunn’s “enormous” capacity to love, which he shared with his friends and beloved Angie, whom Dunn was constantly talking up, wondering how he managed to land such a catch despite what Johnny joked were his iffy hygiene habits. “It sure wasn’t because of the way he smelled that’s for sure,” Knoxville said of Dunn, who he revealed “despised” water and rarely bathed. “It was because he had a pure, open heart, and many other qualities of which I am writing about now.” He praised Dunn’s capacity for loyalty, a prized quality among a crew that often lived to undermine each other with surprise stunts. “Whether it was a bit for ‘Jackass,’ a friend in need, or his beloved Angie, Dunn was as loyal as they come,” he wrote. “Ryan, I had to go wake up [my daughter] Madison and tell her you were gone. Do you know how hard that was?!! She loved you so much and I know you loved her, so why, buddy? [My son] Rocko will never get to know you like she did, nor will my daughter that is coming in October. I cry a lot about that.” He said that one of his favorite songwriters, Roger Alan Wade, penned a song for Dunn, lamenting that his pal would never get to hear it. “I’m starting to ramble now, just like I did at the memorial, so I’ll stop,” he concluded. “You’ll have to excuse me, I’m just very sad because I lost my brother and my world got about 134 percent less funny. I don’t know what else to say right now, so I will close with I love you, Ryan. I have a lot of emotions swirling, but I want you to know I love you so very much.” “Jackass” director Jeff Tremaine wrote a blog in honor of Hartwell, whose memory he wanted to make sure was honored alongside his famous friend Dunn. “Ryan first introduced us to Zach in 2006 when we went to West Chester to shoot ‘Jackass Number Two.’ We ended up hiring him as a production assistant for the two weeks we were there filming,” Tremaine wrote. “Zach and Ryan hung out all the time and they had similar mannerisms and senses of humor; therefore, I got along with him right away.” Tremaine then shared a few stories about Hartwell’s antics, which he warned were always pretty gross. He recalled some scatological revenge Iraq war veteran Hartwell took on one of the “Jackass” producers, Trip Taylor, which included making sure Taylor never used his pillow again. “We hung out every night after filming, and right away it felt like we had been friends for a long time,” Tremaine said. “One of these nights, we were out shooting pool, and I had an impossible shot. I bet Zach that if I made it he would have to drink a glass of pee — mine. I hit the shot and he honored the bet. I know it sounds disgusting, but my pee isn’t that bad. In fact, Knoxville hardly ever notices whenever I pee in his drinks. Aside from all these pranks, Zach took his job for us seriously and worked really hard. I appreciated him very much and will always consider him my friend. Rest in peace, brother.” Related Videos Remembering Ryan Dunn Related Photos Ryan Dunn: A Career In Photos

Has Technology Made Us More Awkward?

Excerpt from:

Yesterday, as I was walking back from the train station after a long day at work, I ran into someone I knew on the way home. After we exchanged greetings and we proceeded to chat, it quickly became hard to hold a conversation as we both seemed lost in our own worlds. We had both not been expecting this chance meeting and were tired from work, but I later realized that there was more to that encounter than just lethargy from the end of the day. I had spent most of the train ride on my phone surfing the internet and reading a book, which are both very solitary activities. The bulk of my job requires me to be on my laptop, so obviously I have become very accustomed over the years to communicating online. I even find myself making lunch plans through e-mail, even though the person I’m messaging is in the same side of the building. Ordinary face-to-face contact has become an alternate reality to sites such as Facebook and Twitter, where you can post your day-to-day thoughts and send messages instantly from person to person. You don’t even have to open your mouth or leave your chair anymore to be able to ask people questions or find out about their daily life. The addition of the internet onto cell phones has also become a gateway to instant gratification and can sometimes even spawn new friendships if you are too shy to speak to someone on a more personal level. However, if you really think about it, what is technology doing to the fundamental social skills that people have to learn and cultivate? If you can’t talk to someone in person and you resort to e-mailing or Facebook-ing them, is that really the start to a healthy relationship? While there are definitely some advantages to the technology that have made communication easier in the long run, there are still some drawbacks in the way people relate to each other with this changing technology. Is Social Networking Bad For Your Child? Thinking back to even ten years ago, cell phones were less advanced and social networks were not the ultimate gathering place. E-mail was still important and frequently used, but you couldn’t access it as easily as you can with today’s rash of Smart-phones. The latter has actually become something of interest to me as of late, as I just recently invested in an iPhone. Being able to access your Facebook account or e-mail on the run can be a blessing and a curse, as having so much connectivity can be helpful, as well as distracting. While it might be great to be able to look up street directions or a song that you heard on the radio, sometimes the urge to check one’s phone for new messages can end up replacing human-to-human interaction. Despite the new distractions, I was recently discussing the merits of cell phones and computers with a friend at lunch today and we were both in awe of how we survived without them for so long. Mailing letters and stopping by at people’s houses unannounced seems foreign to us in this day and age, since the fast-paced world has made people accessible at an instant. Ways of communicating are constantly changing, yet this new evolution has left the younger generation less likely to engage in true face-to-face conversation. According to the New York Times , college students have even started using text messages as a way of resolving roommate conflicts, despite the fact that they could be discussing it right in their own room! Have text messages become the new voice, making us strangers of interpersonal connection? It’s important to take yourself away from your technology once in a while, putting away your phone and simply sitting down for coffee with a friend without distractions. Basic communication skills like eye contact and a listening ear are vital in forming bonds with other people and something we should continue to cultivate, despite the changing times with new media replacing what was once commonplace interaction. When you “unplug” yourself from the web of technology, even if for a short amount of time, there is much to be learned from simply talking to others and keeping the human aspect of communication alive. Never forget the foundation of human interaction, which involves the bare bones of creating a relationship with the other person. It is very hard to find connections through simple text, as the words have to have some emotion that only the human voice, facial expressions, and general presence can provide. By breaking the barriers that technology has built around us, using our face-to-face times as serious communication can help bring us out of our awkward funk and back into a world where machines don’t dominate our social lives! Did Jennifer Aniston Go All Angelina Jolie on Justin Theroux’s Girlfriend?

Some critics of Jennifer Aniston’s newest relationship say that she “stole” boyfriend Justin Theroux from his girlfriend of 14 years , Heidi Bivens . In other words, haters say Jen pulled an Angelina Jolie. The 42-year-old fell hard for costar Theroux on the Georgia set of Wanderlust last fall, and “nothing was going to get in her way,” Us reports . But is that really the whole story here? “Jen went after him hard,” a set source says, dishing on how Aniston and Theroux began having secret trysts at her temporary, secluded digs. Charmed by his quick wit, hipster style and impressive screenwriter background, Aniston “overlooked her secret beau’s relationship status.” “Jen wanted Justin and it didn’t matter that he was already with someone,” says the source … but here’s one thing that doesn’t add up. Theroux ended things with Bivens in March. He began dating Aniston after that. Yes, Bivens was still living at their NYC apartment in June, but Theroux was not. So they weren’t living together in earnest. The source even says that Bivens “didn’t know Aniston was the catalyst” behind the split, the source says, “until now … it sucks when your ex dates the most famous woman in the world so soon after a breakup.” That it does, we have no doubt. But he didn’t go public with Jen until very recently, he and Heidi weren’t married, and there’s no proof of cheating. Somewhat unusual circumstances, but not home-wrecker material. There are some parallels here, but nothing like what happened with Brangelina. Perhaps the tabloids should stick to making up flat-out nonsense, like the story about Angelina Jolie being an anorexic heroin addict . That was good! [Photo: Us Weekly]

What’s Wrong With This Video: Did Beyonce Even Know What Song She Was Singing?

Remember Queen’s classic 70s jawn “Bohemian Rhapsody?” If you’re an 80s baby, this song came into your life twice in high school: once as part of “Wayne’s World,” which lead to a new video being made back when MTV actually played videos all day; and a second time in 96 when some random broads from Cali remade it. This joint is a karaoke staple. Anyone who actually likes this song enough to sing it knows the words front to back… except your girl King B. So disrespectful!! That’s not running the world.

Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake Hit ‘Bad Teacher’ Black Carpet

‘She just doesn’t belong in school,’ Diaz tells MTV News of her naughty character at comedy’s New York premiere. By Jocelyn Vena Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake at the “Bad Teacher” premiere Photo: James Devaney/ WireImage NEW YORK — “Bad Teacher” stars Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel came out on Monday night for the premiere of their raunchy comedy. And Diaz, who plays couldn’t-care-less teacher Elizabeth Halsey, told us she why she loved the role. “It was a lot of fun. Elizabeth was such a well-written character,” she told MTV News on the Ziegfeld Theatre’s black carpet. “It was easy to play her; it was easy to say the words. She was so well-defined.” Cameron’s character is very naughty, and her co-stars Tom Lennon and Phyllis Smith (“The Office”) jokingly admitted that they might have paid more attention in school back in the day if a teacher had been as sexy as Diaz, a sentiment the A-list start completely understood. “I think that’s why people love Elizabeth,” Diaz said. “It’s because everyone wants to be her, even for an hour, maybe a day. If you get away with a week — oh my gosh! I got to play her for six weeks. So yeah, it was a lot of fun.” As it turns out, it isn’t just Elizabeth’s attitude that’s fierce, but also her killer sense of style. Diaz fully embraced the teacher’s fashion sense in the Jake Kasdan-directed flick. “The wardrobe is really good. Elizabeth is a working girl, if you know what I mean,” she laughed. “So she has to look a certain way: She’s always either coming in from the night before or coming out and she never wants to be mistaken as a teacher and she wears [Christian] Louboutins every day of her life and she just doesn’t belong in school.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Bad Teacher.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Tyrese Pens Father’s Day Poem: “I’m Not Just Semen”

Continue reading here:

In honor of Father’s Day 2011, Tyrese has written a poem detailing his feelings about fatherhood; he compares boys to men, and likens himself to a hunter and a king. Read his words below! “On this day, we as fathers are celebrated around the world… I am more than just a man.. I am a father. A boy is excited about the opportunity to be a dad. A father is more focused on the “Responsibility” of being a father. As a father it is a responsibility to create the standards in our kids’ lives, I am not just semen. I love you, and you love me and in our family we created “we” in our children… I am power, I am intelligence, I am education, I am integrity, I am God fearing spirituality, I am consistent… As a father, sometimes I have to be away. I am constantly in the field hunting for my family’s survival. I am king therefore you are my queen. President Obama has created a new standard and removed every excuse a black man could ever have of NOT being a father… I am more than I appear to be, I am more than just a man. I….AM….FATHER!! Fathers… Even though it seems like your effort is sometimes overlooked, God is watching and he knows your heart. To all of the REAL FATHERS around the world.. Through good, bad or ugly relationships with the mother… If you are NOT there for your kids, it is ONLY the kids that suffer in the end. Take a stand and do any means necessary to be a part of your kids lives. God knows your heart… God bless all FATHERS around the WORLD for Father’s Day! 10 Things LeBron James Can Do To Lessen The Hate

There is no doubt that LeBron James is the most hated man in basketball today. Practically everyone outside Miami rooted for the eventual champions, the Dallas Mavericks . Not because they’re Mavs fans, but because they all want to see LeBron fail, and fail he did, in pathetic fashion no less. He remains ringless after eight seasons in the league. But I still believe James will get his rings. At 26, he still has a dozen or so years’ worth of shots at the Larry O’Brien trophy . However, James needs more than just pure talent to win. He needs all the positive vibes he can get, and he won’t be getting any of that anytime soon, what with more than half the world wanting him to lose. Whether LeBron admits it or not, his performance has been affected by all the hate, that he actually wants to be liked. Here are some of the things he can do to actually get there. 1. Apologize for “The Decision” This is where all of LeBron’s major troubles actually started. While people completely understand it was within his right to play for any team he chooses, dumping an entire city that worshipped him for seven years in such a tasteless and self-serving manner, on a live TV special no less, made everyone, even those who didn’t really care much about basketball, hate him. An admission that the entire thing was a mistake and a sincere apology to Cleveland, the NBA and its fans will go a long way in restoring people’s respect and faith in him. And please, spare us the “It’s for the kids” excuse. 2. Fire Maverick Carter “The Decision” wasn’t his idea, but it was Carter who gave his biggest client the go-signal to proceed with one of the biggest PR disasters in sports history. Since then, James’ agent has done nothing but orchestrate for James one boneheaded move after another, from coaching him to play the race card with regards to the negative response “The Decision” got, to commercials that seem to spit in Cleveland’s face. For an agent who’s supposed to be moving heaven and earth for his number one client, Carter is surely not doing his childhood friend any favors in the PR department. 3. Take Head Out of Sphincter, Then Speak Recent case in point: his post-Finals presscon where he practically told everyone who didn’t root for him that their lives will still suck the following morning, and he’d still be living the life of a multi-millionaire sports superstar. He probably didn’t mean for his words to be interpreted that way, but athletes of James’ talents and stature need to learn to be more tactful. Whether he likes it or not, James’ words will always be overanalyzed, which is why he really needs to be schooled in the subtle art of talking to the media. 4. Stop flopping. If not possible, at least make sure there’s a bit of contact before falling down LeBron didn’t invent flopping, but he’s one of the best at selling them. Think of the flops he did against 2011 MVP Derrick Rose in the Eastern Conference Finals and Brendan Haywood in the NBA Finals. There was practically no contact in both cases, yet he acted like he was hit by a freight train every single time, and got the whistle. The problem is, his Oscar-winning flops are not winning him more fans, just more haters. He also pissed Jeff Van Gundy off, who was right to rant about the Haywood flop, especially when it’s coming from a player as gifted as James. 5. Grow Up Before Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Wade and James hammed it up for the TV cameras by imitating Dirk Nowitzki’s coughing throughout the previous game, with the latter covering his mouth with his shirt, just like the eventual Finals MVP did during the post Game 4 press conference. Apparently, the fact that they’re a decade removed from high school slipped their minds. This, plus many other childish shenanigans in the past, has solidified LeBron’s reputation as a spoiled and immature brat. It’s time for LeBron to grow up fast and be the role model that he’s supposed to be. 6. Shelve the WWE-Worthy Antics The chalk toss. That entrance on a forklift for his welcome party almost a year ago. All that dancing and preening on court during a game. Talking about himself in the third person. It’s the NBA dammit, not the WWE. Some find these antics cute, but most find them extremely annoying. 7. Enough Whining For someone who earns more than $48 million a year, LeBron sure whines a lot. From the rough play in the NBA to his playing minutes, James has been acting like a baby about all of it. He should just shut up and play basketball, a sport that he’s supposed to be the best at. 8. Go to a tattoo removal clinic and obliterate that “CHOSEN1” tattoo Who chose him for what anyway? That tattoo, along with that ridiculous royal title he’s been lugging around since God-knows-when, is a lightning rod of criticism and ridicule. It never is a good idea to brag about something without backing it up. Sure, he has won two MVPs, but individual accolades pale in comparison to an NBA title, which is kinda the point of the whole thing, isn’t it? 9. Actually Lead The Miami Heat To An NBA title If he wants to be spared the pain of tattoo removal, then he must lead the Heat to a championship in the next few years or so. Emphasis on LEAD , because anything less than that, like playing second fiddle to Dwayne Wade doesn’t really count, not with his otherworldly skills. Unless he wants “CHOSEN1” to be interpreted as “Wade’s chosen bitch”. 10. And if he can’t win one, ever, at least show the world that he did everything within his immense power to win, and that he never quit. This is how many NBA greats who never won a championship did it. So there’s no shame in belonging to that esteemed albeit unfortunate list.
