You cannot expect others to love you if you do not love yourself. It sounds simple. It really is the root cause of why people have as many problems as they do in this world. They do not express the love that God gave them within themselves. If we look at why there is such low self esteem amongst our people, it is because we do not contain self love. There is a wonderful Gospel song that has the lyrics: “‘I Will… Bless The Lord …Oh My Soul… And All That Is Within Me …Bless His Holy Name” If we can sing these words we must understand that the blessings start within me. Here are a few things to begin your self love project. 1- Forgive You – I know people who have carried their mistakes with them their entire life, and as result they remain unhappy at the core. I know what it’s like to make a mistake and feel like you shouldn’t be forgiven, but that kind of thinking is nonsense. There is no action not worthy of forgiveness. 2- Stop Comparing Yourself to Others – I’m just as guilty as the next person in this area, for this is something that I too am struggling with even today. But as I’ve come to realize the more you compare yourself to others the less self worth you place on yourself Only when you stop comparing yourself to others can then you then begin to love yourself 3- Stop Seeking Approval- Seeking approval is similar to comparing yourself to others, and it’s fair to say that we all do it from time to time. I’m not going to lie and say I’ve never sought approval from my family or friends, but I’m also going to tell you that when approval was my main focus those were also not the happiest times in my life. 4- Believe In Yourself – Loving and believing in yourself go hand in hand. You can’t love yourself if you don’t believe in yourself, and you can’t believe in yourself if you don’t love yourself first. To fully experience what it means to live you must have a confidence in all you do, even during the times in which you come up short. 5- Trust Your Judgmen t and know that through both the good and bad you are worthy. Inside of yourself you do know essentially what is best for you and how to apply it. 6 – Practice Silence – Last week I wrote about discovering the true you in Silence. For me this means that I must remove myself from my natural environment in order to have peace and quiet. 7- Eat Healthy And Exercise – Part of loving yourself is allowing your body to be in its top form. An occasional indulgence in alcohol or some fast food isn’t the end of the in the world but making a habit of destroying your body is. 8- Express Yourself – Holding back on what you feel and how you feel makes you’re a prisoner inside. You do not deserve to be a prisoner. This is not what your Creator made you for. He made you to love, be loved and to know the world If you really want to change the world, if you really want to experience that life you’ve always desired, you must first love yourself fully, because all the advice in the world won’t matter if you don’t. It won’t always be be easy, but your relationship with yourself is the most important relationship you will ever have. Make each day a day in which you continue to deepen your relationship with yourself and experience the life you know you were meant to live. The world depends on you to love yourself. ‘Anytime Britney comes to the Palms, we always welcome her with open arms,’ George Maloof tells MTV News. She played a fan-pleasing three-song set at Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where the show was being taped for an MTV special airing this week. Hours before Britney took the stage, MTV News caught up with Palms owner George Maloof, who gushed about how awesome it was to have Britney on hand for her first Femme Fatale live performance. “I think this one’s going to be really over-the-top,” he said of Spears’ show, which will be included in the MTV special. “And we’re all excited about her new album, and I heard it’s spectacular, so here we go: Britney Spears at the Palms.” Spears hyped the release of Femme Fatale in a big way during Friday’s nightclub set, performing lead singles “Hold It Against Me” and “Till the World Ends” while also debuting the will.i.am-produced “Big Fat Bass.” Each track required a new body-hugging costume — including a black latex catsuit covered in red LED lights — to accommodate her trademark dance moves. Maloof, who has known Britney for the better part of the last decade, said that while he’s friendly with the star, he’s still excited that she chose his hotel for the performance. “It’s the biggest star in the world, so it’s an honor for us. It’s pretty difficult in this day and age, but there’s so much anticipation.” Spears wasn’t the only big name on the marquee for the show. “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D was also on hand to warm up the crowd. “Pauly D is one of our resident DJs, so we bring the Palms and Pauly D, pop culture together here with Britney Spears, and it’s going to be a madhouse.” For fans who couldn’t be at the Vegas show themselves, Maloof set the scene: “I think they’re going to see pyrotechnics. I think they’re going to see a very sexy show in a very unique and intimate venue that’s one-of-a-kind. … It’ll be a lot of fun. I want to hear the songs. I’m excited about the album, so that’s what I’m looking forward to. While the kids-friendly sequel ruled the weekend, “Just Go With It” became the 12th Adam Sandler movie to gross more than $100 million. By Ryan J. Downey Grayson Russell in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” Photo: FOX In the weekend battle of the flashy, hyper-stylized action flick versus the kid-movie-franchise sequel, it turned out that Rodrick did, in fact, rule. “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” bested “Sucker Punch” at the box office to become the #1 movie in the United States with a $22.4 million debut. Based on the second installment of the kid-friendly book series, “Wimpy Kid” bested the debut of its predecessor, which took in $21.8 million when it was released around this same time last year. All figures are according to studio estimates. The $19 million opening of “Sucker Punch,” meanwhile, was less than the debuts of director Zack Snyder’s previous movies “300,” “Watchmen” or “Dawn of the Dead.” While the latter three films were based on preexisting sources, “Sucker Punch,” a loud music-driven action fantasy about a group of girls in a mental institution who lead dream-world lives as action heroines, was Snyder’s first wholly original concept. A mere 22 percent of critics reviewed it positively, according to Rotten Tomatoes. News that the 45-year-old director has cast Amy Adams as Lois Lane in his forthcoming superhero reboot “Superman: Man of Steel” overshadowed talk of “Sucker Punch” across Twitter and film blogs on Sunday. Last week’s #1 movie, “Limitless,” brought in another $15.2 million, for a domestic total of $41.3 million. With an estimated production budget of $27 million, the movie’s numbers are great news for Bradley Cooper, who chose the flick as his first real starring vehicle since finding fame. The modest success of “The Lincoln Lawyer” is great news of a different kind for Matthew McConaughey. It’s his best-reviewed film in years. Telling the story of a conflicted lawyer working cases from his car, the movie has reminded critics that the sometimes-ridiculed leading man does have real talent. “The Lincoln Lawyer” brought in $11 million to land at #4, with a $29 million total. Johnny Depp’s animated “Rango” was one of two movies to cross the $100 million mark over the weekend. The movie landed in fifth place with a $9.8 million take, for a $106.4 million total. Meanwhile, “Just Go With It” became the 12th Adam Sandler movie to gross more than $100 million domestically. Although the romantic comedy is no longer in the top 10 at the box office, it has earned a total of $100.3 million. Sci-fi action flick “Battle: Los Angeles” was #6 with $7.6 million, for a $72.6 million total. The loving sci-fi homage “Paul” dropped roughly 45 percent in its second weekend of release, earning $7.5 million to land at #7 while upping its total earnings to $24.6 million. The Nick Frost/ Simon Pegg comedy cost about $40 million to make. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke’s “Red Riding Hood” was #8 with $4.3 million, for a $32.5 million total. Matt Damon’s “The Adjustment Bureau” was #9 with $4.2 million, for a $54.9 million total. International tickets, after-market sales and a built-in diehard fanbase will probably save “Paul” from being remembered as a failure, but the weekend’s #10 movie, which shares an alien theme, likely won’t escape that fate. The animated “Mars Needs Moms” made $2.2 million, bringing its total take to $19.2 million against an estimated $150 million production budget. Next weekend’s new releases include “Moon” director Duncan Jones’ “Source Code,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga; the Easter-themed kid’s movie “Hop,” featuring the voice of Russell Brand; the haunted-house flick “Insidious”; and the action/comedy “Super,” with Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon. In fact, the singer even got some birthday love from … herself. “Drawing on table at restaurant. If I had to give it all back, but got to keep my fans, that’d be ok,” she wrote on Twitter . She included a photo of a drawing she made that reads “Happy Birthday Me” with hearts all around it. As a birthday treat, her fans trended the hash tag “#bornthisday” in honor of their Mother Monster. In another tweet , she thanked her fans for making her a trending topic on Twitter in honor of her big day. “Thank you for trending #BornThisDay monsters! The sweetest tweet! You are all the present I need in the world. I’ll be 25 in about 4 hrs!” Her “Born This Way” producer, Fernando Garibay , also tweeted some love for Gaga. “Happy Birthday @ladygaga; cause you were Born This Day!!!!” Nicola Formichetti, Gaga’s loyal stylist and Thierry Mugler creative director, teased the kind of fun the group was having in honor of Gaga. “So much fun!!!” he wrote . “What a party!! happy birth day my love, gaga!!! #mother monster.” Fellow Gaga collaborator DJ White Shadow , who worked on the track “Government Hooker,” shared a similar sentiment, adding , “Fun birthday party tonight.” Gaga pal Perez Hilton , who celebrated his birthday just days ago, sent some love to the pop star on his Twitter. “Hey @ladygaga!
