Darius ‘Deezle’ Harrison Talks Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Lil Wayne, Time As In-House Producer For Cash Money

I guess this is how they keep all of that “Cash Money”, by not paying people!! Grammy-award winning producer Darius ‘Deezle’ Harrison made headlines this year when he filed a reported $20 million lawsuit against Lil Wayne and his Cash Money/Young Money empire. The lawsuit alleged that Wayne and his imprints failed to pay him royalites for one of the rapper’s biggest hits to date “Lollipop”, estimated to have accumulated over $70 million in sales. Since then Deezle, the producer, instrumentalist, singer AND rapper, says he’s been misrepresented in the media as a money-hungry ‘monster’ instead of what he really was—the in-house producer for Cash Money Records after the departure of Mannie Fresh. New Britney Spears ‘Till The World Ends’ Video Hits Web

The re-edited version of the post-apocalyptic party clip features more footage of Spears and her backup dancers showing off their moves. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears in her new “Till the World Ends” video Photo: Jive A dance version of Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends” video has hit the Web just in time for the weekend. The original clip, which premiered earlier this month and got lots of great buzz for Spears, shows the pop vixen leading a wild underground dance party as an apocalyptic storm hits the planet, and the new video features a lot of similar footage with a number of noticeable changes. One of the most conspicuous differences is that the new “Till the World Ends” clip offers a lengthier peek into some of the sleek moves of Spears’ backup dancers. There are definitely more shots of Britney dancing as well, even if sometimes they are obscured in shadow. Interestingly enough, much of the apocalypse storyline has been edited out to make room for those new dancing shots. While the party looks the same, the fact that the world is crashing around them is a nonissue for this version of the Ray Kay-directed video. Rather than focusing on the impending doom outside, this cut displays all the fun down in Spears’ sweaty underground party. As the video closes out, there are shots of her dancers, individually, showing off their skills, intercut with footage of Spears smiling as she sings about getting her party on. The new clip’s ending is entirely different from that of the original. Instead of emerging from her post-apocalyptic party to a sun-drenched world that, well, has not ended, Spears just looks into the camera, still apparently hiding from what is assumed to be some catastrophe that has befallen the Earth. It hints at a darker finish for Spears and her partiers … maybe in this version the world does end. “The real music video is best, of course,” Ray Kay tweeted on Thursday about his re-edited version of the clip. “But it’s fun to watch the choreography too.” Do like like the dance-heavy re-edited version of Britney’s “Till the World Ends” video? Lil Wayne Treats Hometown Fans To Surprise Appearances By Drake, Chris Paul

Weezy, Nicki Minaj soak up the love at New Orleans Arena. By Akshay Bhansali Lil Wayne performs in New Orleans on Thursday Photo: Akshay Bhansali/ MTV News “It’s good to be home, New Orleans,” hometown hero Lil Wayne told the audience after taking the stage at Hornets Arena in the Crescent City. And the sold-out crowd of his birthplace loved him for it. All of Weezy’s I Am Still Music tourmates hit the stage on Thursday night, including Porcelain Black, Mix Master Mike & Travis Barker, and Ricky Rozay Ross, with an appearance by buddy DJ Khaled, each giving it their all, and the crowd was with them ever step of the way. After launching into the first quarter of his performance, “A Milli” and “Got Money” (with fellow Nola MC Mack Maine), Wayne gave the city another series of nods. Before getting into “Go DJ,” Wayne called out to DJ 45, “We in my hometown! You got some bounce for me?” And later, in his homage to fallen hip-hop icons, Wayne called out, “And if you from New Orleans, put your hands up for Soulja Slim,” paying his respect to the late rap star. Nicki Minaj had the audience in a frenzy when, instead of her typical move of choosing an audience member to give a lap dance to, she asked the audience, “So, y’all are Hornets fans? Usually I invite someone from the audience onstage. But today, there’s someone special.” The decibel level in the arena rose exponentially as Chris Paul seemed not too displeased at handling the honors for the night. The famed Hornets point guard sat down with a smile as Nicki did … well, what Nicki does. Young Money was on full display when Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda and Mack Maine joined Wayne for “Every Girl.” Ace Hood came out to perform “Hustle Hard,” his single with Wayne. Lil Chuckee, Lil Twist, Gudda, Mack and Millz came out for “Bedrock,” and Birdman graced the stage for a fiery set of “Fire Flame (Remix).” Then Wayne pulled out his final surprise of the night: bringing out Drake for “Miss Me” and “Forever.” Dreezy relished the chance to speak to his New Orleans fans and once more quell any rumors that he was leaving the Young Money family . “I wanna say one very important thing to you before I go,” Drake said. “I wanna let you know that New Orleans was truly the birthplace of my career. Y’all were the first people to f— with my music, and I recognize that. And just know that I’m Young Money forever, and this is my mother—-ing brother, and I love you, man,” he said turning to Wayne. And just to make sure fans knew when to expect that Carter IV album , Weezy made the audience repeat the date back to him. May 16 it is! Nicki Minaj To Auction Off Pink Camera For Japanese Disaster Relief

‘It’s dope to launch a camera, but we can also give back,’ she tells MTV News at Casio’s TRYX OUT: NYC 2011 launch party. By D.L. Chandler, with reporting by Alvin Blanco Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News Beyond being the hottest female rap artist in some time, Young Money starlet Nicki Minaj also has a heart as big as her ever-growing fame. MTV News caught up with the Pink Friday rapper as she wrapped up a Thursday evening performance at Casio’s TRYX OUT: NYC 2011 launch party at the Best Buy Theater in New York. Minaj — currently traveling with Young Money Records boss Lil Wayne, Maybach Music Group head honcho Rick Ross and rocker Travis Barker on the I Am Still Music Tour — spoke on how she got involved with the Casio camera line launch and also assisting in upcoming relief efforts in Japan by auctioning off an autographed and fittingly pink version of the TRYX camera. “[Casio] told us about an amazing product they were launching and asked if I wanted to be a part of it. I was like, ‘Yeah, of course.’ I did a little bit of research on it and learned how to use it,” Minaj said. “I’m not a big electronics person usually, but it’s really sleek, it’s real sexy, and of course I want to be a part of it.” In a later portion of the interview, Nicki revealed to MTV News that not only does she have her own exclusive pink version of the TRYX camera, but that she will auction it off to help aid in disaster relief efforts in earthquake-ravaged Japan. “This is the Casio TRYX, and this is my baby. This pink — I don’t think this one is in stores yet. I’m going to beg them to put this color in stores because the Barbs and the Ken Barbs need this one,” she said. “I’m actually auctioning this one off for the tsunami relief in Japan. I’m really super excited. It’s dope to launch a camera, but we can also give back. So hopefully we’ll see how well this goes, and it will all go to helping the people out in Japan who are dealing with the disaster.” Minaj has recently been in talks with pop star Britney Spears as a possible replacement for Enrique Iglesias on Spears’ Femme Fatale Tour. Diplomats EP Dropping This Summer, Jim Jones Says

July 4 release will be called Independence Day, rapper tells Vibe.com. By Alvin Blanco The Diplomats’ Jim Jones, Cam’ron and Juelz Santana Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Fans of the Diplomats (Cam’ron, Jim Jones , Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey) are going to have to wait until the summer to hear new music from the Harlem rap conglomerate. Jones has revealed that the Dipset will be releasing a new EP in July. “The difference is the respect level that’s there amongst all of us feels good, it feels hellified,” Jones — whose latest album, Capo, was released Tuesday — told Vibe.com . “We plan on putting out an EP on July 4th called Independence Day, so look forward to that.” Although various Dipset members have mentioned that the group is in the midst of securing a recording contract with Interscope Records, no deal has been confirmed yet. Jones’ previous album, Pray IV Reign, was released via Sony/Columbia Records in 2009. In an interview with Miss Info of Hot 97, the Harlem rapper speculated that Columbia released him from his contract — despite, Jones said, his owing the label $8 million — because of Jay-Z. A then-impending deal with Jay’s Roc Nation label ( Jay bought out his Def Jam contract in 2009) apparently hastened Jones’ exit. “They did a big deal over there … it was called Roc Nation,” Jones told Miss Info. “So they gave me one piece of paper that said I don’t owe them nothing, keep it stepping.” Though Jones never said Jay-Z’s name specifically, the implication is that rather than have Capo and Hova, whose relationship can be described as icy at best, have dealings with the same label, Columbia allowed Jones to walk away despite not recouping the money invested in his music. Roc Nation’s acts on Columbia include Willow Smith and J. Cole. Related Artists The Diplomats

Exclusive: Nicki Minaj In Talks To Join Britney Spears’ Tour

Young Money MC has been a rumored front-runner since Enrique Iglesias dropped out. By Alvin Blanco Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — Nicki Minaj confirmed to MTV News that she is in talks to join Britney Spears on her upcoming tour. We caught up with the Young Money princess before she performed at Casio’s TRYX OUT: NYC 2011 Launch Party at the Best Buy Theater on Thursday night. “I am in talks of joining Britney Spears, yeah,” Minaj said in the British accent of her Martha alter-ego . “I’m in talks about a lot of things, ya know. I don’t know — oops, I did it again.” Rumors of the possibility of Minaj becoming the opening act on the singer’s tour promoting Femme Fatale began circulating shortly after Enrique Iglesias dropped out of the lineup . Nicki is currently on the Lil Wayne-headlined I Am Still Music Tour , but that concludes May 1 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, while the Spears tour is scheduled to kick off June 17 in Sacramento, California. The hectic travel schedule — Nicki is set to fly out right after the Best Buy Theater performance to rejoin the I Am Still Music Tour on Friday (April 8) in Greensboro, North Carolina — is the Queens MC’s only qualm about hitting the road. “I’m getting sick every other day,” she said. “That’s the one downside. I keep my dressing room warm, and then of course when we go out to the stage area, it’s freezing cold, and then when we do the afterparty, it’s cold. And then flying and stuff like that. That’s the only downside about touring. It’s just to keep your physical health in order. I was just recuperating from being sick last night and then we flew out here; the plane was freezing, and I think I got sick again. That’s the only downside — that’s the only one.” Would you like to see Nicki on Britney’s tour? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj Britney Spears
