Source: WENN.com / WENN SchoolBoy Q is having a hard time dealing with the death of his close friend Mac Miller , so much so, he’s postponing his forthcoming album. During a recent show in Chicago, the TDE rapper told the crowd that he’s not his “real self” right now, but he’s pushing through because that’s what Miller would want. “I just don’t feel right putting out an album,” he said. “As y’all can tell, I’m not my real self right now…I shouldn’t even be here right now. But like I said, my ni**a Mac would not want me to be in the house sad. He would clown me for some weird sh*t.” Q is also not in the mood to do interviews. “I’m just not ready to walk into the radio station and the first thing they ask me is, ‘So Mac Miller’…I’m not ready to deal with those questions. So, right now, I’m not ready to put out nothing.” Watch him talk about struggling with the late rapper’s death in the clip above. 26-year-old Miller died from an apparent overdose in his Studio City, CA home earlier this month. Source: Derrick Salters/WENN.com / WENN Meek Mill has emerged as an unlikely high-profile figure for the criminal justice reform movement, using his own trials and recent incarceration as fuel to somewhat shift his tough-guy image into activism circles. The Philadelphia rapper was in Washington, D.C. over the weekend for the annual Congressional Black Caucus gathering where he shared details of a new track devoted to Colin Kaepernick. Page Six reports : “They won’t lynch him by hanging from a tree. They lynch his bank account,” Meek said, riffing a few bars and then explaining the takeaway. The song includes lyrics such as, “They told Kap to stand up if you want to play for a team, and most of his teammates said the same thing,” as well as, “Back in the ’30s you would be killed if you kneeled. They won’t kill you now, they just take you out of the deal.” The rapper told The Post that the Kaepernick song will appear on his next album. “I’m not actually giving out a release date, it’s a surprise album,” he said. Meek was present at a Friday (Sept. 15) CBC meeting regarding criminal justice reform where he made the comments about the track. — Photo: WENN
Source: 2016 LACMA Art + Film Gala held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Featuring: ASAP Rocky Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 30 Oct 2016 Credit: Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.com When Under Armour and A$AP Rocky revealed their upcoming collaboration SRLo sneakers last month everyone immediately noticed that the kicks were dead ringers for the skater classics Osiris D3 ‘s. But since the creators of the originals didn’t make a fuss about it everyone went about their business. However, things changed this past weekend and for whatever reason Osiris decided to call out Pretty Flacko and UA for biting their silhouette and took to the ‘Gram to remind everyone “who dropped it first.” The Osiris D3’s originally dropped in the early 2000’s and became a sneaker staple for skaters all across the board. When commenters tried to imply that the Rocky had worked with skater Dave Mayhew, whom many say originally designed the D3’s, Osiris quickly shot that down saying, “nope he didn’t. Brian Reid is the designer of the D3.” So much for that theory. Regardless of who A$AP Rocky worked with or who actually designed the sneaker, Osiris isn’t happy with the A$AP and Under Armour collaboration nor should they be. The SRLo is basically the Osiris D3 ‘s and if Osiris isn’t getting a piece of the pie for something they cooked up a decade and change ago, that’s going to rub them the wrong way. This must be how Gucci felt when Jay-Z and Reebok dropped the S. Carter ‘s in 2003.
Source: Presley Ann / Getty Logic is now a certified an ex-husband. The Def Jam rapper has officially divorced his now-former wife, Jessica Andrea , after about three years of marriage. Reports TMZ : The rapper just got a sign-off from a judge in his divorce case. He was the one who filed, citing “irreconcilable differences” in his marriage to Jessica Andrea . They tied the knot in Oct 2015, when Logic was just 25. As we reported, Logic became “very distant” from Jessica after the success of his track, “1-800-273-8255,” which dropped late last year. Shortly after the 2 appeared at the Grammys together in January, he dropped the news to her he wanted a divorce. He told her he wanted to be single again … news that was not received well by her. Damn, that’s cold. Also, seems like Logic had the gift of foresight since the couple reportedly had a prenuptial agreement that kept things from getting messy. Respect.

D oubts are increasing that law enforcement officials will conduct a thorough investigation into the killing of Botham Jean , an unarmed Black man who was shot dead in his own apartment by a Dallas police officer. SEE ALSO: Botham Jean’s Mother Demands Justice And Calls Out ‘The Devil,’ Amber Guyger S. Lee Merritt , one of the civil rights attorneys representing Jean’s family, retweeted a message on Saturday night from activist Shaun King that’s adding fuel to the concerns. “A key eyewitness told us today that investigators didn’t take a single note when they interviewed her. Said they never called her back. We asked the DA if they had even heard that this witness existed and the DA said the Texas Rangers never even mentioned the witness,” King tweeted. In an earlier post, King said a sixth person joined other witnesses who contradicted Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger ’s version of how the shooting unfolded. BREAKING: Another close neighbor of Botham Jean came forward today to say that they also heard Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger in the hallway, banging on the door, yelling for Botham to open the door. That’s SIX witnesses who say this happened. Debunks her fabrications. — Shaun King (@shaunking) September 16, 2018 Dallas’ Black community had hoped that the conviction in August of a white former officer , Roy Oliver , who shot unarmed Black teenager Jordan Edwards in the head was a turning point in the city’s long history of cops going unpunished for killing Black people. But the investigation into the slaying of Jean suggests to many that things have not changed, the Dallas Morning News reported. “We consider that to be progress. But whether it’s precedent or some kind of aberration, only time will tell,” John Fullinwider , co-founder of Dallas’ Mothers Against Police Brutality, said of the Oliver verdict as he attended Jean’s vigil. Many have complained about the police giving Guyger special treatment. She has stated multiple and conflicting versions of the circumstances that led to the shooting. Guyger claimed that she mistakenly entered Jean’s apartment, thinking that it was her own place, and shot 26-year-old Jean. It took days for law enforcement officials to arrest her. Neighbors have said they heard Guyger banging on Jean’s door , but the officer has claimed that it was open when she entered. “If she had been arrested like anyone would be, the community would have felt a little more at ease. There’s no story, of the multiple stories she’s told, that should not have prompted an arrest on the spot,” said Edwin Robinson , executive director of the religious-based network Faith in Texas. Source: Josh Blanchard / FilmMagic/FilmMagic for HBO Lawrence is back on Insecure, but we knew that! We pick up tonight’s episode from last week’s awkward post-Coachella run in between Lawrence and Issa and they exchange minor pleasantries about what they’ve been up to. Of course, they both downplay life but it seems that Lawrence has been quite the busy bee, smashing and dashing literally everyone with a vagina. He’s basically still trying to sex the post-breakup pain away. But unfortunately for him, he got chlamydia in the process. Hold that thought. Meanwhile, Issa is working on throwing a block party as a new business venture to help do something positive in her neighborhood. This is a move that was inspired (in part) and supported by Nathan. So far he really seems to be in Issa’s corner and they have a sweet moment where Nathan asks her how she knows when it’s real and then he tells her that he really likes her. Issa’s like is mutual and in her world, you just know when it’s real. So there’s that. #NathanNavy be like… via GIPHY Back to Lawrence. He links up with Chad and Derek to talk about life and he admits that he’s embarrassed by his behavior lately and really wants to make a change. Calm down, he and Issa becoming a thing probably again isn’t happening. He reveals that he no longer has ill feelings toward her, but he also hasn’t looked at her the same way since she cheated. Chad’s stupid arse has the nerve to call Issa a hoe but Lawrence calls him out because he’s definitely a cheater too. The fuq?! Anyway, Issa Rae once mentioned that this season will examine toxic masculinity and we are definitely seeing bits and pieces of that surface because Chad tried it. You can’t be the pot calling the kettle black. via GIPHY Back to Issa. She gets a call from Lyft saying there’s an open investigation involving an assault in her vehicle. Remember when Nathan faded that big disrespectful dude? Yeah, that. Issa texts Nathan and mentions that but he doesn’t even respond. via GIPHY Now we’re at Tiffany’s baby shower where Issa, Molly and Kellie meet Tiff’s bourgie friends, whom she refers to as “the crazy crew,” who also planned the shower. They don’t really know these girls and this is where drama in the inner friend circle starts to unfold. At one point, Kelli storms out of the shower causing Issa and Molly to run after her. Kelli reveals that feels like she’s losing her best friend to a baby, but you also wonder if there’s some jealousy there too. You know, Kelli acts tough and all, but perhaps she wants family life too? Anyway, Tiffany finds them and asks swithat’ up and they all mention that they feel some type of way about not being asked to plan the shower. Tiffany says they were so caught up in their own life drama and didn’t even offer so she felt her other girls, particularly Blaire, who is a mother, would actually be more helpful. Tiffany mentioning Blaire makes Kelli feel worse because it’s rubbing in the fact that she’s not a mother. There are fractures in this group and we haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. Lawrence and Issa com face to face again and talk. It’s not awkward this time and Lawrence even offers to help Issa with some of the business nuances of the block party she’s planning. Cheers to growth. Molly finds out that Dro’s wife is pregnant (Dro and his wife are at the shower) and definitely feels some type of way but it’s hard to feel bad for Molly because just earlier she was playing Andrew, Nathan’s Asian friend that she met at Coachella who is clearly interested, to the left. via GIPHY Finally, the episode ends with Issa getting a call from Lyft to let her know that they closed the investigation. They spoke to Nathan and he gave them a statement. Now Issa is really like wtf because she still hasn’t heard from him. So like…did this grown arse man ghost her? Are we still ghosting over 30? via GIPHY So much for the #NathanNavy. via GIPHY RELATED POSTS ‘Insecure’ Recap: Houston Bae Is Gonna Hurt So Good ‘Insecure’ Recap: Issa Makes Moves To Move Out Of Daniel’s Place
