Recently rehabbed actor’s car veered into oncoming traffic, TMZ reports. By Kara Warner David Arquette Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images Actor David Arquette was involved in a head-on collision Friday (March 4) while driving in Los Angeles. According to TMZ , the recently embattled actor was driving in West Hollywood, California, when his car veered into oncoming traffic. A photograph posted on the site shows Arquette lying on his back in the grass with his eyes closed and his hands crossed over his chest. The gruesome description from TMZ reads that Arquette is allegedly injured, “lying on the ground right now — bleeding — as fire trucks are racing to the scene.” Given the developing nature of this report, there has been no official statement or comment released by the actor’s team that addresses Arquette’s current condition. The “Scream 4” actor has had a difficult few months beginning last October when he and his wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox, announced their plans to separate . Since that announcement, Arquette spent time at a rehabilitation facility to deal with alcohol abuse and “other issues.” “Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” Arquette said during one of a series of revealing interviews with friend and radio host Howard Stern. “I’ve been drinking a lot because I’m heartbroken. It’s really a personal, traumatic thing. … When I drink, I become a maniac.” Arquette had previously revealed to Stern details about his sex life with his ex and his distress over the separation. At the time he checked into rehab earlier this year, Courteney Cox told People magazine, “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”

Rob Margolies worked with embattled actor on indie comedy ‘She Wants Me,’ in which Sheen plays an outsize version of himself. By Eric Ditzian Charlie Sheen Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images Last October, after being handed the script for “She Wants Me” by a friend and producer on the indie comedy, Charlie Sheen signed on to play a small role — an outsize version of himself also named Charlie Sheen. He shot his scenes over the course of a few days, and according to writer/director Rob Margolies, was “on time every day and really reliable and always in a good mood.” But speaking to MTV News on Wednesday from Los Angeles, where he’s in post-production on the movie, the filmmaker said that the Sheen he’s seen in countless recent TV interviews — talking about melting faces and armless children on “Good Morning America,” for example — bears little resemblance to the man who was nothing but professional on set. “Charlie wasn’t like that at all,” Margolies said. “He was completely in control and not on the defensive. No one ever felt uncomfortable. My personal opinion of him has not changed. I hope he gets the help he needs. I believe in him and wish him the best.” Back in the fall — shortly before Sheen’s life took a turn for the worse following a drug-and-porn-star-filled incident at the Plaza Hotel in New York — the actor was having so much fun on the set of “She Wants Me” that he asked Margolies to write another scene in which he could appear. But Margolies declined, telling MTV News additional screen time would have felt artificial and detracted from the original appearance. The film focuses on a couple — he an aspiring filmmaker, she a struggling actress — who move to Los Angeles. A friend of theirs, also an actress trying to make it big, lands a starring role in a Charlie Sheen film and claims she’s even dating him. The couple thinks she’s nuts, until the “Two and a Half Men” star actually shows up one day. His three scenes last about five minutes, according to Margolies. Though the extra scene Sheen requested never came to pass, the actor nonetheless agreed to help finance the production and was rewarded with an executive-producer credit. “He came onboard and gave us a last-minute sum of money to finish the movie in post,” said Margolies, adding that the overall budget was “well under half a million dollars.” They wrapped principal photography last year, shot some pickups in January and hope to put the finishing touches on the film by May with an eye toward selling the flick to a studio. Margolies himself hasn’t been in touch with Sheen in recent weeks, but one of his producing partners has reached out to the embattled star. “They’re close friends, and he’s concerned for him,” he said. While Margolies didn’t offer a hypothesis for what might be ailing Sheen at the moment, he did say he understands why he appears to be so erratic in recent interviews. “He seemed like he was on the defensive in the interviews,” the filmmaker said. “I think he’s just caught off-guard and scared. It’s a result of him feeling like he’s being judged. Most people who are being judged act up. It’s a defense mechanism. I don’t think that’s in direct relation to who he is at all.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Ever since CBS shut down production on Two and a Half Men , unemployed star Charlie Sheen has been filling his days with lunatic interviews , lunatic death threats and lunatic Twitter missives ). All of that crazy is fine and exciting for the world, but at the end of the day, it is not making the actor any money. As such, Movieline HQ has compiled nine feasible jobs for the Major League thesp in the coming year. Ready to really start winning, Charlie?
Charlie Sheen may have gone to sleep last night in the same bed as his goddesses , but he also did so in a household bereft of his children. That’s because a judge granted Brooke Mueller a restraining order yesterday and the police responded by removing two-year olds Bob and Max from their father’s home. Sheen may not come within 100 feet of them until a hearing on March 22. What warranted this action? What has Sheen be accused of in Mueller’s filing? TMZ has obtained the document , which alleges… Sheen spit on Brooke’s feet and “punched” her in the arm during their Bahamian vacation. Charlie demanded from Brooke the $20,000/month in child support he pays due to his need for “untraceable cash to knock off a few people because the people I hate violently are going to get severely punished.” During a recent confrontation, Sheen referred to he and Brooke’s 2009 domestic violence dispute in Aspen and said; “I should have killed you when I had the chance!” Sheen made it clear to those around him that he “hated Denise Richards” and “was going to have her hair shaved off.” Screamed the actor at one point in the Bahamas last week: “I’m untouchable! I’m Charlie Sheen! I’m more famous than Obama!” Overall, Mueller wrote to the court: “I believe his rage is the result of an intense mental issue.”
While the actor defiantly tweeted about ‘winning,’ his sons were reportedly removed from his home. By Gil Kaufman Charlie Sheen Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images It’s been hard to turn on a TV or a radio over the past week and not see or hear Charlie Sheen . The “Two and a Half Men” star has been on an epic tear since production of the #1 sitcom on TV went dark following his tirades against its creators. And though he’s paid visits to the “Today” show, “20/20,” Howard Stern, Piers Morgan’s CNN talker and a half a dozen other outlets, Sheen apparently felt that the message about his tiger-blood-pumping veins and live-in goddesses wasn’t being heard loud enough, so he did what any self-respecting attention-seeking celeb does: He joined Twitter. But this is the highest paid actor on TV we’re talking about, so it stands to reason that within the first 24 hours he racked up hundreds of thousands of followers. How do you know it’s really Sheen? Other than the fact that the @charliesheen account is verified, you need only look at the bio to know that it’s Chuck himself. “Born Small… Now Huge… Winning… Bring it..! (unemployed winner…),” it reads, repeating the championship “winning!” soundbite that has become Sheen’s catchphrase . Sheen kicked off his Twitter life with that very phrase, writing on Tuesday, “Winning..! Choose your Vice,” which was accompanied by a photo of him with one of his “goddesses” — ex-porn star Bree Olsen — as they hold out a jug of chocolate milk and a Naked brand juice. Though he hasn’t turned down many bookings, Sheen wrote a short time later, “Just got invited to do the Nancy Grace show … I’d rather go on a long road trip with Chuck Lorre in a ’75 Pacer,” he said, at once dissing the creator of “Men” and the pitbull cable talker in one fell swoop. A short time later, he Twitpic’d a photo of himself holding up a placard that read “Oscars 2011,” featuring an image of an Oscar trophy with his head on it, followed by a pic of his hand wearing only watch () that keeps “Warlock” time and what he called the “Class of 1927 ring ‘Bambino U.’ ” Among those sending their love was Diddy, who tweeted to Sheen, “get dressed my man … sending the driver!”
In the latest edition of As Charlie Sheen’s Hilariously Troubled World Turns… Brooke Mueller has responded to the video that depicts her young twins hanging around Sheen’s “goddesses” and taken action to wrestle physical custody of them from her ex-husband. One problem, according to TMZ? She went to the wrong police station to do so. Sheen’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has fired off a letter to Warner Bros. and CBS that demands Sheen gets paid for the full season of Two and a Half Men , lest these companies face legal action. It reads: “Warner Bros. made it clear they wanted Charlie back for two more years, even with the prospect that he could go to jail. They made a deal with him while the charges were pending. But now that Charlie made some disparaging comments about the show runner who had refused to work… they made a decision not to proceed with the show this year. It’s outrageous.” On its own, that statement actually makes a solid argument. Following the uproar over how Sheen referred to creator Chuck Lorre as “Chaim,” the actor has asked for an apology from the Anti-Defamation League for saying the actor exhibited “borderline anti-Semitism” via that comment. Singer has also sent that organization a letter that demands a retraction because his clien’s only intention was to “address the man rather than his television persona.” In what he claims will be his final new interview, Sheen called in to the Howard Stern radio show today. Among the tidbits shared: He’s never made a sex tape. He isn’t worried about returning to Two and a Half Men : “I don’t believe in panicking – panicking is for amateurs and morons.” He thinks CBS President Les Moonves ought to fire Lorre: “Chuck wants out, because he’s burned out. He’s got three shows, and he has forgotten that ours was the one who launched the other two… And he’s trying to make me the fall guy, and he’s not going to do it because his tactics are silly and juvenile, and the work of an amateur. I think the real solution is that Les should just fire him and put me back on, and everybody wins.” But isn’t Sheen already WINNING? Listen to the Stern interview below. ‘Twilight’ star says ‘the media will lose interest’ in his rumored relationship with Stewart when the series ends. By Jocelyn Vena Robert Pattinson on the April 2011 cover of Vanity Fair Photo: Annie Leibovitz / Conde Nast Sure, he graces the cover of Vanity Fair with an alligator, but it’s what Robert Pattinson says inside the magazine that will have his fans drooling. The “Water for Elephants” star, who normally doesn’t say much about Kristen Stewart, opens up about his “Twilight” co-star and rumored girlfriend in the new issue, which hits newsstands March 3. “Kristen is very focused on being an actress,” Pattinson said. “I mean, that’s what she is — she’s an actress. Whereas I — I just don’t really know.” Pattinson also admits that he has admired Stewart for a long time. “She’s cool. Even before I knew her, I thought she was a really good actress. Like, I saw ‘Into the Wild,’ and I thought she was really good in that. I still think there are very few girls in her class that are as good as she is.” He added that all the speculation about their relationship has been “traumatic.” “When this is over,” Pattinson adds of the “Twilight” series, “the media will lose interest [in the relationship]. There’ll be nothing to say. It won’t fit into a headline anymore. It won’t fit into a template.” Pattinson also had some kind words for currently embattled TV star Charlie Sheen, saying he admired the actor’s “little escapades,” adding, “I like crazy people who don’t give a f—. … I’ve just kind of stopped doing everything. I never change the channel in my trailer. I just watch reruns of ‘House of Payne’ and ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I love ‘Cops’ — I think it’s my favorite TV show. … God, I sound like such a loser.” Aside from all the talk about his Hollywood peers, the star also waxed sentimental about his time as Edward Cullen in “Twilight.” “I can’t really understand it even now,” he said of the mania. “It does have an angle which is attached to something quite primal in girls. I guess people want it to define them, like, ‘I’m a “Twilight” fan.’ … I think people really just like being part of a crowd. There’s something just tremendously exciting about hyping yourself up to that level.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
