Robert Randolph: OWNED By John Travolta, Told to Pay Up in Libel Suit

John Travolta just scored a major victory in his legal battle with Robert Randolph, the author of a book alleging same-sex bath house philandering by the actor. Travolta was sued for libel by Randolph, author of You’ll Never Spa in This Town Again , after he claimed Travolta and his attorney conspired to discredit him. Robert Randolph said Travolta and Marty Singer spread lies about his mental health. The court threw out the case back in September, but now a judge has ordered the author to reimburse the Grease star for the entire legal bill – a whopping $139,645.17. Singer, understandably, was excited about the ruling, telling TMZ: “This legal fee award is another complete and total victory for Mr. Travolta. Anyone else who files a ridiculous lawsuit against him should expect a similar outcome.” Doug Gotterba , he’s talking about you, man. Singer has been a busy man this year, with Randolph and Gotterba alleging long-ago Travolta sexual trysts, and two male masseurs claiming he assaulted them. A cruise ship employee made similar claims. At the end of the day, Travolta has come out on top in every legal ruling so far; none of the many rumors that the actor is gay have actually been substantiated. In less salacious news, you should check out Travolta and Oliva Newton-John’s new video ! That thing came out of nowhere, but will be instantly loved by fans.

Ghostbusters 3 Is ‘Closer Than Ever’

Ghostbuster fans have waited for what seems like an eternity for a follow-up, but the spooky adventure comedy is on track for a third apparition 23 years after Ghostbusters II hit the big screen. Speaking with Esquire , Dan Aykroyd said that he and director Ivan Reitman are “closer than we ever have been” to getting the project underway, he noted via Yahoo U.K. One obstacle though is that Ghostbusters I & II star Bill Murray may be a no-show, though Aykroyd and Reitman are holding out that he may just come on board in the end. “I’m not sure Billy [has to sign on] anymore, since he abrogated his rights by sort of saying, two years ago, ‘I don’t want to be involved,'” Aykroyd said according to Yahoo Movies U.K. “The picture company I think had some clause in there that if he actually passed on the third of fourth offer, he no longer has a view of the franchise.” But a Ghostbusters III sans Murray will not be a mortal wound should the likely re-do go ahead. The creative team, he notes, will even leave a space should all work out in the end. “We have to move on, but we’ll always leave a hole for him. He’s always there. He can always come back at any time and be rebuilt into it, as far as I’m concerned. That’s up to his lawyer and the picture company to work out, but creatively, he will always be a part of it.” Continuing Aykroyd added: “If it does not happen, the life of Dan Aykroyd and his family and friends will be quite full without Ghostbusters 3 .” [Source: Yahoo U.K. ]

Bret Easton Ellis Is The Patrick Bateman Of Film Criticism

If American Psycho ‘s Patrick Bateman were a film critic, he’d be Bret Easton Ellis. When he’s not promoting his film The Canyons    — directed by Paul Schrader and starring Lindsay Lohan — on Twitter, Ellis has been blowing shotgun-sized holes in some of the awards season’s biggest films.  The Less Than Zero author contends that  Zero Dark Thirty  director Kathryn Bigelow is “really overrated,” and Les Misérables   makes him miserable. (According to him, it’s an “incomprehensible mess.” )    Life of Pi   fares better, though Ellis would like to see that film’s young star Suraj Sharma get into porn.  Oh yeah, and he also claims that the Academy “hates” The Dark Knight Rises . Below, a sampling of Ellis’ critical stylings, not necessarily in chronological order: Zero Dark Thirty: Kathryn Bigelow would be considered a mildly interesting filmmaker if she was a man but since she's a very hot woman she's really overrated.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 06, 2012 Kathryn Bigelow: Strange Days, K-19 The Widowmaker, Blue Steel, The Hurt Locker. Are we talking about visionary filmmaking or just OK junk?— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 06, 2012 Silver Linings Playbook: “Zero Dark Thirty” might win critics awards but “Silver Linings Playbook” will win the Best Picture Oscar. This is how it always happens…— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 06, 2012 Les Misérables: The film version of “Les Miserables” is so bad that it made me rethink why I ever loved the stage version. 2 hours and 40 minutes of tacky.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 05, 2012 The one actor surviving the incomprehensible mess “Les Miserables” is Eddie Redmayne, who should get an award for avoiding humiliation…— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 05, 2012 Tom Hooper blows just about every song in “Les Miserables” including “On My Own” which I didn't think possible no matter who directed it…— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 05, 2012 Oh yeah and I forgot: “Les Miserables” opens on Christmas Day and (spoiler alert!) just about everyone in it dies. Merry fucking Christmas.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 05, 2012 Life of Pi: Life of Pi is the movie I've thought about the most in 2012. As a writer I can't reconcile with its disturbing reveal: illusion vs. reality?— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 04, 2012 Suraj Sharma gives an amazing and incredibly moving performance in “Life of Pi” and seriously needs to do some porn. Misspelling: my fault.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 04, 2012 Killing Them Softly Based on the terrific source material “Killing Them Softly” doesn't work at all, but the actor Scoot McNairy is now officially on the radar.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 04, 2012 “Killing Them Softly” starring Brad Pitt is one of only eight films in Cinemascore's history to receive an “F” grade but…”Troy” didn't?!?— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 04, 2012 How the Academy will vote: The Academy is going to go for Silver Linings Playbook and not Lincoln.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 03, 2012 The Academy hates The Dark Knight Rises because I sat in that theater that night and listened to the banter in the lobby afterwards.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 03, 2012 There's not a chance in hell that Ang Lee will win best director. That will be a fight between Ben Affleck and David O. Russell. Haneke? No.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 03, 2012 I’m not sure if Ellis’ most recent tweet is a reaction to reaction to his withering perspective, but, as you might expect, he’s unrepentant: Anyone Unfollowing me should have known better and never Followed me in the first place. Wise up: pussies and snowflakes. Get the F over it.— Bret Easton Ellis (@BretEastonEllis) December 06, 2012 Watch your back, Sandy Kenyon. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on Twitter. Brandi Glanville Doesn’t Want Kids Around LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian Fires Back at Ex-Wife

Eddie Cibrian is PISSED at ex-wife Brandi Glanville’s latest missive against LeAnn Rimes, to the point where the actor actually called her out publicly for it. Glanville, who Cibrian left for Rimes, fired off some explosive Tweets this week, claiming son Mason “became extremely ill” after he ate one of Rimes’ laxatives.   It only got worse from there. Much worse. “LeAnn has a severe eating disorder. She has [a laxative] in every purse,” Brandi told Us Weekly . “Mason found one on the floor and thought it was a Skittle!” Glanville also claimed that LeAnn lets 9-year-old Mason’s brother, 5-year-old Jack, ride his bike on “a very busy road where drunk drivers have crashed.” “He doesn’t have a helmet on and he’s driving without his training wheels, which he doesn’t even do at my house,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said. A source said that Glanville is so fed up, she’s planning to forbid her two sons from ever being alone with Rimes, 30. “I’m sure it was great, but they don’t even realize that they’re in danger.” When Eddie got wind of this rant, he fired off a statement to Radar . “It is absolutely ridiculous that my ex-wife continues to put the personal lives of myself, LeAnn, our sons and my family on public display for the sake of her notoriety,” he said. “She is fully capable and has the means of contacting myself and LeAnn privately to discuss any matter concerning the children.” Cibrian went on to argue that their kids are perfectly safe with Rimes, who he wed last year and who “continues to be a loving and positive influence” on them: “The love they have for their ‘bonus mom’ continues to grow each day as we navigate the changes to our family; a fact that Brandi cannot argue as she herself has stated as much.” “If my ex-wife truly cared about the welfare of our sons, she would stop the constant bashing on an important person in their lives and focus on productive co-parenting.” That, he says, will “make our blended family the strongest it can be.” The war of words really heated up this week, with Cibrian reportedly emailing Brandi Glanville and saying “Grow up already and for once, PUT THE KIDS FIRST!” Her response: “MAN THE F**K UP Eddie put the tequila down and be a proper parent.” Nothing further from LeAnn or Eddie’s camp … for now.

Frankie Muniz Stroke Reports Accurate: Actor Hospitalized, in Good Spirits

Despite sounding like your textbook Twitter hoax, reports that Frankie Muniz suffered a stroke Friday were correct. The actor confirmed as much on Twitter. “I was in the hospital on Friday. I suffered a ‘Mini Stroke,’ which was not fun at all,” Muniz tweeted Tuesday . “Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!” The Malcolm in the Middle star, who turns 27 tomorrow, did not reveal any more details. He is, however, in good spirits, tweeting about his band Kingsfoil’s upcoming shows. “Next Sunday my band is playing a show close to where I grew up in Teaneck, NJ at Mexicali Live!,” the actor says. “Hope to see my old friends and family!” It’s unclear what a mini-stroke entailed for Muniz, but it must’ve been scary (“not fun” feels like an understatement) and we hope it was just a freak, one-time thing. Here’s wishing Frankie a speedy and full recovery. [Photo: WENN.com]

Doug Gotterba Sues John Travolta, Asserts Right to Talk About "Steamy Affair"

The former pilot who alleges a gay affair with John Travolta, Doug Gotterba , says he never signed a confidentiality agreement, as the actor’s lawyer has asserted. Gotterba, who claims he served as Travolta’s pilot from 1981-1987, made headlines this year when he spoke at length about their relationship during that time. He is not the cruise ship guy or one of the masseurs alleging sexual assault on Travolta’s part; rather, he says their love was warm, passionate and consensual. A ” secret boyfriend ” with whom he had a “steamy affair,” to use his words. Doug Gotterba says after he divulged details, Travolta’s camp unleashed a media/legal tidal wave, one that infringed upon his right to … talk to the tabloids. Doug claims Singer threatened to sue him for violating a confidentiality agreement he signed when he stopped working for John – a pact Doug says doesn’t exist. Gotterba claims he did sign a termination agreement , but it didn’t include anything about confidentiality, and thus, he should be allowed to talk about John at all. Singer says Gotterba’s lawsuit is “ridiculous” because he DID sign such an agreement, and his claims are utterly without merit anyway. Stay tuned. John Travolta: Gay?   Yes, it could not be more obvious. Maybe, you have to wonder. No, of course not! View Poll »

Peter Jackson Still Working On ‘The Hobbit’ As New Clip Appears

December 14th is the day when Peter Jackson will unleash the first of his Hobbit films, but that doesn’t mean it’s practically in the can. Jackson is bunkering down in the Park Road Post Production facility in Wellington, New Zealand to finish up the first in the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey . “It’s due to be completed literally two days before the premiere. Hopefully,” Jackson comments in the film’s latest production video (below). “You’re going to see a lot of sleep-deprived people in this blog — everybody’s working around the clock to get the film finished.” The behind the scenes look shows Jabez Olssen and Jackson editing the film, final construction of hundreds of CGI shots and working on sound effects for the feature which stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Cate Blachett and Elijah Wood. “We’ve got another three weeks…and then another couple films,” Jackson said. “The journey’s long from over, it’s just really starting.” Meanwhile, a new clip from the film also rolled out. The scene shows Gandalf (Ian McKellen) giving a magical sword to Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman). It’s rather quick and Gandalf seems to forewarn of its pending need.
