I discovered in late February that Selena Gomez was in my town filming her movie, Spring Breakers. All of my friends wanted to meet her, so did I. After the first few weeks of her being here, I gave up my search for her. But then, something more amazing then anything I had ever experienced happened. My father and I went out to dinner on a Saturday night (3/10/12) at a restaurant downtown where I live. We walked in and sat down, then my whole night made a massive turn. I was walking to the restroom when I saw Justin Bieber, his bodyguards and Selena sitting at a table. I didn’t know what to do. I freaked out and sat back down. When they left I followed them out and I yelled asking if I could please have a picture? Justin’s bodyguard said no, but Justin hugged me and said yes anyway. We took a picture and then he hugged me again. The best part was, I was the only fan there! It was an adult restaurant so I was very lucky to be there. Justin was super nice. Just 10 days after being hospitalized and placed in a medically-induced coma as the result of a heart attack in Texas, the veteran comedian suffered yet another one last night, his rep confirms. According to TMZ, Gallagher ran out of his heart medication, felt chest pains coming on again and was rushed to a hospital in Arizona. He’s in stable condition says his rep, who released the following statement: “Gallagher suffered a mild heart attack today at a hospital in Sedona due to complications from his previous heart attack. He is awake and resting comfortably now.” Gallagher initially planned on continuing his tour after the first incident, but then told friends he was retiring from the business. Based on this follow-up hospitalization, it’s clear he’s making the right choice. We wish the watermelon-smashing funny man all the best.

On Wednesday (November 2), Mother Monster announced she’s launching the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to further inspire young people. The pop superstar is even getting some help from her very own Mother Monster, Cynthia Germanotta. “My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation,” Gaga said in a statement about the foundation, which takes its name from her hit single and album . “Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment.” The foundation will work with a number of partners, including the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. According to the statement, the foundation will focus on “youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change.” Gaga has been a leader in shedding a light on the issue of bullying. She met with President Obama at a fundraiser in September to talk about the bullying epidemic, after she was touched in particular by the suicide of bullied 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer . “The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted when news of the teen’s death broke in September. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went on to post Rodemeyer’s “It Gets Better” video, urging that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.” Lady Gaga isn’t the only pop star using the public spotlight to give back. On Tuesday, Justin Bieber announced the creation of his Believe Charity Drive and noted that partial proceeds from the sale of his brand-new Under the Mistletoe album will be donated to charitable organizations.
