Lady Gaga Rumor of the Week: Singer Had Leg Amputated "To Be Different"

There are so many rumors surrounding Lady Gaga, it’s hard to take any of them seriously … although she’s so out there, sometimes it makes you wonder. Lest we forget the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite story last summer. Talk about serious legs. In fact, there are still people convinced this urban myth is legit. Still, the rumor going around that the singer had a leg amputated below the knee, apparently because she wanted to look different, seems far fetched. Until she confirms it in a sit-down with Barbara Walters, we’re going to put it in the false category. Although whoever started it gets props for creativity. “I just had this much leg amputated …” As the rumor goes, Gaga had a cosmetic amputation surgery and before long, she will personally make the announcement to fans … or unveil it in avideo. Depends which version of the rumor you read, we suppose. While Lady Gaga’s fashion sense is as wild as it gets, and we can see some amputation-themed live performance of some kind, this has gotta be a hoax . Being different is one thing. Hacking off a limb is quite another. Who would want that? And what kind of doctor, save Conrad Murray, would agree to do it?

Archie Comics Introduces Gay Character

comics101 Longest running American comic book, Archie, is introducing an openly-gay character in the name of Kevin Keller. Kevin Keller is described as a “hunky new kid” by the New York Daily News.  His character will make debut in the September issue of the Archie universe’s “Veronica” comic book. The storyline for the said issue would  introduce Keller as a romantic interest of already-established character Veronica Lodge, who seems confused as to why Keller appears immune to her flirty nature and charm. It’s later revealed through a dialogue with another character that Keller is gay. Since the announcement was made to include Keller in the comics, Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater says his voicemail has been flooded with messages, mostly of support for the new character. It’s unclear whether Keller’s introduction will be temporary as an introduction to a hot-button social issue or whether Keller will be a permanent fixture in the Archie universe. L.A will have Cost Cutting Plans Implemented

“There are no easy decisions or simple ways to solve this budget crisis,” Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said. “But as the CEO of this great city, it is my responsibility to make these difficult, but necessary, decisions to steer the city out of this crisis and onto solid financial ground.” These words came L.A’s mayor who has announced Tuesday for a plan to shut down all city services — except for public safety and revenue-generating positions — twice a week beginning Monday in an effort to solve the city’s budget crisis. Day before this announcement, the Department of Water and Power said that they will not pay the city’s $73 million general fund. City Controller Wendy Greuel said, the city’s general fund will be negative $10 million on May 5 because of this. She called the situation “the most urgent fiscal crisis” in the city’s recent history. She urged the mayor to transfer $90 million from the city’s reserve funds so that she could pay city employees and the city’s bills.
