Justin Bieber Tells Ellen DeGeneres He’s ‘Dating Around’

He also reveals his hair secrets: ‘I get out of the shower, I blow-dry it, and it’s done in five minutes.’ By Kara Warner Photo: Warner Bros. When it comes to landing teenybopper stars, Ellen DeGeneres has been on top of her game. Hot on the heels of last week’s appearance by YouTube sensation Greyson Chance , DeGeneres was visited by Justin Bieber on Monday afternoon (May 17). Their lively exchange included talk about crazy fans, spending time with Miley Cyrus and Bieber’s trademark glossy locks. The talk-show host started things off by asking Bieber how he handles the constant screaming and assorted fandemonium associated with his public appearances. “We’ve had some crazy stuff,” he admitted but brushed off fan antics as par for the course, saying, “It can get a little crazy sometimes, but we have tight security. … I’m having fun. Teenage boy on the road, havin’ fun.” DeGeneres then ventured into more personal territory and asked the 16-year-old pointed questions about his dating life. “I’m dating around,” he said. “Hanging around with girls, but not really dating.” “Like hanging around with Miley Cyrus?” DeGeneres pushed, while showing the audience a paparazzi photo of Cyrus and Bieber together. “[I’m] just, like, hanging out with people,” Bieber responded. “With Miley Cyrus?” DeGeneres asked again. “Yeah,” Bieber said, smiling, uncomfortable with answering the question directly. “And just … people.” The cheeky host eventually let up, suggesting that he and Cyrus should at least record a duet together. She then changed the subject to Bieber’s hairdo, wondering how long it takes him to get ready every morning. “Like five minutes,” Bieber said. “Like seriously. … I get out of the shower, I blow-dry it, and it’s done in five minutes. I just shake [my head].” DeGeneres then readied the audience for Bieber’s performance of his hit song “Baby,” but before going to commercial, she held up some scissors and announced that she was going to cut “just a little” bit of the pop star’s hair. Bieber politely, and a little anxiously, declined. Did you catch Bieber’s “Ellen” appearance? What did you think about his Miley answers? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Justin Bieber

Shia LaBeouf Admits He Didn’t Like ‘Indiana Jones’ Sequel

‘I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved,’ actor says, days after dissing ‘Transformers’ sequel. By Adam Rosenberg Shia LaBeouf at the “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” photocall at Cannes on Friday Photo: Lorenzo Santini/FilmMagic Were you one of the many “Indiana Jones” fans left disappointed by the 2008 outing “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”? You’re not alone: Star Shia LaBeouf counts himself among the haters. The actor, who only last week told gathered reporters at the Cannes Film Festival that he “wasn’t impressed” with last summer’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” made some equally frank statements over the weekend about his contribution to the Harrison Ford-starring action/adventure series. “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished,” he said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven [Spielberg, who directed]. But the actor’s job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn’t do it. So that’s my fault. Simple.” Perhaps most refreshing about the actor’s comments is his respect for the audience. LaBeouf is aware of the perception that’s out there and he’s not afraid to address it directly. “I think the audience is pretty intelligent. I think they know when you’ve made [crap],” he said. “And I think if you don’t acknowledge it, then why do they trust you the next time you’re promoting a movie?” It’s an unusual display of honesty in an industry that is typically driven by studios and publicists fighting hard to control their message. “I’ll probably get a call,” LaBeouf said. “But [Spielberg] needs to hear this. I love him. I love Steven. I have a relationship with Steven that supersedes our business work. And believe me, I talk to him often enough to know that I’m not out of line. And I would never disrespect the man. I think he’s a genius, and he’s given me my whole life. He’s done so much great work that there’s no need for him to feel vulnerable about one film. But when you drop the ball you drop the ball.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Paramore Perform ‘The Only Exception’ On ‘Ellen’

Band is wrapping up a spring tour before headlining this summer’s Honda Civic Tour. By MTV News staff Paramore’s Hayley Williams performs on “Ellen” Photo: Warner Bros. On Friday (May 14), Paramore took time off from their spring tour to stop by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where they performed a somber, sweet version of their current single, “The Only Exception.” The performance — actually taped Thursday — showcased Paramore’s burgeoning quiet side, with frontwoman Hayley Williams singing in hushed tones, her eyes tightly shut, and guitarist Josh Farro strumming the melody on an acoustic and singing backup. The band’s other guitarist, Taylor York, added dreamy flourishes on an electric. Bassist Jeremy Davis and drummer Zac Farro played it similarly tight, laying down a muted, pretty backbeat. It was a stately, refined performance, perfectly suited for daytime TV, and at the end, the audience cheered wildly, while Williams did a triumphant jig — apparently there were some real-deal Paramore fans in the crowd, too, as Williams finished her little dance and pointed and smiled to a section of the audience — and DeGeneres herself bounded onstage to thank the band, declaring, “I love them!” She then touted Paramore’s Brand New Eyes album and announced that everyone in the studio audience would be receiving a copy. Paramore will wrap their spring tour Sunday and, after a run of festival gigs in Europe, will return to the States to headline the Honda Civic Tour , which kicks off July 23 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory and Kadawatha will be joining them on the trek. Williams can also be heard singing the hook on B.o.B’s smash “Airplanes,” and she’s already planning to shoot her cameo in the video. Did you see Paramore’s “Ellen” appearance? Justin Bieber Thought About ‘American Idol’

Pop star Justin Bieber said he might have tried out for American Idol if he hadn’t made it as a singer.
