OMFG, East Siders: might Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle be exchanging XOXOs in real life?!? The actress and actor, who portrayed star-crossed lovers Lily and Rufus on Gossip Girl for many years, appear to have taken their romance off screen. At least based on a handful of intimate photos posted to Instagram, such as the following snapshot Rutherford recently included on her account… along with a heart emoticon! The fictional couple didn’t end up together to close out Gossip Girl (ummm… spoiler alert!), but it appears as if Rutherford and Settle are determined to right that wrong in their actual personal lives. There’s even an Instagram fan account documenting Kelly and Matthew’s relationship. It is adorably called Settleford. Things have been far less adorable for Rutherford over the past few years. The beautiful actress filed for bankruptcy in the summer of 2013; and she was involved in one of the more tension-filled custody battles in recent Hollywood memory back in 2009. If you’ve read any celebrity news headlines in the last week, the events playing out on VH1’s Couples Therapy Season 5 Episode 8 felt a bit like art imitating life. The breakup of Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell was a long time coming. Many would call it something of a surprise that they lasted it as long as they did. Still, even if you were to watch Couples Therapy online and have no idea that this romance has since ended, you would get the impression that it was inevitable. We pick up with Juan Pablo bringing up the Fantasy Suite from The Bachelor, implying that Nikki’s issues stem from the fact that he took three girls in there. That’s totally not the point, which says a lot about him, as does the fact that he won’t come to her defense when Cicely oversteps during an argument. Basically, Juan Pablo is the worst boyfriend ever, and while Nikki attracts her fair share of criticism from the ladies in the house, this fact is undisputed. Dick Donato, of all people, reaches out to Nikki Ferrell, and after their surprising heart to heart, she seems to realize how effed up her relationship really is. Nikki looks within herself and realizes that, deep down, he might not be making her happy – not surprising, considering he’s using her for fame and relevance . Juan Pablo later demands an emergency session with Dr. Jenn, and the two decide they do want to continue working on their relationship, together. Since we already know it’s over and who dumped who and why (which isn’t surprising), it’s hard to muster any sort of real emotion for this climactic scene. Meanwhile, Treach’s reunion with his dad, Kent, provides for the real emotional crux of the episode, even if it won’t get the headlines Nikki and Juan provide. Treach hasn’t seen his dad in more than 30 years. He doesn’t know if he was alive. His own shortcomings as a father are hard to hear, and emotional. Couples Therapy Season 5 Cast Photos 1. Dr. Jenn wants to invite his father for a session and he agrees. It goes well at the onset, but soon, Kent is not quite giving him the answers he seeks. Kent is not really taking responsibility for leaving, nor apologizing. He doesn’t seem like he cares and that rejection is too much for Treach to bear. Ever since the world first learned that June Shannon is dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel , it’s been widely assumed that Shannon’s youngest daughter would be removed from her care one way or another. Shannon is in danger of losing custody of her three youngest children. But even if the current investigation by the state of Georgia finds that “Mama June” is a fit mother, surely Sugar Bear Thompson – father of 9-year-old Alana – will do everything in his power to gain full custody, right? Not necessarily. Sources close to Sugar Bear tell TMZ that as of right now, he has no plans to fight for custody of Alana (better known to fans as Honey Boo Boo). Sugar Bear apparently believes he would not be able to provide a suitable home for Honey Boo Boo as he has been living with friends ever since he and Shannon broke up last month. Insiders say Sugar Bear is pissed at June for exposing his daughter to the man who molested her sister, but he feels there’s little he can do about it at the moment. He reportedly fears that if he convinces a judge that Honey Boo Boo isn’t safe at home and then he’s found to be an unfit father himself, then Alana might end up in state care. However, sources say that if Shannon continues to bring McDaniel into her home, then Thompson will take his chances in court with the belief that any living situation would be better than allowing his daughter to share a roof with someone as dangerous as McDaniel.
