The Bachelorette Recap: Heartbreak, Jealousy and Tankless Water Heaters

Romance. Resentment. Tears. The Bachelorette brought it all last night, with Ashley Hebert narrowing the season’s field to the lucky final four suitors. The eliminations were a bit surprising, but there is no clear favorite heading into the hometown dates, which must always be referred to as such. So who got the golden ticket home and who got the chop? Who whined way too much and who handled their ouster remarkably poorly? The episode also featured a sad interview with Emily Maynard, which we’ve posted below, in which she confirms her breakup with Brad Womack. Emily Maynard Confirms Split with Brad Womack

Remove that .01% from the equation , readers: Emily Maynard and Brad Womack are most definitely over. “We’re no longer engaged,” Maynard says in the latest issue of People . The statement came just minutes after she taped an interview with Chris Harrison that will air on the July 11 episode of The Bachelorette . With speculation growing every week over Emily and Brad’s status, Maynard says she’s confirming the couple’s split now because she wants her life with six-year-old daughter, Ricki to “get back to normal.” Womack, who will NOT appear on camera next month with Maynard and Harrison, also told People he and Emily were over, sating: “The demise of our relationship was completely my fault.” But Emily isn’t interested in assigning blame: “Just because we love each other doesn’t mean we’re right for each other,” she says. Competing for Brad Womack’s attention on The Bachelor, Ashley Hebert turned to food to cope with the stress. Soon enough, she’d packed on 10 pounds. For a petite, 5’2″ girl, that’s a fair amount. Fortunately, Ashley changed her diet and exercise habits to lose the weight in time for her upcoming wedding to her dreamy mystery fiance (follow this link for The Bachelorette spoilers if you care to know who that is). Those 10 pounds weren’t the extent of Ashley’s self-esteem battle . Despite the misleading cover above (she was called those things as part of a comedy roast, after all), there’s no question she has legitimate insecurities. The way Bentley Williams messed with her, how could she not? Fortunately, with the show behind her and a bright future ahead, things are looking up. Ashley Hebert is engaged , and mentally and physically, just so healthy! “It’s a new, enlightened me. I’m happy. Casey Anthony Motion to Dismiss Case: Denied!

After the prosecution rested in the Casey Anthony trial, the judge denied the defense’s motion for acquittal on the Florida woman’s murder charge. Judge Belvin Perry said the state presented “substantial, competent evidence” that Anthony’s daughter Caylee was slain and she was responsible. The defense now must proceed with its case on Thursday. Anthony faces three charges, including first-degree premeditated murder. She had no reaction in the Orlando court when the motion was denied. Her attorney, Cheney Mason, had argued that prosecutors failed to present evidence that a murder had even occurred, premeditated or otherwise. “There has been no evidence of premeditation,” the lawyer said . “There has been a stacking of inferences. A stacking of speculation. No evidence.” “There is no evidence to suggest when she died, where she died, how she died, who if anyone was in attendance with her when she died.” The state, he added, established only that “the child is dead.” In denying the motion to toss the case, the judge begged to differ and concluded there is compelling evidence Caylee Anthony was murdered . Her mother, while innocent until proven guilty, is on trial for a reason. Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick argues that Caylee Anthony died as a result of “three pieces of duct tape applied to her nose and mouth, as a result of poisoning by chloroform [and] as a result of a combination of the two.” Gruesome stuff to say the least.

Ashley Hebert Engaged to Bachelorette Winner, Report Says

The Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert is happily engaged, according to new reports. Who’s the lucky guy? That you’ll have to wait ’til August 1 to find out … or read The Bachelorette spoilers we’ve posted that have been 100 percent true so far . In any case, it’s good to hear the happy news, seeing as Ashley Hebert nearly lost hope after Bentley Williams stabbed her in the heart. Figuratively that is. This week’s Life & Style cover story says that Ashley did shake off Bentley’s betrayal eventually, and is engaged to the man she gave her final rose to. On a secluded Fiji island May 13, the last remaining hopeful got down on one knee and proposed with a stunning diamond ring (Neil Lane, obvi). “Ashley’s elated,” an insider reveals to the celebrity gossip publication. “She’s engaged to the winner and is now wearing her engagement ring.” “I’m happy with the way things turned out for me,” Ashley says. This is no Brad-Emily situation, either. Weeks after filming has wrapped, “she’s definitely still in the relationship,” confirms a Bachelorette insider. “She says she’s really happy.” while the couple must keep their relationship under wraps until the Bachelorette finale, the lucky winner can’t stop gushing about Ashley, either! “He said, ‘I’m in such a great place in my life, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,'” a show insider says. “He’s the sweetest guy, and he’s very sensitive. He had his heart broken in the past, but he loves being in a relationship.” “He and Ashley have such great chemistry. Jake Pavelka is Bold, Beautiful

After appearing on The Bachelorette, starring as The Bachelor and competing on Dancing With the Stars, Jake Pavelka is trying to launch a real acting career. Today, he appeared on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful . “I play a pilot,” said Pavelka, who is/was a pilot before becoming a professional reality star. “What’s ironic is that it’s harder to play a pilot than to be a pilot!” Jake signs an autograph for someone who needs a hobby . Pavelka was offered the role in part because B&B producer Brad Bell flies planes, too. “He’s a pilot himself and we had a whole lot in common,” says Pavelka. Also soaring is Pavelka’s love life – he and wedding planner Meghan Jones are going strong. If that doesn’t work out, there’s always The Bachelor again. Hey, it worked for Brad Womack. “I read that story that I was begging to be The Bachelor again,” says Jake, who was producers’ backup plan after Kiptyn Locke, Reid Rosenthal, Womack and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (seriously) all turned it down. “That was news to me.”
