Chef Hosts “Canna Dinners” Fusing Pot & High-End Meals A luxe dinner party group is putting “high” in New York’s high-end dining scene. Chef, host and promoter Stan Strong and his partners have created exclusive monthly “#CannaNYC” dinner – bringing a stoned, yet sophisticated dining experience to New York City. For 4/20 – the “CannaNYC” chefs prepared an eight-course meal that included weed at every turn. Strong and his fellow chefs use cannabis-infused oils and butters in the cooking, resulting in dishes like chicken lollipops with pickled vegetables and slow braised beef short rib sliders with shallots and smoked rosemary aioli. Rounding out the menu was crispy catfish tuna tartare with pineapple slaw, and a deconstructed strawberry shortcake for dessert. More than 100 people gathered at a secret location in New York City for the late night feast on April 20, which considered the unofficial pot holiday for many weed enthusiasts. “You’ve got food, you’ve got entertainment, and you’ve got marijuana,” Strong said. “It’s the best combination you can come up with.” The chef said he and his partners started the dinners a year ago after noticing a lack of options for the discerning weed smoker on a night out. “Being a chef, to intertwine the two, weed and food, was a no-brainer,” Strong said. “It’s a social thing. You could be in a room with doctors, lawyers, police officers, business people, and the drug of choice for everyone is marijuana.” Strong’s diners find out about the “CannaNYC” dinners through word of mouth, though he said there are plans to take the show on the road to different cities. “You’ve gotta hear it through the grapevine,” Strong explained. “If you ain’t part of that tree, you can’t come get some of the fruit.”
Lawsuits: Aaron Hernandez’ Fiancée Sues Prison, Not Believing “Suicide” Story Aaron Hernandez’s fiancee is suing over prison suicide evidence according to TMZ . She wants to secure any evidence that would prove that her allegedly homicidal fiancee wasn’t suicidal. The mother of his daughter reportedly does not beleive he would take his own life in prison. Shayanna Jenkins has concerns that evidence from the ex-NFL’s star’s death could be discarded, so she’s suing the Department of Corrections. Aaron’s attorney, Jose Baez, has already stated his opinion after news of his prison death. He believes Hernandez’s death wasn’t suicide. Baez vowed to run his own investigation to get to the truth and his fiancee Shayanna is now doing her part to help. News Aaron’s suicide spread this week, just days after beating a double homicide charge. Reports of ‘suicide’ note surfaced this week, which Shanaya has not addressed. Splash News Image

Kansas City Royals Fan Sucker-Punches A Woman In The Face Some cowardly piece of s#!t went Mike Tyson on a woman at a Kansas City Royals game according to TMZ . At the beginning of the video you’ll hear a man reference the fact that the woman punched the man first. That really doesn’t matter because at the point where the man attacks the woman, she is already being restrained and clearly isn’t a threat. Basically his bit¢ha$$ sucker-punched her. Check it out. [protected-iframe id=”faee1b3d42a6ecd65e4680508bdc29fe-568005-15257034″ info=”//cdnapisec.kaltura.com/p/591531/sp/59153100/embedIframeJs/uiconf_id/6740162/partner_id/591531?iframeembed=true&playerId=kaltura_player_1413478522&entry_id=0_78g47fpv” width=”664″ height=”421″ frameborder=”0″ style=”width: 700; height: 394px;” webkitallowfullscreen=”” mozallowfullscreen=”” allowfullscreen=””] Whats crazy about this is that the woman says she didn’t suffer any injuries as a result of the punch. What’s sad is that while both were ejected from the stadium, the man was only charged with “disorderly conduct”. For punching a woman. In the face. SMFH. Another angle on the flip. People have a deep, inexplicable love for Starbucks, and so many of them will lose their damn minds over a new beverage. That's a fact, and it's always been a fact, but it's been proven again this week with the release of a new limited edition drink, the fabled Unicorn Frappuccino. If you've been on social media at all in the past few days, you've likely seen reaction videos, reviews, fancy filtered pics of this thing. People are obsessed with it, for whatever reason, and they're lining up at their local Starbucks to try it for themselves. And for one barista, the pressure was simply too much. Braden Burson works at a Starbucks in Colorado, and on his way home from work yesterday, he was so frazzled by the Unicorn Frappuccino that he felt the need to make a video about it. It's enthralling, alarming … it's so many things. He kicked things off in a pretty calm way, explaining that the drink had just come out that day, and that it's a mango-based cream drink with a sour twist — most reviews say it's disgusting, by the way. He said that it's the most popular drink in Starbucks history, which is true, and that people have been clamoring for it. But then, and this is where things get interesting, he has the breakdown. “Please don't get it!” he screamed. “I have never made so many frappuccinos in my entire life. My hands are completely sticky. I have unicorn crap all in my hair and on my nose.” “I have never been so stressed out in my entire life,” he lamented. “If you love us, as baristas, don't order it.” Poor Braden said that the drink is just so difficult to make, and to make one right after the other is tough. It's clear the pressures of the job have gotten to him — seriously, we weren't joking when we said that he loses his mind. We feel for him, but, interestingly enough, you know who else is showing sympathy for him? Starbucks itself! Some people have expressed concern that Braden would get fired over such a rant, but TMZ is reporting that Starbucks is actually reaching out to him to try to figure out how to make things easier on baristas. A happy ending — who would have thought? See the video that started it all below:
In recent years, the name Duggar has gone from a synonym for a certain brand of squeaky-clean family-friendly entertainment to something very different. These days, the name is polarizing at best, or at worst, a byword for the sort of hypocrisies and scandals often found at the heart of the most secretive cults. It’s impossible to separate the family’s controversial religious beliefs from their rise to the the near-top of the reality TV totem pole. After all, a great many of the practices that have made the Duggars fascinating to millions of outsiders are rooted in their faith. Of course, it wasn’t so long ago that the same belief system nearly brought the Duggar empire tumbling down like the walls of Jericho. For as much as we know about some specific details of the Duggar creed (sex is for procreation between man and wife only; women are forbidden to wear pants or hold jobs, etc.), a lot of the larger questions regarding their religion remain sources of debate and speculation. For example, the biggest Duggar-related mystery of all may be a simple but profound one, and have more than one answer: What religion do they even practice exactly? The family has been accused of giving misleading answers when asked the simple question of what faith they belong to. Remarkably, it’s a question that you’ll never hear the Duggar kids – even the grown, married adults – fielding publicly. Instead, they defer to Jim Bob, who’s stated (on the rare occasions he’s addressed the issue himself) that he and his family are Independent Baptists. Despite their name, Independent Baptists are an ultra-conservative lot with little tolerance for personal freedom. They exist on the fringes of American Christianity, and are not a recognized sect, so much as a loose network of individual congregations. Ultra-conservative televangelist Jerry Falwell abandoned the Independent Baptist Church for the more moderate Southern Baptists. That should tell you all you need to know about how extreme the IB belief system is. Amazingly, the Tontitown, Ark., family falls far to the right of even the most conservative Independent Baptists on most issues. This has led many to the conclusion that Jim Bob is taking his cues from somewhere other than the leadership of the IB Church. To answer the question of where the most extreme Duggar beliefs and practices originate, we need to turn our attention to the Quiverfull movement. There’s debate as to who founded the movement, but it’s widely agreed that Quiverfull was popularized by the Reverend Bill Gothard in the late 1970s. In 2015, Gothard resigned in disgrace from his post with the Quiverfull-centered Institute for Basic Life Principles amidst a flurry of sex assault and harassment allegations. He and his organization have shelled out an undisclosed amount of cash to keep the accusers at bay, but dozens of new allegations have surfaced. In just the past couple of years, the movement’s extreme right-wing beliefs have received such negative attention that the Duggars are keeping their distance. At least to the point where they’re hesitant publicly associate with the Quiverfull movement, though there’s no question that they adhere to Gothard’s teachings. First and foremost, the Duggars use Quiverfull teaching materials in homeschooling their 19 children (and counting). They also refer to the spiritual teachings of this movement when addressing topics such as sex and sexual abuse: After the first of Josh’s two sex scandals, which involved the molestation of five young girls, including his sisters, the family tried to deal with it “in-house.” When they sent Josh Duggar to rehab after he was outed as an Ashley Madison client, they chose a faith-based facility with the approval of Gothard’s IBLP. The Duggars cut ties with Gothard (publicly, at least) following allegations that he groped and assaulted dozens of young male and female employees. Prior to that, they called the religious leader a close family friend and “an inspiration” as recently as 2014. The most telling sign that the Duggars are Quiverfull devotees, however, is the fact that it was Gothard who first espoused the notion that defines them: That it is the duty of Christians to have as many children as physically possible. Explains USC assistant professor of religion Cavan Concannon. “In the Quiverfull movement, your kids are blessings from God and they are also weapons in the culture war.” “Some people in the movement would say that part of having a lot of kids is an attempt to birth more conservative Christians in a world that doesn’t have enough of them.” Some have wondered how the Duggars can reconcile their wealth and fame with their devotion to a religion that preaches the importance of poverty and humility. (Recently, Jessa Duggar teaching a seminar on how to dress and act modestly – while charging $20-50 a ticket – illustrated this disconnect.) Simply put, they see themselves as soldiers in an apocalyptic culture war, and they believe that TV is the most important weapon in their arsenal. View Slideshow: 15 Disturbing Things BANNED By the Duggar Family Jesus Christ famously said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” But Bill Gothard basically said, to read between the lines: There’s power in numbers, so let’s tailor my beliefs to help me expand my following through procreation and mass media to boot . While they often talk about putting God first, the Duggars have left little mystery as to which of these messages they value more.
Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 are unique among reality shows, in that the central cast members rarely spend any time together. The show was conceived as a means of chronicling the varying experiences of different teenage expectant mothers in different regions of the US. These days it’s taken on more of a soapy docu-drama feel, but the ladies still live in far-flung regions of the country, in most cases far from any metropolitan cultural centers. A few times a year, however, the entire cast of Teen Mom: OG descends upon New York or LA to record supplemental material or attend an event sponsored by MTV. Last week, all four of the series’ leads flew to Los Angeles for a premiere party celebrating the debut of Teen Mom: OG Three-fourths of the cast (Farrah remains on the outs with the other ladies) hit the town for a sort of mobile after-party after things rapped up, and predictably, things got a wild crazy. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with a few twenty-somethings hitting the town and ingesting some substances now and then, but fans are a bit concerned due to the troubled pasts of two of the ladies who got went out raging that night. If you watch Teen Mom online , you’re probably aware that Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell have both struggled with emotional and substance abuse issues in the not-so-distant past. Portwood went to prison , choosing incarceration over rehab after a series of brushes with the law. Lowell checked into rehab for a number of emotional issues, and decided that she suffers from a “psychological addiction” to marijuana. So it’s a bit surprising that the ladies were decided to chronicle their booze- and weed-fueled night on the town for their social media followers. The above image from Tyler Baltierra’s Snapchat is a little tough to make out, but it appears to show Amber’s fiance, Matt Baier, brandishing a bottle of booze in the back of a limo. It’s one of a few blurry photos from that night, but more telling than the images they posted on social media are the words: “Happy 420 everyone,” Lowell tweeted at one point. “Remember NO smoking and driving! Always remember park and spark!” Lowell recently admitted on Lowell that she’s frequented dispensaries in states where weed is legal (like California). Guess she’s not too worried about that “psychological addiction” these days. As for Portwoord, she’s addressed fans’ concerns about her drinking in the past by explaining that she’s sober from prescription pain pills, and has no issues with booze. We guess if it works for Amber and Catelynn, then who are we to judge? Here’s hoping both of the ladies stay safe. View Slideshow: Teen Mom: HOW MUCH Do The Stars Make?!
It’s been almost three months since Jenelle Evans welcomed her third child , a girl named Enlsey Jolie. Remarkably, the Teen Mom 2 star fittingly dubbed the Carolina Hurricane seems to have settled down a bit in that time, and it looks as though she’s finally found the contentment that eluded her with her first two baby daddies. Of course, this is still Jenelle Evans we’re talking about, which means there’s always some earth-shattering drama lurking right around the corner. The latest soap opera-worthy development involves the question of little Ensley’s paternity. Jenelle is engaged to David Eason these days, but there’s a growing contingent of TM2 obsessives who believe Eason is not Ensley’s father, as he’s been led to believe. Jenelle posted the above photo to her Instagram page last week, and the comments section erupted with speculation as to who the real baby daddy might be. There were varying opinions on the matter, but one name kept coming up more than any other: “She looks like Jace and Kieffer,” one fan commented . “She’s not David’s anyone can see she is mixed,” wrote another. A third added: “Everyday she looks more like Kieffer. Told him he should ask for a DNA test.” Yes, it seems a lot of fans are convinced that Ensley’s father is none other than Kieffer Delp, whom long-time Teen Mom 2 fans will remember as one of the most loser-y of Jenelle’s many loser boyfriends. Evans and Delp broke up way back in 2012, but there have been rumors about them hooking up on the sly in the years since. Jenelle spoke out about the Kieffer speculation in a recent interview, and not surprisingly, she claims it’s all BS: “That’s ridiculous,” Evans told The Dirty, adding that there’s a perfectly good explanation for why Ensley appears to be of a darker complexion: “The filter made her look dark,” she told the site. Ya know, we started off with the stance that the Kieffer business is probably nonsense. But now that Jenelle is denying it, we’re not sure what to think. We tend not to believe anything that comes out of her mouth. Watch Teen Mom 2 online to remind yourself of just how loose Jenelle’s relationship with the truth is.
