Chloë Moretz Should Probably Add Inglourious Basterds To Her Netflix Queue

As part of the wall-to-wall media blitz happening with Kick-Ass at the moment, Movieline’s favorite teenager, 13-year-old Chloë Moretz , gets her due in the New York Times this weekend. The profile (online now, in the paper tomorrow) traverses much of the territory you’d expect — her character, Hit Girl, might curse, maim and kill, but it’s okay because Chloë’s so aware and adjusted! — but does reveal one interesting bit of minutia: Quentin Tarantino is safe for children.

Modern Warfare 2 and Mass Effect 2 Characters Infect Left 4 Dead

I love my homebuilt rig because the PC always wins when it comes to pure customization. Case in point: the clever folks that leveraged the character models from Mass Effect 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and integrated them into the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 . Unfortunately, no one has yet to integrate voice samples in game, but holding back the horde with Ghost or having Tali help you get back on your feet is kinda cool. Nicollette Sheridan Felt "Compelled" to Sue Marc Cherry, Attorney States

Months after her character was killed off Desperate Housewives , Nicollette Sheridan has created the kind of scandal that makes Wisteria Lane the most famous street on television. In court papers filed this week, the actress has accused that show’s creator of assault and wrongful termination. Why did she come out now with the $20 million lawsuit? “Nicollette worked very hard on the show and was a model employee,” said her attorney, Mark Baute. “Mr. Cherry’s behavior towards Nicollette was and is nothing short of abusive and appalling.” Baute’s statement continues, explaining his client’s motivation: “The lawsuit is not something Nicollette wanted to do, it’s something she felt compelled to do. “Nicollette asked ABC for help and protection from Mr. Cherry’s abusive behavior, and ultimately, ABC was not willing or able to provide that protection. “Sometimes the only way that a safe and normal work environment can be created is when a hard-working person like Nicollette stands up for herself and her rights, and in doing so help protect others who have had to work in a hostile environment. “We expect the case to be hard fought, and it will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional. “She put her heart and soul into the role of the Edie character, a character that she truly enjoyed playing.” ABC is on record, saying Sheridan’s allegations are “without merit.” We doubt we’ve heard the last about this case. Do you have an opinion on it?

Coming This Summer: True Blood Comic Books

It was already a series of novel. Then, it became one of the most popular shows on TV. Now, True Blood is taking another step toward its goal of dominating the world of pop culture and entertaining: the graphic novel. Look for a set of comic books to be released this July, each featuring the same characters on the HBO drama, but each focusing on different storylines. Says True Blood creator Alan Ball, the man behind the project: “I’m really looking forward to exploring this new format. Comics have no limitations, things that we could never do on the show because of time and budgetary constraints we can do in a comic. The writers of the show and I are closely involved in the creative aspects of the comic, plotting art stories, characters. “They exist in the same world, but it’s a completely different story than what you will see on TV.” In True Blood spoiler news, meanwhile: check out the first photo of Joe Manganiello as the character of Alcide. He’ll play a major role on the show, whose third season kicks off on June 12.

Nicollette Sheridan Files Lawsuit Against "Desperate Housewives" Exec

A year after being booted from the show, Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against Desperate Housewives executive Marc Cherry and alleges in September 2008, the show’s creator “forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.” According to court documents, Cherry “acknowledged that he had gone too far” and proceeded to “beg forgiveness.” Five months after the incident, it was announced her character, Edie Britt, would be killed off the show in the upcoming fifth season.

Captain America: Chris Evans Confirmed & Bucky Has Been Cast

We’ve gotten some major Captain America news in the past 24 hours. While we may have already learned last week that actor Chris Evans had landed the prestigious title role in The First Avenger: Captain America , it was still sort of classified merely as a “strong rumor.” That status has now been upgraded to iron-clad fact, as Marvel has issued a press release today, which finally confirms his casting. However, that’s not even the big news. Marvel is also confirming the truth of a rumor reported late yesterday by Deadline , that Gossip Girl and Hot Tub Time Machine star, Sebastian Stan has been cast to play Cap’s legendary young sidekick, Bucky . Just a few days ago, the mere existence of Bucky in the film was still something that was up in the air. Now, we not only know he’s in it, but who will play him. Introduced in the 1941 debut issue, Cap’s young sidekick Bucky Barnes was always seen as a sort of “poor man’s Robin.” And much like Jason Todd, the second version of Robin, Bucky’s death was one of those moments in comics legendary for not only its harshness, but for Marvel’s faithfulness to the idea of keeping him dead. As the old saying went, O.B.S.D. (Only Bucky Stays Dead.) However, that venerable saying was squashed when he was revived in the comics as Winter Soldier in 2005. He would even eventually replace Steve Rogers as Captain America when he was famously killed at the climax of Civil War . How will the character of Bucky be handled in the upcoming Avengers prequel? The casting of Sebastian Stan for this character is rather interesting, and may lift the veil a bit, regarding the film’s character dynamics. Stan, at 26, is only about a year-and-a-half younger than Cap’s Chris Evans. If I were to speculate, based on what we now know, it seems that the two will likely begin the film as best-friends, when the opportunity to enter the Super Soldier program goes to Steve and possibly divides their friendship briefly. After Cap becomes infused with his new powers and abilities, he’ll probably enjoys his initial victories, but soon realizes that he still needs his old buddy at his side. So, it looks like we will see more of a situation of the two of them being friends and equals, rather than Bucky being Cap’s 15 year-old “young ward” type who was recruited to help rally youth to enlist in the military and fight the Nazis. In fact, just looking at Stan, it almost seems surprising that he wasn’t up for the role of Cap himself, based on the guys who were once in consideration . (One of which included Stan’s Gossip Girl co-star, Chace Crawford.) What do you think about the choice of Sebastian Stan as Bucky? Does it work? Should they have gone younger/older? Bryce Dallas Howard Featured in ‘Saturday Night’ Magazine

Less than 3 months away until we get to see Bryce Dallas Howard play Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and I’m totally rooting for her to do an amazing job in this role. The actress is featured in Saturday Night magazine’s “Celebrity Spotlight” where she talks about joining the close-knit Twilight cast and the pressure she felt of continuing a role already played by Rachelle Lefevre. SNMag: What has it been like joining the cast of Twilight? BDH: It’s a really extraordinary series and obviously the franchise really reflects what Stephenie Meyer has created with a lot of integrity. She’s so involved with the movies and it is really wonderful. It’s really an incredible storytelling moment. And people are really connecting with and responding to that. So I read the books and I just did my best for the character Victoria. I just wanted to do my best not to interfere with the books. SNMag: Did you feel pressure coming into this, with the character already being established? BDH: Yes, of course I did. Rachelle [Lefevre] did an extraordinary job at creating Victoria and part of the joy of a franchise like this is getting to see not only the characters grow but the actors continuing to grow with the characters. That’s a lot of the joy in the Harry Potter series. Every time I see one of those movies it’s so exciting to see them because they’re all getting a little bit older and different things are happening to them. It’s like watching a TV show. You start to connect with the actors really deeply. It was really unfortunate for everybody that Rachelle left. I did feel, I don’t know if I should say a pressure, but an enormous responsibility because the fans felt really strongly about the role of Victoria and they felt a deep connection to Rachelle, which they should because she is also beautiful and talented. I really did do my best and I hope that whatever work I did can somehow honor what had been created before and what was created by Stephenie. I felt really grateful to this because Rachelle and I have connected. She’s an amazing woman and has been enormously and overwhelmingly helpful. SNMag: What was the shooting like for you? Did you have an opportunity to hang out with the cast and bond with them? BDH: Oh, yes, I mean they’re a very tight-knit group of people who are just wonderful. They’re incredibly authentic and none of them are getting swept up by the mania of this. They just care about each other and are protective of each other. They are just a great group of friends. I feel like all of these people would have been friends regardless. They all bonded through this amazing moment that’s happening in their lives. {via Saturday Night Magazine }
