Elsewhere In World: Train Conductor In Madrid Was Talking On Phone While Doing TWICE The Legal Speed Just Before Fatal Crash!

This guy is beyond finished … Conductor In Madrid Train Crash Was Found To Be Talking On The Phone Prior To Accident Via HuffingtonPost The driver of the train that derailed and killed 79 people in Spain was on the phone and traveling at 95 mph (153 kph) – almost twice the speed limit – when the crash happened last week, according to a preliminary investigation released Tuesday. The train had been going as fast as 119 mph (192 kph) shortly before the derailment, and the driver activated the brakes “seconds before the crash,” according to a written statement from the court in Santiago de Compostela, whose investigators gleaned the information from two “black box” data recorders recovered from the train. The speed limit on the section of track was 50 mph (80 kph). The crash occurred near Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain, and was the country’s worst rail accident in decades. Some 66 people are still hospitalized for injuries, 15 of whom are in critical condition. The driver, Francisco Jose Garzon Amo, was talking on the phone to an official of national rail company Renfe when the crash happened and apparently was consulting a paper document at the time, the statement said. Garzon was provisionally charged Sunday with multiple counts of negligent homicide. The driver received a call on his work phone in the cabin, not his personal cellphone, to tell him what approach to take toward his final destination. The Renfe employee on the telephone “appears to be a controller,” the statement said. “From the contents of the conversation and from the background noise it seems that the driver (was) consulting a plan or similar paper document,” the statement said. Nevermind a jail cell, they might fry this bastard! Image via YouTube Continue reading

Paris Jackson: Suicide Note Found, Meat Cleaver Used in Attempt

A couple grisly details have come out regarding Paris Jackson’s suicide attempt this morning. As previously reported, the 15-year old daughter of Michael was rushed to the hospital around 2 a.m. following a 911 call that TMZ confirms was made as a result of Paris dialing the suicide hotline. The operator was reportedly so shaken by the conversation that she called the authorities. When they arrived, EMTs found a suicide note at the scene and also saw that Paris used a meat cleaver on her arm. She had also taken a significant number of Motrin pills. Paris received “numerous stitches” for the wound and was then placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours. In a statement, Jackie, Marlon and Tito Jackson have said: “Thank you for the outpouring of concern and support for Paris. She is safe and doing fine. Busy Philipps: Why I Stopped Waxing My Public Hair

Becoming a mother can change a woman in many different ways. For Cougar Town star Busy Philipps, one of those ways had to do with her undercarriage and how her grooming preferences have evolved. On a new episode of The Conversation , Philipps was asked by host Amanda de Cadenet if she waxes or shaves and excitedly replied: “I love this question. I do get waxed, but after I had my daughter I had this real epiphany. I felt like it would be really fucking weird if I had no hair on my vagina, because I have a little girl and I want her to look at me and think that grown women have hair on their vaginas!” HA! We love it. Philipps, the mother of a four-year old girl, is expecting her second child with husband Marc Silverstein and also took issue in the Q&A with those who claim it’s a breeze to lose baby weight. “I love that the whole weird misconception, ‘I just lost it all breastfeeding.’ It’s like, ‘No, you didn’t!'” she said.

My name is Marsela, and I still can’t believe that I am…

My name is Marsela, and I still can’t believe that I am about to write my very FIRST Bieber Experience! I attended Justin’s concert in Moscow, Russia on April 30th, 2013. I live in Nizhny Novgorod but luckily, my dad drove 6 hours to get me to that concert. The news about Justin’s concerts in Russia spread around in the beginning of November 2012. I quickly bought the tickets as soon as they were available. Unfortunately, our country didn’t sell the M&G passes, so I was utterly frustrated. Time went by but I still didn’t give up on trying to find a way of meeting Justin. It was the end of March already when I found out about the BieberFever contest. Although I was sure I am a total loser, I decided to give it a try and kept my fingers crossed. Guess what…I WON! Oh my goodness! I can’t express how happy, cheerful and shocked I was. I was just on cloud nine, especially because I had received the message 15 hours before the actual meet and greet. When we arrived to the venue, the state of my mind and soul was insane. We waited for Justin for over an hour but trust me, every second was worth the meeting. When it was my turn, I felt as if my heart was going to jump out of my chest. I saw Justin and the time just stopped for me. I stood right in front of him saying “Hello” and I COULDN’T BELIEVE MY EYES. Justin was just too good to be true. Justin’s bodyguard (Dustin, I think) put me to the left as apparently I was paralyzed and mesmerized by Justin’s beauty. After that, I don’t know why I asked Justin, “Can I stand there?” Justin answered me with BY FAR THE KINDEST AND SWEETEST VOICE I had ever heard, “Stay wherever you want.” OMG! You probably can imagine how stressed I was. It came as a surprise to me that I look quite put-together in the photo although it was snapped a second after this conversation had happened. I don’t remember everything clearly but right after the “photo session,” I grabbed Justin’s hand and I believe, Justin grabbed my other hand. It may sound weird but we rubbed each other’s hands for like 10 seconds, it was 10 seconds of HEAVEN. My emotions took over me and I couldn’t let him go. During these seconds I managed to tell Justin that I love him. Finally, I went out of the room and literally burst into tears of happiness and I felt on top of the world. I couldn’t embrace the fact that I had met my inspiration and that we talked and held each others’ hands. By the way, at that time I was 17 years old. My birthday was on May 2nd, I couldn’t ask for any better present on my 18th birthday. Speaking of the show, it was PURE PERFECTION. I am speechless. Hands down! Every song Justin sang gave me so much energy and joy. After everything was over, I had a bittersweet feeling. I was a little bit sad because this fairytale ended. However, I can truly call it the highlight of my life! Something tells me that someday I will meet Justin again. Looking back, I am extremely grateful for this journey. From the bottom of my heart I’d like to say “THANK YOU, JUSTIN” for every single thing you do for us. I hope that maybe one day you’ll come across my story and even remember me. Every belieber deserves to meet Justin. That’s why I genuinely think that by reading my experience you’ll realize that, “ALL HUMAN WISDOM IS CONTAINED IN THESE TWO WORDS – WAIT AND HOPE.” Thanks to Justin now I know that ‘never say never’ does work and that everything is possible if you believe. -@Marselenia Go here to see the original: My name is Marsela, and I still can’t believe that I am…

TRIBECA: Clint Eastwood Tells Darren Aronofsky It Would Be ‘Great’ To Be A 100 Year-Old Filmmaker

“I met you once for a handshake and I was terrified,”  Darren Aronofsky  told Clint Eastwood during their Tribeca Talks Directors Series discussion on Saturday. “I’m still a little terrified.” The two men chatted (fittingly, in directors’ chairs) following the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Eastwood Directs: The Untold Story , a 60-minute documentary about the actor-turned-filmmaker’s career behind the camera. Although the 82-year-old Eastwood is almost double the age of Aronofsky, it was The Wrestler director who walked with a cane. He lowered himself into his seat while Eastwood gestured to the applauding crowd and, with a smile on his face, told them to “knock it off.” The man who once played Dirty Harry  kept up the charm offensive throughout the conversation and didn’t address any empty chairs. The Academy Award-winning director and Academy Award-nominated one discussed a number of topics, including directing children, working with actors, working with digital cameras and sustaining a passion for filmmaking. On that last subject, Eastwood said, “I don’t think you ever lose it.” He then referenced 104-year-old Portuguese director and screenwriter Manoel Cândido Pinto de Oliveira . ( The Strange Case of Angelica ). “That’s always everybody’s dream,” Eastwood said. “Wouldn’t it be great to be 105 and still be making films?” He dubbed this hope “the ultimate optimism.” More wisdom and anecdotes from Eastwood include: “You have to fight for what you want, for what you believe in.” “A director has to be the most malleable person on set.” “Directing is having your hands on everything. It’s the ultimate power trip.” “If [filmmaking] was that painful, I’d consider myself somewhat of a masochist.” When Aronofsky asked Eastwood the first thing he does upon arriving at a new set or location, the movie-making veteran replied, “I was thinking of throwing up . For some reason that came into my mind. We won’t print that.” Too late. The Real Housewives of Orange County: From Miss Piggy to Mickey Roarke

The Real Housewives of Orange County returned last week with a baby and a whimper . Tonight, Vicki’s “work” is a hot topic for discussion and there’s enough Jim and Alexis to make us all want to take a scalding hot shower to burn the ick off our skin. Plus, Heather will try to broker a peace agreement between Vicki and Tamra. You know, just another day in Orange County. At Casa Dubrow, the ladies have gathered for a clambake. Gretchen breaks the ice with Vicki first by asking about her new grandson Troy and Briana.  Plus 5 Gretchen! Atta girl. Tamra’s not really interested in having a conversation with Vicki, but is certainly interested in talking about Vicki’s recent plastic surgery. Not like she’s never had any work done. Pot and kettle and such.  Minus 7. Terry. Love the man. “Asking a woman if she’s had plastic surgery is like asking your wife if she’s gained weight. You just don’t do it.”  Plus 20 .  Vicki believes that Heather has brought she and Tamra together because she wants them to be friends again. Vicki apparently didn’t see the pool and landscaping Heather and Terry had done when they were summering in the Hamptons which is the real reason they’re having a clambake in Orange County.  Tamra and Eddie don’t have a date set for their wedding. They’ve been engaged eight months already. Tamra says they’re trying to get their business off the ground first, but the real reason they don’t have a date set is because Eddie won’t give her one.  Minus 12 . Best line of the night goes to Heather, when telling Tamra how to eat lobster: “Chew, chew, chew from the outside, and it’ll come in your mouth.” Hmmm, Heather. Something tells me if you’re using your teeth, you’re doing it wrong?  Plus 75  for hilarity. The look on her face when she realized what she’d said was priceless.     Vicki throws out an “I really love onion rings with this type of food” and Heather immediately accuses Terry of planting the comment.    Gretchen and Vicki have a moment where Gretchen asks Vicki about Brooks and Vicki launches into the story of how it was just so hard that no one liked him. Gretchen’s reply? “Now you know how I felt two years ago.” Well played, Gretchen.  Plus 8 . Tamra doesn’t like that Gretchen and Vicki seem chummy and Vicki mocks the friendship bracelet Tamra gave Gretchen last year. Vicki brings up the infamous “Evil Eye” and accuses Tamra of staring her down again. And so it begins, right? It seems that Vicki and Tamra are going to have an adult conversation about what was actually the cause of their falling out: Tamra’s friendship with Gretchen.  Tamra walks away from the table and Vicki vows not to follow. Heather, Hostess with the Mostest, goes after her. Vicki and Gretchen keep talking at the table and Vicki says Tamra’s “mean when she gets mad.” Heather, meanwhile, is counseling Tamra not to be a hothead. If Heather’s acting career doesn’t pan out….oh, wait.  Plus 10 for good advice. Terry keeps bringing up the onion rings. Heather keeps wanting to stab him with a fork. Minus 9. Jim and Alexis are on a date. They’re going to take ballroom dancing lessons. It would be sweet if he weren’t such a disgusting man.  Alexis says that last year they lost a lot of money on a home and no one knew about it. As a result, Jim felt like a failure and she was too busy with her dress lines and career as a “news anchor” to fix his emotional issues.  She says they’re closer now than they were last year and then tells him he’s getting lucky. The whole thing was kind of sweet but then it’s Jim. He’s so…Jim.    The party has moved to the rec room at Casa Dubrow. There’s coffee and dessert and, of course, more wine and “champs.”  Tamra gets notice that her permits for her fitness studio have been approved. She’s the owner of a gym and Eddie’s boss.  Plus 10 . Heather’s trying to push Tamra and Vicki to talk things out. Tamra says they never talk about things. They just put band-aids on their problems and leave them alone, but no more. If they’re going to be friends, they have to talk things out. Plus 5 . So they lock themselves into a wine cellar to chat. Which is exactly the place two semi-drunk women need to go to have an emotional conversation.  Gretchen thinks Vicki will try to make the conversation all about her, but Tamra doesn’t let her. Tamra points out that Vicki’s not good at reading people when they say what she wants to hear. Vicki admits that she remembers when they were both still married and how good things seemed then and says that she misses that. It’s apologies all around, with a healthy dose of “but I don’t think I can trust her.” So, sort of apologies?  Gretchen seems to be undoing the good that Tamra and Vicki have just done because she doesn’t like Vicki and is worried that if Vicki and Tamra become friends again, Gretchen will be left out in the cold.   Minus 15 , Gretch. Insecurity’s not becoming. Jim and Alexis have started a new business. An indoor trampoline park, Sky Zone. Of all the businesses they’ve been in, at least this one seems fun.  Plus 8 . Alexis is, like, the spokesperson for Sky Zone, which, I mean, she guesses, means she talks about, like, Sky Zone.   Minus 8 for the ditz. Alexis says that Jim has always been supportive of what she’s done, except I seem to recall him being incredibly UNsupportive last year.  Minus 4 for selective memory. Slade’s a radio host and Gretchen’s proud of her man for being gainfully employed.  Plus 5. He goes on the radio to bring up Miss Piggy-gate and compares Vicki to Mickey Roarke now that she’s had her surgery. He just cannot leave her alone.  Minus 12 .  Now that Slade is making the dolla dolla bills and paying off his debts, Gretchen’s hearing wedding bells. Or that’s her ovaries. Vicki’s in the middle of a full-home renovation now that Donn has moved out and Briana has moved in. Briana’s frustrated with the remodel not realizing that at least in part it’s because she and baby Troy and daddy have moved in.  Minus 10 Briana says she’s cutting her mom some slack, however, now that she knows how hard it is to be a mom.  Plus 8 . Weird Jim alert: He tries on Alexis’ flip flops. Just to test the cushiony factor.  Minus 8 . Eddie and Tamra are trying to decorate. She’s making canvases of all of her childrens’ handprints and Eddie suggests they also do the dog’s paw prints. It’s kind of sweet.  Plus 8 . And then it gets not so sweet. Eddie brings up the conversation with Vicki. Tamra says that in her heart she feels like Vicki is her family and Eddie gives her a serious side-eye. He doesn’t trust Vicki. He “highly recommends” that Tamra doesn’t let Vicki back in. Just like Gretchen told her. His final on-camera words to her about the whole situation are “be careful.” EPISODE TOTAL:  +77 SEASON TOTAL: +114

Train In Vain Spotting: Danny Boyle Picks His Favorite Clash Albums − And Disses Phish

Danny Boyle is a big Clash fan. The Slumdog Millionaire  director came to New York Tuesday night to talk about the way he uses music in his films — including his latest, Trance — and, in the process, revealed his love of the late, lamented British punk band.   During his conversation with Rolling Stone film writer Logan Hill at the 92Y’s Tribeca outpost, Boyle revealed that he has attempted to fit the Clash’s 1978 song”White Man in Hammersmith Palais,” which he called “the greatest song ever written,” in  “like 10 films”, but has yet to be able to find an appropriate place for the ska-inflected tune. If you’re not familiar with “White Man in Hammersmith Palais,”  you should be. Check it out here: Danny Boyle’s Favorite Clash Albums After the Q&A session, while Boyle signed autographs for fans, I asked him to name his favorite Clash album. Clearly, he loves the band because he couldn’t settle on a single work.  “The first one, probably,” Boyle said, referring to the rockers’ 1977 debut, The Clash .  But, he quickly added that he also loved the band’s experimental, politically controversial triple-album Sandinista! , in part because, he said, the massive 36-song collection, which was sold at a reasonable price, was designed “to fuck off the record company.” Finally, Boyle said, ” London Calling is a great album, too.” During his conversation with Hill, Boyle said he’s found that the best movie-music choices “drop into your lap.”  For example, he explained, the idea to set the closing scenes of Shallow Grave to Andy Williams’ “Happy Heart” came when, during filming in Scotland, Boyle heard the song during a black cab ride and remembered that the tune was a favorite of his father’s. And Boyle’s discovery of the Underworld B-side “Born Slippy” while browsing records at HMV in London led to the song being used during a key scene in Trainspotting  and a decades-long collaboration with the electronic group’s Rick Smith. Smith, who worked with Boyle on the opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics and composed original music for Trance , joined Boyle on stage for the conversation, and, near the end of the discussion, the audience got to see a tense clip from Trance that was an extended variation of this video: What the 92Y audience got to see is James McAvoy attempting to taser Vincent Cassel . It ends badly. Not A Phish Fan Hill also got Boyle to talk about his dislike of Phish. Despite being the favorite band of Aron Ralston, who James Franco played in 127 Hours , the filmmaker said the jammers left him cold and aren’t on the soundtrack. “I tried with Phish,” Boyle said.  “I bought everything and listened to it multiple times…but I found it very, very difficult.” Indeed, Boyle went so far as to say that nobody does music better than his fellow countrymen and women. “I think we are really brilliant at music,” he said. “We’re rubbish at films, actually. It’s not really in our DNA. But music is.” Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter . Follow Movieline on  Twitter .
