By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ricky Louis Tyga Photo: MTV News Rap veterans Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem have all continued to exercise their hip-hop dominance, but over the past year, a new generation of MCs has made significant impact in the game over the past year. So when Young Money’s Tyga was asked to make a pick for the “Hottest MC in the Game,” he gave a nod to the new class. Of course, the “Rack City” rapper nominated himself for the top spot in MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” debate, but he also opened the conversation up and included some other talented newcomers. “It’s a lot of artists that I like now that are around my age and that are new, from Wale to J. Cole to Big Sean, Meek Mill,” Tyga rattled off when MTV News caught up with him at a shoot for his “Rack City” remix video. Tyga finds that he has more in common with this new crop of artist, as they share a generational bond. “A lot of those artists I can really relate to because we’re close in age and a lot of the stuff they’re talking about is modern day and going on right now,” he said. “I salute all those dudes.” Well, Tyga will have to wait until Monday, when the top 10 “Hottest” countdown begins on MTV News and then tune in to “Hottest MCs in the Game VII” half-hour television special on MTV2 on February 19 when the top five “Hottest MCs in the Game” are revealed. This divorce saga is WAY more entertaining than Kimmy Cakes! According to TMZ reports : Pilar Sanders called cops to Deion’s gargantuan Texas mansion yesterday … claiming she was ATTACKED by one of Deion’s female friends … while the NFL legend stood by and watched. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Pilar told officers a woman named Laura arrived to the mansion to see Deion … but Pilar told Laura she was not welcome in the home and asked her to leave. We’re told Laura refused … and after some words were exchanged, Laura threw an object at Pilar … striking her in the eye. Pilar grabbed her phone and called 911 … and told police Deion was present during the altercation, but didn’t do ANYTHING to diffuse the situation. Cops tell TMZ … no arrests were made and the situation is under investigation. We called Pilar’s people and Deion’s people for comment — so far no response from either camp. Dang she’s 13 already? Little Malia Obama is growing up and while her mom Michelle seems to accept it and respect her privacy, the FLOTUS says the Prez isn’t taking it so well. The morning after First Lady Michelle Obama appeared on “The Tonight Show,” she headed to the daytime TV circuit for a sit-down interview with “Rachael Ray” (weekdays on ABC). After the ladies discussed healthy cooking, the conversation turned to parenting, and Ray asked if 13-year-old Malia is currently allowed to date. Obama declined to give Ray an answer, citing her daughter’s privacy. “You know Rachael, one thing I’ve learned is that a 13-year-old wants nothing more than to not have her mother talk about her personal life on national TV. It’s like, ‘You said what?’” Unfazed, Ray plowed ahead, asking who would be the tougher parent for a potential suitor to please, when that time comes. “Barack pretends like he’s going to handle this so well when it happens … but it’s going to be fun to watch. It’s already fun to see him squirming when she puts on a dress and she’s got her hair down, and he’s trying to pretend like it’s cool, but he’s freaking out a little bit,” she answered, chuckling. Obama may have been referencing President Obama’s August interview with “Good Morning America,” when he told Robin Roberts that when his daughters got old enough to date, “I might invite [her date] over to the Oval Office, ask him for his GPA, find out what his intentions are in terms of career. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer received an earful from President Obama when she met him on an airport tarmac outside Phoenix yesterday – and responded in kind. The Democratic chief executive and Republican governor could be seen engaged in an intense conversation right at the base of Air Force One’s steps. Both could be seen smiling, but speaking forecefully at the same time. At one point, Jan Brewer pointed a finger directly in Barack Obama’s face. Why? Asked later what the conversation was about, Brewer, who recently published Scorpions for Breakfast , said, “He was a little disturbed about my book.” Jan Brewer Points Finger at Obama Something of a memoir of her years growing up, Scorpions defends her signing of Arizona’s controversial law cracking down on undocumented immigrants. Obama, who opposes that law, was objecting to Brewer’s description of a meeting they had at the White House in June 2010. Bad blood has boiled since. Brewer described Obama as lecturing her like “a little kid in a classroom, if you will, and he was this wise professor … I felt minimized to say the least.” The Governor also said that later that year, Obama blew her off when he was in town to deliver the commencement address at Arizona State University. On the tarmac Wednesday, Brewer handed Obama an envelope with a handwritten invitation to meet her for lunch and to join her for a visit to the border. “I said to him, you know, I have always respected the office of the president and that the book is what the book is,” she told reporters Wednesday. She said Obama was upset that she wrote he was not cordial: “I said that I was sorry he felt that way. Anyway, we’re glad he’s here, and we’ll regroup.” The President is visiting the Grand Canyon State to push for initiatives laid out in his State of the Union address , which began his reelection bid in earnest. ‘I got to bring together every pop star and fold it into one person,’ actress tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Elijah Wood and Emma Roberts Photo: MTV News PARK CITY, Utah — Emma Roberts has always been a friend to MTV News, particularly at the Sundance Film Festival . Last year in Park City, we were fairly sure that we got Emma to drop a massive “Scream 4” spoiler — namely that she wasn’t going to survive her encounter with Ghost Face — and we were right … partially. At this year’s Sundance, our conversation with Emma was not so grim. The up-and-coming actress has a starring role in “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” a comedy about a divorcing couple struggling to maintain their friendship during an intense period of transition. In the film, which also stars co-writer Rashida Jones , Roberts goes against type as a pop star named Riley, who is an amalgamation of various musical icons. But according to the actress, there’s one particular singer she took her cues from. “I got to bring together every pop star and fold it into one person,” she told MTV News about her role in the film. “[But] my hair is definitely Ke$ha . I have these fabulous long, blond, slightly ratty extensions. I miss those dearly.” Of course, hair alone does not make a pop star. Roberts had to sing and dance to get into the role, rocking out with a dance anthem that was co-written by Jones herself. “We recorded a song that Rashida co-wrote with a bunch of people, and it’s just wildly entertaining and inappropriate and it’s kind of a dance anthem. It was fun,” she said. “You know when you listen to songs and they yell at you to have fun? That’s kind of what we decided to do, because I love being yelled at to have fun and dance!” Who doesn’t?
