One of the most anticipated titles among circles who enjoy male strippers and movies is the upcoming Steven Soderbergh drama Magic Mike — a movie about male strippers that allegedly lured the filmmaker away from early retirement . At long last, a first image from the project has surfaced featuring Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum striking a pose onstage for what promises to be a very patriotic (and erotic) dance number. You know what this means, fellow Movieliners — grab the nearest captioning pen and stack of singles. Where to even begin? McConaughey appears in classic McConaughey fashion ( shirtless ). Tatum appears in classic G.I. Joe franchise-star fashion (in camouflage). For further captioning reference, the official premise of Magic Mike is as follows: “Veteran male stripper Magic Mike (Tatum) teaches a new male stripper (Pettyfer) about the occupation. They work at the club Xquisite, which is owned by the former male stripper Dallas (McConaughey).” The project is inspired by Tatum’s experiences as a teenage stripper in Florida. Proving that NBC personnel suck at holding their liquor as well as producing TV shows and updating their website, correspondent Jay Gray was arrested last Monday after allegedly getting wasted at a party thrown by Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer. Gray was invited by attorney Joe Amendola to watch the New York Giants game the night of December 11, along with reporters from other media outlets, all of whom were vying for an exclusive interview with disgraced former PSU coach Sandusky. Jerry Sandusky Interview Gray got “really drunk” during the game – won by the Giants over Dallas, 37-34, after an INSANE finish! – and sometimes after midnight, Gray left the party and began driving. Intoxicated. The Pennsylvania State Police stopped and popped him for DUI. According to police records released after the fact, “He [Gray] had been drinking and was arrested for DUI.” The time of arrest was 1:45 a.m. on December 12. Somehow we’re guessing Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator and accused child molester, will be taking his big-ticket tell-all interview elsewhere.
American Idol alumnus Fantasia Barrino has given birth to her baby. The boy, named Dallas Zavier Barrino, was born at 4:14 p.m. at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. He weighed in at 7lbs, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long. This is Barrino’s second child. She has a 10-year-old daughter named Zion. Fantasia has yet to confirm or deny if her newborn was fathered by Antwuan Cook. While Kobe Bryant laments the loss of a key Lakers teammate, both Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are being welcomed enthusiastically by members of the Dallas Mavericks organization. First, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle told the press that Khloe was his favorite Kardashian . Now, former Dancing with the Stars contestant/team owner Mark Cuban has come out and told Extra : “She’s welcome with open arms. We can’t wait to have the whole family, can’t wait to have Khloe and Lamar, we’ll go from there.” And it sounds like the team will have more family members to welcome soon. Odom told Us Weekly that Rob Kardashian will soon join him and Khloe in Dallas, while various sources report the Kardashians are psyched about the trade because it allows them to expand their DASH franchise to a new city. We’ll give NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki the final word on the trade for now: “[Odom] can bring the ball up, he can shoot, he can post. He’s a great decision-maker with the ball and one of the best passing big men in the league today. So, we should be able to have fun with each other.”
Fantasia Barrino has been through quite the ordeal over the past year or so, but the former American Idol champion now has a reason to smile: she’s a new mother! The singer gave birth to a son named Dallas Xavier Barrino today. He was born in North Carolina and checked in at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches long. Fantasia also has a 10-year old daughter from a previous relationship. “I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” the 27-year old tells People . “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.” Fantasia has not gone public with the identity of the new child’s father, but it’s been strongly reported that he’s Barrino’s long-time boyfriend, Antwaun Cook .
Fantasia Barrino and the unavailable significant other she still shares with the woman who sued her are now the parents of a bouncing baby boy. Fantasia’s reps have now confirmed that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Dallas Zavier Barrino. Yes. Barrino. Not Cook like his dirty dog of a daddy. Little Baby Dallas was born at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina more than twelve hours after Fantasia checked in to the Hospital around 4:30pm local time on Monday in active labor. Despite being born a little over two weeks earlier than Fantasia’s December 29 due date, Dallas weighed in at 7lbs 9oz, was 21 inches long and is reportedly perfectly healthy. Antwaun was reportedly at the hospital with Fantasia the whole time. Ain’t that precious??
Khloe & Lamar Take Dallas? While it has not yet been finalized, multiple sources are reporting that Khloe Kardashian’s husband, Lamar Odom, has been traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks. How is Khloe taking the news that she and her man will soon be moving out of the L.A. spotlight? “‘For I know the plans I have for u,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper u and not to harm u, plans to give u hope and a future.’ Jeremiah,” she Tweeted yesterday, not remotely overreacting to the news and adding: “I am sure I will love it but I am a tad thrown off. I know for a fact blessings are everywhere!!! Everything happens for a reason. God is great.” It’s true. And that reason is for the Lakers to create salary cap room in order to make a run at the Magic’s Dwight Howard.
Band will kick off Mylo Xyloto tour on April 17. With three Grammy nominations under their belt — two for “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” and one for “Paradise” — the band will be on the road from April through August in the U.S. and Canada, currently slated to wrap things up at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 11. Before they pack up their road cases, they will drop the third single from the album, “Charlie Brown,” which goes to radio later this month. They will also appear on the first-ever 90-minute episode of the world’s longest-running live music TV series, “Austin City Limits” . They’ll ring in the new year on the program, which will air on PBS station nationwide on December 31 beginning at 11 p.m. “Coldplay New Year’s Eve: An Austin City Limits Special” can also be viewed on demand on www.pbs.org starting at 11 p.m. ET that evening. If you didn’t get a chance to catch any of Coldplay’s festival appearances earlier this year, singer Chris Martin promises that the new Xyloto songs will fit in with their soaring catalog, but might also feel a bit … different. “It’s definitely a schizophrenic album … it keeps changing sounds,” he told MTV News. “That’s why we called it such a strange thing, Mylo Xyloto . Because we felt like so many people have already made up their minds about us, both good and bad, that we can sort of start again from scratch and try and reflect all the music we listen to and we love.” And while you may not see album guest Rihanna hop up on stage with the band during the outing to sing “Princess of China” , there’s a shot you might see them do their take on her current hit, “We Found Love,” which they covered on BBC Radio 1 recently.
