Casey Anthony to Be Sued By "Zanny the Nanny"

Casey Anthony’s release from jail July 13 won’t necessarily mean the end of her legal problems. The accused murderer may be sued in a civil case. Attorney John Morgan, who represents Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, has filed a subpoena to question Casey and served her at Orange County Jail. Gonzalez claims she can’t find work and was ostracized after Anthony told police officials that a woman with the same name kidnapped her daughter. Investigators quickly established that Gonzalez had nothing to do with the case and Casey’s babysitter “Zanny the Nanny” was a total fabrication. Anthony was sentenced to four years in prison for lies to police like that one, but having served almost all of that already, will go free next week. In any case, Gonzalez is seeking $15,000 in damages for damages to her reputation, loss of job, humiliation and distress brought by Anthony. The worst part for Anthony is the possibility of being forced to testify at trial and questioned under oath, which she did not at her murder trial. While Anthony was acquitted of murder, questions potentially asked during a defamation suit against her could prove very difficult to answer. The subpoena demands Anthony appear at Morgan’s Florida office July 19 at 10 a.m. for a deposition, where she will be questioned under oath. Casey is officially broke, but stands to make a fortune from interviews, photographs plus film and book rights , after her sensational acquittal. On the flip side, she owes investigative and court costs associated with earlier check-fraud convictions – and likely a fortune for her murder defense. In short, you haven’t heard the last of her by a longs hot.

Eff You, Pay Me! French Production Company Fined $46 Milli For Shafting Spike Lee

The French production company that failed to distribute Spike Lee’s film “Miracle at St. Anna” has been hit with a big money fine by a Paris court. Now that’s one helluva ho sit down, wouldn’t you say? TF1 Droits Audiovisuels has been ordered to pay $46 million to producers of Miracle at St. Anna for failing to honor a contract to distribute the World War II picture internationally. The dispute centered on a 2007 agreement between TF1 and the On My Own production company. According to the terms of the contract, TF1 was scheduled to release the film in markets across the world with the exception of the United States, Canada and Italy. TF1 argued that Lee had delivered a different kind of film than the one it was promised and refused to hand over a nearly $16 million advance. Now, according to the AFP, a Paris court has found that TF1 is at fault for breaching the contract, ordering the company to pay nearly $29 million in damages, and more for moral prejudice. Spike Lee gets one million euros and James McBride, the author of the novel the film was based on, gets 200,000 euros. TFP also was ordered to pay to $18 million to BNP Paribas bank. Spike Lee don’t play that isht… Now they gotta pay EVEN MORE than they would have if they would have just returned the stinkin’ advance money. SMH. Source

Lawsuits: Danroy Henry Parents Sue The Pace-Football-Player-Killing Pigs

It’s time to for killer cop Aaron Hess to pay up. We will never forget the murder of DJ Henry by the crooked New York police. The parents of a college football player from Massachusetts have filed a federal lawsuit against the New York police officer who shot and killed him. Pleasantville Officer Aaron Hess, who was cleared by a grand jury in February, was sued Wednesday. His lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Hess shot Danroy Henry Jr., of Easton, Mass., through the windshield of his car on Oct. 17 as Henry drove away from a disturbance outside a bar. Hess has said he was hit by the car and had no choice but to fire. In the lawsuit, filed in White Plains, N.Y., the parents say Hess jumped in front of the car and had no good reason to shoot. They ask for damages for their son’s death and their suffering. This was no accidental shooting — an innocent young man with a promising future has been robbed of a promising future. Justice must be served. R.I.P. DJ! Source
