Last Night on Community: Team Annie

There was something oddly sincere about the cliche-packed season finale of Community , and maybe that was the ultimate joke. Whereas the recent spoof episodes were overflowing with meta references and acknowledgments to what was happening , “Pascal’s Triangle Revisited” played things mostly straight. Or as straight as a show can be while literally explaining the origins of “jump the shark.” The end of the year Transfer Dance — rechristened “Tranny Dance” by the furry-loving dean — wound up being the Waterloo for Jeff, Brita and Jeff’s “Hey, remember me” ex-girlfriend, Slater, because that’s what end of the year dances are there for: Big emotional speeches where true feelings are revealed. And, oh yeah, surprise endings.

Tyga Explains Origin Of Fan Of A Fan Mixtape With Chris Brown

‘We knocked out, like, three songs a day,’ Tyga tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Matt Elias Chris Brown and Tyga Photo: MTV News Don’t Sleep: Necessary Notables Feature Presentation : Fan of a Fan Headliners : Tyga and Chris Brown Key Records : “Like a Virgin Again,” “What They Want” and “Drop Top Girl” Essential Info : Young Money member Tyga said he was surprised when Chris Brown approached him about making an entire mixtape together. “Me and Chris, basically, we met a couple of years ago,” Tyga explained in L.A. on Tuesday about the tape. “We had mutual friends. I always seen him come in the studio when he was with Wayne. It’s crazy, because I never asked him for a track. I never wanted to press up on him like that. One day, he hit me up. He was like, ‘Yo, man, let’s do some songs.’ So I came to the studio. The first two songs [you saw videos for], ‘Holla at Me’ and ‘All the Girls Love,’ them two songs was like the first time we ever recorded. When we recorded them songs, he was like, ‘Let’s do a mixtape.’ It’s crazy, ’cause the mixtape, we did in a whole week. I flew out to VA, and we knocked out the whole mixtape. “Chris works fast,” he continued. “Me — I ain’t gonna lie — I write slow. I’m real picky. He was knocking the hooks out real quick, I was knocking out the verses. We knocked out, like, three songs a day.” Fan of a Fan has a dual meaning. Obviously, the tape’s two stars have a mutual admiration for each other, but they also wanted to acknowledge their followings. ” Fan of a Fan is basically our dedication back to the fans,” Tyga explained. “I feel like a lot of people is not doing it for their core audience. These are the people that come to our shows, these are the people that call these radio stations and fight for us all day. So why not give them something for free?” The tape touches on relationships with the ladies and spending money, and it also pushes C. Breezy as a rapper. ” ‘Deuces,’ it’s about you getting rid of this girl. You try to make it work, but you gotta move on,” Tyga explained. “So you basically put up one finger, then another and say, ‘Deuces.’ ‘Like a Virgin Again,’ that’s one of them old classic 2002 R&B songs. Like holding hands at the dance. That song’s about making a girl feel special, ’cause that’s what all girls want, of course. Telling her like, ‘If you are a virgin or you’re not a virgin, I’mma make you feel like one again.’ ‘What They Want’ is the first song on the mixtape. It’s introducing us together as a duo. It’s what the fans want. ’48 Bar Rap,’ that’s Chris rappin’. Showing his rap skills. “Chris is a certified rapper,” Tyga added. “That’s straight from Tyga at Young Money. Of course he’s a great singer, but he does his little rap thing too.” Tyga is working on his next album, Careless World, and said to look out for Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV “soon.” Other Heat This Week

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Results: Chad Ochocinco Gets Sacked

Evan Lysacek, Nicole Scherzinger and Erin Andrews continue to next week’s finals. By Kelley L. Carter Cheryl Burke and Chad Ochocinco on “Dancing with the Stars” Photo: ABC Say goodbye to the bling. Chad Ochocinco, the celebrity contestant who showered his dance partner, Cheryl Burke, with a ridiculously expensive-looking pieces of jewelry throughout this season on “Dancing With the Stars,” was sent home on Tuesday night. Not that his ouster was too much of a shock for the football star — the Cincinnati Bengals player was the only one of the final four celebrity dancers who had zero previous dance training, even though his improvements continued to impress the judges week after week. Ochocinco joked that he’d be back next year “as a professional.” “This was awesome,” Ochocinco said after being eliminated. “I enjoyed the journey. I met some wonderful people. I got some great criticism that’s only made me stronger … and I’ll miss ’em all, especially the beautiful Cheryl Burke. And in my eyes really, I’ve already won.” Burke said that Ochocinco was the most humble guy you’ll ever meet. “The most amazing, soft, gentle man in the world, and I’ve had such an amazing experience with you, thank you.” At the beginning of the results show, Olympic skater Evan Lysacek and partner Anna Trebunskaya were the first to learn that they were safe and had landed a spot in the finals. It was their paso doble from the night before that was picked for the reprisal dance; judges considered it his strongest performance of the season. Musical guests Sarah McLachlan — who did her old hit “Angel” — and Miley Cyrus — who sang her new tune “Can’t Be Tamed” — played while dancers performed in front of them. Nicole Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough, and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy also are in the finals. David Guetta, Fergie, LMFAO Party In ‘Gettin’ Over You’ Video

A tweet from the French superstar DJ/producer brings Jabbawockeez and other revelers to studio, in new clip. By Akshay Bhansali Photo: MTV News Dance music superstar David Guetta was beaming when we caught up with him this weekend at KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango festival in Los Angeles. The concert event marked the French DJ/producer’s inclusion in what has now become an annual West Coast tradition showcasing the best of the best in popular music. This year’s roster boasted the likes of Adam Lambert, Ke$ha, Ludacris, Akon, Usher and Justin Bieber. “I live in Paris, so I have no idea. I arrived and didn’t even know what the Staple[s] Center was,” Guetta said. “Then I arrived to the rehearsal and I was like, ‘Wow! This is big!’ I saw all the artists that were performing and it’s amazing. I’m really happy and honored to be part of that.” Guetta has collaborated with Akon and Kelly Rowland, on “Sexy Chick” and, “When Love Takes Over,” respectively, and they, along with singer Chris Willis, joined Guetta onstage for a rocking show on Saturday. Now, he’s followed that with the premiere of his latest video on Tuesday (May 18) morning. The clip for “Gettin’ Over You,” features Fergie , party-rockers LMFAO and Chris Willis, who all guest on the track. In an interview with MTV News last month, Guetta set up the concept for the visual. “The video is the story of what happened to me when I came to produce ‘I Gotta Feeling’ for the Black Eyed Peas,” Guetta explained. “So, the inspiration for my video is we’re in recording sessions — me, Fergie, LMFAO, Chris Willis — and then more and more people are partying in the studio. We party in the streets. Partying in the area … partying in the city.” Indeed, “Getting’ Over You” is just as he described. The clip opens in a recording studio with Guetta behind the boards as he declares, “So guys, if you’re ready, we’re gonna do it one in one take. Let’s go.” Fergie (sporting a pouf and dramatically lined eyes) and Willis launch into the verses, as Guetta is seen tweeting that he’s in the studio. Just after LMFAO’s Sky Blu and Redfoo step up to their mics, a passerby hears the music from outside and sneaks into the session. The newcomer rounds up some friends, who carry speakers into the streets and patch into the soundboard, and lo and behold, the neighbors hear the music and flock to the studio. Soon a large crowd makes its way to Guetta’s recording session-turned-party, which spills into a nearby alley way, where everyone dances it out to the rest of the song. Somehow, America’s Best Dance Crew alums the Jabbawockeez find their way to the bash — and take things to the next level. Guetta may well have delivered another summer pop-dance music hit, in the vein of “I Gotta Feeling,” a song he co-produced for the Peas and that went on to top the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks last year. “I think ‘Getting’ Over You’ has that power of ‘I Gotta Feeling,’ Guetta said. “It’s actually kind of the same vibe. I’m really confident in this record. What did you think of Fergie’s look in the “Gettin’ Over You” video? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Fergie Lmfao

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Nicole Scherzinger, Evan Lysacek Keep Shining

Pussycat Doll and the Olympian are still miles ahead of other two stars in the semifinal round. By Kelley L. Carter Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger on “Dancing with the Stars” Photo: ABC For Monday night’s semifinals of “Dancing With the Stars,” the remaining couples had to compete in two rounds — ballroom and Latin — to impress judges. The performances resulted in a dead heat for first place between Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Olympian Evan Lysacek, who were both just one point shy of a total perfect score. The first couple to hit the floors was ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Judge Len Goodman was impressed with their Viennese waltz. He told the duo that the fight for the finals is in effect. Bruno Tonioli commented on Andrews’ improvement. Tonioli caused a bit of confusion when he accidentally held up a 10 paddle — he meant to give them a 9 — and Chmerkovskiy mock fainted. For their second round, they danced the paso doble, and the judges weren’t too keen on Andrews’ solo at the beginning. Score: 56/60 Favorite Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough took the stage next, performing a rather flawless Argentine tango. Tonioli said the Pussycat Doll was like “a divine enchantress,” and Carrie Ann Inaba told the pop singer “what you are doing is incredible.” The duo scored a perfect 30/30 for their tango, and when they came back for their cha cha to Prince’s hit “Kiss,” they barely missed a beat. Goodman said without question, Scherzinger deserved to be in the finals. Score: 59/60 Cincinnati Bengals player Chad Ochocinco and partner Cheryl Burke chose the waltz for the ballroom round. Inaba told Ochocinco that he nailed the dance. Goodman seemed equally impressed, noting that the football star is the only celeb in the semifinals without any dance experience. They took on the samba for dance number two, a dance that judges said was the toughest of the night. Tonioli joked that after seeing Ochocinco dance with his shirt open, he “will never take my clothes off again!” Score: 52/60 Lysacek and his partner Anna Trebunskaya picked the foxtrot, trying to add the emotion the skater hadn’t yet expressed in dance. Tonioli was impressed, saying that he wasn’t aware that Lysacek had that kind of vitality in him. Inaba said that he was engaged the entire time, something that had been missing from his pristine dance moves. For their second time out, the couple did a paso doble that Tonioli called strong, yet artistic. Dance number two earned a perfect score, for a 59/60 total.
