You might not know this, but every night at 11:35 P.M., dog pounds around the nation adjust the rabbit ears on their archaic black-and-white television sets and tune in for the Tonight Show monologue. They howl at what they think are the good jokes (“Happy Earth Day Kev!”), whimper at the bad (“In Beverly Hills, recycling plastic means remarrying your ex-wife”) and then dream about Jay Leno adopting them and letting them live inside his thousand-car garage. Well, that all changed during last night’s show, when dog orphans around the country watched in horror as Leno awkwardly shushed and coldly patted their distant relative, the American Gray Wolf, during his Earth Day segment. “Aw, hell no,” they thought, before switching the channel to Lopez Tonight . Last night, Jay Leno decided to get to the bottom of those nasty diva rumors swirling around Jennifer Lopez when the actress stopped by to promote her movie The Back-up Plan . The Jennifer Lopez Comeback Tour Continues
David Letterman tells jokes at others’ expense for a living. This week, he got a taste of his own medicine from a worthy comedic adversary, Chris Rock. Suffering from both a hoarse voice and a cold, Letterman gave Rock ample opportunities to mercilessly mock the talk show host’s messy personal life. “Dave, what the hell happened to your voice?” he asked. “You sound like an old ass man. You’re still doing the show? You’re rich, you could go home!” Then Rock joked in reference to Regina Lasko : “Wife still mad at you, ain’t she? I get it. Why drive back to Connecticut? Just do the show with no voice!” Chris Rock turns the tables on Letterman . Letterman took it in stride, and Rock later noted: “I’ve been there, man … When I’m on the road, I just add on shows! We’re doin’ Roanoke tonight!” Rock then continued his barrage, saying Dave “fired all the cute girls” that used to be backstage. Now it’s just “a bunch of fat old guys,” he lamented. The wreckage that is Tiki Barber’s divorce from pregnant wife Ginny Barber amid his affair with Traci Lynn Johnson continues to unravel and entertain. According to reports, the mistress was lying to her parents telling them that she was Tiki’s “babysitter” while he spent the night … at her dorm room. We know this, naturally, because the father of Traci Lynn Johnson unwittingly bragged to friends that she was a babysitter for the NFL star’s two kids.
