‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Tron,’ ‘True Grit’ Top Celebs’ Fall Movie Wish List

‘Look, I’m a ‘Tron’ guy,’ Jack Black confesses of the flick he’s most looking forward to. By Kara Warner Daniel Radcliffe in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” Photo: Warner Bros. MTV News’ Fall Movie Preview Week has been chock-full of the juiciest exclusive goods any eager moviegoer could hope for. Chills (courtesy of Wes Craven’s “My Soul to Take” ), thrills (thanks to Chris Pine talking about Tony Scott’s “Unstoppable” ) and exclusive stills . There was also some interesting talk about the secrets of onscreen nudity and post-production nipple addition (thanks, “Machete” cast !). In celebration of the upcoming season of highly anticipated films, we’ve compiled a little list of the films the Hollywood set is most anxious to see. “I am a huge Harry Potter nerd,” Chloe Bridges (“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”) told us at the premiere of the Disney sequel. “To obnoxious levels, it’s kind of sad, you have no idea, but yeah, I’m very excited for it. Part 1 of ‘The Deathly Hallows’!” ” ‘Tron’ for sure,” director M. Night Shyamalan said of the film he’s most looking forward to. “Because I don’t know what it’s going to be, and that’s so exciting. I know it’s based on the original movie, but I’m starving for original stuff as an audience member,” he said. “Gulliver’s Travels” star Jack Black begged to differ on the “Tron” excitement, however. “Yeah, that one’s not gonna be any good,” he said. “I don’t wanna see that.” And moments later Black changed his tune. Literally. He busted out a few bars of the original “Tron” theme for us. “Look, I’m a ‘Tron’ guy,” Black confessed. “Yeah, I like ‘Tron.’ I played the ‘Tron’ video game when I was a kid. Yeah! I’m in, I’m a nerd.” Black went on to say that he is equally excited for Jeff Bridges’ other fall film, “True Grit.” “Jeff Bridges plus the Coen brothers equals genius,” he said. “If you saw ‘The Big Lebowski,’ you know what I’m sayin.” “Somewhere” director Sophia Coppola also expressed enthusiasm for “True Grit,” as well as Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.” “I’m excited to see ‘Black Swan,’ and I know the Coen brothers have a movie coming out,” she said. “It’s always fun this time of year to go to the movies because there’s so much to see.” We couldn’t agree more! ‘Harry Potter’ Star Warwick Davis Shares Most Memorable Moments

‘I got to do some really interesting and important things,’ Davis says of two-part ‘Deathly Hallows.’ By Kara Warner Warwick Davis Photo: MTV News Ask any of the “Harry Potter” castmembers to name their favorite moment over the course of filming eight movies, and they’ll be hard-pressed to select just one. No matter what level of involvement, from stars to extras, production designers to makeup artists, those close to the wizard franchise feel lucky just to have been a part of the “Potter” magic. And perhaps no one more than actor Warwick Davis , who has not only appeared in all eight of the films, but played two memorable characters: Professor Filius Flitwick and Gringotts’ formidable goblin, Griphook. When MTV News caught up with the actor at the opening of Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park last month, we asked him to narrow down his character’s most memorable moments. “I think all of my favorite moments are in the last two films,” Davis said. “I got to do some really interesting and important things, which is nice. Previously in the films, it’s always been great to be there, but normally I’ve been the kind of comic relief. I’ve had silly, fun things to do, which have been very memorable,” he explained. “It’s wonderful. People always remember those moments, but I felt having Griphook and Flitwick [in the final two films] — I have much more bearing and importance on the plot as well.” Davis added that the absolute best moment for him was both surreal and emotional. “People who’ve read the books will know this ( spoiler alert ), but the moment where Voldemort exclaims that Harry Potter is dead … to have read that and to actually be there as it’s happening, that was quite emotional and quite surreal. It sends a shiver down your spine because you’re standing there and witnessing this event. It’s almost like reading the newspaper going back in time, witnessing a world-changing event.” What’s your favorite Flitwick or Griphook moment? And what scene are you most eager to see played out in the final “Harry Potter” films? Tell us in the comments! ‘Harry Potter’ Actress’ Father And Brother Threaten To Kill Her

The father and brother of Afshan Azad are accused of threatening to kill the star because of her relationship with a Hindu man. By Mawuse Ziegbe Afshan Azad Photo: Getty Images The father and brother of actress Afshan Azad, who plays Padma Patil in the “Harry Potter” franchise, have been accused of threatening to kill the star. Her brother has also been accused of assaulting her at her home in Manchester, England. According to CNN , a spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said the actress was allegedly attacked on May 21 because her family disapproved of her relationship with a Hindu man. Azad’s family is Muslim. Azad’s father, Abdul Azad, and brother, Ashraf Azad, recently appeared in Manchester Magistrate’s Court via video link, according to the Manchester Evening News . The actress was also present at the hearing and the two men have been released on bail. Bail conditions stipulate that neither father nor brother can travel to London and must adhere to a curfew. The paper also reports that the pair will appear again in court later this month and that “it is understood” that Azad’s father and brother plan to plead not guilty. Azad was a student with no acting experience when she was cast as Padma Patil, a classmate of Harry’s. Azad reportedly tagged along to an audition with some friends “for a bit fun.” She has since appeared in four movies, and the Manchester Evening News reports that she is expected to appear in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which is set to hit theaters next year. John Wolfson, a lawyer for Azad’s brother Ashraf, said, “I hope for the whole family’s sake this matter can be resolved quickly and happily.”

‘Harry Potter’ Actor Tom Felton Sees Draco Malfoy As ‘Vulnerable’

‘Draco, he’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t,’ he tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Tom Felton Photo: MTV News “Harry Potter” star (and recent MTV Movie Awards winner ) Tom Felton has seen his star rise steadily since first gracing the big screen as Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Fans have watched the young actor evolve from a one-note bully to a complicated and sometimes vulnerable villain. When MTV News caught up with Felton at the opening of Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park , we asked him about Draco’s growth over the course of the eight films, as well as whether he thinks his character is really all evil. “From my character’s point of view, a lot has been left to interpretation,” Felton said, pinpointing an important-yet-subtle moment from the final film, in which Draco is tasked with the painful decision whether to help or hinder his nemesis’ progress. “[There is] one take where you want to help Harry. The books, I think, kind of left it up to the interpretation of the reader, really, so one way you internally want to help him, the other side where you’re just confused, so I’m intrigued to see which bits David [Yates] cuts out of it.” Regarding Malfoy’s not-so-bad, tortured side, Felton said “Potter” creator J.K. Rowling helped him understand a softer side. “Jo always talked about him as being vulnerable,” Felton said. “Most bullies are. They’re actually hugely insecure and have their own problems, and he has the worst parental guidance of any child I’ve ever seen in my life.” Felton added that when he and Daniel Radcliffe have discussed their characters’ dynamics, they see them as two sides of the same coin. “Harry has these great influences, even though his parents have passed,” Felton said. “Draco, he’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t, really. He’s kind of stuck.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’ Trailer Reveals Daniel Radcliffe’s ‘Dreaded’ Climactic Scene

‘I’m kind of dreading [it], because I don’t know still how I’m going to do that,’ Radcliffe told us last year. By Eric Ditzian Daniel Radcliffe in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” Photo: Warner Bros. Daniel Radcliffe had been afraid of this. Probably for years. That final walk into a sinister forest as Harry Potter faces off against Lord Voldemort at the end of “Deathly Hallows.” It’s the scene Harry has been building to since He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named killed his parents and the boy wizard landed at Hogwarts. “I’m kind of dreading [it], because I don’t know still how I’m going to do that,” Radcliffe told MTV News about shooting the scene. That was back in July of 2009. By early the following year, Radcliffe had completed the anxiety-inducing scene. But it was no easy task, taking six full days of shooting to get the epic Harry vs. Voldemort battle right. “It was just one of those scenes where I think because I put a lot of pressure on myself to get it right beforehand, I wasn’t able to relax and enjoy it as I might have done otherwise,” Radcliffe told us in March . “I was slightly annoyed about that.” And now, we finally get to see (in part, anyway) what all the fuss is about, because Harry’s forest walk is featured prominently in the new “Deathly Hallows” trailer , which premiered online Monday. If Radcliffe was indeed as fearful about the scene as he suggested, the actor made good use of those nerves. The Harry Potter we see enter the woods to greet Voldemort is a trembling one who clutches his wand and moves forward toward certain death. He has come to sacrifice himself so that others might live. It is a courageous decision, yet a fraught one: Harry loves Ginny, and he does not want to die. All these emotions are writ across Radcliffe’s face as he approaches Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. “Harry Potter, the boy who lived … come to die,” the dark wizard says. Harry gulps, closes his eyes. This is the end. Voldemort unleashes a ferocious scream. And so their fight begins. As “Harry Potter” fans know, that brawl gets brutal. Even more brutal, of course, than the shoot needed to capture it. “It was really hard,” Radcliffe said. “It was one of those scenes where by the third day of it, we were going, ‘I don’t know if I like this one as much as I did in the beginning.’ It was really, really tough.” What do you think of the new “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” trailer? ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Movie Trailer

At last, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” full trailer is now available shows some dark roads ahead for Harry, Ron and Hermione. Every being will need to pick a side in the epic war that’s to begin. This is the final chapter of Harry Potter wherein our heroes leave Hogwarts and embark on a journey to complete Dumbledore’s search for the remaining Horcruxes. Meanwhile, Voldemort has taken over the Ministry of Magic and it’s not safe for anyone who isn’t Team Death Eater. The trailer begins ominously enough as an offscreen voice informs Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) that “there’s no sign of him, my lord.” The “him” in question quickly makes himself known, as Harry Potter (Radcliffe) emerges in a dark forest clearing, wand at the ready, eyes locked with the serpentine Voldemort’s. “Harry Potter,” Voldemort hisses softly. “The Boy Who Lived … come to die!” Split into two parts, there’s definitely enough material to fill two films. The Horcruxes won’t give themselves up easily. Old friends will risk their lives to beat Voldemort’s forces. And there’s a huge battle over the school and between Harry and Voldemort. Now, fans are getting their first look as to what lies ahead in the final “Harry Potter” adventure, with the first full-length trailer for “Deathly Hallows” debuting online early Monday evening (June 28). Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as Harry, Ron and Hermione in “Deathly Hallows,” which has been divided into two films. Despite the decision to split the story in two, the feature-length trailer combines elements from both films for one epic masterpiece highlighting the final showdown between the Boy Who Lived and He Who Must Not Be Named. Trailer describes “Deathly Hallows” as “the finale of the worldwide phenomenon, the motion picture event of a generation.” Based on the footage seen here, those words are hardly an understatement. The first part of “Deathly Hallows” arrives in theaters this November, with the final installment in the “Harry Potter” series unfolding in July 2011. Peter Jackson Reportedly Negotiating To Direct ‘The Hobbit’

Guillermo del Toro stepped down as director just over three weeks ago. By Eric Ditzian Peter Jackson Photo: MTV News In a stunning development in the long-delayed big-screen adaptation of “The Hobbit,” just over three weeks after Guillermo del Toro abandoned directorial duties , Peter Jackson is reportedly negotiating to step into the director’s chair for the two-part production. Deadline.com reports that Jackson is in the midst of negotiations with Warner Bros., New Line and MGM. Jackson, of course, is intimately familiar with Middle-earth, having directed the three installments of the “Lord of the Rings” franchise and winning the Oscar for directing in 2003. He was already co-writing the “Hobbit” screenplays, based on the 1937 book by J.R.R. Tolkien, and shepherding development as a producer. And while rumors surfaced last week that Jackson was being courted to direct as well, that possibility seemed like wishful thinking for Tolkienites. Both “Hobbit” films are said to be gearing up to shoot back-to-back in Jackson’s native New Zealand. MGM has been waging a very public struggle with financial issues, and Deadline repots that the studio is being encouraged to “loosen the purse strings and make the movies happen.” Since del Toro left the production late last month, after two years of pre-production, directors like David Yates (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”) and Neill Blomkamp (“District 9”) have been rumored to be circling the job. But Jackson and his creative team have reportedly scheduled trips to London and Los Angeles to meet with potential actors, lending further credence to the idea that Jackson will, in fact, take on “Hobbit” directing duties. MTV News’ requests for comment from Jackson’s representative and MGM were not returned as of press time. ‘Abduction’ Adds Maria Bello, Jason Isaacs To Cast

Taylor Lautner-starring flick starts shooting in July. By Adam Rosenberg Maria Bello Photo: MTV News If you’re going to be abducted and raised by a new set of parents, you could certainly do a lot worse than Maria Bello and Jason Isaacs. The duo have been cast as the not-parents of Taylor Lautner in the John Singleton-directed thriller “Abduction,” according to Deadline New York . The story follows Lautner’s character as he sets out to learn who he really is after he finds his baby picture posted on a missing-persons website. The newly hired actors join an already-sizable cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Lily Collins, Denzel Whitaker, Michael Nyqvist and, of course, “Twilight” heartthrob Lautner . With these last major roles squared away, production on the film is set to begin on July 12 in Pittsburgh. Bello is one of the stars in the ensemble comedy “Grown Ups,” out June 25, which features Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph. She’ll also star with “New Moon” vampire Michael Sheen in “Beautiful Boy,” which has an unspecified 2010 release. Isaacs, who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the villainous Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” series, will star in the new Fox legal drama “Pleading Guilty” this fall. He and the rest of the “Potter” cast just wrapped production on the two-part series closer, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Those movies hit theaters on November 19, 2010, and July 15, 2011. Lautner will shoot “Abduction” before joining his fellow “Twilight” cast members in the fall for filming on “Breaking Dawn,” which like “Deathly Hallows,” will be released in two parts. “Eclipse,” the third movie in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance series, arrives in theaters on June 30. ‘Harry Potter’ Filming Wraps — For The Last Time

‘Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic!’ co-star Warwick Davis tweets after shooting final ‘Deathly Hallows’ scene. By Terri Schwartz Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” Photo: Warner Bros. It’s the end of an era. Warwick Davis said it best when he tweeted on Saturday from the set of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” once director David Yates had wrapped shooting on the “Potter” franchise — for the last time — after 10 years. “The end of an Era — today is officially the last day of principal photography on ‘Harry Potter’ — ever,” wrote Warwick, who is also known for his work in “Star Wars” and “Willow.” “I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic! X … and goodbye Griphook!” Davis is known to “Potter” fans as Hogwarts Professor Flitwick, but in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” director Chris Columbus also cast the actor as a “goblin bank teller” at the wizard bank, Gringotts. Davis’ teller comes to the aid of Harry Potter and his half-giant guardian Hagrid in the 2001 film. And that goblin, Griphook, has a larger, more pivotal role in “Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” It had long been announced that the final scene to be filmed at the end of “Deathly Hallows,” would be a flash-forward epilogue, but it appears some scenes needed to be re-shot from either the ( spoilers ahead ) rescue of Griphook from Malfoy Manor or the break-in at Gringotts, both major scenes featuring Griphook in “Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” To celebrate the end of filming, Rupert Grint showed up to set in his “Mr. Whippy” old school ice cream truck and served up scoops to the cast and crew. “It brought a smile to everyone’s face on what was a very emotional day,” Davis wrote on Twitter.
