The man who allegedly killed two NYPD officers in Brooklyn this afternoon has been identified. Witnesses say Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, approached the officers’ patrol car and shot each man several times. Reportedly, Brinsley then turned the gun on himself and took his own life. The gunman is to believed to have been motivated by the killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner . Earlier today, Brinsley posted a series of threatening messages on his Instagram page: “I’m Putting Wings on Pigs Today,” Brinsley wrote. “They take 1 of ours…Let’s take 2 of theirs. #ShootThe Police #RIPEricGarner #RIPMikeBrown This May Be My Final Post.” The shooting was described by one law enforcement official as “an execution.” “The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up,” a high-ranking officer told the New York Daily News. After what one witness described as “pumping bullets” into the car, Brinsley fled to a nearby subway station, where he shot himself in the head. Gand jury decisions not to indict the officers responsible for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner have led to protests in metropolitan centers across the country. Several police officers have reported being assaulted during demonstrations, but this is the first time that anger over the deaths of Brown and Garner has resulted in murder.

A new theory of conspiracy in the death of Princess Diana in 1997 has royal family watchers buzzing once again, but is there any merit to it at all? Princess Diana Death Conspiracy Theory Fourteen years after she would’ve seen her son wed Kate Middleton and 16 years after she would have welcomed a Royal Baby grandson, Diana’s death still fascinates. The new conspiracy theory? That someone in the military was behind the tragedy. Officials seem to be already knocking down the claim, however, denying the British military was involved in the deaths of Diana, her boyfriend and driver. “This is not a re-investigation,” London police tersely stressed in a statement. The story appears to have been sent to military authorities and London police. The parents-in-law of a British special forces sniper whose marriage had fallen apart, according to an article in the Sunday People newspaper, made the claim: A handwritten letter by the in-laws alleges that the soldier boasted to his wife that the elite British Special Air Service commando unit was behind the deaths. Military authorities have been aware of the claim since a 2011 court-martial of the soldier’s former roommate on weapons charges, the paper reported. The unnamed soldier mentioned in the letter was a witness in that case. Neither the Sunday People piece nor an earlier version carried by Press Association offered details of the claimed involvement by soldiers in the deaths. Diana, 36, and Dodi Fayed, her 42-year-old boyfriend, died when the Mercedes they were traveling in hit a pillar in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris. They were being followed at the time by paparazzi after leaving the Ritz Hotel. Their driver, Henri Paul, also killed, was drunk and driving at high speed. Bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones was the sole survivor. The princess left behind her two children, Prince William, whose wife Kate recently gave birth to Diana’s first grandchild George, and Prince Harry. A British coroner’s inquest in 2008 concluded that their deaths were the result of “grossly negligent driving of the following vehicles and of the Mercedes.” The inquest found no evidence of murder, yet conspiracy theories accusing intelligence services and/or members of British royalty of orchestrating it have been a constant. Prince Diana remains wildly popular in death, and news of the new claim sparked an immediate surge in discussion of her death on celebrity gossip sites and social media. But many seemed skeptical, and it’s unclear if the allegations will make it any farther than previous claims have. London police certainly aren’t taking it seriously. The U.K.’s Ministry of Defense said “this is for Metropolitan Police to investigate.” “Not Prepared to Discuss Further,” Scotland Yard said in its own statement.

Talk about going out with a bang! A couple in China getting freaky against a window suffered a fatal fall when the glass gave way. Via UK’s The Sun reports : A COUPLE are believed to have fallen to their deaths when a window they were having sex against gave way, say reports. The horrific accident allegedly happened in China when the glass pane shattered. The tragic man and woman are then understood to have hurtled to their deaths. Eyewitnesses said the couple both fell to the ground as they clinched on to each other. A source in China said: “With the two of them holding each other tight, they fell out of the building”. Shocking photos in China appear to show the couple on the ground under sheets. Blood is splattered near their bodies on the pavement. Medical staff and what appear to be police officers can also be seen examining the scene. The man and woman are thought to have fallen out of an apartment in the city of Wuhan, central China. Local sites suggested windows in the building were of poor quality. This is sad as hell. Wonder if their families would be able to sue the building owners? Do they have the same abundance of civil litigation over there as here, anybody know?

Mother Charged After 4 Children Die In Mobile Home Fire A 21-year-old woman whose four young children died from inhaling smoke during a mobile home fire that occurred while they were left alone has now been charged with homicide and neglect in connection with their deaths. via USA Today A 21-year-old mother of four whose children died in a mobile home fire was charged Friday in connection with their deaths. Darlington County sheriff’s deputies arrested Hope Hawkins of Hartsville, S.C., on Thursday, a day after her children ages 10 months to 4 years old were found dead from smoke inhalation in a closet in a bedroom after her kitchen caught fire. She did not arrive at home until firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire, investigators said. It took firefighters less than 10 minutes to put out the fire. Hawkins was first charged with one count of unlawful neglect of a child Thursday. Hours later, Sheriff Wayne Byrd added three more counts totaling four counts of homicide by child abuse. Sisters Myasia and Kynasia Hawkins, 10 months; and their brothers, Camaron Mason, 2, and Delonta Dixon, 4, died Wednesday. This is so heartbreaking….these poor children. Sia Ka Tian, 70, who has worked as a taxi driver in the Asian city-state for more than 30 years, said he had no desire to keep the mysterious windfall. “The money is unimportant to me. It doesn’t belong to me, so how can I use it?” he said. Sia found the bag after dropping off a vacationing Thai couple at a shopping center Monday. He knew there was a lot of money in it, but didn’t bother to count it. If you’re not gonna keep it, why bother right? Instead, he immediately turned it in to the lost-and-found office at his employer, ComfortDelGro transport company, who the couple had already contacted. Sia was waiting for them when they arrived to claim their cash.
A horrific collision in Hong Kong Monday resulted in the deaths of two visiting chefs from Heston Blumenthal’s famous British restaurant, The Fat Duck. Lotus PR identified the late Fat Duck chefs as Jorge Ivan Arango Herrera and Carl Magnus Lindgren. The chefs’ taxi driver also died in the tragic crash. “They were both senior members and great and dear friends,” according to a statement. The restaurant added, “Two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed.” The purpose of the trip to Hong Kong was for a private event. Blumenthal, also in Hong Kong, identified the bodies of the two chefs , according The Standard newspaper, which featured a photograph of him with police. According to Hong Kong police, a bus was traveling downhill and hit two cars, crossed into the other lane and crushed the chefs’ taxi against another bus. In addition to the three deaths, 56 people were injured, including the driver of the other bus, a baby and a 90-year old, according to police officials.
