Jeremy Vuolo SLAMMED for Calling Catholicism a Demonic, Pagan Religion!

A lot of people love the Duggars because of how strongly they value their religion, and how deeply they believe in it. But a lot of other people wish they would cool their jets about certain issues. For example, as we’ve seen in recent months, it’s always a big issue when one of the Duggar women dares to wear something other than a long, plain skirt. From what we’ve heard, Jinger wearing pants is about to damn near tear the family apart. There’s also the thing about having baby after baby after baby, regardless of the health of the woman popping out all those kids. Because the Lord isn’t down with contraception. And then there’s the unwavering forgiveness for Josh Duggar , who molested four of his sisters … The point is that the Duggars have many extreme views, and that they make a lot of people uncomfortable. And a sermon delivered by Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger’s brand new husband , is following in that same tradition. See, Jeremy as a pastor at a church in Laredo, Texas. And apparently a lot of Catholics live in Laredo. For him, that is not OK. In a recent sermon he preached at the church, he decided to offer up his stance on Catholicism, which he referred to as “demonic.” Yeah, he doesn’t seem to be too fond of the whole thing. “I just want to say this, kind of as an aside for us here in Laredo,” he said. “There are spiritual strongholds in our world today, aren’t there?” “Just as Paul and Silas encountered the demonic in Phillippi, so we encounter that here in Laredo. In this city we have the pagan religion of Catholicism gripping the souls of the majority.” Catholicism is a pagan religion? We thought it was a Christian religion, but OK, Jeremy. It really seems like he doesn’t see Catholicism as a different denomination of Christianity, but as a different religion altogether — he suggested this in another part of his sermon. “When the question comes, ‘What must I do to be saved?’, Catholicism tells you to clean up your life and adequately perform the sacramental duties,” he said.” For Islam, he said “the only way for you to be certain of paradise is if you die in jihad,” and “for those who claim to be Jews but are not” (???), the key is to follow the Torah and “just do your best.” However, “the message of the Christian is that of grace” — just not if you’re a Catholic Christian, it seems. His views fit in with the rest of the Duggars pretty well: remember, Jill and Derick Dillard are missionaries in El Salvador , which is 85% Christian, just with a Catholic majority. But still, Jeremy is getting a whole, whole lot of hate for the statements he made in his sermon. “What is with the pagan religion of Catholicism?” one person asked on Twitter. “Do we believe a reality show whore, or a 2k year church founded by an apostle?” “You should be ashamed for disrespect you show for Catholics,” another wrote. “Pagan? Please you and your church are spewing this hate. God is Judge, not you.” One person pointed out that “Referring to Catholicsm as ‘pagan’ not only insults Catholics, but Pagans. Study both before making such off-base comments.” A particularly upset Twitter user wrote “AS A PROUD CATHOLIC I AM DISTURBED BY THIS. BE ASHAMED! NOT CHRISTIAN OF YOU AT ALL! BLASPHEMY!” Even though Jeremy is getting this much criticism, we highly doubt he’ll change his opinion or consider these other points of view. That’s just not the Duggar way. Austin Forsyth’s Letter to Joy-Anna Duggar on Their Wedding Day Will Melt Your Heart

On May 26, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth tied the knot in Arkansas, completing the transition from side hugs to married life. Much has been written about this watershed moment for Duggar Nation, but nothing compares to what Austin himself wrote that day. Before Austin and Joy-Anna’s wedding , which took place at Cross Church in Rogers, Ark., penned a sweet love letter to his bride-to-be. Whatever you think of the Duggars and their in-laws, it is touching beyond words, and may inspire you to write a similar one yourself. “My dearest love,” Austin Marytn Forsyth began in his handwritten letter, posted to the TLC website ahead of tomorrow’s season premiere. “The very thought of getting to be your husband is very humbling and a great honor. You are truly a gift from our Heavenly Father.” “The way we have been brought together is very evident that we serve a God who cares so much for us,” the would-be groom continued. “I try to imagine God’s unmerited favor, the best example I know is how He has blessed me with you! You are such a woman of character. “The heart you have for Him, His word, and His people has challenged me time and time again to love Him and you all the more.” “Getting to spend time with you is my favorite thing,” he added. “You are fun, enthusiastic, adventurous, and always willing to try new things.” “I love you with all my heart and can’t wait to grow deeper in love with you!” Austin said, putting an official end to  Joy-Anna’s cold feet . Their lifestyle choices, religious believes and sheer number of things banned by the Duggar family have been debated at length. From old-fashioned patriarchal conventions and forced religious rituals to their aggressive procreation, many aspects are controversial. But this? This is just touching. Hopefully it becomes a tradition in and of itself to pen letters like this, because it’s something anyone – regardless of religion – would cherish. Perhaps Joe will take note. The next member and soon-to-be members of this famous family to be walking down the aisle are Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell . He actually popped the question at his sister’s reception that same day ( Joe was slammed for this , but Joy-Anna gave him her blessing). “We are super excited. It’s great to not be courting anymore, now we’re engaged!” the couple said. “I was definitely nervous going into it.” “But I wasn’t afraid that she was going to say no,” he added, and for good reason it turned out. “She had said, ‘I’m just waiting on you!'” View Slideshow: Joy-Anna Duggar Wedding Photos Released: Check Out Mrs. Forsyth’s Big Day! Pretty wonderful all around. The Duggars will always endure scrutiny from a chorus of critics, and often times, those detractors will raise some valid concerns. Discussions of gender roles, in particular, and how the famous family treats women within relationships are worth having in a civil manner. Still, there’s little doubt that relationships like Austin and Joy’s are rooted in so much love, compassion and devotion to one another. What’s not to love. Check out the above gallery for all the behind-the-scenes photos from the wedding day, from the couple themselves to the whole family! Jinger Duggar: Hiding Baby Bump in Latest Photo?!

Back in November,  Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo . And naturally, the pregnancy rumors started flying almost immediately. After all, Jinger is a Duggar, which means she’s been raised to believe that women have been placed on this planet for the sole reason of serving as breeding vessels. So it’s somewhat surprising that nearly seven months after she and Jeremy exchanged vows, there’s still been no official confirmation that Jinger is knocked up . Of course, there’s been plenty of speculation about Jinger hiding her pregnancy in her latest social media photos. And why would a woman who’s been open about her plans to raise a brood of comparable size to the one she grew up in? Because the Duggars have a new season of Counting On to promote, of course! Weddings and pregnancy announcements are the Duggars’ bread and butter, and Instagram posts don’t always result in ratings bumps. In order to fully cash in, the revelation needs to be made on TV, which might be why we get photos like this: Jeremy posted that photo yesterday, along with a caption reading: “Jinger and I couldn’t be more grateful for our dear friend Pastor Michael Mahoney of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA and his amazing family. We love you guys!” Yes, Jinger and Jeremy are indoors in Califorina in June, and yet Jinger is going with the full Inspector Gadget-style trench coat. Look, all of us who have been slacking on working on our summer bodies would love to rock four or five layers this time of year and not be questioned about it. But when you’re a public figure who’s very likely knocked up, getting questioned about your attire is unavoidable. We’re not saying with any certainty that Jinger is knocked up, but we can certainly see why other people might be saying that. “Only the top [button] is buttoned. It’s a bun in the oven!” one fan commented on the photo. “It’s very possible that Jinger could be expecting,” another stated bluntly. The Duggars do a lot of things well, breeding chief among them.  But as we’ve learned in the past, keeping secrets is not their strong suit. Zach Roloff: I Worry About My Son. This is Why.

Zach Roloff is a brand new father. But he may need to face down some old demons in the years ahead. The Little People, Big World star welcomed a son named Jackson into the world on May 12, posing for a couple photos with the newborn and his wife, Tori. Said the reality star in a statement at the time: “Baby and mother are doing great and Jackson is already mastered holding daddy’s fingers and snuggling with mom! He is adorable and Tori and I are loving being parents.” Since this special development, Zach has opened up in more depth about his son. As relayed to People Magazine in an exclusive interview, the Roloffs learned that Jackson carried the dwarf gene (achondroplasia) when Tori was 34 weeks along. They broke this news to their family, but withheld the information from the public until just a few days ago. For Zach, the challenge that this will present is to ensure his child doesn’t suffer in the same way as he did while growing up. “I grew up with the name-calling,” the 27-year old tells People , adding: “I look at my childhood and being a boy on the farm, it was a little tough because boys are very alpha-doggy and follow the pack. “I was always chasing the back and way behind the pack. It was tough.” (Men with the genetic condition of achondroplasia grow an average height of 4’4″ … with a normal lifespan; babies, meanwhile, may experience breathing problems and delays in muscle development.) Having a son who is like himself means that Zach and Tori will need to be especially helpful and positive when it comes to how Jackson sees both himself and the world. But they are up for this unique challenge. “You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two,” explains Roloff. “But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it.” On an earlier episode of his family’s TLC series, Zach opened up to his mother about concerns for Jackson. Prior to the baby being born, Zach reiterated how his childhood was “tough” and how he was worried it would be the same for his impending son. “You can’t keep up,” Zach said to Little People, Big World star Amy, remembering what life was like for him many years ago. “You can’t out-climb the other boys on the trees, you can’t outrun the other boys…Remember when I would come crying to you?” Yes , Amy told her son. She did remember that. But there’s reason for optimism. There’s a reason for Zach to feel better about what may be awaiting his son once he enters elementary school and middle school. “The world is changing. People are more open to diversity,” says the reality star and soccer coach, concluding of little Jackson: “Whatever he wants to do, we’re going to find a way to help him do it. That’s our job in life now.” In the end? Jackson is happy and Jackson is healthy. “That’s all that matters,” Zach tells People. Joy-Anna Duggar Wedding Photos Released: Check Out Mrs. Forsyth’s Big Day!

Over the weekend, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth got married after just over six months of dating (or “courting,” in the Duggar parlance). That may seem incredibly fast, but procreation is kind of the Duggars' thing, and we imagine most young people would rush to the altar if they were denied any premarital physical contact beyond hand-holding. But while Joy-Anna and Austin's courtship was certainly a short one, the young couple didn't seem to have any doubts on their big day. Check out some of the best pics from the occasion in the gallery below:   1. Joy-Anna Duggar on Her Wedding Day Yay for Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth! As you can tell here, they’re married! 2. Amy Duggar: I’m Gonna Have a Baby!!!

For over a month now, many, many people have claimed that Amy Duggar is pregnant . It would make sense — she’s 30 years old, she and her husband, Dillon King, have been married for a couple of years, and they’ve both expressed interest in becoming parents. And hey, if Amy wants to follow in her famous family’s footsteps , she’s really going to need to get things moving. This most recent round of rumors began when Amy’s Instagram followers noticed that she’d been making a habit out of wearing loose, flowy clothing. Was it simply a fashion statement, or a way to hide a baby bump before she felt comfortable making a pregnancy announcement? That was the question. And now, in a new podcast from Amy and Dillon, they’re clearing everything up. But in doing that, they’re confusing us more than ever. It turns out that Amy is not currently pregnant, or at least that’s what she wants us to believe. “Babe, are we having kids?” she asked Dillon during the podcast. “Yes, we’re having kids!” he answered. “I don’t know when … at some point, we’re definitely going to have kids.” Amy went on to explain that they “kinda have a plan” when it comes to having children, but “it probably won’t work.” Dillon added “It’ll probably be interrupted by an oops.” What does that even mean? Well, Amy said “I’ll be honest, I am not on birth control,” and Dillon said that he doesn’t wear condoms — so it sounds like they’re doing nothing to prevent pregnancy. “We’re going to have kids, eventually,” Amy concluded. “We have a plan, but then again God is over it, and plans change.” “But I want to be a young mom, a fun mom, a very energetic mom.” … Huh? It’s a little confusing, because when it comes to having children, it’s pretty clear how things work. If Amy isn’t on birth control and Dillon isn’t wearing condoms, then they could get pregnant at any time. If they do have a plan , then obviously they’re not too worried about sticking to it. It sounds like they want to wait a little bit to have a baby, but they’re not taking any responsibility for what Amy’s uterus decides to do. Classic Duggar move. Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell: Engaged!!

Right on the heels of news that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth married  after all comes another cause for celebration in Arkansas: Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell got engaged! The 22-year-old and his 18-year-old fiancee announced their courtship just a few months ago, and just made things even more official. When he proposed … at Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding! People magazine was the first publication to confirm that he popped the question right after his little sister, 19, walked down the aisle. The pair, who met through their church, confirmed it. “We are super excited. It’s great to not be courting anymore, now we’re engaged!” Joseph Duggar and his beaming bride-to-be shared. “I’m so happy and so shocked. There’s so many words I want to say, but just shocked,” says Kendra, while Joseph revealed: “I was definitely nervous going into it, but I wasn’t afraid that she was going to say no, because she has said, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’” Not a lot of marriage proposals get turned down in Duggar Nation, it’s true. A courtship, after all, is basically a precursor to an engagement. When news of Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell courting first surfaced in March, few expected they would not get engaged soon. We just weren’t expecting quite this soon! “We are so excited to share the news with others that we are courting,” Joseph said then. “Our families are close friends through church.” “This has allowed Kendra and me to get to know each other. She’s the best!” Duggar added, and obviously, the feeling was quite mutual. “I’m looking forward to getting to spend more time with Joseph as we take this exciting step toward a new season in life,” Kendra added. “It’s a really wonderful moment!” Counting On Season 4, featuring Joy-Anna and Austin’s wedding, and Joseph asking Kendra’s dad’s permission to court, begins June 12. Not much of a spoiler to say that the scene teased in the Counting On Season 4 trailer ends up with a positive result for Joe in the end. As for talk that Joseph got Kendra Caldwell pregnant before marriage and that’s why this is being fast-tracked even by Duggar standards? It makes for great gossip … but that’s likely all it is. The Duggars stick to their guns when it comes to their dating and courtship rules. Much as we’d all love a great rebellion story along those lines, we’ll have to be content with mini-scandals like  Jinger wearing shorts .  Probably for the best. View Slideshow: 16 Disturbing Things BANNED By the Duggar Family At this stage, we still know relatively little about the next Duggar in-law, but as you might expect, she comes from a similar background. Kendra and her sister Lauren both captured the attention of Counting On fans during Jinger Duggar’s wedding episode last season. The sisters, along with Joy-Anna’s now-husband Austin Forsyth, all helped assemble a large “V” made out of roses for that wedding. When that installment aired on TLC, the prevailing wisdom among the fans who watch Counting On online was exactly this scenario: Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell were secretly courting, or getting to know each other in anticipation of that very strong possibility. As for part two of the dual-Caldwell courting rumor?  View Slideshow: Duggar Family Photos: Then & Now! Either Jedidiah or Jeremiah Duggar is rumored to be interested in Lauren, though it remains unclear at press time if that’s legitimate. Regardless … congrats Joseph and Kendra!!

Jill Duggar Accused of Faking Grief Over Friend’s Murder

Last week, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard shared some startling news from their temporary home in El Salvador. It seems a friend of Jill and Derick’s was murdered near his home in the couple’s village. Jill reported the news with a lengthy social media tribute to her late friend: “We received a phone call on Monday from a friend here in Central America informing us that one of our other good friends (a fellow Christian) had been murdered the day before and that his family had found his body down by the river earlier that morning,” Jill wrote. “Even though we had spoke [sic] with our friend and his family about the realities of the dangers here, and especially in their area right now, we were shocked when we learned of his kidnap [sic] and murder.” Fans were shocked, and many expressed their concerns for the Dillards safety or offered prayers for the family of their departed friend. However, now it seems that others were doubtful about the sincerity of the Dillards’ grief. Hollywood Life posted the above photo on Tuesday, along with a headline reading: “Jill Duggar Posts Baby Bump Snap After Revealing Her Friend Was Murdered” The site went on to write: “Jill Duggar seems to be in good spirits despite the tragic death of her friend, on May 22. She posted a photo on May 23, with her mother Michelle, where she showed off her growing bump. “The snap came just 24 hours after she learned that her friend had been murdered.” We hate to get all Gossip Cop on you, but Hollywood Life may need to check its facts on this one. Jill posted about her slain friend on May 17. The photo above (which is nowhere to be found on Jill’s IG account) appears to have been posted by a Duggar fan site on May 23. The Dillards just returned to the US on May 20, so Jill couldn’t possibly have posed with her mother within 24 hours of the murder. On top of all of that, we have no way of knowing when that photo was actually taken (It could be from Jill’s first pregnancy!) or when the Dillards’ friend was murdered. (In all likelihood, Jill waited a day or two before posting the information online.) View Slideshow: Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard Photos: A True Love Timeline From Courtship to Parenthood, Twice! In short, we’re calling BS. Dammit, Hollywood Life, you’ve forced us to defend the Duggars. Watch Counting On online to relive Jill and Derick’s tumultuous says in El Salvador.

Jill Duggar Reveals Friend’s Shocking Murder, Prompts Safety Concerns From Fans

Back in February,  Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard returned to El Salvador to continue performing missionary work in the one of the Central American nation’s poorest villages. It wasn’t Jill and Derick’s first time taking such a trip, but this time around, Jill is pregnant with her second child , and the couple is traveling with their young son Israel Dillard in tow. As a result, many fans chided the Dillards for putting themselves and their son in danger – and that chorus of criticism will likely grow louder in the wake of a stunning new revelation from Jill: Taking to her family’s official website yesterday, Jill informed fans that she and Derick are currently mourning the loss of a close friend. A friend who was recently murdered in one of El Salvador’s crime-plagued slums. “We received a phone call on Monday from a friend here in Central America informing us that one of our other good friends (a fellow Christian) had been murdered the day before and that his family had found his body down by the river earlier that morning,” Jill wrote Jill didn’t offer many specifics, but it seems the friend was a native of El Salvador, whom she and Derick had become close with in recent weeks. “Even though we had spoke [sic] with our friend and his family about the realities of the dangers here, and especially in their area right now, we were shocked when we learned of his kidnap and murder,” Jill revealed. She added: “We’ve had them into our home three times in the past couple weeks!” Jill went on to report that Derick attended the unnamed friend’s funeral, while she stayed home in stunned disbelief: “After our regular church service last night, Derick was able to attend the funeral service with some people from church while Israel and I (Jill) stayed back at the house,” Jill wrote. “Typically funerals are held in a family member’s home and last several hours into the night. “Our friend’s funeral was held in their area and Derick and some men from church were able to share some words of encouragement with the family and guests. We have cried and continue to grieve the loss of our dear friend. ” Since the time of the Dillards’ first mission trip, fans have expressed concerns about the family’s safety. Jill has written about safety issues in the past, and many have pointed out that life in El Salvador seems to have had a negative impact on  Derick’s health .  But Jill has given no indication that she and Derick are planning to return to the States ahead of schedule. She concluded this week’s message from abroad with the following request to fans: View Slideshow: Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Photos “We will only be here a little while longer, before we return to the States to prepare for the birth of our second little one, so please also continue to pray for God’s strength and grace to carry on with responsibilities and make the most of the short time left here before our return.” We’re sure Duggar devotees will deliver in that regard.

Duggar Family: Lying About Kids’ TV Habits?

If you watch Counting On online , you know that the Duggar family enforces a very strict set of household rules, many of which pertain to media consumption. Yes, despite the fact that they’ve made a fortune from their reality TV shows, the Duggars are extremely protective with regard to the way their children use the Internet and watch television. Duggar kids aren’t allowed to have social media accounts until they’re married, and as far as television goes, if it doesn’t star Jesus or a claymation dog talking about Jesus, it’s pretty much off limits. Or perhaps we should say that was the case, as these days it looks like Jim Bob and Michelle are enforcing a considerably more lax set of rules. Prior to the Josh Duggar sex scandals that cost them a fair amount of parenting cred, the Duggars were happy to share their child-rearing techniques with an army of disturbingly loyal fans. Some rules were better known then others (girls are forbidden to wear pants and forced to stick to skirts; no physical contact beyond “side-hugs” is permitted before marriage), and there’s one that left many Duggar obsessives deeply confused. Michelle and Jim Bob say they don’t allow “worldly” influences such as television in their home. The couple says they got rid of their TV early in their marriage and found that they were happier without it. They gave television another try a few years ago but got tossed it a second time after feeling that they were becoming “addicted” to watching it. Jessa Duggar says her generation has followed suit, and that while she occasionally watches TV shows online, she and her husband Ben Seewald do not own a television. The weird TV phobia has long been viewed as one of the most Ned Flanders-y and hypocritical aspects of the strict Duggar dogma, but the family says they stand by their decision despite the appearance of mixed messages. Which is why so many fans were surprised to see the above photo of 7-year-old Josie Duggar has so many fans confused. At first glance, it’s just a simple photo of Josie holding a small puppy. But some eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that Josie is wearing a shirt emblazoned with a character from the Nickelodeon series Paw Patrol . “Interesting she has a Paw Patrol shirt on. I would have thought that’d be way too worldly,” one fan commented. Some hypothesized that it may have been a thrift store find, while others pointed out that the shirt appears to be brand new. Of course, this is a photo on the Duggars’ Facebook page, so there was more than just one controversy. One fan pointed out that Josie appears to need braces (In fairness, she claimed to be an orthodontist.), while others expressed concern for the dog: “I really dislike any child playing dress up with small dogs,” wrote one follower. “Little breeds have such delicate bones and should never be carried around by children!” We’re beginning to think the real reason the Duggars don’t allow media in their home is that they dislike the constant reminders that they’re less than perfect. Maybe the White House should employ a similar strategy! View Slideshow: Duggar Family Photos: Then & Now!
