I’ll give Ridley Scott this much: Despite leaving us all with a thousand unanswered questions at the end of Prometheus , he’s seemingly packed a multitude of answers into the upcoming Blu-ray, DVD, and 3D Blu home video release. Count down the days — mere days ! — until October 8, when the secrets of Prometheus are yours to devour, with a tantalizing look at the spoilery Blu-ray/DVD trailer. Not even counting spoiler-filled images and between-the-line conclusions hardcore fans can probably draw from this promo video, here are at least five spoilers dropped in the Blu-ray/DVD trailer alone. Let’s start with, oh, a HUGE SPOILER 30 seconds in that help connect the dots for those of you playing along at home who didn’t spend your entire life poring over message boards and spoiler threads to figure out WTF was going on in Prometheus : 1. “In my mind the Engineer sacrificed himself with this virus and created this horrific creature,” says an unidentified person, who presumably has knowledge of the film’s secrets even though duh , we know this already. 2. Production designer Arthur Max answers at least one burning question, kinda, which connects Prometheus directly to Alien : “In the original draft it was LV-426.” Undetermined: At what point that connective tissue was rewritten for the final film, or not, to confuse everyone. [Side note: Concept art of the alien penis snakes! Not a spoiler, but fun.] 3. Scott with the sequel plug: “If we do a sequel to this prequel we’ll find out who this race [The Engineers] was.” We’d better . 4. A glimpse of the alternate beginning, which suggests that the sacrificial Engineer who drank the goo and plummeted to his life-spawning fate was part of a larger organized ritual of some sort. That does make a bit more sense. Also: Ain’t no party like an Engineer party ’cause an Engineer party leads to ultimate destruction for all of humankind! Yeaaah! 5. And hey, an alternate ending! The Engineers came from “paradise,” eh? Fingers crossed for an entire reel of deleted severed-head David nuggets of wisdom. Watch the Blu-ray/DVD tease now and stock up on the essentials because seven hours of special features?? You know where I’ll be on October 9. Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . We’ve got a quartet of nude titles working their magic for you this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, Starz’ Magic City explodes onto DVD and Blu-ray with an eye-popping assortment of nudity from Olga Kurylenko , Jessica Marais , and many more. Also nude on DVD and Blu-ray, Another Earth (2011)’s Brit Marling stars as a seductive cult leader in Sounds of My Voice (2012), and the sci-fi streak continues on Blu-ray with deluxe re-releases of Cyborg (1989) and Blade Runner (1982). Piper Perabo – or as we call her here at Skin Central , Piper Pair o’ boobs- has been on a skinterview spree for her new movie Looper (2012), and she’s been telling reporters that she was “freaking out” about her nude scene. What a coincidence, Piper, so were we! See the video after the jump!
There’s only one movie this week that’s both new and nude, but based on the buzz surrounding Looper (2012) after preview screenings at Toronto and Fantastic Fest, it’s the only movie you’ll need. Piper Perabo breaks a ten-year nude drought as a showgirl who does the horizontal tango with star Joseph Gordon-Levitt 24 minutes in, and trust us– when it comes out on DVD, we’ll be looping this one. Extensively. More after the jump!

Whether you feel like making babies or just spilling some seed, we’ve got some good choices for you this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, Charlize Theron is diabolically hot as she makes her full frontal debut in The Devil’s Advocate (1997), nude on Blu-ray. Also nude in fright flicks, Anna Hutchison shows off her lovely lungs in The Cabin in the Woods (2012), nude on DVD and Blu-ray, as does Pamela Susan Shoop in Halloween 2 (1981), nude on Blu-ray. If you’re feeling a (t)it more domestic, America Olivo is nude this week in the babymaking comedy Conception (2011) and Olivia Munn sadly stays covered but Nikki Moore whips out her baby feeders in The Babymakers (2012), both nude on DVD. More after the jump!
Not nude in theaters, Olivia Wilde co-stars in The Words . But you can take my word for it– her topless scene in Alpha Dog (2006) is worth a thousand Words . New on Blu-ray, Irinia Voronina is fantastically nude fish food in Piranha 3DD (2012) , and How to Make it in America may have been canceled, but Lake Bell’s topless scene in Season Two will live forever thanks to a new Blu-ray release.
Given the Labor Day weekend, most of this week’s high-profile home-video releases are TV box sets timed to promote the new seasons of such returning favorites as The Good Wife and Grey’s Anatomy . That doesn’t mean film lovers are out of luck: there are new editions of beloved comedies from two very different directors who both managed to be brand names in their chosen fields. HIGH: The Navigator: Ultimate Edition (Kino Classics; $29.95 DVD/$34.95 Blu-Ray) Who’s Responsible: Directed by Buster Keaton and Donald Crisp from a story by Clyde Bruckman, Joseph Mitchell and Jean Havez; starring Keaton and Kathryn McGuire. What It’s All About: Keaton stars as the rich and thoroughly useless Rollo Treadway, who has his chauffeur drive him across the street so he can propose to the equally wealthy and spoiled Betsy O’Brien (McGuire). She turns him down, but through a series of complicated circumstances, the two of them find themselves alone on a ship in the middle of the Pacific. Things start out disastrously — she boils a giant pot of water to cook one egg — but they figure out a way to survive, just in time to face attack by angry islanders. Why It’s Schmancy: Academics, list-makers and cinematic know-it-alls of every stripe champion Keaton’s The General as one of the greatest silent comedies ever made, but I’ve always preferred this 1924 slapstick-heavy nautical epic. From the early scenes of the two young dilettantes trying to figure out who else is on the boat to Keaton’s underwater antics in a pre-SCUBA diving suit — which he later turns into a raft — The Navigator shows the legendary director in top form and makes the perfect movie to show to someone who’s never seen a silent movie before. Why You Should Buy It (Again): The “Ultimate Edition” marks the Blu-Ray debut of this classic, although both the Blu-Ray and the DVD releases include the HD master from the original 35mm negative, tinted to the filmmaker’s specifications. Both editions also include an orchestral score by Robert Israel, a featurette on the making of the film and Keaton’s ongoing fascination with boats as a source of comedy. Feature-length audio commentary by silent film historians Robert Arkus and Yair Solan, a photo gallery, and the audio of “Asleep in the Deep,” a 1913 hit song referenced in the film, gives this package some real depth. LOW: Zotz! (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment; $20.95 DVD) Who’s Responsible: Directed by William Castle, written by Ray Russell, based on the novel by Walter Karig; starring Tom Poston, Jim Backus, Margaret Dumont. What It’s All About: College professor Jonathan Jones (Poston) finds an ancient amulet and discovers that he can use it to slow down time, cause great pain and even (when it’s pointed at someone and the title of the film is uttered) kill people. Jones tries to pass the talisman along to the Department of Defense, but the government agents think he’s nuts. The Soviets, however, want to get their hands on it, and wackiness ensues. Why It’s Fun: Zotz! marked something of a departure for Castle, best known for thrillers and horror movies like The Tingler , The House on Haunted Hill , Homicidal and 13 Ghosts . What really made Castle famous was his love of gimmicks, whether it was insuring his audiences against death by fright, wiring theater seats to buzz unsuspecting patrons or unleashing a giant inflatable skeleton to fly through the theater. With Zotz!, he toned things down a bit, merely handing out replica medallions to audience members. Still, it’s a silly and entertaining comedy, featuring a rare lead role for legendary TV second banana Poston, best known as the doofus foil to Bob Newhart on his various hit sitcoms. Why You Should Buy It (Again): Sony is offering the film through its movies-on-demand (i.e., they don’t make it until you buy it) label “Choice Collection,” which in this case means there aren’t any extras. If you’re interested in Castle, you should instead spring for the William Castle Film Collection box set, which features Zotz! and several other Castle classics as well as a great documentary on the huckster filmmaker: Spine Tingler! The William Castle Story . Alonso Duralde has written about film for The Wrap , Salon and MSNBC.com. He also co-hosts the Linoleum Knife podcast and regularly appears on What The Flick?! (The Young Turks Network) . He is a senior programmer for the Outfest Film Festival in Los Angeles and a pre-screener for the Sundance Film Festival. He also the author of two books: Have Yourself A Movie Little Christmas (Limelight Editions) and 101 Must-See Movies for Gay Men (Advocate Books). Follow Alonso Duralde on Twitter. We’re saying farewell to two nude HBO stalwarts this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, bid adieu with Season Two of How to Make It in America , a series that started off slow but went out with Lake Bell’ s wonderful wobblers on display. Hung has also been canceled by HBO, but a new Season Three Blu-ray gives us Rebecca Creskoff , Kaitlin Doubleday and more nude to remember them by. In movie nudes, Piranha 3DD (2012) sinks its teeth into DVD and Blu-ray, and ’80s horror classics Re-Animator (1985) and the original Mother’s Day (1980) are nude on Blu-ray. More after the jump!
