The HSBC Climate Confidence Monitor 2009 questioned people from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Mexico, the UK and the USA to gauge their attitudes and behaviour regarding climate change.

Europe offers to cut emissions 95% by 2050

Europe attempted to reassert its international leadership in the fight against global warming today, offering to slash its greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95% by 2050 and by 30% by 2020 if a climate change pact is sealed in Copenhagen in six weeks' time. “This should be seen as a clear message to the world,” said Andreas Carlgren, the Swedish environment minister who chaired the Luxembourg meeting

Found far away: 32 new planets

Astronomers have found 32 new planets outside our solar system, adding evidence to the theory that the universe has many places where life could develop. Scientists using telescopes by the European Southern Observatory telescopes didn’t find any planets quite the size of Earth or any that seemed habitable or even unusual. But their announcement increased the number of planets discovered outside the solar system to more than 400.

Robert Halderman Search Warrants, David Letterman Extortion Plot Details Revealed

A Connecticut judge agreed to unseal police search warrants related to police raids on the home of Robert Halderman, David Letterman’s alleged blackmailer. Suffice it to say, there were some interesting findings. NYPD Detectives targeted “computers and loose media, floppy disk, hard disc, cassette tapes, magnetic tapes, removable media, tape and/or data cartridges.” Robert Halderman had some good stuff too .
