Heidi Montag And Spencer Pratt Sign Divorce Papers

‘Both Heidi and Spencer are in agreement to settle their divorce as quickly as possible,’ Montag’s lawyer says. By Jocelyn Vena Spencer Pratt Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/ Getty Images Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag seem to be well on their way to finalizing their divorce. The former “Hills” stars have reportedly taken the next step to dissolving their marriage, with Montag authorizing the service of her divorce papers to Pratt, TMZ reports. Last week, Pratt reportedly received and signed the papers. This means the divorce can become finalized six months from the time Pratt received the documents. Montag’s lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, said, “Both Heidi and Spencer are in agreement to settle their divorce as quickly as possible without the need of a court appearance.” While the pair are briskly moving along to the end of their marriage since tying the knot in April 2009, they have each been tweeting about their next moves. M.I.A.’s ‘XXXO’ Video Hits The Web

Hype Williams-directed clip is much tamer than her controversial ‘Born Free’ video. By Nuzhat Naoreen M.I.A. Photo: Roger Kisby/ Getty Images When it comes to M.I.A., we expect a certain degree of controversy. After all, the singer is no stranger to releasing songs and videos packaged with a message. So when her “XXXO” video hit the Net on Wednesday (August 11), we were understandably surprised. The Hype Williams-directed clip for “XXXO,” which, as the title implies, is about being in love (although not necessarily happily), is a marked departure from her “Born Free” video. While “Born Free” set off a firestorm of criticism for its violence, “XXXO” is much tamer in nature and much more hypnotic in style. M.I.A. is front and center in the video, which has an ’80s feel and relies heavily on graphics of hearts and flowers. In fact, the video appears to put M.I.A. inside a digital greeting card — although her look in the video is much more seductive, as she wears her hair loose and wavy and packs on the thick red lipstick. Of course, the video is not completely without political symbolism. The artist, who previously showed her support for the Tamil Tigers with her song “Paper Planes,” also features two tigers. While the video for “XXXO” only premiered Wednesday, M.I.A.’s fans are likely already familiar with the song. A remix of the song featuring Jay-Z was released back in June, and the artist herself put out the original track (along with the rest of her album ) on her MySpace page in July. What’s Next For Fantasia After Overdose? PR Expert Weighs In

‘I don’t think this is a career-breaker,’ Howard Bragman tells MTV News of apparent suicide attempt. By James Montgomery Fantasia Barrino Photo: Larry Busacca/ Getty Images In the day since former “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino was rushed to a North Carolina hospital after an apparent suicide attempt, reaction from her fans has been mixed. Some have expressed their support for the singer, while others have criticized her for being “selfish,” given that she is the mother of a 9-year-old girl. While that criticism might seem harsh, it’s certainly par for the course, according to public-relations executive Howard Bragman, who has overseen the career rehabilitations of Isaiah Washington and Naomi Campbell. Barrino can’t worry about what some of her fans might think of her right now, he said, because she has to focus on her own health. And no matter how bad things seem right now, the forgiveness will come. “I think the number-one thing Fantasia has to do is heal. I think she has to get some psychological help, find out what brought her to this moment, and make sure it doesn’t happen again … that is number one,” Bragman told MTV News. “And once that’s under control, then you start to look at your projects on the horizon. You don’t give yourself this timetable. But assuming she’s well enough in a matter of weeks or months to promote her album or her projects, well, the reality is, we live in a very forgiving society. “We like rehab, we like rebirth, we like reconnecting with people,” he continued. “We’re willing to give people a second chance if they look us in the eye and [tell us] why they’re going on with their lives and why they deserve a second chance. I don’t think this is a career-breaker.” Speaking of that career, Barrino will eventually have to return her focus to upcoming projects, including a second season of her VH1 reality show “Fantasia for Real” in September and a new album, Back to Me, which is due August 24. When she finally does, she needs to prepare herself for an onslaught of questions about just what happened Monday. So the best possible strategy, according to Bragman, is to be proactive about things. “I think she’s certainly going to get asked the question about what happened. And if she were my client, I would do one or two very well-orchestrated interviews, possibly a print interview, a People magazine, and then a broadcast interview … and get it out there,” he said. “And then if you’re asked about it again, you say, ‘You know, I’ve really talked about that a lot, and I feel comfortable with what I said, and I’m here to promote my album’ to change the focus a little.” Bragman added that Barrino needs to take time for herself and only come back when she feels strong enough to do so. And when she does, he expects that her fans will welcome her back with open arms. “I think we go back to talent, and I think she’s got great talent, she’s got great heart and great spirit, and I think we want her to succeed,” he said. “I don’t think she’s one of those people we don’t want to see do well. … We’re on her side, and I think she’s going to feel the love when she goes back out there.” Where should Fantasia go from here? Lil Wayne Talks Eminem, Drake And Prison Life

‘Every time I pick up the phone to dial a number, I feel like I’m a bother, because I’m in jail,’ he tells Hot 97 of keeping in touch with friends and family. By Hillary Crosley Lil Wayne (file) Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne called in to New York’s Hot 97 radio station Tuesday evening (August 3) from Rikers Island to talk about his time behind bars, hopeful collaborations and his upcoming EP, I’m Not a Human Being, due in September. Wayne started his sentence on gun charges in March and is scheduled for release in November . “I’m calling you from Rikers Island right now, unfortunately,” Lil Wayne said over a crackling phone line to Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex . When asked about the support he’s received from fans while in jail, he said, “It’s been more than amazing. I promise that I can’t explain the love and support I’ve been getting from my fans. I never knew it was like that, and I’ve been doing this for, what, 16 years? It’s breathtaking.” Wayne went on to remind listeners and fans how to reach him while he’s locked up. “All you have to do is go on my website WeezyThanxYou.com , and I think all of my information is on there where you can write to me, and I get my mail every day,” he said. “I read as much as I can and I respond, and if you want to hear me respond, all you have to do is check back on that same website, and I have a great lady named Karen Civil that puts up my responses, she puts up updates, everything is on there. Some people might faint when they see their name on there, and they be like, ‘Oh my God!’ It’s a great thing.” He also shared what he’s been listening to — and not listening to — during his jail time. “I’ll be very honest, Flex: I don’t listen to no music. All I listen to all day, if I am listening to anything, is sports. And that ain’t because of nothing, just the simple fact that I’ve never listened to anyone else’s music but my own, and since I’m not able to do that up in here, I don’t listen to anything. I don’t listen to nothing but my thoughts.” Wayne has at least checked out Eminem’s latest album, Relapse, which he’s featured on. “Em is him, and he’s back in a major way,” he said. ” … As far as Eminem the dude, he’s a great dude. He’s been keeping up with me since I’ve been in here, and I appreciate his support.” The rapper later said he’s “a sports fanatic” who “played football and baseball, and I played football more than baseball, but I never was any good, so it’s nothing to speak about. I just have a great knowledge of the game.” Wayne had a few thoughts about dream collaborations upon his release. “I’ve been saying to myself that I really want to do a song with either Andre 3000 or I really like my man Tech N9ne from the West Coast,” he said. “Other than that, I’ve been trying to do a song with this little dude Weezy; he’s stupid.” Wayne said he stays scarce when it comes to keeping up with Young Money stars Drake and Nicki Minaj. “I call Drake at least once a week, but I actually call three or four times a week, but he only picks up for me once a week,” the MC said with a laugh. As for calls to Minaj, he jokingly said, “That being my future wife, we talk every night. Nah, the same goes for her. I don’t like to bother them in the midst of what they’re doing, because I know they have a whole lot on their plate every single day. That’s my thing with everybody. They be like, ‘Why haven’t you called me?’ But it’s because I don’t want to bother. Put in this position, I just feel like every time I pick up the phone to dial a number, I feel like I’m a bother, because I’m in jail. I don’t have nothing else to do but talk to you, and that might not be what you want to do at the time. I don’t know if that’s just a conscious thing, but … I always feel like I’m bothering. I call Mack Maine every single day, and I know I get on his nerves, but he answers every single time.” Wayne went on to describe a typical day in Rikers. “I wake up around 12 noon, I jump on the phone, call Mack, call family, call my mother, call my kids — you know I got a lot of kids to call,” he said with a dry laugh. “After that, once I start reading that fan mail, literally, I could read it all day, every day because it’s so much. That fan mail knocks off like four, five hours of the day. And then I do dinner — whatever that may be in here — I jump on the phone again, and after that, I’m through.” As for what he’s learned from his stint in prison, the MC said he’ll “definitely move more carefully. I’ll definitely take heed to my situation and my status. I mean, when I ask myself … everybody says that you’re here for a reason, and I promise you, Flex, I try to find out that reason every day. I search for it. But I think when I get out, that’ll be the only time I’ll really know the answer. Every day I look for that reason.” As for Wayne’s upcoming EP, it’s on the way. “Yes, it’s gonna drop before Carter IV, only on the Internet,” Wayne said. “This is stuff that I recorded right before I came here.” As the jail phone beeped its warning that Wayne’s interview was coming to a close, the MC thanked all his fans for their support. “I don’t want the phone to hang up on us, so I want to say thank you to all my fans, and I love you, Flex, for giving me this opportunity,” he said. “I appreciate what you’re doing, Flex. Keep doing it.” What do you think about Lil Wayne’s comments from prison? Let us know in the comments. Related Artists Lil Wayne

Fabolous Re-Releasing The Funeral Service 2 Mixtape As An EP

‘It started out as something I wanted to give free to the fans and people who accept my work,’ he tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Fabolous Photo: Def Jam Midseason Salute: Fabolous’ The Funeral Service: There Is No Competition 2 We have to give credit where it’s due. Our segment on Fab’s mixtape has been one of the most applauded productions we’ve put together this year. Shot on location at Benta’s Funeral Home (shout to b-day girl Whitney!), Loso previewed what would be a front-runner for Mixtape of the Year. The Brooklyn native’s street CD was so hot, Def Jam stepped in and told him it was time to make some money off it. Fab is pulling a Drake and re-releasing the tape as an EP, much like Drizzy did with So Far Gone in ’09. “It’s really incredible how people will connect with the work,” Fab said. “I think we put a lot of work into it, with the whole funeral theme. We didn’t just say it and you had to daydream it. We went into the funeral homes. We picked caskets out for the competition. Def Jam, this summer, is gonna put the mixtape out as an EP. So I did about four new songs, put ’em with some of the original joints from the mixtape. We got more viral videos coming. We just gonna keep it going and let it end as the classic it is. A lot of people saying it’s a classic, one of the, if not the best mixtape of 2010. It’s crazy to me, because it started out as something I wanted to give free to the fans and people who accept my work. Def Jam even came in and said, ‘Whoa, we gotta get a piece.’ It’s a good thing, man. ” ‘Body Ya’ definitely did its thing,” he added about one of the standout cuts from the mixtape. “It got added to Hot 97 and Power 105.1. ‘Body Ya’ grew its own legs. The mixtape itself grew its own legs. People are still asking about it. In this fast-paced music industry, music and mixtapes don’t have that much longevity. You might listen to it for a month, somebody else drop they joint and you listening to it the next month. But No Competition 2, people are still listening to it , still on Twitter talking about it. It’s crazy.” Loso is keeping his production to new guys on the EP. “I worked with Sonaro, a producer who just signed to Street Family. He did ‘Body Ya.’ I worked with the guy who did [Rick Ross’] ‘Blowin’ Money Fast,’ Lex Luger. He did a song for me called ‘Lights Out.’ The one with Sonaro is called ‘Body Count.’ I did one more with Ryan Leslie called ‘You Be Killin’ Them.’ It’s a little bit more for the females but keeping with the theme. I think when people hear these three joints, they gonna be like, ‘He’s still giving us great music, and it’s just a mixtape, just an EP.’ And from here, I’m working on the album.” Fab’s album is Loso’s Way 2. Waka Flocka Flame ‘Hard In Da Paint’ Video Premieres

‘Whatever the fans grab, I’m running with it,’ the rapper says of choosing his singles. By Jayson Rodriguez Waka Flocka Flame in his music video for “Hard In The Paint” Photo: Warner Bros. Records Waka Flocka Flame is used to a certain amount of chaos surrounding his environment. The Atlanta-based rapper premiered his latest video for “Hard in Da Paint” on Sunday on MTV2, and in the clip the production was shut down by gang activity and police presence. The Benny Boom-directed number was shot in Los Angeles in the Jungle, a neighborhood made infamous courtesy of the Denzel Washington flick “Training Day.” “I go hard in that mother—-ing pain, n—a, leave you stankin’ n—a,” Waka raps on the track. Irina Shayk is Looking Hot of the Day

The biggest gay icon in soccer has this hot pussy named Irina Shayk as his girlfriend. I don’t know if it’s legit or if it is just a marketing push for her career while keeping his fans happy, cuz if you’ve ever seen soccer fans, you will know that they love to get boners to their favorite players, Ronaldo being one of those people, and the second he comes out of the closet, they will have a hard time cumming to his skills, cuz they will think it makes them gay too…..See, now it’s just a love of a sport and someone who plays the sport gracefully that gets them off, and nothing to do with the cock in the little shorts he wears but if he was gay, that would all change, since all his fans, despite being pansies are homophobic, making the whole thing fucking confusing…..But then again, he may just be euro and euro people are all kinda flaming….and really it doesn’t matter whether this bitch is fucking her man up the ass with a big black dildo or if he’s fucking her…cuz she is hot and the taste of fame is addictive and will lead to her naked in picture…we just gotta keep this momentum up. Lil Wayne Talks Daily Routine, New Lyrics In Letter To Fans

‘Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair,’ Weezy says of his new rhymes. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne Photo: Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images Since Lil Wayne went to jail earlier this year, his fans have been curious about how the star is holding up. Artists who have kept in touch with Weezy — like Tyga , Nicki Minaj and Fat Joe — have given updates about the star’s bid, and roughly midway through his sentence, Wayne has written another letter to his fans, opening up about his time in Rikers. In the letter, posted Tuesday (July 13) on his website, WeezyThanxYou.com , Wayne said he’s “counting the days and still smiling” and gives up details about his daily routine. “I wake up around 11AM. Have some coffee. Call my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail. Have lunch. Back on the phone. Read a book or write some thoughts down. Have dinner. Phone. Pushups. Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the bible, then sleep. That’s my day,” Weezy wrote. The routine reflects a level of normalcy that experts predicted the star would experience in jail. The superstar MC also opened up about the new lyrics he’s been penning in the pen, writing, “There’s no word that I can think of that properly defines them. Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair.” In addition, Weezy said the outpouring of support he’s received while in lockup has prompted him to pay closer attention to his words. “I never imagined that I could have such an impact on people’s lives. Because of this, I vow to be a bit more careful of what I say,” Wayne wrote. Wayne also revealed that he’s keeping up with the pace of music, writing, “I listen to the radio sometimes, emphasis on sometimes, and I hear the new music. I like some.” He might not be into all the latest radio hits, but Weezy did show love to his Young Money artists. “I applaud my Young Money family for what they’re doing. As I’m not surprised. This is what we’re supposed to do. Congrats to Drake and Nicki for all their recent success. Those 2 are going to have me retiring early.” The megastar rapper closed the letter by sending detailed messages to dozens of individual fans. The star wrote to one fan (who’s presumably a fan of both Miley Cyrus and Weezy), “Me and Miley? Different, but cool. Enjoy Utah,” and to another, “Thanx for supporting me in the U.K.. Say hi to Lexie for me.” To those he wasn’t able to shout out by name, the artist ended the letter with a simple message: “I thank my fans for appreciating me the way you do.” Are you surprised by Wayne’s daily routine in prison? Edward Norton Responds to Firing

To the credit of Edward Norton, he’s taking the high road. Recently let go from The Avengers , and blasted by the movie studio for his lack of “creativity and collaborative spirit,” the actor has posted the following message on his Facebook account. In it, he expresses gratitude to his fans: “As most of you know, I don’t like to talk much about the business of making movies because it means a lot to me to protect the audience’s fullest enjoyment of the “magic” that films can have. But I am so appreciative of the outpouring of support from fans of the Hulk and the Avengers that I feel it would be rude not to respond. So here goes: It seems it won’t work out for me to continue playing Bruce Banner for Marvel in The Avengers.” “I sincerely hoped it could happen and be great for everyone, but it hasn’t turned out as we all hoped. I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad. But I am very sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a part of the Hulk’s long and excellent journey. “And I really can’t thank the fans enough for how much enthusiasm you’ve sent my way about what Louis [Leterrier, The Incredible Hulk’s director] and I tried to do in our turn with the legend. It means a lot to me. I grew up with Banner and Hulk and have been a fan of every incarnation. I’m really proud, and very blessed, to have been one of them and will be thrilled to see him live on through other actors. Hulk is bigger than all of us, that’s why we love him, right?” With Norton out of the picture, attention now turns to which actor might take on this role in the 2012 movie. Rumored candidates include Joaquin Phoenix and Billy Crudup.
