‘I’mma do another album at the top of March,’ Roscoe Dash tells MTV News, weeks before his debut EP’s release. By Rob Markman Roscoe Dash Photo: MTV News Roscoe Dash ‘s debut EP isn’t even in stores yet, and the ATL hitmaker is already making plans for another project. “I’mma do another album at the top of March,” he told MTV News last week. Dash’s J.U.I.C.E. (Just Understand I Control Everything) is due December 20. The project will feature Roscoe’s current single, “Good Good Night,” as well as “Sidity,” an upbeat collaboration with Big Sean. Though he is classified in the rapper category, Dash is known to employ lots of melody into his songs. After breaking out in 2009 with his “All the Way Turnt Up” single, Dash has become one of the more popular hook men in rap. As a featured artist he has sung hooks for Big Sean and Kanye West (“Marvin & Chardonnay”), Waka Flocka Flame (“No Hands”) and DJ Drama (“Oh My”). On J.U.I.C.E., Roscoe continues to play to his strengths. “I Do” is a triumphant message to his haters, while “Into the Morning” with Wale is a kinetic party tune. On “Very First Time,” Roscoe slows things down a bit and pays homage to his R&B influences. The next project, tentatively titled J.U.I.C.E. Forever, will stand as an extension of the upcoming EP. “I just feel like it’s a one-two punch. It’s an easy combo. I feel like my fans deserve it,” Roscoe said. “They’ve been waiting a long time; they’ve been holding me down as far as the mixtapes go and I feel like every time I put out a mixtape it’s kinda like an album.” Are you looking forward to Roscoe Dash’s J.U.I.C.E. EP? Tell us in the comments!

Note to new rappers. Be careful when taking shots at a legend. ATL’s own Ludacris has fired back at Drake and Big Sean on a song called “Bada Boom” from his 1.21 Gigawatts mixtape. This whole episode started when Drizzy and Sean accused Luda of biting the “Supa Dupa” rhyme flow (or hashtag rap) from them. Although Luda doesn’t say any names, he does spit some lines that definitely seemed aimed at Sean and Drake: “Counterfeit rappers say I’m stealing their flows / But I can’t steal what you never made up b—h / Y’all some duplicate rap cloning n—as / I manufacture you h—s put on your makeup b—h,” Luda raps. Luda’s diss song stems from an interview Drake did on AllHipHop in which he said that Luda doesn’t know how to use the hashtag flow properly. “I don’t want to offend somebody, I hate that rappers picked that flow up,” Drake said in the 2010 interview. “I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it. [They go like] ‘It’s a parade! MACY’S!’,” Drake continued, referencing one of Luda’s lines from ‘My Chick Bad.’ In an MTV interview, Big Sean claims to have invented the hashtag flow: “With the super duper flow, I created that one-word rhyme style,” he said. In response, Luda raps on “Bada Boom”: “Do your research before you make a claim so bogus / That’s disrespecting pioneers in the game / F—k the fame but go ahead and get ya 5 minutes / Then you frontline cadets can report to your lieutenants (Sir, yes sir).” Ludacris also mentions on the track that “My Chick Bad” went platinum. When asked about the retaliatory track on Shade 45′s Sway In The Morning on Wednesday (Nov. 16), Ludacris simply replied, “I don’t start these things, I finish them.” We can’t wait to see if Drake or Big Sean responds! ‘Yeah, I’m gonna retire — from the industry,’ Waka says on ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Waka Flocka Flame Photo: MTV News Jay-Z famously said that he would retire after he dropped his debut album Reasonable Doubt way back in 1996, and we all saw how that worked out. With only one solo album under his belt, could Waka Flocka Flame do what Jigga couldn’t? Last month, the “Hard in Da Paint” rapper tweeted “This game 2 fake I [quit] rap after this year,” but when Sway asked Waka about his post-rap plans, he elaborated on the statement. “Nah, I am gonna retire. I’m gonna retire from the industry,” Waka said on last week’s “RapFix Live.” “I’m not gonna kick it in the industry no more. I’m gonna do what I wanna do, how I started like from the beginning. I’m gonna do exactly what I wanna do.” Flocka didn’t exactly say that he’d quit making music, however. Instead, the Atlanta-based rapper said he would go on to operate outside the music industry’s traditional avenues. “I don’t expect to win awards, I don’t expect to go to big venues. I’m gonna really help the youth — this is what I started doin’ it for, so I’m gonna finish doin’ it,” he said. “Yeah, I’m gonna retire — from the industry.” For now, though, fans can tide themselves over with Ferrari Boyz, Waka’s joint album with mentor Gucci Mane , which dropped last Tuesday. “Man, we just came to smash the game — point blank, period,” Waka told Sway when asked why the duo made Ferrari Boyz. “They chasin’ our sound, folks’ singles is on our sound, and we might as well just go ‘head and give it all to ’em.” Do you think Waka Flocka Flame can make it on his own terms?
