The Jodi Arias trial isn’t even over, but Lifetime is already planning a film about it. Accused of murdering ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander by shooting him, stabbing him 29 times and slitting his throat, Arias has claimed self-defense. Filled with explosive testimony, it’s a case that has gripped the nation as Jodi Arias , 32, faces possible death by lethal injection if found guilty of first-degree murder. Not surprisingly, the network renowned for ripped from the headlines movies is planning to cash in on the trial, which is still underway in Arizona. Arias follows in the Lifetime footsteps of the Craigslist Killer, Casey Anthony , Drew Peterson, Clark Rockefeller and other celebrity crime figures. After Bret Michaels’ meltdown and Dee Snider’s exit , Sunday’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars proved the most dramatic of the new season so far. Their task was to create a five-minute soap opera for Crystal Light, with La Toya Jackson and Stephen Baldwin becoming dueling project managers. Jackson clashed with Omarosa from the start, and tensions rose throughout the night, the point where MJ’s sister dealt a serious low blow, saying: “Omarosa is the most evil person I’ve ever met. She’s a no good, conniving scheming, cut-throat, probably pulled the cord on Michael Duncan Clarke.” Not at all called for, Toya. Or correct, for that matter. Jackson (and others) expressed their issues with Omarosa and how she was a distraction after finding out Duncan’s 911 tapes were being released. In any case, Baldwin’s team won the task, giving his charity the $50,000 prize … and Jackson surprisingly did not bring Omarosa back into the boardroom. It was Dennis Rodman and Brande Roderick on the chopping block with her, and since neither did anything wrong, La Toya was fired by The Donald. Was it the right call? Philadelphia Mayor Speaks Out Against NRA ‘Armed Guards In Schools’ Idea As the debate on gun control heats up, Philadephia mayor Michael Nutter has added his two cents. via Huffington Post Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter on Wednesday slammed the National Rifle Association’s proposal to put an armed guard in every school in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting, calling it a “completely dumbass idea.” “I guess, you know, out of last week’s bizarre press statement — it wasn’t a press conference — I guess Mr. [Wayne] LaPierre would then say firefighters need to have armed guards go with them,” Nutter said on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports.” I think it just shows that was a completely dumbass idea from the start with the announcement last week,” he said. Nutter was referring to the briefing held Friday by LaPierre, the NRA’s vice president, in which he called for armed guards at every school in the wake of the Newtown tragedy. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” LaPierre said. Tony Pieper and Blakeley Shea Jones of Bachelor Pad have called off their engagement. Just one month after Tony proposed to his partner on the reality hit, they’ve parted ways. “Unfortunately, things didn’t work out as we had hoped,” said single dad Tony, who presented Jones with a $100,000 Neil Lane diamond on the Bachelor Pad 3 finale. “No one is to blame. It just ended up being a lot harder than we expected. I wish her nothing but the absolute best. She deserves total happiness.” Blakeley Shea Jones and Tony Pieper seemed an unlikely pairing from the start, but you could tell they really liked each other; we’re sorry to hear the news. After news broke of the June 14 New York City brawl between Drake’s and Chris Brown’s entourages, Meek’s name swirled in reports. From the start, the Maybach Music MC insisted that he had nothing to do with the incident that left a number of people injured. When he appeared on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday (June 27), Meek continued to steer clear of the controversy. “I don’t really be having those controversies like that, man. It’s just that the more hotter you get, they start talkin’,” Mill said. Meek seemed to be taken aback by the amount of negative press he’s been receiving.
