Glee plans tribute to the Bieber

It was bound to happen so I might as well just get it over with. Glee is planning a Justin Bieber themed episode. There I said it. This might be the least surprising news I’ve heard all month. I have nothing against the kid, truly I don’t. Okay so yeah his hair bothers me, and the one song I’ve heard of his…”Baby…something”…grates on my last gay nerve in a way that makes blood pour from my eyes. But I’m almost 40 and soooooo not his demographic so the producers of Glee don’t care much what I think about it. What they do care about is the literal army of tween girls (and some boys) are going to have a proverbial cow over this, as well they should. And more power to them. I remember when I used to have cows…totally. Is it just me or does he look like Shaun Cassidy in that photo? Da doo run run run run da doo run run. This episode is rumored to be planned for February 15, just in time for Valentines Day and the release of Justin’s new movie Never Say Never , which hits a multiplex near you on February 11th. And never say never, I might actually enjoy it. Glee has been known to endear me to music that I didn’t like the first time around. So I’ll keep an open mind. And even if I don’t, I doubt the Bieber Army will lose much sleep over it. That having been said, my boy Puck is not going to be happy about this.

Now it looks like the young heartthrob will settle for admiring her hotness from behind a school desk:

People’s Choice Awards Spiced Up By Katy Perry, ‘Twilight,’ Johnny Depp

By Mawuse Ziegbe Katy Perry onstage at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards Photo: Mark Sullivan/WireImage People choosing things is always a good reason to throw a huge party, right? At least that’s what the folks behind the 2011 People’s Choice Awards thought, so they tricked out this year’s trophy handout with a super starry lineup of celebs and a few fun performances. Host Queen Latifah kicked off the festivities with a huge musical number, barreling down the aisles of Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater in a black suit, big jewels and casual kicks, flanked by scores of dancers thrusting their fists in the air to Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite.” The Queen even got the audience to join in the fun, as the sea of celebs waved their hands in the air as the hip-hop legend-turned-Hollywood player rhymed over the peppy track. The performance set the tone for a night big on lighthearted appearances from entertainment A-listers. Jennifer Aniston handed out Favorite Comedic Star to funnyman Adam Sandler, who was also joined by David Spade and Rob Schneider to accept Favorite Comedy Movie for “Grown Ups.” “Black Swan” starlet Mila Kunis made her first awards-show appearance since her breakup with longtime beau Macaulay Culkin, chatting about having someone to always wake up to and keep her smiling before giving out the award for Favorite Talk Show Host to Conan O’Brien. “When you’re up for an award and you’re up against Oprah, you don’t want to win. It makes Oprah very unhappy,” the ginger-haired comic quipped about besting the TV titan before thanking fans for making 2010 “one of the best years of his life,” despite his late-night drama with NBC. One of the big star-power moments of the evening went down when pop legend Elton John strolled out to a standing ovation to present the award for Favorite Country Artist. Country princess Taylor Swift appeared genuinely awestruck when Sir Elton handed over the trophy, but remembered to congratulate the music luminary on becoming a new dad. “This award coming from you is such a showing of love,” Swift told her fans of the accolade. The newly single singer also thanked her adoring public for being people she “can count on.” Selena Gomez & the Scene hit the stage to perform their track “A Year Without Rain.” Gomez helmed the ballad in a flowing printed gown with a voluminous train and dangly hoop earrings as fog crept along the stage. The group wrapped up the performance with a special surprise when they were presented with the award for Favorite Breakout Artist. Latifah showed off her sassy wit throughout the night, often copping to going off script, like when the audio from her mic got spotty and she jokingly blasted producers by proclaiming, “I’m the host! You can’t cut me off!” Awards-show host extraordinaire Neil Patrick Harris — who later shouted out his new twins in baby-talk when he nabbed Favorite TV Comedy Actor — gave her an A+ for handling the technical glitch when she checked in with him about her hosting skills. “Glee” star Jane Lynch made a plea to keep music education in schools when she took home the trophy for Favorite TV Comedy Actress and a buzz-cut-sporting Zac Efron won Favorite Movie Star Under 25. Screen veteran Johnny Depp also made a rare awards-show appearance when he showed up to receive the award for Favorite Movie Actor. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star received a standing ovation when he took the stage, greeting presenter Taylor Swift (his daughter is a fan) and thanking the fans for the “stupefying honor.” Curvy reality sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khlo

Taylor Swift’s Dating History: From Joe Jonas To Jake Gyllenhaal

We look back at the pop star’s boyfriends, some of them more famous than others. By Jocelyn Vena Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift in New York City last November Photo: INF Long before her famous boyfriends, Taylor Swift wrote a song about a guy named Drew and found mainstream success with her ballad “Teardrops on My Guitar.” Now when Swift writes a tune, while she may not confirm who she’s singing about, her muses are a lot more high-profile. And with the news of her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal , fans will be waiting to hear what she’ll sing about the Hollywood hunk in the future. Here’s a look back at Swift’s dating history. (Check out photos of Taylor Swift and her past loves.) Just as she was emerging on the pop scene, rumors began to surface the that blond chanteuse and Joe Jonas were an item. In the summer of 2008, the pair were spotted hanging out, and she danced around the issue when speaking to MTV News about the rumors. “For me, in dealing with things that people write, I try not to let it affect my life,” she said. “He’s an amazing guy, and anyone would be lucky to be dating him.” Months later, the pair broke up over the phone when Jonas allegedly left Swift for his “Lovebug” video co-star Camilla Belle. Swift wrote a song about it. “And I addressed it, and, you know, that’s a chapter in my life that’s closed now,” she said of the song, “Forever & Always.” Swift kept busy after her split from Jonas, but in late 2009, her “You Belong With Me” co-star Lucas Till admitted that the two had a bit of a fling. “We just really both liked each other,” he said. “[But] most relationships work out ’cause you get along and then you don’t, and then you make up and it’s passionate. And with us I really just liked her as a friend. That’s the only reason that didn’t work out.” By the time news came out that Swift had dated Till, she was already dating her “Valentine’s Day” co-star Taylor Lautner . They met in the summer of 2009 and while they never publicly addressed the relationship, they were spotted hanging out together until their breakup in December 2009. In October 2010, Swift admitted she’d always have a crush on him, saying, “Taylor Lautner. It’s always going to be Taylor.” In 2010, Swift had been rumored to be dating John Mayer, about whom she allegedly wrote her song “Dear John,” “Glee” star Cory Monteith, and even her “Mine” co-star Toby Hemingway, never owning up to any of the rumors. “I write in great detail about my personal life,” she explained of addressing rumors. “But I don’t talk about it.” But her brief romance with Jake Gyllenhaal in the fall of 2010 caused the most headlines. They reportedly began dating in October, and although they never spoke about one another publicly, they were photographed holding hands and being generally adorable until it was learned this week that the couple had split.
