Gym, tan, lawsuit? It’s another ugly legal situation for Mike Sorrentino. This time, the Jersey Shore star wants to make sure his GTL trademark is intact, which means suing a random ass guido-themed lifestyle company for ripping off The Situation’s brand. The lawsuit has been filed … but does it have merit? Don’t cry, Mike … it’s gonna be alright dawg . Sitch’s cease and desist letter to a website called MyGTLFuel (dot) com claims they’d better quit exploiting his trademark or legal action will be a-comin’. The site, which sells everything from energy shots to tanning lotion, hasn’t gone anywhere yet, as its owner, Dana Valentino, says there’s no trademark. According to Valentino, Sitch applied for the “GTL” trademark, but doesn’t legally own it … yet. He wants to settle this amicably but NOT close up shop. Mike is also involved in a legal dispute with Abercrombie .

New anti-bullying campaign for Spirit Day also draws casts of ‘Glee’ and ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ By Jocelyn Vena “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino Photo: Ian Spanier “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino is set to team up with GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to help celebrate Spirit Day , the organization announced on Thursday, October 13. The MTV reality star is just one of a number of A-list actors, athletes and other celebrities who have stepped in to join GLAAD on October 20 for their latest anti-bullying campaign, “Amplify Your Voice!” So, who else is lending a supportive voice to end the bullying that’s so frequently aimed at the LGBT community? “Glee” cheerleader Naya Rivera, the cast of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars,” and transgender celeb Chaz Bono, who’s currently competing on “Dancing With the Stars,” will all pitch in. Other participants include Mario Lopez and “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter. (The project was created with the help of the American Federation of Teachers and directs kids on how they can combat bullying in schools and beyond.) The campaign also features members of New York’s the Center, a Greenwich Village haven for LGBT youths to share their personal stories. “Millions of gay and transgender youth are made to feel like they don’t fit in,” Vinny says in a PSA for the campaign. “We’ve all been hurt by words before, so before you speak, think about how your words might affect someone else.” Projects like MTV’s A Thin Line campaign have also helped to increase awareness about bullying among teens. On Monday night, MTV premiered the original film “DISconnected,” which focused on issues in a world where technology controls personal lives. “I see the viciousness of people every day,” the “Shore” star said on the “DISconnected” after show , which he helped co-host. “I kind of want to be a soldier in the field, so to speak, and try to combat the negativity with a positive message. I want to help open people’s eyes up, like this movie does, to the negativity, to the negativity.” You can show your support by wearing purple on October 20, for starters, and visit the Spirit Day site for more information about the ongoing crisis of anti-gay bullying. MTV will also participate by changing the network’s on-air logo to a purple hue.

They might not get it the first time they listen to it. That’s why it’s called Pluto — it’s so far out of here, it’s out the box,” he told Mixtape Daily on the black carpet for the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, which air Tuesday. “So the first time you listen to it, the second time you might not get it, a year later you might have to go back and listen to it and be like, ‘Damn.’ You’ll finally get it.” The Zone 6 representative has been on a tear with his string of street-bred mixtapes. The Astronaut Kid established his sound on 1000, Dirty Sprite and True Story. On ‘DISconnected’ after show, Vinny Guadagnino talks online bullying: ‘I want to help open people’s eyes up … to the negativity.’ By Kara Warner Vinny Guadagnino Photo: MTV News If you haven’t already joined MTV’s anti-bullying movement via A Thin Line , you can connect with our latest awareness effort, the TV movie “DISconnected,” which premiered Monday. The film revolves around four technology-dependent characters who all endure digital drama and suffer the consequences. In addition to its star-studded premiere , MTV News’ SuChin Pak hosted an exclusive after-show discussion with psychologist Jen Hartstein, “It Gets Better” founder Dan Savage and “Jersey Shore” stud Vinny Guadagnino. “I see the viciousness of people every day,” Guadagnino said. “I kind of want to be a soldier in the field, so to speak, and try to combat the negativity with a positive message. I want to help open people’s eyes up, like this movie does, to the negativity.” The after show also featured in-depth discussions of sensitive subjects in social networking like sexting, cyber-bullying and online dating. Guadagnino had two poignant bits of advice to offer on the subject of online bullying and dating: “Don’t take things personally,” he said, adding that when forging new friendships and relationships in the digital space, tread with caution and trust your gut. “If she has like two friends on her Facebook page and she’s a supermodel, she’s probably not real,” he said. “If all her pictures are model pictures from Maxim, she’s probably not real.” Savage recommended an even more-direct approach: “Get away from the … computer,” he said. “Sometimes, you talk to kids who are being bullied online, and it doesn’t even occur to them that they can shut the computer and walk away from it. Host Jane Lynch plays Donatella Alberghetti Mangiana D’Borgia, a Jersey TV exec who ‘discovered’ the MTV reality stars. By Kara Warner Pauly D in a “Jersey Shore” sketch at the 2011 Emmys Photo: Fox Although we can generally expect the unexpected during awards shows, it’s safe to say that it was especially surprising to see the cast of “Jersey Shore” make an appearance at the 63rd annual Emmy Awards on Sunday night (September 18). Our favorite Seaside Heights crew popped up in a mock “state of TV news” story by Anderson Cooper. He introduced the segment, a spotlight on “prominent TV executive” Donatella Alberghetti Mangiana D’Borgia (Jane Lynch), as if it were a part of his show “Anderson Cooper 360,” and we learned the real story about how “Jersey Shore” came to be. “Thanks to me, now 50 percent of all television is set in Jersey,” Lynch as D’Borgia said, complete with a thick Jersey accent, with Cooper adding in voice over that D’Borgia is responsible for 114 different shows, one of them being “Jersey Shore,” for which she plucked “eight at-risk youths from obscurity and made them stars.” “I was already a DJ when I met her,” Pauly said. “At NPR.” “I found Vinny living in a walk-in freezer in a pizzeria,” D’Borgia revealed. “Now we get paid to drink!” Vinny chimed in with a smile. “Before I met Donatella, I was just Nicole, a Harvard undergrad,” Snooki revealed. “And now, I’m Snooki.” “She’s threatened to kill us numerous times,” Mike “The Situation” added over shots of Lynch’s character threatening the castmembers with violence. “She’s like a mother to me,” Pauly said. “Because she killed my mother.” The segment ended with footage of the crew play-fighting and D’Borgia expressing her undying love for her moneymakers. “Why do I do what I do?” Lynch as D’Borgia said to camera. “Because watching these kids is like Cirque Du Soleil. Last week, Jersey Shore focused on the aftermath of Mike getting his ass kicked by a wall, and on Snooki’s ongoing relationship issues with Jionni. Amazingly, it was Ron who helped both his co-stars work through their issues. Elsewhere, Pauly and Vinny introduced us to the glory that is FPC . Now that everything is back to normal (sort of), the gang reverted to vintage skanky, drunken, hilarious form at the (Italian) shore last night. As always, we break down all of the top Jersey Shore quotes and moments for you as we recap Thursday’s gripping installment, THG +/- style! The roommates/producers decide to take a weekend trip to visit the beaches in Riccione. How on earth did they ever get time off from “work”?? Minus 4 . “It looks like Hawaii, so it’s like an island, or maybe on a border of a continent, you know what I mean, so it’s like by ocean.” – Effing Snooki. Minus 11 . The guys met Mike’s Italian “twin.” Now THERE’S a situation! Plus 2 . At least he’s neck brace-free now. Although that was hilarious. Wash . The girls proceeded to get sloshed and learn how to say vagina in Italian. Plus 3 , because that body part was certainly on the minds of two of them. Snooki plowed into a bush. More foreshadowing for later. Plus 9 . She and Deena proceeded to break it down so hard on the dance floor that the latter’s panties fell down. Dudes, that can’t happen by mistake. Minus 5 . Pauly D got straight up swacked – when one’s swagger is jacked – by Ronnie, stealing his signature move of waking peeps up. No FPC, but we like it! Plus 6 . While off to put the G in GTL, Snooki REAR-ENDS A POLICE CAR, resulting in one officer carted off on a stretcher and two meatballs taken downtown. Minus 22 for her sheer ineptitude and for MTV somehow allowing her to drive, at all. If Snooki were ordered to be given a breathalyzer at random days and times during the week – the way pro athletes are randomly drug tested – how often would she be under the legal limit? We’d say rarely if ever. Plus 5 . “I don’t want to go in a cop car ever again.” – Snook. Odds of that? Slim. Minus 3 . EPISODE TOTAL: +21 . SEASON TOTAL: +128 .
