Unless you’ve tuned out the news entirely due to the events of the past nine months, you’re probably aware that O.J. Simpson was granted parole last week. Yes, the Juice will soon be loose after serving nine years in prison on robbery charges. A lengthy bid, to be sure, but O.J. got off pretty easy when you consider he totally allegedly murdered two people. Anyway, O.J. was sentenced to an astonishing 33 years, and some folks believed he’d never live to see his release date. But now, Simpson is soon to be a free man once again, and many who were once close to the former NFL star/probable double murderer are understandably a bit worried. Among the concerned parties are several members of the Kardashian clan. The family was once close with O.J. but the relationship was damaged irreparably by that whole “him almost certainly killing two people” thing. We learned earlier this week that Kris and Caitlyn Jenner are “terrified” by the news of O.J.’s impending release. And now it seems they may not be alone in their totally justified fear of a seriously scary dude. Radar Online has spoken with a former cellmate of Simpson’s named Vernon Nelson, and based on the ex-con’s claims, Kim Kardashian may want to double down on her security detail. It seems O.J. is quite displeased with Kim for comments she made on Keeping Up With the Kardashians implying that he’s guilty of the murders of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. “Simpson griped, ‘I always treated Kim with respect. I don’t know why she would dog me out, but I guess she will do anything to promote their reality show.’” Nelson wrote in an email interview with the site. The former inmate also claims that Simpson blasted Kim with “very powerful and serious” insults that “made the hairs on my arm stand up!” Ominously, when Nelson asked Simpson if he had a message for those on the outside who he felt had wronged him, the former football star seethed: “Tell them to expect me like they’re expecting Jesus to come back because I’m coming!” We’re no biblical scholars, but we’re pretty sure Jesus didn’t come back, like, to stab everyone. Thankfully, it’s unlikely that the 70-year-old Simpson would ever be able to get anywhere near the heavily-guarded Kim, but still. On May 26, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth tied the knot in Arkansas, completing the transition from side hugs to married life. Much has been written about this watershed moment for Duggar Nation, but nothing compares to what Austin himself wrote that day. Before Austin and Joy-Anna’s wedding , which took place at Cross Church in Rogers, Ark., penned a sweet love letter to his bride-to-be. Whatever you think of the Duggars and their in-laws, it is touching beyond words, and may inspire you to write a similar one yourself. “My dearest love,” Austin Marytn Forsyth began in his handwritten letter, posted to the TLC website ahead of tomorrow’s season premiere. “The very thought of getting to be your husband is very humbling and a great honor. You are truly a gift from our Heavenly Father.” “The way we have been brought together is very evident that we serve a God who cares so much for us,” the would-be groom continued. “I try to imagine God’s unmerited favor, the best example I know is how He has blessed me with you! You are such a woman of character. “The heart you have for Him, His word, and His people has challenged me time and time again to love Him and you all the more.” “Getting to spend time with you is my favorite thing,” he added. “You are fun, enthusiastic, adventurous, and always willing to try new things.” “I love you with all my heart and can’t wait to grow deeper in love with you!” Austin said, putting an official end to Joy-Anna’s cold feet . Their lifestyle choices, religious believes and sheer number of things banned by the Duggar family have been debated at length. From old-fashioned patriarchal conventions and forced religious rituals to their aggressive procreation, many aspects are controversial. But this? This is just touching. Hopefully it becomes a tradition in and of itself to pen letters like this, because it’s something anyone – regardless of religion – would cherish. Perhaps Joe will take note. The next member and soon-to-be members of this famous family to be walking down the aisle are Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell . He actually popped the question at his sister’s reception that same day ( Joe was slammed for this , but Joy-Anna gave him her blessing). “We are super excited. Can you believe it's been eight months now since Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris? Two men forced their way into her apartment, tied her up, shoved a gun in her face, and stole just so, so much jewelry. The event was extremely traumatizing for her , and understandably so — it sounds absolutely terrifying. But, as she reveals in a new sneak peek for tonight's season finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she's so traumatized that she may never go back to Paris. Ever. In the clip, Kim sits down for a dinner in New York with friends La La Anthony, Jonathan Cheban, and Simon Huck. After taking out her “grills” and her fake lip ring, she explains that she has to go to court the next day to testify again . “I think they're going to ask me to, like, say the whole thing again, like what happened,” she says. La La asks what it's like for her to go through the story again and again, if it's hard every time or if it's easier at this point. “I think I've said it a lot,” Kim answers, “and I've, like, relived it so much in therapy that I'll be OK.” “I mean, I don't know, if they start asking me certain questions, maybe it'll trigger something and I'll get emotional , but it's nothing that I can't get through.” Simon asks her if she's going to go back to Paris, but she says that she's not planning on going anytime soon. He suggest she might go back in “a couple years,” but she says it'll be more like “five, six, seven, ten years.” “I don't want to go anytime soon,” she insists when her friends seem shocked. “North has pajamas with the Eiffel Tower all over it,” she says, “and she goes 'Mommy, you like to go to Paris, right?'” “And I was like 'yeah,' she was like 'Are you gonna take me?' And I was like 'You've been there before. Khloe Kardashian’s legal team sent a cease and desist letter to a small, independent designer, instructing her to stop accusing Khloe of stealing her work. It looks like that’s blown up in Khloe’s face. Majorly. If there’s one thing that truly unites the Kardashian family, it’s a fondness for cultural appropriation. From cornrows to huge lips to big butt culture to … everything, it seems that the Kardashians scarcely have to see an element of black culture before they decide to make it their own. But it seems that the appropriation isn’t limited to Kylie Jenner’s ever-changing body , Designer Destiney Bleu, after repeatedly calling out Khloe and accusing her of ripping off her designs. She did this so much that Khloe’s legal team sent a nasty cease-and-desist order. Of course, most small-time designers would be quaking in their boots when threatened with a rich person’s lawsuit. Even if you’re in the right, just letting a lawsuit drag out in court can completely exhaust someone’s finances. You can win the case but have your life ruined. Destiney has majorly clapped back, and no matter which of them you believe about the propietary issues, these words are absolutely worth reading. We wonder if Khloe is regretting any of that now? Though the response letter comes from Destiney’s legal representative, it seems pretty clear that Destiney’s words are involved. Because the letter is decidedly not limited to legal jargon. “It is not illegal for Khloe to copy Destiney’s designs — it is just tacky, disrespectful, and in bad taste,” says Destiney’s scathing response letter , as reported by TooFab . “There is also something deeply uncomfortable about someone with Khloe’s wealth and power appropriating designs and fashion directly from a black woman with a small business without crediting her, making cheap knockoffs, and then attempting to threaten her into silence.” Hold on a moment, we need to print out that line and frame it and hang it on our wall. But the letter continues. “You should be ashamed.” It’s clear that we’re all meant to know exactly what Khloe’s lawyers are demanding from Destiney. “You demand that Destiney ‘cease and desist’ her ‘false statements,’ ‘make an appropriate corrective statement,’ and ‘that [Destiney’s] trolls stop attacking [Khloe Kardashian’s] social media channels.'” How exactly is Destiney expected to stop other people from independently tweeting at Khloe? With magic? Sorry, Khloe’s legal team, but even if you happen to think that all black people look alike, Destiney isn’t Azealia Banks . “However, your attempt to censor Destiney with these meritless threats will have the opposite of its intended effect. Destiney will not surrender to your bullying.” That lawyer’s absolutely right about the opposite effect business, because if Khloe had never tried to shut down Destiney’s statements, a lot of people might never have heard about this. And, by the way, Destiney’s also happy to provide evidence of correspondences she had, which she says prove that Khloe had access to Destiney’s samples … before going on to copy them. How sad must it be to be rich and famous but still feel the need to pluck ideas from others and claim them as your own? Caitlyn Jenner’s had her share of tensions with the rest of the Kardashian clan. A little of that was just the normal emotions in life that happens when a couple splits and a transgender parent transitions. Unfortunately, this is more than that. Caitlyn’s controversial memoir is burning some bridges. Caitlyn’s memoir, The Secrets of My Life , contains some passages that are very critical of the Kardashians in general. And of Kris Jenner, Caitlyn’s ex-wife, in particular. We’ve already seen Kendall Jenner react to Caitlyn’s book . She was not happy and agreed with Kris that Caitlyn’s words weren’t true. We’ve also already seen Kim Kardashian angry at Caitlyn for dissing her mother and their entire family. But this is different. Kim gets very defensive of her entire family, but especially of Kris. On Sunday’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians , Kim didn’t mince words. “Mom’s obviously upset about it,” Kim says to Caitlyn. “So … if those are your feelings those are your feelings, but mom feels a certain way about you and she has the right.” She tells Caitlyn on no uncertain terms that there will be consequences if Kim feels that she’s done a smear job on her mother. “I’m going to read it and tell you honestly … Talk bad about my mom, I come for you.” Caitlyn tries to defend herself, saying that she had a story to tell and that was it. But Kim isn’t having it. “If you turn on my mom and you continue to bash us, I can’t — even for the sake of my sisters — spend time with someone who doesn’t care about my mother.” Kim really sounds like she’s serious about cutting ties. The Kardashians like to say that family loyalty is a quintessentially Kardashian quality, and maybe that’s so, but Kim’s “Like, enough already,” sounds pretty consummately Kardashian to us. We think that the Kardashians, like most people, were expecting Caitlyn’s memoir to be, you know, way more about being a woman who was designated as a male at birth, who was perceived as a man and then became a famous athlete and reality star. Surely being forced to live a lie by a wildly bigoted society is enough of a story to fill any book, right? A few anecdotes about weird feelings or dysphoria — though not all trans people experience dysphoria — experienced during her marriages would have sufficed, right? Not, like, a biting criticism of her family. The Kardashians were, for the most part, very supportive of Caitlyn as she transitioned. We’d accept nothing less than total support, of course, but you’d think that Caitlyn would be a little less vicious towards them. Caitlyn’s no stranger to controversy. A lifelong conservative, Caitlyn didn’t initially seem supportive of marriage equality — an odd stance for a world-famous member of the LGBT community. And then there were her political comments during the 2016 election campaigns. Mere months after people began to honor her for being a visible, vocal representation of trans folks, for provoking conversations and promoting awareness, the 2016 campaigns kicked into gear. Honestly, Caitlyn’s timing in coming out was really unfortunate in ways that she couldn’t quite foresee. It’s not super uncommong for LGBT folks from uber-conservative backgrounds to struggle with trying to fit in as much as possible with their family’s values. There’s something powerful about feeling accepted by the people who’d otherwise reject you. Maybe, if she’d come out in, like, 2013, she could have worked through all of that and not had such nice things to say about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump in 2016. That alienated a lot of her supporters. We do have to say, though, that it is strangely nice to see people blast Caitlyn for being shady without misgendering her. Comments sections — which we all know to avoid but too often cannot resist browsing — on articles about her too often include people misgendering her, or using her deadname. That’s never acceptable. Misgendering and other forms of transphobic language can never just be used against one person — they’re weapons against the trans community as a whole. Just like slurs and other forms of bigotry. The Kardashians, the people who have the most reason to be personally distressed by her, can hold conversations about her and outright threaten her without misgendering her. Maybe, one day, commenters will rise to the level of decency set by the Kardashians. Can we possibly set that bar any lower? Maybe this was all a misjudged attempt at boosting book sales. A tell-all book on the Kardashians sounds like it would normally do pretty well. It’s just not what people expected. But, even with all of the publicity that the book’s getting as they keep mentioning it on Keeping Up With The Kardashians , this doesn’t sound worth the cost. If any of this conflict is real, and it sounds like it, Caitlyn could be permanently alienating the entire family. Even if they work through it, some things might never be the same. If you follow the life and “career” of Scott Disick closely, you’re probably aware that the Lord’s got a lot on his plate these days. Between hooking up with random famous teens in an effort to make Kourtney Kardashian jealous and getting blackout hammered on a nightly basis, it’s amazing that Scott has time for … Well, he doesn’t work or see his kids with any regularity, so we guess it’s actually not so surprising that he’s able to accommodate a 24-hour party lifestyle. Anyway, the campaign to win Kourtney back through bad behavior doesn’t appear to be working, but Scott has succeeded in capturing his ex’s attention. It seems the entire Kard clan is deeply worried about Scott these days, seemingly for good reason. Sources say the family believes Disick is drinking himself to death , and they fear that if they don’t act soon, it could be too late. “Scott has gone off the deep end again,” an insider tells Entertainment Tonight, noting that Scott has been partying non-stop for over two weeks. “This is something that Scott has struggled with for years, and something Kourtney has dealt with since she has known Scott,” the source explains. “When Scott starts partying, he can’t stop. There is no middle ground for Scott — it’s go all in or none at all. This is how he has always been.” For obvious reasons, Kourtney is keeping her kids from Scott until he sobers up, but apparently, that tactic might be making the situation more perilous. The insider claims that Scott is feeling alienated from his family, which has caused him to descend deeper into alcoholism and generally reckless behavior. “[Disick] goes into the dark, depressed stages,” the source says, in which he “turns to partying for help.” But out of necessity, Kourtney’s number one concern remains the safety and well-being of her kids: “Kourtney’s first priority is to protect her kids, and that’s what she’ll do,” says the insider. “Kourtney has had enough and does not want him around the kids until he can figure his own problems out.” The source notes that the situation is more dire than ever, not only because the Kardashians are concerned that this bender could be Scott’s last, but also because his kids are reaching the age where they know that something is amiss. “The kids are getting older, especially Mason, where they know that something is wrong,” says the source. “She has been through this so many times before and does love him; he’s the father of her three children,” the source shares. “She’s worried this won’t ever stop and hopes he gets the help he needs.” In the past, Kourtney and her family have been able to coax Disick into rehab , and they’re reportedly hoping they’ll be able to do so again. Losing a sibling is one of the hardest experiences that there can be. Many fans reacted to Chris Cornell’s tragic death without even thinking of what his brother was going through. It turns out that his brother, Peter Cornell, was at first thinking of himself and other family members — before thinking of how fans were grieving. He shared a deeply emotional Facebook post for his late brother’s fans, along with some photographs that really hit home. “It’s been difficult to put words together. My heart is broken. Chris was always just my brother,” Peter wrote. No matter how famous someone is, to family, they always are and always will be just family. “Sometimes we only needed to just be in the same room and just be present. That was enough,” the grieving brother added. And that’s a relatable sentiment, but what he shared next — his deep empathy for his brother’s fans and their loss — was especially powerful: “It wasn’t until this week, it really hit me how he belonged to the world. That he is an icon and a legend. That being said, I am so sorry to YOU for your loss.” Peter also shared a pair of photos, depicting the first and last times that he and his brother were together. Pictures are powerful, and this is a heavy subject. Not everyone has photos from beginning to end like this. Peter went on to talk about how artists impact more people’s lives than they could ever meet. “Artists, actors, musicians. We rely on these people to lift us up. To inspire us and distract us in times of trouble,” he wrote. And he ties that right back into talking specifically about Chris: “Chris protected us when we needed him to. His one of a kind-ness surrounded us like a suit of armor. He was a warrior and a wizard. A howling wolf and a trusted mentor.” That’s a really beautiful description. Most people are, understandably, struggling even to string words together after a loss like this. Questions regarding Chris Cornell’s cause of death have been controversial to say the least, but Peter didn’t really touch on that. Instead, he spoke about his brother’s life. “My brother gave freely of his gifts and it was never a struggle. He kept himself from the saturation of celebrity in such a humble way.” Celebrity status is okay, but it’s always impressive when people never seem absorbed or changed by their fame. And who would know better than his brother? “The power and anger and passion of my brother’s music was always genuine, original, and legitimate.” You don’t need a technical understanding of music to understand that. “He was the powerful, sensitive, fragile, angry, mystical creature that will exist forever in his body of work. And he did it for ALL of us.” But, as much as he’s processed, he’s still working his way through it. And he will be for a long time to come. “I will never wrap my head around his passing. I’ve been in shock since I heard the news. I can’t and won’t let him go,” Peter concluded. That’s understandable and, for too many people, deeply relatable.
