Dancing With the Stars Final 4 Poll: Who Will Win?

The Dancing With the Stars field is down to four. After last week’s predictable elimination of Nancy Grace , voters will have a tougher decision tonight. Among the remaining four hopefuls, who stands the best chance of victory? Let’s take a look at who’s left standing, then put it to a vote … Hope Solo has shown improvement throughout the season, culminating in her best effort of the season last week. Still an underdog to make the finals. Rob Kardashian is very well-liked and better on the floor than most people give him credit for. Long-shot to win it all, even money to survive this week. Ricki Lake. After two straight weeks at the top, she took a step back last week. It would still be a surprise if she didn’t advance, but she’s the clear #2. J.R. Martinez was nothing short of perfect last week. Having already been a clear contender all season, he’s the obvious favorite as it stands right now. Well? Who do you think will win Dancing With the Stars?

Clint Eastwood Calls ‘J. Edgar’ An Intriguing ‘Portrait’

Dustin Lance Black tells MTV News he wrote the Leonardo DiCaprio-starring drama for ‘this generation’ as a cautionary tale. By Kara Warner Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts in “J. Edgar” Photo: Warner Bros Long before its release, “J. Edgar” had movie fans excited for its opening on Friday (November 11). Why? Because it features the bona fide box-office draw of star Leonardo DiCaprio, rising star Armie Hammer and a living Hollywood legend in director Clint Eastwood. Not only that, but the film is based on the creation and formation of the FBI, which was founded by J. Edgar Hoover. That subject might not be as intriguing to a young audience as something like “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,” but the parties closest to the project want you to know that there is more to this story than drama and history. “A portrait of a very important man in American history,” Eastwood told MTV News at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art “Art + Film” Gala when asked what younger audiences should expect from the film. “And [they can] get an idea of him if they don’t know about him. Hopefully, they know something about that and the history that surrounded him because he reigned at a very important era, starting with the Bolshevik invasion from within the [1920s],” he said. Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black added that the idea of making the story relevant to younger generations was front of mind for him throughout the writing process. “I wanted to write it for this generation. There’s a lot you can talk about with J. Edgar Hoover, but I chose the things I thought a young generation could identify with,” Black explained. “We’re not going to focus on McCarthy, we’re going to focus on Martin Luther King. We’re going to focus on things that [Hoover] did that were heinous, that these kids will probably be surprised by and also a lot of the great things he did that we’ve all forgotten about. “There’s some gun-shooting and explosions and all that sort of stuff that I hope young people like,” he continued. “But for the most part, it’s a cautionary tale saying, ‘Hey, young people, here was a man that made his life all about being famous and it turned him into a monster.’ So fame is great, but if you don’t put love first, you might be a problem.” Check out everything we’ve got on ” J. Edgar.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Related Videos J. Edgar Talk Nerdy To Me

Nicki Minaj, David Guetta To Open American Music Awards

Rapper and French DJ have collaborated on ‘Where Them Girls At?’ By Jocelyn Vena Nicki Minaj Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Nicki Minaj is up for two American Music Awards , and she will host the A-list bash with Pitbull . Now comes word that the colorful MC will also take the stage. She’s set to kick off the show with David Guetta . The Hollywood Reporter reports that the duo who recorded the track “Where Them Girls At?” for Guetta’s album Nothing but the Beat will start the party that will also include performances by Chris Brown, Katy Perry, LMFAO , Marc Anthony, Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Pitbull and Maroon 5. Guetta and Minaj began their love affair when they hit the studio to record the club track. When MTV News spoke to Guetta , the French DJ had only the nicest things to say about the fiery rapper. “It was an amazing start working together because I really wanted to work some more with her. I’m a really huge fan. To be honest, it’s very rare that I call artists — most of the time they call me. I’ve been chasing her for like a year because I really wanted to work with her,” Guetta confessed. Minaj has made it clear that the love goes both ways. “He really is a master — a master at his craft,” Minaj said earlier this year. “He’s got it down pat. For me to link up with him, I’m just honored that he was reaching out. When I met him, I liked him instantly. He’s sweet, he’s humble, he’s funny, and he’s just a person you want to be around.” To see what these two have up their sleeves at the show, check out the AMAs when they are broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC. The show will be preceded by a one-hour red-carpet special at 7 p.m. Related Artists Nicki Minaj David Guetta

Kelly Clarkson Recalls ‘American Idol’ Reservations

‘We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,’ Clarkson tells MTV News of the night she won ‘Idol.’ By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since Kelly Clarkson was crowned the first winner of “American Idol.” Since then, she has become one of the most successful “Idol” alums ever, releasing five albums (her latest, Stronger, landed the #2 spot on the Billboard albums chart ), winning two Grammy Awards and solidifying herself as a pop diva who belts out powerful breakup anthems . Yet, looking back on that night that America voted her the winner, Clarkson recalls her hesitation in becoming the pop star she always imagined herself to be. “Honestly, even the night I won, I remember Justin [Guarini] and I talking. We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,” Clarkson revealed to MTV News. “But I just really loved singing, and at the end of the day, it’s worth it.” Clarkson has made the most of her time since that night in 2002, but has this journey been exactly how she pictured it? “Actually, this is exactly what I thought it was gonna be like,” Clarkson said. “I never was that kid that was, like, smoke and mirrors. I knew it was going to be hard work, and I knew there’d be a lot of sacrifice.” Even with all her successes over the years, there have been some low points for Clarkson as well. Prior to the release of her third album, My December, it was publicly known she was at odds with her label over the album. But Clarkson said, if given the opportunity, she wouldn’t change anything about that time in her life or her career. “Not even the crappy stuff,” she said. “Because it all builds your character. It molds you, and you go through it for a reason. No, I wouldn’t change anything.” Now, in between her busy work schedule, the “Mr. Know It All” singer still finds time to watch the show that started it all, but she has yet to watch former “Idol” judge Simon Cowell’s new show, “X Factor.” “I watch all of them,” Clarkson said. “I haven’t seen [‘X Factor’] because I’ve been out of the country, but I watch ‘The Voice,’ I watch ‘American Idol’ — I watch all of it.” What do you think of Kelly Clarkson’s latest album? Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Recalls Roof Diving, On ‘When I Was 17’

‘It’s a miracle that we’re still here,’ he says on latest episode, airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT on MTV. By Lauren Kearney Mark Hoppus appears on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV On the next episode of “When I Was 17,” Mark Hoppus, bassist for blink-182 and host of Fuse’s “Hoppus on Music,” sheds light on what his life was like before he was asking “What’s my age again?” Surprisingly (except not at all), he was as out of control back then as he is now, as he reveals on the episode, airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT. “We were really smart as high-schoolers. We had a friend, his name was Dave, he had a two-story house, and in the backyard of his house was a pool. And his parents would leave for days at a time, so of course, Dave’s a responsible guy, he wouldn’t let anything bad happen. So we would jump off a second-story roof into the pool,” admitted Hoppus, who just finished up on the Honda Civic Tour alongside My Chemical Romance . “We called it Acapulco cliff diving.” “It was definitely high enough so that if you jumped in, you had to turn your body as soon as possible so that you didn’t eat your knees,” he added. While at first it started off safe — well, sort of — Acapulco cliff diving soon became more and more competitive as time went on. “At first I think it was cannonballs and feet first, and then we’d one-up each other and by the end, people were doing flips. I definitely dove headfirst into this pool. It’s a miracle that we’re still here.” And a miracle it is, Mark. Because we can’t imagine what life would have been like without some Blink-182. Don’t miss this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” featuring Mark Hoppus, Sean Kingston and Tiffani Thiessen, at 11 a.m. Saturday on MTV. Robyn Says ‘No Tricks,’ Just Treats At O Music Awards

Super Swede will headline the O Music Awards 2, on Halloween at 11:30 on MTV, MTV.com and VH1.com. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Robyn Photo: MTV News She’s opened for Katy Perry , shared the VMA stage with deadmau5 and absolutely killed it at club shows, but Swedish pop-queen Robyn has never headlined an awards show (mostly because, who has?). That will all change on Monday night, when she takes the stage at the O Music Awards 2 in Los Angeles to close out the show. And just how is she preparing? Well, much in the same way she prepares for all of her gigs: with a maximum focus on making people move. “I’m planning to play with my band as usual, no tricks, just like what we always do, which is usually just try to make people dance and have a good time,” Robyn told MTV News. “I think it’s gonna work this time. I’m gonna perform as many songs as I can. We’ll see what we’ll be able to fit in, but I’ve been told I get to do as many songs as I want to, so I’m gonna try and fit as much as I can. Maybe not a full show, but a little more than you usually get at an awards show.” Fans can catch Robyn’s set — and a special tribute to late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs , courtesy of the Flaming Lips — beginning at 11:30 on Monday night, when the O Music Awards 2 are broadcast on MTV. The rest of the event will unfold across a number of the Viacom Music Group’s websites, including MTV.com , VH1.com , CMT.com , LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com . Additional presenters and performers include Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, Alabama Shakes, Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator, Travie McCoy, Midi Mafia and DJ Diamond Kuts. Oh, and just in case you weren’t aware, Monday also happens to be Halloween, so, in addition to blowing folks away with her headlining set, Robyn is also toying with the idea of getting in the spooky spirit. Which means that there’s a very good chance you might get to see her rock not only the stage, but a costume, too. “Maybe I should,” she smiled. “I dressed up as Robin, you know, ‘Batman and Robin’ at this costume festival once in Texas, I think it was in Texas. [No,] Comic-Con. At San Diego’s Comic-Con, so I may have to do something like that. I’ll think about it.” The O Music Awards 2 will unfold on Halloween on OMusicAwards.com , as well as MTV.com , VH1.com , CMT.com , LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com . Fans can vote for their favorites and get updates at OMusicAwards.com. Related Artists Robyn
