The troubled rapper’s attorney says their side is putting together a seven-figure bail package that will give 69 homebound freedom until his trial. TMZ reports : The rapper’s lawyer, Lance Lazarro, tells TMZ … he’s putting a bail package together for the rapper in hopes of getting him sprung from the federal prison facility where he’s being held, so he can enjoy some freedom until his trial begins in September. We’re told the plan is to ask the court to set 69’s bail at $1.5 million, and Lazarro will also make the case that Tekashi’s not a danger to the community … nor is he a flight risk. 6ix9ine’s lawyer says he wants to file the motion before his next scheduled court appearance in late January. If the judge rules in his favor and grants bail, the rapper can await trial from the comfort of his own home once he posts the $1.5 mil. P was in Miami ready to celebrate his born day and took to Instagram to thank his over 325,000 followers for wishing him well. He also noted that: “My birthday started off a little slow which is why I haven’t been posting the devil was trying to work, but I told his ass to go back to hell because I got some celebrating to do.” Just a few hours later Miami police spotted P weaving in and out of traffic in an SUV going over 100 MPH. Once officers pulled him over they say he reeked of alcohol and blew twice the legal limit once back at the station. Cops say that during booking P strangely asked them if he could call Shaq and Flo Rida. Not sure why exactly. Sounds like P will spend his birthday in the bing. Happy 34th, sir.
After overcoming adversity and even racist death threats, Ashley and Jay weren’t undone by any outside force. Instead, everything went to crap when Jay cheated on Ashley. On Thursday, Jay tried to do damage control with 90 Day Fiance fans. It didn’t really work the way he’d hoped. “I found out that Jay made an account and was talking to multiple women, trying to meet with them” Ashley tearfully revealed on 90 Day Fiance . “So I looked at Jay,” Ashley says in another scene. “And I was like, ‘Do you have a Tinder?'” “And I said, ‘she’s screenshotting them,'” Ashley narrates of her confrontation with her former fiance. “I said to him, ‘she’ sending me the messages right now,'” Ashley continues. “So either you admit to it, or you are out on your f–kin ass.” “And that,” Ashley says. “Is when he admitted to everything. And I was like, ‘we’re done.'” Even more alarmingly, he punched a hole in the wall — which should usually be a relationship-ender all by itself. Jay took to social media to do his level best to put a positive spin on him ruining his own relationship with cheating. “It happened and it is what it is,” Jay writes in his Instagram Stories. “I cannot go back in time and change the past,” he laments, as if his cheating were some cruel twist of fate. “I can only make a brighter future,” he notes. Jay then writes: “And make up for whosoever heart I have broken.” He seems to be acting like what he has done is some kind of mystery. Jay then posted a series of “wedding” photos that he and Ashley Martson took in Jamaica. The two considered it more of a commitment ceremony, because their legal wedding was to take place in the United States. Though these photos have since been deleted by Jay (along with most of what was on his Instagram), we have them for you here. We also have his very curious caption that accompanied those photos. As he explains, he and Ashley were already ceremonially married when he decided to cheat on her. Jay is a difficult man to understand. “We had a non-legal ceremony in 2017 for my family,” Jay reveals in his caption. “Since they couldn’t make it to the US.” “Those,” he explains. “Were the photos floating around.” Many had assumed that Jay and Ashley got married long before the season, because their wedding photos had leaked. Now, those images are in context. “I was able to fly to Mexico after for ten days,” Jay continues. “Where Ashley and I celebrated.” “We didn’t get our dream wedding in America,” he acknowledges. “But before I came to the US,” he writes. “I did get a beautiful Jamaican ceremony.” Jay says: “I know things aren’t good between Ashley and I.” “But,” he continues. “These photos are memories I never want to forget.” “And memories I wanted to [share] with all of you,” he concludes. A couple of hours later, and the photos simply vanished from Instagram. Maybe Jay thought better of his words. Maybe he didn’t appreciate what 90 Day Fiance fans had to say about him acting like their split was an act of fate. Or maybe Ashley didn’t want to see pics of her in a wedding dress plastered all over the internet and told Jay as much. We don’t know, but we’re interested to know more. What really has us curious is this: how in the world did they keep this a secret for so many months? Though Eric Rosenbrook and Leida Margaretha quit 90 Day Fiance after facing backlash and even death threats, their story continues. Eric and his middle daughter, Tasha, had a falling out over Leida so severe that Eric went to the police. Now we learn that, thanks to how Leida treats his youngest daughter, he might no longer be allowed to see her. RadarOnline reports that Eric went so far as to file a harassment report with the police against his own teenage daughter. Why? Because he didn’t like the things that she was saying on social media. “Eric advised that Nataszia has been posting things on her social media accounts,” a police officer noted in his report. The two of them told the officer that Tasha was “trying to damage Eric and Leida’s reputation.” Eric and Leida have done a find job of that on their own on 90 Day Fiance . They don’t need any help. 90 Day Fiance viewers all know his daughter as Tasha. Honestly, if your parents name you Nataszia and you are not a Russian dragon, you’re entitled to be on the outs with them as an adult. The officer’s notes also reveal: “Eric stated that he believes this is defamation of character.” He apparently believed that this was so serious that he contacted the actual police about his daughter’s social media posts. Eric and Leida showed the officer Tasha’s social media posts, but he was less than impressed by the evidence. “Nataszia does mention only Leida in one post,” the officer notes. “But there is no last name.” “The post also states that someone [Leida] had her Instagram account deleted for harassment and bullying,” the officer adds. The officer writes: “I was advised that was because Leida, in the past did post things in response to Nataszia’s post.” “And,” the officer points out. “That is no longer the case.” While Tasha revealed that Eric was previously homeless and living in his car and also defended herself against his claims, Eric didn’t have much of a case. The officer advised Eric that he would be “just as guilty as Nataszia” because of the things that he had claimed about her. There was also the matter of Tasha’s freedom of speech. If Eric feels that she is committing libel or slander, he could take her to court over it — civil court. With some very specific exceptions, you cannot press criminal charges against people for saying unflattering things on social media. The next day, on December 6, Tasha and her mother, Tania, contacted the police. (We don’t think that the timing was suspect, but rather that they wanted to make sure that law enforcement saw Tasha’s side) “All of the posts were of similar nature to what Eric and Leida informed me that Nataszia was doing to them,” the officer’s report reads. “Nataszia advised that this has been bothering her mentally,” the police note. “And it sheds a negative image of her to her ‘fans.’” Tasha is a cosplay enthusiast and, of course, attracted additional fans after her appearances on 90 Day Fiance . “Nataszia requested that I ask Eric and Leida to quit posting negative stuff about her,” the report says. The officer gave Tasha and Tania the same reminder: both parties have said unkind things. Also, Eric and Leida also have the legal right to speak their minds, with certain very speciic exceptions. If Tasha and Tania wanted to find the money to take them to court, that would be a civil matter. However, Tania did bring up another subject is much more important than anything that anyone in the family has written on social media. Tania asked police about her younger daughter, who is still a minor. “She stated there are no court documents on custody,” the officer’s report reveals. “And,” the report says, Tania informed police “that there is an arrangement with Eric as far as placement with the other child verbally.” “Tania said that her other child does not want to go stay with Eric anymore,” the report reveals. The child apparently feels this way “because Leida belittles the child and makes fun of her.” That sounds very upsetting. No minor should be treated that way by a grown adult. Though police may have felt exhasperated by this family at this point, they are no strangers to dealing with family squabbles. The officer did inform Tania that, if there is no court order or written agreement for custody, Tania’s daughter does not have to visit Eric. Eric and Tania will have to hash it out in court. Of course, this could give Leida exactly what she wants, as viewers saw her demand that Eric stop paying child-support to Tania. Tania also mentioned that she wishes for Eric to stop harassing her at her home. “I advised Tania that she needs to contact the law enforcement agency where she lives,” the officer notes. Tania needs to do that “and inform them on what is going on and her wishes about Eric staying off her property.” It sounds like Tania had initially only gone there to support Tasha, but then asked her own questions. T he in-custody death of a woman who languished in a Texas jail for months over an alleged minor nonviolent offense showed how the cash bail system can tragically kill people. See Also: Fight For Bail And Pretrial Reform Is Steadily Gaining Steam This Year The Bexar County medical examiner concluded that 61-year-old Janice Dotson-Stephens died Friday of natural causes, KSAT-TV reported. She was arrested in July for trespassing on private property and was sitting behind bars ever since because she couldn’t afford the $300 bond. The news outlet speculated that local bail bond companies would have charged her just $30, or 10 percent of her bond, to arrange her release. Dotson-Stephens’ family said they were unaware that she was in jail and believed she was getting treatment at a state hospital for mental illness. “We just felt that she shouldn’t have died as a criminal in the jailhouse. She wasn’t a criminal. She had mental health illness,” her daughter-in-law, Leticia Dotson , said . Anger over her death lit a fire under Alec Karakatsanis , the founder and executive director of Civil Rights Corps who blamed society for Dotson-Stephens’ unfair treatment because she was poor and Black. “We are all responsible for the injustices of our legal system, and for the suffering inflicted in our name. We must all find out about what our court bureaucracy is doing to poor people and people of color every day, and then we should all organize against it,” he told NewsOne in an email Tuesday afternoon. A woman was held in jail for six months because she couldn’t afford to pay her $300 bond. She just died in custody. Nationally, Blacks get detained in jail at nearly five times the rate as whites. Moreover, African-Americans aged 18 to 29 typically receive significantly higher bail amounts than other defendants. Activists were pushing for bail and pretrial reforms across the nation and some progressive local governments were instituting reforms. In Atlanta, for example, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms signed an ordinance in February that eliminated cash bonds for release from the City of Atlanta Detention Center. The movement received a major boost in July through a federal appeals court decision that upheld the constitutionality of a New Jersey law that reformed the state’s bail system. At the same time, the ruling provided a court-approved reform model that other states could follow. In the New Jersey ruling , judges acknowledged that the state instituted the reforms to address inequalities—also found in other states—that kept poor people behind bars for nearly a year on average while awaiting a hearing because they couldn’t afford to pay bail of $2,500 or less. It appeared that the mistreatment of Dotson-Stephens may run deeper. The court ordered her to undergo a psychological evaluation while in custody, but the results were not reported immediately. T here’s now independent confirmation that Georgia’s Governor-elect Brian Kemp fabricated a tale about a cybercrime while serving as secretary of state to help himself steal the gubernatorial election from Stacey Abrams . This comes on the heels of news that federal investigators did not indict Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum in its probe into city government corruption. His Republican rival for Florida governor exploited the FBI investigation to win votes by falsely suggesting that Gillum was a criminal. See Also: Brian Kemp’s Latest Move Shows His ‘Desperation,’ Stacey Abrams Says Kemp, who as secretary of state oversaw his own election, was in a virtual tie in the polls with Abrams when he claimed on Nov. 4–days before the election–that the state’s Democratic Party hacked into his office’s voter registration database . However, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Friday that it found no evidence to support that claim, concluding that, “It appears unlikely that any crime occurred.” In a race that Kemp won with 50.2 percent of the vote, the Journal-Constitution speculated that Kemp’s fable could have swung the election in his favor. While appearing Nov. 4 on CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper,” host Jake Tapper informed Abrams that Kemp opened an investigation of the Georgia Democratic Party. “This is a desperate attempt on the part of my opponent to distract people from the fact that two different federal judges found him derelict in his duty and forced him to allow absentee ballots to be counted,” she said after hearing about Kemp’s allegations for the first time. Kemp tried to use every trick in the book to suppress the Black vote for the 2018 election. Many, including former President Jimmy Carter , urged Kemp to recuse himself as secretary of state to ensure a fair election . But Kemp refused. In another closely watched election, Florida’s governor-elect Ron DeSantis painted Gillum, who would have become the state’s first Black governor, as a criminal. It was part of his racist campaign to win a close election. The cloud of corruption finally lifted from the mayor on Dec. 12 when an FBI report on its probe of Tallahassee officials confirmed Gillum’s denial of wrongdoing. Gillum’s name was not listed among those indicted by federal authorities in an investigation into whether businessmen were able to influence Tallahassee development projects. DeSantis poured millions of dollars into a smear campaign against Gillum. Republicans spent at least $7 million on TV ads to connect Gillum to the investigation. It paid off, with DeSantis winning a narrow victory. L egal Aid Society lawyers urged Staten Island’s district attorney to prosecute two New York City cops who appeared in body camera footage to plant drug evidence after a traffic stop of four Black men in February. However, the prosecutor and police officials have denied seeing what’s obvious to many in the video, and they won’t reassess the case in light of the officers’ record of targeting Black and Hispanic drivers. McMahon , the legal advocacy group claimed that video evidence suggested that Officer Kyle Erickson planted a joint in Lasou Kuyateh ’s car after he and his partner Officer Elmer Pastran originally searched but found no drugs, SILive.com reported on Friday. NYPD body camera footage “revealed criminal acts and misconduct by NYPD officers planting false evidence, arresting an innocent person, making false sworn allegations and assisting in the prosecution of manufactured charges,” the letter stated. “We cannot condone illegal acts by police to bring false charges against members of our community.” NYPD pull over 4 black guys in BMW. The reason given for the stop was that the vehicle turned without a signal and its windows were heavily tinted. The New York Times obtained footage of what happened next. The men admitted to smoking marijuana earlier but insisted there was none in the car. Pastran replied, “I don’t appreciate being lied to. I know there is weed in the car. I smell it.” Pastran and Erickson originally declared that they found nothing. However, Erickson’s camera turned off as the search continued. Shortly after, Kuyateh is heard yelling that Erickson put something in his car. Erickson said he found a joint on the car floor behind the driver’s seat, in the same area where Pastran already searched. The officer’s camera had suddenly turned back on right before discovering the marijuana cigarette. Kuyateh, who was 19 at the time, was arrested and spent two weeks in jail before making bail. A criminal court judge dismissed the charges in October during pre-trial hearings over the gap in the police body camera video. Police officials and the district attorney’s offices told SILive.com that they cleared the officers of wrongdoing after internal investigations. They will likely be unmoved by the Legal Aid Society’s findings that 80 percent of the drivers stopped by the two officers were either Black or Hispanic. About 54 percent of their marijuana arrests involved Black people while arresting just four white people for drugs. Source: AFP Contributor / Getty Kenneth “Zoo” Petty Has January Court Appearance Nicki Minaj’s new boyfriend hasn’t seen the last of his legal troubles . According to a report from Page Six , Kenneth “Zoo” Petty is due back in New York’s Nassau County court next month for driving with a suspended license. Reportedly, Mr. Petty was busted after blowing a stop sign on November 11th of this year. Zoo was hit with a misdemeanor charge for operating an unlicensed vehicle along with infractions for failing to stop at the sign and driving with a suspended or revoked license. He is scheduled to appear in Nassau County court again on Jan. 8. Previously, fans dug up Petty’s record. In 1995, Petty was popped for sex assault against a 16-year-old girl. He was also 16 years old at the time and was promptly listed as a registered sex offender. He was sentenced to 18-54 months in prison. Petty later spent seven years behind bars for fatally shooting a man, Lamont Robinson, in Queens in 2002. Despite his legal troubles, Zoo seems to be enjoying the Barb life with Nicki M.
