Via Eurweb reports : British actor Idris Elba escaped injury after a car he was driving flipped over during filming for an upcoming TV documentary. The “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” star was in Finland shooting the BBC documentary “Idris Elba: King of Speed” when he overturned the vehicle on an off-road rally circuit. Elba tells Britain’s The Sun, “I never want to do that again. It’s the first time that I have ever rolled a car. I wasn’t going fast, the car just had a mind of its own when it hit the bank. This is pretty much as moving as it gets. Earlier this month, KSTZ in Des Moines received a letter written by Brenda Schmitz, a mother of four and the late wife of a man named David. She passed away two years ago from ovarian cancer. Prior to her death, however, Brenda instructed a friend to send her message to the radio station – specifically during its “Christmas Wish” program – after David found someone else with whom to share his life. “I have a wish for David and the boys and the woman and her family if she has kids also,” Brenda writes in the letter, which is read aloud in the following footage. “I want them to know I love them very much and they always feel safe in a world of pain.” Brenda goes on to outline a trio of wishes for David and his new fiancee, all of which were actually granted by local sponsors. Girl Dies From Inhaling Dust Off Cleaner Getting an instant high is not worth your life. According to KVAL: Shayla Ream’s family found her unconscious in her bedroom December 13. Her grandfather attempted CPR until medics arrived.The 19-year-old died at the hospital early the next morning. Her older sister Cassandra spoke to KVAL News on Friday at services for her sister. “I wouldn’t want this to happen to anybody else,” Cassandra said. “I really care about other people and for their sake and I know that my sister would care about them.” The family believes Shayla collapsed and vomited after inhaling compressed gas to get high. Doctors confirmed the suspicion. “It coated her lungs as she huffed the inhalant called Dust-Off,” Cassandra said. “When that happened it left no more oxygen to her brain, which shut off all of her organs. And it only happened in a matter of minutes.” Cassandra agreed to talk about her sister’s death in hopes that other kids don’t make the same mistake. “She was in her first semester of LCC, and then she was trying to become a wedding planner,” Cassandra said. “She was starting to become somebody. Will Phil Robertson’s controversial, now-infamous comments on homosexuality mark the end of Duck Dynasty? Should they? That’s a question many are asking. The answer won’t be an easy one, especially for A&E, which announced that the patriarch of the popular family show had been placed on indefinite suspension . But can the ratings juggernaut even go on without its central character, the man who presides over the family and leads the dinner time prayers? And will fewer people watch Duck Dynasty online or on TV, and buy less show merchandise, given Phil Robertson’s remarks about gays and gay sex? “All shows run their course,” said an insider close to the production. “This still has at least another season or two in it. Granted, the overall feeling of uninhibited love that this country has had for the show and brand will likely start to turn a bit.” Since Duck Dynasty boasts such a big cast, losing a cast member won’t prevent them from moving ahead with the popular series, even if the focus shifts. The creative and marketing teams still face major problems , however, as Phil is ultimately the leader of the family and the source of many “words of wisdom.” He is also the founder of the multi-million dollar Duck Commander business that the show prominently features, and thus his absence likely going to hurt. As a result, it will be tough for A&E to continue airing the program without inciting protests from LGBT, African American and rural interest groups. Nor is the show likely to find a home anywhere else if A&E were to cut ties with the Robertsons. “There isn’t a network out there that would do things differently, with all their corporate conglomerate ties, they’d all follow a similar course as A&E has,” said the source. “It’s likely the beginning of the end for Duck Dynasty .” Is it, though? Many fans would be upset if the show did not go on, and want to see Robertson similarly reinstated and the network lift the suspension. A&E is facing threats of audience boycotts and outrage from devoted fans of the program since it made the decision to suspend Phil Robertson . Calling it an act against freedom of speech and those who hold traditional Christian values, critics of the network feel he is being unfairly persecuted. While Robertson did not apologize for his anti-gay comments , in which he likened gay sex to bestiality and prostitution, he did explain in a statement: “I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior.” “My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.” “However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. After being a belieber for so long, I can finally say I met him on July 7 th , 2013 in Des Moines, Iowa . On July 7, my family and I drove out to Des Moines. As we arrived, we drove by the arena to see all of the beliebers covered in purple and Justin shirts and to get a glimpse of his tour bus. Around 4:00 we went to check in and get our laminates and wristbands, then headed to the VIP party. We were led backstage and while we were in line, I saw Dan, Kenny, and tons of the dancers. Suddenly I saw bread being thrown from inside the curtains out into the girls in front of the line, and girls started cheering and screaming. It was definitely Justin. As the line got shorter I could see the outline of his body behind the curtain and I took a quick peek inside at one point. As they opened the curtain for me to go in, I had a perfect view of him.. my mind went blank and all I could see was him. He looked so perfect, he didn’t even look real. It quickly hit me. I was meeting my whole world. My lifesaver. My idol. In a few seconds I would be right next him.. unreal. I didn’t even notice his crew in there, I was just staring at him. During that time, it was a little boy dressed as fetus Justin’s turn. As he walked up next to Justin, Justin with his deep, raspy voice said, “Aww, hey little buddy,” and from that point on, I felt like I was in a dream. As soon as my sister was done taking her picture, it was my turn. I walked up to him and turned facing the camera, looked behind him to place my arm perfectly on his back (his shirt was so soft) and smiled while a white flash woke me up from what I thought was a dream. I didn’t say anything because I was too starstruck to even function. Turning to leave, Justin shifted his hand to my waist and his fingers slowly unhooked from me one by one as I headed for the exit and from that moment, I realized dreams do come true. It was a moment I’ll never forget. I’ve been here since late ’09 and honestly, hard work does pay off. If you want to meet Justin, don’t give up. My name is Abbey and I’m to the right of Justin in my picture. After 4 years of loving and supporting Justin, I never thought I would finally get to meet him August 2nd, 2013. After going to two other Believe Tour concerts, I would finally get to meet him at my third one. I found out I was meeting Justin the day before the concert. My mom surprised me and my 3 other friends with meet and greets. She had gotten them from work from Justin’s record label and I couldn’t have been more blessed. Before she told me, I was crying all day because I knew I would never be able to meet him. I cried for hours and then finally my dream came true. My friends and I cried as soon as we found out and were still in shock all day. Then, finally the day had come. We were on our way to the arena and couldn’t have been more happy. We had arrived at 3:45 in Brooklyn and had to get our meet and greets at 5:45. Those were the longest 2 hours of my life. Waiting patiently to receive my bracelets was the hardest thing ever. Knowing that in 2 hours you would be able to meet your idol was amazing. Finally at 5:45 we got our bracelets and made our way to the VIP section in the arena. There we waited for 1 hour on the line with a bunch of other girls. Finally we were moved downstairs and we were minutes away from meeting Justin. As we were getting closer and closer to the curtain I started panicking. I saw him through the curtain and burst out into tears. I didn’t want to be crying in the picture so everyone was trying to calm me down. They kept saying we needed groups of 6 but I was lucky enough to get a group of 4 because the lady behind us said she knew Ryan. Then it was our turn and before we walked in, the guy told us to be careful of Justin’s left arm. We walked in and he was just standing there looking perfect as always. He had a rubber bracelet and was flinging it at Ryan Butler. I walked over and he said, “Hi guys” and smiled. For the picture I put my hand on his stomach and he put his arm on my shoulder. The picture went so fast I wasn’t even sure if I was looking at the camera but I knew I had tears in my eyes. After the picture he pulled me and my friend Victoria in for a hug. He squeezed our heads into his chest and he said “Awww” and smiled so big. The whole time I couldn’t stop staring at his little scar on his cheek and his perfect lips. After the hug we all said, “I love you Justin” and he said, “Thank you guys, I love you.” He was even more perfect in person. On the way out I said hi to Ryan and he smiled. I cried for about an hour after we met him and it was the best day of my life. It still doesn’t seem real that I met the real Justin Bieber that I talk about every day.
