Lady Gaga Reveals Favorite ‘Marry The Night’ Scenes

‘The entire story’s true, and it’s through the lens of how I choose to repaint my past,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Lady Gaga performing “Marry the Night” at the 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball Photo: Joe Scarnici/ WireImage Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” video debuted last week to all the pomp and circumstance you’d expect from the Mother Monster. After several teases, the nearly 14-minute-long video was an insider’s look at the struggles Gaga went through before she hit it big. Based on her experience of being dropped by Island/Def Jam before getting picked up by Interscope Records, the pop superstar uses some creative license in the clip to share with fans the life-changing experience. “This was one of the first times that the fashion didn’t propel so much of the story line,” she told MTV News at Los Angeles’ Jingle Ball concert of the self-directed video. “It is autobiographical, so the entire story’s true, and it’s through the lens of how I choose to repaint my past.” While many of the Grammy nominee’s past videos have been focused on the visuals — especially what she’s wearing — Gaga said “Marry the Night” was a whole different monster. “Even though the fashion’s important, for the first time, it didn’t dictate every single moment,” she said. “The aesthetic was more driven by the emotion of the song and the feeling of New York City. It was more cinema, art-house inspired.” While there’s many memorable scenes and looks in the video (including a mental breakdown in which she smashes Cheerios on her naked body, some “Fame”-inspired dance routines in spandex and, of course, a mental-hospital scene that features a very stylish hospital gown), Gaga explained what she loves the most in the video. “I do really love the ballet sequence,” she said. “The Noritake shoes with the latex ballet outfit, the sort-of broken ballet moment I thought was really beautiful.” While her BeDazzler never makes a cameo in the video, a reference to it and an outfit that is blinged out with sequins remains an equally unforgettable scene. As Gaga is trying to reinvent herself after she is told to give up on ballet, she heads to dance rehearsals wearing her Madonna “Who’s That Girl” finest (denim completely covered in sequins) on her way to pop superstardom. Gaga used to BeDazzle her clothes pre-fame, but now, more famous people BeDazzle for her. “I used to use glue as well, just straight Gem-Tac glue with rhinestones,” she said. “But, for example, that outfit was a costume made my Versace. But back in the day, I had just wreaked some havoc on old denim.” What do you think of Gaga’s “Marry the Night” fashion? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga’s ‘Marry The Night’ Video Will Be ‘Perfect’

Little Monsters outside the new Gaga window displays at Barneys tell us what they expect from the clip, which debuts Thursday (December 1). By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Brian Phares Lady Gaga Photo: Emmanuel Dunand/ Getty Images Have you RSVP’d for Lady Gaga ‘s wedding yet? On Thursday (December 1), Gaga will make it official with all things nighttime when she premieres her self-directed video for her track “Marry the Night.” Shot in Gaga’s hometown of New York City in October, previews have shown that in Gaga’s world, anything can happen, including vintage-feeling trips to the psych ward and “Fame”-esque dance numbers. When MTV News caught up with some of Gaga’s Little Monsters outside of Barneys in New York City, they weighed in on what they thought might go down in Mother Monster’s latest video. “I had some inside info … lots of explosions, lots of hair, lots of makeup, lots of symbolism, lots of Gaga,” Catherine Lloyd dished. “It’s gonna be perfect.” Kyle Larkins has no doubt that the video will be all Gaga all the time. “I have no idea what to expect from the ‘Marry the Night’ video. It’s Gaga,” he said. “She’s crazy in all wonderful ways, so I’m looking forward to see what she’s going to come up with.” “My expectations are that it’s going to be over-the-top,” Alisa Lopez added. “She derives most of her inspiration from, well, her videographical inspiration — from Michael Jackson’s videos, Madonna’s videos — so I’m expecting it’ll be longer than 10 minutes.” While no one but Gaga knows what will happen in the video until it drops, Vanity Fair was on set during filming, and Gaga described it as “autobiographical,” adding that she’s “getting ready to relive the worst day of my life” in the clip. Shot on the day when Gaga was wheeled through a hospital on a gurney, she added that “it’s chaotic and sad. But I don’t want it to be safe.” The scene reportedly is based on a situation in her real life. Fan Amy Guerra made this guess about the video: “I’m expecting Gaga to reveal some stuff that we don’t know about her. … I am really excited to see it because I’m a big fan of her and I know she’ll just meet my expectations.” Related Videos Lady Gaga: Inside The Outside

Britney Spears Video Tournament Down To Elite 8!

‘Everytime’ falls out of tournament in round two, losing to ‘Lucky.’ By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker Britney Spears in her video for “Lucky” Photo: Jive Round three is now open for voting in the Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years ! When polls closed Sunday night, we had narrowed the brackets down from the Sweet 16 to the Elite Eight, and some of the results were shocking! Four of the eight matchups in round two of the tournament remained neck-and-neck until the moments the polls closed. After holding the advantage for most of the second round, “Everytime,” which also happens to be Perez Hilton ‘s favorite Britney Spears video, fell out of the tournament, losing to Britney’s diva alter ego in “Lucky.” Two of Britney’s most dance-heavy videos, “(You Drive Me) Crazy” and “Me Against the Music,” were back and forth with each other for most of the round before Madonna and Britney’s hit lunged forward and sent green-tube-top Britney out of the tournament with less than 1 percent more of the votes. Head over to Britney30.MTV.com and vote for your favorite music video in MTV News’ Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years. Round three will see “Stronger” take on “Criminal” in a pairing that many thought would be “Oops! … I Did It Again” vs. “… Baby One More Time.” Of Britney’s three VMA-winning videos that remained in round two, only her most recent win, “Till the World Ends,” will move forward to battle it out with “Lucky.” Round three will also see two of Britney’s most iconic videos, “Toxic” and “I’m a Slave 4 U,” go up against each other; only one of them will make it to the Final Four. Round three is open for voting until Tuesday, November 29, at 11:59 p.m. The final four will be announced and open for voting on the morning of Wednesday, November 30. Which video are you rooting for? Are you surprised by any of the results so far? Share your thoughts in the comments section below! Scarlett Johansson Covers Interview Magazine of the Day

Scarlett Johansson, or Scarjo as she’s known to her closest and dearest friends…..is photoshopped to shit on the cover of the latest Interview magazine…wearing some Madonna from the 80s inspired underwear, looking thin, hot and ready to marry you he divorce you forcing you to fuck hotter bitches than her…..and I’m posting it because I’ve seen Scarlett Johansson’s titties in nude cellphone pics, and any girl who takes nude cell pics and doesn’t whine about it like an annoying cunt, but instead gets the dude behind it arrested, while letting all of us celebrate the pics, is a role model to me….seriously. She handled the nude pics better than every other nude pic scandal I’ve dealt withi on this miserable blog. In fact, nude cellphone pics are a fucking currency to me…I accept it as payment from all favors and tasks, from shoveling driveways this winter, to helping you with your high school homework….

Britney Spears Video Tournament Down To Sweet 16!

‘Toxic’ and ‘Oops! I Did It Again’ sail into round two, while ‘Sometimes’ and ‘I Wanna Go’ are early casualties. By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker Britney Spears Photo: Jive After a surprisingly tight race among the 30 Britney Spears music videos in the first round of MTV News’ Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years , we are now down to 16 candidates for her best video of all time! Perez Hilton and Jordan Miller of BreatheHeavy.com helped the MTV News correspondents weigh in on the first round, which saw the surprising and merciless elimination of the classic “Sometimes” and the newer hit “I Wanna Go.” “I think that ‘I Wanna Go’ is one of Britney’s all-time best videos,” Perez said of the clip, which was defeated by her even newer video for “Criminal,” co-starring real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick. “I like the ‘Criminal’ video; I don’t love it.” Meanwhile, some videos were huge leaders early on, like “Toxic,” “Oops! I Did It Again,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Me Against the Music” and early “TRL”-era hit “(You Drive Me) Crazy.” Head over to Britney30.MTV.com and vote for your favorite music video in MTV News’ Britney Spears Tournament: 30 Videos for 30 Years. The race between “Lucky” and “Boys” was a closer call than MTV News expected, with only a 7 percent margin between the two videos; “Lucky” was the eventual winner. Another interesting twist was the dark “My Prerogative” clip’s triumph over the happy-go-lucky vibe of “Sometimes.” With 16 videos left, the race gets much tighter. Now, Britney’s most epic and most-celebrated videos will be up against each other. “(You Drive Me) Crazy” will take on the double-pop queen-powered “Me Against the Music,” featuring Madonna, while Britney’s first video, ” … Baby One More Time,” takes on her most recent clip, “Criminal.” “Till the World Ends” and “Piece of Me,” which had byes in the first round, are no longer safe, as they are pitted against “My Prerogative” and “Hold It Against Me,” respectively, in round two, which closes at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Madonna Sets Sights On ‘Truth Or Dare’ Fashion Line, Fragrance

‘Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,’ singer says in a statement. By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: James Devaney/ WireImage Madonna helped make tweens Material Girls with her clothing line and now she’s got her sights set on their moms. The OG Material Girl announced that she’s launching a new fashion brand called “Truth or Dare by Madonna.” Aimed at women between the ages 27 and 50, Madonna will serve as the face of the company. For her Material Girl line, which she designed with her daughter Lourdes, she hired former “Gossip Girl”-turned-rocker Taylor Momsen and later Kelly Osbourne to serve as the brand’s model. “Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,” Madonna said in a statement, according to Yahoo . “The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.” In addition to the eventual inclusion of accessories, handbags and lingerie and the possible launch of a full clothing line, Madge will kick things off in April 2012 with her first-ever signature fragrance, joining the ranks of other pop stars like Justin Bieber , Taylor Swift , Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, to name a few. “I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well,” she said. “Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name ‘Truth or Dare.’ ” “Truth or Dare” is named after Madonna’s 1991 documentary of the same name. It chronicled the life of the singer on her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour, giving fans an insider look at life on the road with the pop star. The news of Madonna’s clothing line comes as she releases her film “W.E.” and continues to work on her next studio album with Ray of Light producer William Orbit. It’s expected to drop next spring , coinciding with the release of Truth or Dare. Related Artists Madonna

Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ Makes Hot 100 History

Latest #1 moves her ahead of Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson on the all-time list, with Whitney Houston and Madonna within reach. By James Montgomery Rihanna on the set of her “We Found Love” video Photo: Photopress Belfast/Splash News Rihanna may have pushed the boundaries with her video for “We Found Love,” but thanks to that song, she’s now pushed her way into the history books — and passed a pair of all-time greats in the process. “Love” just completed its climb to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, giving Rihanna her 11th #1 hit, which puts her one ahead of Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson. With her latest chart-topper, she’s now tied with Whitney Houston and is within reach of equaling Madonna and the Supremes’ career total of 12 #1’s. If — or, more likely, when — she gets her 12th, she’ll trail only Michael Jackson (13 #1’s), Elvis Presley (17), Mariah Carey (18) and the Beatles (20) on the all-time list. Rare company, indeed. And just as impressive is how quickly she’s accomplished all this. Earlier this month, when “Love” leapt from #16 to #9 on the Hot 100, RiRi made Billboard history by racking up 20 top 10’s faster than any solo artist , doing it in just six years and four months. That bested a mark previously set by Madonna, who did it in six years and nine months and ranks Rihanna second to only the Beatles, who pulled off the feat in a staggering two years and seven months. Rihanna is the 14th artist to ever earn 20 Hot 100 top 10’s and is just the fifth woman to do it. Madonna leads everyone with 37 top 10’s, followed by Carey and Jackson (27 each) and Whitney Houston, with 23. What do you think about Rihanna’s chart accomplishment? Let us know in the comments!
