Michelle Williams on Life After Heath Ledger’s Death

“It’s changed how I see the world and how I interact on a daily basis. It’s changed the parent I am. It’s changed the friend I am. It’s changed the kind of work that I really want to do. It’s become the lens through which I see life — that it’s all impermanent.” On the eve of her turn as Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn , Michelle Williams opened up to Vogue even more about her career, family, and personal life. Including: “I’m not lonely, and I think that has a lot to do with what’s on my bedside table rather than what’s in my bed.” [ Vogue ]

Marilyn Monroe "Sex Film" Goes Unsold at Auction

It’s still under debate whether or not a 1948 “stag film” owned by Spanish events promoter Mikel Barsa actually contains footage of a young Marilyn Monroe , but buyers at an auction this weekend weren’t willing to take the risk. Barsa claims that the woman in the scratchy 6-minute film reel, unearthed in 1980, is Marilyn, or Norma Jean Baker as she was called then, masturbating and having sex with an unidentified man. But Barsa also claims that a 1996 letter from Alan Brown of the American Film Institute “proves” it’s her in the movie, while the letter, available online, actually says: It’s not clear whether the woman in the film is Marilyn Monroe — if not, she’s definitely a lookalike. Lookalike or not, Marilyn’s estate flat-out denies that the woman in the film is her, and Authentic Brands Group , the company that licenses Marilyn’s image for all those awful “playing pool with Elvis and Jimmy Dean in paradise” posters, went so far as to say Barsa is “perpetrating a fraud on the public, violating the Monroe estate’s exclusive rights to her image and other claims of intellectual property infringement”. Thanks to these harsh words, the “stag film” received no offers at an Argentinan auction this weekend, falling far short of its $480,000 expectations. You know, Mr. Barsa, Mr. Skin’s got a crack team of skin experts that would be slappy to review the reel. If anybody can crack this nude case, it’s Mr. Skin, so how ’bout you send US the footage? President Barack Obama used his weekly address to again call for “shared sacrifice” from both parties to solve the debt crisis, and said if the middle class have to face cuts, the wealthiest Americans should be asked to pay more. “The truth is, you can’t solve our deficit without cutting spending,” Obama said. “But you also can’t solve it without asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 16/07/2011 15:00 Number of articles : 3

Lindsay Lohan’s Family Threatens To Sue Over ‘Dogs In Pocketbooks’

Mom Dina Lohan says the family has ‘a very strong case’ against satirical film. By Terri Schwartz Lindsay Lohan Photo: Evan Agostini/ Getty Images It took less than a day for reps from the Lohan family to speak out against Charles Casillo’s latest film, “Dogs in Pocketbooks.” The screenplay was written as a satire of Lindsay Lohan’s life, though Casillo was emphatic that the film was “in no way mean-spirited toward Lindsay,” adding, “It’s the kind of thing she has spoofed about herself in the past.” But the Lohan family has been notoriously sensitive about anything that makes a mockery of Lindsay, most recently seen when they sued E-Trade for $100 million because of an ad that was modeled after her and ran during the Super Bowl. Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mother, spoke with TMZ and said the family is considering legal action against Casillo. She said the new movie is “definitely based on Lindsay’s likeness” (something Casillo did not try to hide when the film was announced Monday) and that the family has “a very strong case. It’s shadowing E-Trade.” The Lohan family has already contacted their lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, who told TMZ she thinks they have a case against the film. “They are again using [Lindsay’s] likeness without her being compensated,” the lawyer said. “Not only that, but they are advertising the fact they are using her likeness. Anyone bringing negativity will be dealt with accordingly.” When TMZ contacted Casillo for comment, he backpedalled and said that allegations that the movie is based on Lindsay are “totally blown out of proportion.” He argued that the character is a composite of many young Hollywood starlets, including Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow. “Dogs in Pocketbooks” follows a “bratty movie goddess in and out of rehab, in trouble with the law, and hounded by greedy agents, predatory paparazzi, off-the-wall stalkers and crazed media.” The title is an obvious reference to the trend Hilton started by carrying around her teacup Chihuahua in her purse, but the rest of the character description sounds markedly similar to Lohan. On Monday, it was announced that model and heiress Lydia Hearst Shaw would play the lead, with Joan Collins cast as her agent. Casillo said of Hearst Shaw, “She’s one of the few supermodels who can actually act. She’s smart, well-read, charming and very beautiful. We looked at a lot of actresses for this role, and I was really knocked out.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Buzz Break: Marilyn Monroe’s Pigtail Moment

The Verge: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

It’s not easy to play a cinematic dream girl, especially the inscrutable Ramona Flowers of Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World , who literally meets our titular hero (played by Michael Cera) for the first time inside his own dream. Still, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead pulls it off, and why shouldn’t she, after braving challenges like Live Free or Die Hard , Death Proof , and the upcoming remake of The Thing ? Just before Scott Pilgrim’s release this past weekend, Winstead called up Movieline to discuss elements of a fight scene you didn’t see, the film’s reshot ending, and the credit she’s got that’s even weirder than Scott Pilgrim.
