Emma Stone Calls Her MTV Movie Award ‘My Child’

‘I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting,’ she says of Best Comedic Performance prize. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Emma Stone wins Best Comedic Performance at the 2011 Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images A newborn baby was part of the plot in “Due Date,” but it was Emma Stone doing the cradling after she beat Zach Galifianakis (and three other guys) at the MTV Movie Awards . “This is my child,” Stone joked with MTV News backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre as she lovingly cradled the Golden Popcorn she nabbed for Best Comedic Performance. “I’m going to [feed him]. I’m going to every day. “It’s never happened before,” she added. “I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting.” “Easy A” earned Stone the win over Galifianakis, Adam Sandler (“Just Go With It”), Ashton Kutcher (“No Strings Attached”) and Russell Brand (“Get Him to the Greek”). “In a category with four hilarious comedic men? I did not think I was going to win,” she said. “So I’m incredibly flattered and honored. “And it’s so nice, because it’s voted on by the public, which is an unbelievable honor,” she added. The 22-year-old actress was on hand as a presenter alongside her “Crazy, Stupid, Love” co-stars Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell. She was also nominated in the Best Female Performance category, which went to Kristen Stewart for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Stone, who just wrapped shooting “The Amazing Spider-Man,” said she was genuinely surprised by her win in the Best Comedic Performance category. “Did that speech seem prepared?” she pointed out, laughing. “I don’t even know what I said! I was just concentrating on not falling over. Once you get up there, it’s a very shaky experience.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . Robert Pattinson Wishes He Had ‘Something Funny To Say’ After Win

MTV News catches up with ‘Twilight’ stud after Best Male Performance win at the Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: MTV News In the biggest non-surprise of the night, Robert Pattinson won the MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance for the third year in a row. But the man himself was still shocked. “I really didn’t think I was going to win. Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that clip!” Pattinson said during his acceptance speech, referring to his fellow nominee’s performance in “Charlie St. Cloud.” Still, he recognized that it was the fans who brought him the win yet again; his first win was in 2009 for “Twilight,” and then again last year for “New Moon.” “I’m consistently surprised, so thank you very much,” he said. “I hope we see you all again next year.” When MTV News caught up with the “Breaking Dawn” star after his big win, he was worried he dropped the ball a bit in his acceptance speech. “I’m just trying to come up with something funny to say to all of these. I pussied out on my first one and said nothing,” Pattinson said with a laugh. Fortunately, the man better known as Edward Cullen followed up his Best Male Performance acceptance speech with a much stronger Best Fight one. He took to the stage with “Eclipse” co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel and, after a moment’s awkwardness, pulled out the humor. “Well, yeah, I won, ha!” Pattinson said as his acceptance. Howard turned to him, apologizing for her villainess role in “Eclipse” by saying, “I guess I should say: I’m so sorry I tried to kill you, Rob.” “It’s all right. I ripped your head off, and now you’re pregnant!” he replied to the audience’s laughter. MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Invitation: What Does It Reveal?

The actual invitation used in the movie for Edward and Bella’s wedding is revealed during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show. By Terri Schwartz “Breaking Dawn” wedding invitation Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage/ MTV It’s the event the world has been waiting for: You are hereby invited to the wedding of Isabella Marie Swan and Edward Anthony Masen Cullen. MTV got their hands on the official “Breaking Dawn” wedding invitation that was used in the movie for Bella and Edward’s nuptials. And if you caught the red-carpet pre-show during the “America’s Best Dance Crew” finale, then you’ve already seen it with your own two eyes. Outlined in lavender and with the Cullen seal in wax embedded on the envelope, MTV has the exclusive invite to the wedding of the century. “Together with their families, [Bella and Edward] request the honor of your presence at the celebration of their marriage,” the invitation reads. SEE PHOTOS OF THE WEDDING INVITATION HERE! “I think that it’s really interesting that they don’t include the parents’ names,” Kallie Matthews of Twilight Series Theories said. “That’s very traditional for most families to have father and the mother’s name and actually the parents inviting the invitees to the wedding. In this case, it kind of makes me wonder if Charlie is really upset about the wedding happening, and the Cullens then decided not to put their names on the invite out of respect.” Also of note, the wedding date has been pushed forward from when it happened in the book — our deductive math skills reveal the wedding technically took place in 2006 — and is now occurring on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. “A lot of people had an idea of when the wedding would be, but now having this firm date, it’s going to be huge,” said Kara Hassell of Twilighters Anonymous . ” ‘Twilight’ fans screaming, you’ll hear them from your house, they’ll be everywhere. It will be a big date, there will be lots of parties, especially because the movie doesn’t come out until later this year, so people will be looking for something to celebrate.” If you feel like honoring that time frame with a visit to Forks, Washington, then you will be happy to know that the wedding is officially taking place at 420 Woodcroft Avenue. Unfortunately, based on a quick Google Maps search, that location doesn’t actually exist, but maybe Summit Entertainment will work their magic to make it happen. Definitely the coolest part of the invitation, though, is the official Cullen crest emblazoned on the wax seal on the envelope. Check your local Hot Topics to see if the Cullen crest becomes the next piece of “Twilight” merchandise that everyone starts sealing their letters with. “The seal is really cool. I really love the color and the context on the seal,” said Laura Byrne-Cristiano of Twilight Lexicon . “It’s got the Cullen crest that we first saw with the first ‘Twilight’ movie and it’s a really nice, rich color. It looks really cool. I like that a lot.” “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” hits theaters November 18, 2011. Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Jim Carrey ‘Comes To Play’ At Movie Awards Again

He’s come as a hippie, a cult leader and a nervous star with an audible inner monologue — so what will he do on Sunday night? By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Carrey at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images Jim Carrey’s appearances at the MTV Movie Awards are the stuff of legend. Who could forget the time he showed up dressed as a Jim Morrison-esque hippie when he won for Best Male Performance in 1999, drinking and smoking all night? The funnyman is back again this year, and supervising producer Jane Mun promises that this appearance will live up to Carrey’s rep for unpredictable hilarity. “Jim Carrey is the most-nominated MTV Movie Awards star,” Mun shared with MTV News. “Jim Carrey always comes to play. And he will be playing this Sunday!” The actor would only give some outlandish hints about what he’d be wearing for his latest appearance. “I’m wearing a suit that I’ve had made,” he told us. “It’s the latest in nanotechnology, so I’m able to project whatever I want on it.” Carrey and the Movie Awards go way back. He won his first prize back in 1995, Best Kiss for smooching Lauren Holly in “Dumb and Dumber.” In 2006, when he won the Generation Award , he donned a cultish white gown and was followed by dozens of people dressed as angels as he accepted his award from Will Ferrell, who called the star “brilliant” and a “talented son of a bitch” thanks to his versatility in the world of film. Carrey joked of his rank as the biggest winner of all time. “Why am I so blessed?” he asked onstage that year. “Why is my life so miraculous? Why do so many struggle with fame while I’m able to float effortlessly on the upper edges of the Hollywood status-phere? You like that word ‘status-phere’? I made it up last night. I made up a word.” When he won for Best Comedic Performance in 2009 for “Yes Man,” he “accidentally” shared his inner monologue instead of a planned speech. “I was choking in front of the world … in front of the good-looking kid from ‘Twilight.’ ” So, what exactly will Carrey be up to when he takes the stage this year? Mun teased, “He is going to be dressed to the nines with something else.” While there are many folks lined up to present at the show, Carrey is bound to be a highlight of the evening. Other attendees include Emma Stone, Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Selena Gomez, Cameron Diaz, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy, Shia LaBeouf, Patrick Dempsey and Josh Duhamel, and many more. ’30 Minutes Or Less’ Stars Call Car Chases ‘Easy’ At MTV’s Sneak Peek Week

Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson share their action-hero dreams at Q&A session. By Eric Ditzian Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson Photo: MTV News WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — The bar was set super high Friday night (June 3) during MTV’s final Sneak Peek Week screening. Since Monday, we’d been showing early looks at some of the summer’s hottest films and having crazy chats with the various casts. Take, for instance, the moment “Horrible Bosses” star Jason Sudeikis launched into a filthily hilarious explanation of the “The Twilight Saga” : the vampire story as told by a “Star Wars”-obsessed, mind-in-the-gutter comedian. The pressure was on Friday, and the guys from “30 Minutes or Less” — stars Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson and director Reuben Fleischer — were more than up to the task. Their upcoming action/comedy, it should be said, served as quite the warm-up act for the crowd at the Pacific Design Center. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg as a beer-guzzling, joint-sucking pizza delivery boy who gets sucked into a harebrained scheme, hatched by slackers played by Danny McBride and Swardson, to rob a bank. Eisenberg’s character, with a bomb strapped to his chest and only hours to complete the heist, enlists his pal, a teacher played by Ansari, to help out in the crime. Things do not go very well, to hilarious results. The part represents Ansari’s biggest onscreen role to date. “This is the first time I’ve been around the whole movie,” he said. “Usually I’ll be around for a few minutes, and then they’re like, ‘Just say something about your penis and get out of here!’ ” It was all new for Swardson, too, who cracked that perhaps he has the makings of an action-hero career. “Maybe I’ll be the Predator!” Is launching such a career as easy as that? According to Ansari, at least, the car-chase portion of action flicks is a breeze. “Car chases are pretty easy,” he said. “You’re like, ‘Oooohhhhhhh!’ OK, let’s get another one. ‘Whooooooooa! Look out!’ ” On second thought, though, maybe these guys aren’t cut out to inherent the cinematic thrones of Stallone and Schwarzenegger. It just takes so damn long to shoot one of these flicks, Ansari said. After production wrapped on “30 Minutes,” he added, “I watched ‘Fast Five,’ and I was like, ‘How did this movie not take 20 years to make? Did Vin Diesel start making this when he was 5?’ ” Though Eisenberg and McBride couldn’t make the Q&A, the duo did tape a message for the crowd. “I sent my family a similar taped message at Thanksgiving,” McBride confessed. Said Eisenberg, “We hope you liked the movie. But if you didn’t, by this point it’s on you, because you’re still there.” As the laughter rolled in, no one seemed to be complaining about spending their Friday night at Sneak Peek Week.
