JonBenet Ramsey: Brother Burke Remembers 6-Year-Old’s Funeral

Burke Ramsey is one of two surviving members of the Colorado family that lost daughter JonBenet in December 1996. Ahead of the 20th anniversary of the beauty pageant participant's death, Burke has agreed to a sit-down with Dr. Phil. There's something off about the 29-year-old, something creepy in the way he smiles and the way his eyes shift here and there while he talks. In the latest clip from Dr. Phil's three-part interview , Burke spoke briefly about JonBenet's funeral. “Yah, I remember the viewing. I remember the casket was small and her eyes were closed,” Burke said. “I think one of her eyes was a little droopy or something. I thought that was weird.” Dr. Phil asked what was going through Burke's mind when he saw his sister like that. “That was weird,” he shared. “That was traumatizing a little bit.” “It was a lot of sadness. I don't think I fully grasped, like 'After this, I won't see her again.' “I remember my parents being really upset. I can remember my dad leaning down and giving her a kiss.”   For as awkward as he appears to be, Burke doesn't mince words when it comes to the media storm that has encircled his life for the past twenty years. “I know people think I did it; that my parents did it,” Burke said of the murder, in which JonBenet was found in the basement of the family's home. The first thing I remember is my mom bursting into my room really frantic saying ‘Oh my gosh, oh my gosh,’ running around my room, now, I know, looking for JonBenet.” Burke also remembers the TV vans and camera crews that have been in his face over the years. “Seeing that as a little kid is just kind of a chaotic nightmare, so I was pretty skeptical of any sort of media, it just made me a very private person,” Burke revealed. “As to what I’m doing now, it’s the 20th anniversary and apparently still a lot of tension around it, I guess I kind of wanted to make it about remembering her and not just another news story.” While Burke is telling his side, former suspect John Mark Karr claims he knows exactly who killed the six-year-old, but will take his secret to the grave.   “I’m going to protect every person that needs to be protected ,” Mark Karr told producers of the three-part documentary, JonBenet: An American Murder  Mystery. “Maybe God up in Heaven will forgive me for some of the things that I did to help other people!” JonBenet: An American Murder Mystery miniseries premieres tonight on Investigation Discovery at 10 p.m.

Robert Wagner to Be Arrested For Murder of Natalie Wood?

It’s been almost 35 years since Natalie Wood drowned during a boat trip with husband Robert Wagner and friend Christopher Walken. Despite the fact that decades have passed since Wood lost her life under mysterious circumstances off the coast of Catalina Island, there’s been a renewed interest in the circumstances of her death in recent years. The case began making headlines again back in 2012, when Wood’s death certificate was officially changed to include “mysterious circumstances” as one of the causes of her passing. Shortly thereafter, rumors that Wood caught Wagner and Walken in bed together on the night of her death began to circulate online. In December of 2014, Walken was questioned by police in connection with Wood’s death, but insiders say the interrogation produced no new information. Several members of Wood’s family have remained persistent in their efforts to get to the bottom of what really happened on that fateful night in 1981, and the campaign to get all parties involved to participate in the ongoing investigation led to a videotaped confrontation between Wagner and Wood’s sister last year: Natalie Wood: Late Actress’ Sister Confronts Robert Wagner Over Murder Investigation Now, a private detective firm called Cold Case Investigative Research claims to have assembled sufficient evidence to offer to convince police to arrest Wagner for Wood’s murder. CCIR investigator Mark Rulli recently revealed to Radar Online that the firm has turned a file containing their findings over the Los Angeles Ounst Sheriff’s Department, which reopened its own investigation into Wood’s death in 2011. “Natalie was married to a jealous man, who ended up robbing her of life,”  Rulli tells the website. While he’s unable to confirm the rumors about Walken and Wagner being involved in a sexual relationship, Rulli says he’s been able to prove conclusively that Wagner was carrying on two simultaneous affairs while Wood was still alive. In order to avoid compromising the investigation, Rulli declined to offer forensic details, but an insider familiar with the case has assured Radar that “a bust is looming.” A spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed that the department is “fully aware” of CCIR’s findings, but did not offer any further information. It remains unclear if police have any intention of pressing charges against the 86-year-old Wagner. We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Counting On Season 3 Episode 2 Recap: Jinger Duggar is Courting!!!

On Jill & Jessa Counting On Season 3 Episode 2 , Jeremy Vuolo enjoyed his first meal with the Duggars and Jinger revealed her courtship rules. Or lack thereof, as it turned out. Watch Jill & Jessa Counting On Season 3 Episode 2 Online Jinger, quite clearly, is smitten. “Jeremy Vuolo is my best friend from Laredo, Texas, and he recently asked me if I would enter into an official courtship with him,” she said. Jeremy, clearly, is smitten too. “It’s a big next step, and it’s an exciting next step,” Jeremy added, as they went to Jessa and Ben Seewald’s house for ice cream and conversation. With Jessa’s father Jim Bob sort of awkwardly there too, Ben asked the new couple they had discussed any of their “courtship guidelines.” The response? “I have a desire to save the physical for marriage,” Jeremy said, noting that he “understood the temptations” in rushing into the sex. Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo Reveal Courtship Rules … or Lack Thereof Pastor Vuolo reiterated that the duo would “enjoy each other” in the physical way another “season,” but not right now. Because #courting. Joseph Duggar then broke down for viewers at home the list of Duggar courtship rules and other things banned by the famous family. As we all know if we watch Counting On online , side hugs are okay, but frontal hugs are not. You just don’t want to touch fronts. Yet. Counting On Season 3 Episode 2 was a refresher course in Duggar courting awkwardness, which also forbids holding hands or kissing. Is Jinger ready to rebel against this nonsense? View Slideshow: 13 Things BANNED in the Duggar Family “You don’t have to it all listed, like a set of rules,” she told the cameras. “It’s more the general idea and letting people around you know.” Jessa Duggar weighed in that there is obviously the natural, physical pull to be close, which is why you needed to “let people help you.” In other words, chaperone to stop full-frontal hugs. Ben and Jessa offered to do just that, chaperoning Jinger and Jeremy, who later went to dinner at the Duggar compound and held his own. Jana Duggar, the eldest daughter of the family, could see them getting married, but her twin, John David, was still “checking him out.” Joseph reiterated that the brothers are “not going to just hand over” their sister to anybody, and would be watching Vuolo like a hawk. Such an intimidating bunch of virgins. View Slideshow: Jinger Duggar Photos: From Childhood to Courtship! Jill and Derick Dillard, who witnessed the couple’s first meeting on a mission trip, noticed them paying special attention to each other. Having done the long distance thing, they certainly know how it goes and how challenging it can be, but Jinger seems up to the task. Meanwhile, a bunch of the siblings decided to go on a trip to learn survival prowess; Jinger attended with a Vuolo jersey-wrapped pillow. Yes, she made a pillowcase out of one of the former soccer pro’s old jerseys. Kinda tells you all you need to know right there, right? Naturally, love-struck Jinger spent most of the car ride to the survival camp on FaceTime with Jeremy and worrying about losing reception. Ah, love in the 21st Century. Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard on Missionary Life: So Much Rape, Kidnapping & Murder! In non-Jinger-related updates, Jessa, Ben and baby Spurgeon hit the gym, where Ben talked about one of the latest big ideas he has. With the aid of trainer Steve Conley, a family friend, he’s thinking of establishing a football camp to help at-risk youth. Would be cool. As for their workout, Seewald seemed to exert himself slightly more than Jessa or Spurgeon, but we’ll give the latter duo a pass on that. Meanwhile, Jill’s parents gave her air conditioning units so she and Derick could keep their windows and doors closed, which was huge. Not only for the obvious climate control and creature comforts involved, but because violent crime happens all the time in El Salvador. “You have to strike a balance,” Derick said of managing safety risks and isolating themselves from the people they were there to help. Derick said sexual assault is prevalent in Central America, along with kidnapping and murder, and that as Americans, they are targets. Yikes.

New MTV Show “Unlocking The Truth” Tackles Wrongful Convictions

Show Host Served Nearly 10 Years For A Murder He Didn’t Commit A new reality show on MTV is tackling the shocking epidemic of wrongful convictions – and its disproportionate impact on the black community. “Unlocking The Truth” follows Ryan Ferguson, who spent a decade in prison for a murder he did not do, and investigator Eva Nagao as they uncover new evidence in crimes where the defendants were convicted under questionable circumstances. “This is something that is very real,” Ferguson told BOSSIP. “It could happen to anyone at any time.” There are about 2.3 million people in prison, and a little less than half are black men, according to the Bureau of Prisons. Of the number of incarcerated, the show estimates there are as many as 60,000 innocent people who are currently locked up. Ferguson himself was convicted of murder and spent his 20s behind bars, until witnesses in his case recanted. He filed an appeal, and a judge ordered him released. He now has a lawsuit pending against the prosecutors and law enforcement who pushed for his conviction. “Somebody right now is going through what I went through,” he said. “This happens to poor people, and there are racial issues as well.” Ferguson’s co-star, Nagao agreed, and said the public is interested in police accountability, especially after several recent incidents of police shooting unarmed black men. “I think it speaks to broader issues that people are interested in,” she said, “and highlights the systemic failures that there are.” The first episode sees Ferguson return to the same Kansas City, Mo. prison he’d been locked up in to visit Michael Politte, a man who said he was wrongly convicted of bludgeoning his mother and setting her on fire when he was just 14 years old. Ferguson said he planned to continue his work around wrongful convictions as long as he could because in helping others, he was helping himself. The show’s goal is to use individual cases to expose the system-wide failures within the criminal justice system – and its unequal burden on the black community, said Andrew Jenks, the show’s executive producer. “The judicial system is f**ked, needs major overhaul,” Jenks said, “and if we can play a small part in making a difference, that’s awesome.” “Unlocking The Truth” premieres Aug. 17 at 11 p.m. on MTV.

Race Matters: Michigan Man Saws Neighbor’s Racist “Make The Township White Again”

Michigan Man Saws Neighbor’s Racist White Supremacy Sign In Half Donald Trump has truly empowered some of these white people to be as bold as they’ve ever been with their bigotry. Via NYDN A Michigan man outraged by a racist sign saying “Make the township white again” could be seen on video sawing the plywood board in half Sunday. The Donald Trump supporter who installed the sign by the side of the road in Flushing Township threatened to file trespassing charges against T.J. Tarrant and Chase Frechette. Yet a Facebook video filmed by Frechette of Tarrant using his circular saw to slice the spray-painted sign in half had drawn over 76,000 views by Tuesday afternoon. “You know what I think about this piece of s–t motherf—–g sign right here?” Tarrant said in the video. “Watch this. Watch this s–t, world.” Yes, watch. Good for him. Hopefully some of his anglo-saxon peers take initiative and take action against the racism they see. Image via YouTube
