Betsy DeVos Confirmed as Secretary of Education

Good news!  You now have one more abomination to throw in the face of your idiot friend who keeps insisting you need to give the Trump administration a chance. Unfortunately, it comes at the expense of a generation of a schoolchildren. Moments ago, Betsy DeVos – Trump’s pick as U.S. Secretary of Education – was confirmed for the position in a vote so close that a tie had to be broken by Vice President Mike Pence. The 51-50 vote officially makes DeVos one of the controversial cabinet members in American history. And why are so many unhappy about the appointment? Well, there’s the fact that DeVos will be in charge of our nation’s public schools, despite the fact that she never attended one, worked in one, or sent her children to one. And the fact that she favors privatizing public schools, despite the fact that such systems promote racial segregation and fail to benefit others besides wealthy CEOs like herself and Trump. Or how about the fact that openly bought her post through millions in campaign contributions to Trump and many of the Republican senators who voted today. Here’s a helpful look at how her cash was distributed. Little Marco must be tough to buy off! Two Republican senators did vote against the appointment, proving that there is some opposition to Trump’s billionaires first agenda. Just not enough to make any real difference. This is far from the only controversial cabinet appointment made by Trump, and the president seems intent on privatizing or eliminating any of federal programs and services. There were cries of outrage when Rex Tillerson was appointed Secretary of State because the Exxon-Mobil CEO seems to have been chosen for no other reason than that he’s a close business ally to Vladimir Putin. Millions were infuriated when Rick Perry was chosen as Secretary of Energy  because he admitted to being clueless as to what the department does, and had previously spoken of doing away with it. Then there’s Scott Pruitt, tapped by Trump to head the Environmental Protection Agency – which he spent his entire career as Oklahoma’s Attorney General at odds with, and often suing. And yet the DeVos nomination somehow seems even worse. Almost like the people of this country care about their children’s future. Did Trump overplay his hand with this one? Teen Mom 2 Season 8 Episode 6 saw Jenelle tell Barbara and Jace about her pregnancy – after she let the world know, ’cause obviously. If you watch Teen Mom 2 online , or follow her on Instagram, then you know Jenelle Evans and her BF David Eason are having a girl. Barbara Evans, however, found out after you did. Watch Teen Mom 2 Season 8 Episode 6 Online Yes, Jenelle and David went out to eat, settled on the name Ensley (which they stuck with) and had pregnancy announcement pics taken. All before the expectant duo told her mother or Jenelle’s two sons, Jace and Kaiser, for that matter, on  Teen Mom 2 Season 8 Episode 6 . Instagram, priorities, are we right? The phrase “better late than never” didn’t resonate with Barbara, who had already asked her repeatedly if there was a baby on the way. Not only was she the last two know, but Jenelle had lied to Barbara … who heard about the pregnancy rumors from tabloids and coworkers. The hurt on her face was obvious: Jenelle Evans: Watch Her Dramatic Pregnancy Reveal to Son Jace! After a whole lot of deliberation (and conflicting accounts) from Jeremy Calvert, Leah Messer was finally set to go on vacation to California. She brought Ali’s wheelchair, but was adamant that Ali not feel different from her sisters, be it on vacation, at school or anywhere else. This, naturally, is an ongoing theme for her. How to keep Ali feeling independent, and be prepared to handle any health deterioration that might come their way now or in the future? Our hearts break for Leah and Ali. The young mother of three started to cry, and how can she not, with the weight of this on her shoulders? “Whatever happens is going to happen, and I’m going to be her mommy no matter what,” she said as she wiped her tear-filled eyes. Leah Messer Breaks Down Over Disabled Daughter: Watch In Delaware, Kailyn Lowry officially began to break down. Uninterested in interacting with estranged husband Javi Marroquin, her prior ex Jo Rivera had to step in as it started to impact her son. Jo’s son with Kailyn, Isaac, still wanted to hang out with Javi, regardless of the fact that Kailyn and Javi were splitting up in ugly fashion. Long story short? Javi and Jo were co-parenting. For real. You would never think of Kailyn’s exes (well, at least Jo) as the voice of reason, or the calm, collected parent of the bunch, but hey. Props to Jo for stepping up big, and he wasn’t wrong when he vented about Kailyn not putting her son first in the whole divorce drama. Whatever happened between Javi and Kailyn, or who they date next, Isaac and Lincoln will be impacted. Only Jo seems to get this … Kailyn Lowry Slammed by Jo Rivera: Grow Up! Meanwhile, it was the first day of Aubree’s first grade class, and the start of T-ball season, and proud mom Chelsea Houska was overjoyed. The Housk was a tad miffed at at Aubree’s dad, Adam Lind, who showed up to the game, which was filmed, but not school, which was not. Lind, of course, is feuding with Teen Mom 2 producers for supposedly making him look bad after driving away from scheduled filming. We also know Lind is behind on child support , so his sudden, recorded interest in being Dad of the Year didn’t sit well with or fool anybody. Hilariously, and no doubt intentionally, MTV used its “Previously on Teen Mom 2…” segment pre-show to make the child support point. Blame that one on editing, right Adam? Audi Super Bowl Ad Pushes for Progess, Wage Equality

Audi drove directly into the world of politics on Sunday night. Just like the controversial 84 Lumber ad that has left viewers talking, Audi used its time during Super Bowl LI to make a very clear statement. And that statement centered very clearly on the issue of gender and wage equality. There was no subtlety here, either. While other ads (such as this Budweiser immigration commercial ) tip-toed around sensitive subjects a little bit, Audi did not mince words or beat around any bushes. “What do I tell my daughter?” a man wonders while watching his daughter compete in a downhill derby race, adding: “Do I tell her that her grandpa is worth more than her grandma? That her dad is worth more than her mom? “Do I tell her that despite her education, her drive, her skills, her intelligence, she will automatically be valued as less than every man she ever meets?” After she wins the competition, he muses: “Or maybe I’ll be able to tell her something different.” Elizabeth Banks and Octavia Spencer were among those who reacted to the sentimental ad on social media. To wit: Where do you stand on this sort of Super Bowl commercial? Did you stand up and cheer when you watched? Or roll your eyes over a car company exploiting a legitimately important topic just to sell a few more cars. View the ad below:

Kristen Stewart Makes Fun of Trump, Drops F Bomb on Saturday Night Live!

Kristen Stewart has this weird thing going on where sometimes she's awesome and cool and really great, but sometimes she's just a tiny bit unbearable. But, lucky for us, last night she decided to be great. Kristen hosted Saturday Night Live right now, and while the skits were fun and all that good stuff, what people are really focusing on is her opening monologue. After a Twilight joke — yes, really — she admitted that she was a little nervous to be hosting, since she knew the president would be watching the show. Get it? Because Donald Trump is the president and he's obsessed with checking SNL to see which way they make fun of him each week? But Kristen had an extra reason to be nervous — and that's because, for a period of time in 2012, Trump was also obsessed with Kristen Stewart. He tweeted incessantly about her relationship with Robert Pattinson, and Kristen joked about that in her monologue. Yes, Kristen joked about that time she was in a relationship with and cheated on Robert Pattinson. What a world! She also said that while Trump doesn't like her because he thinks she broke Rob's heart, he has one more reason to hate her now, and that's because she's “like, sooo gay, dude.” And then, just for good measure, Kristen accidentally said “f-ck” on national live television. Kim Kardashian Goes Off HARD on Kourtney and Khloe: F–k You, A–holes!!!

Kim Kardashian is pissed. Like seriously, intensely, royally pissed. At her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, no less. She’s so mad that she made a series of Snapchat videos to discuss her feelings — feelings that include things like “this is so rude” and “f-ck you.” What could have possibly set her off like that? She’s still been keeping relatively quiet since her robbery , so why would she get so intimate on social media after all this time? Well, as it turns out, Kim takes her workouts very, very seriously. She shares a trainer with Khloe and Kourtney, and on this particular day, the trainer, Joe, had scheduled back-to-back sessions with the sisters. Kim Kardashian: My Sisters Are A–holes! He was working with Khloe and Kourtney, then he was going over to Kim’s to work with her. But, as Kim complains, her sisters’ workout started 30 minutes late, so Joe was running 30 minutes late to her workout. And that displeased Kim greatly. She explains what’s going down in the video above, which ends with a lovely sarcastic “Thanks, a–holes,” but she really gets in her groove in this next video: Kim Kardashian Gives a Big “F-ck You” to Her Sisters “OK, seriously, Kourtney and Khloe, f-ck you,” she begins. And yeah, it’s a little hard to take her seriously when she’s airing her grievances while using that bunny filter, but still, she’s upset. “This is so rude,” she tells her sisters. “I’ve been sitting in my garage, waiting on the trainer for 30 minutes.” “I DO have a life.” And you’d think that’d be it, right? That she’s gotten all this off her chest and she’s ready to move on with her life. But come on, y’all. You know Kim is pettier than that . Kim Kardashian Confronts Her Trainer When Joe the Trainer finally does arrive, she interrogates him until he tells her which of her sisters made him so late. It was that dastardly Kourtney. Always trying to ruin Kim’s schedule. Always trying to ruin Kim’s life. So, OK, while this was fun and all — come on, Kim Kardashian said “f-ck you” to her sisters through a bunny filter on Snapchat, you know it’s good — it’s a little bit ridiculous, too. Is there only one trainer in all of Los Angeles? And can he only work during one time period, one day a week? Also, is this really something to get this worked up over? Wouldn’t a sassy text suffice? Did we all really need to hear about what that evil Kourtney did to Kim? We don’t have the answers to all these questions, but we do know that Kim going off on Snapchat is some mighty good entertainment . And for that, we thank her. Taylor Swift Performs Pre-Super Bowl Show: Her Only Show of 2017?!

Today is a very special, very sacred day for the good ol' U.S.A. — it's Super Bowl Sunday, friends ! As people all across the country gather together to eat food and watch football (or the commercials that air in between the football bits), we must also give thanks to all the celebrities that make this such an important event. There's Lady Gaga, for instance, who will be performing for the halftime show. But there's also Taylor Swift, who did a pretty impressive pre-Super Bowl show herself last night in Houston. She performed some old classics like “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me,” and she also did some newer hits like “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space.” She even performed a solo acoustic version of her new song with Zayn Malik , “I Don't Wanna Live Forever,” which you can watch below. But the most interesting moment of the night was when she told the audience that she wasn't planning on doing another performance for a long, long time. “As far as I know,” Taylor said, “I'm only doing one show in 2017, and as far as I know, this is that show.” “So what I'm trying to tell you is, by coming here tonight, you're essentially attending 100 percent of my tour dates for the year, so thank you!” As you might recall, she only did one show in 2016, too. So what's up with Taylor? Is she over being a pop star? Is she just taking a long, long break? Either way, watch an apparently rare performance in the video below:

Nicki Minaj: Pregnant?!?!

So this is a pretty interesting turn of events … Nicki Minaj may be pregnant. Like, several months pregnant. What a surprise, right? It’s so surprising that it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. But Nicki shared this photo on Instagram last night: So it has to be true, right? What are we supposed to believe?! In the caption of the photo, Nicki wrote “ATBIMS. y’all so childish. Omgskibbidybopbophjhddfnij – I was gonna wait to share the news but…” Sounds like she’s in no rush to clear up the confusion, huh? To break it down though “ATBIMS” stands for “all these bitches is my son,” which is something of a catchphrase for Nicki. The line appears many times in her songs. “Y’all so childish” seems to mean that this is a joke, but let’s remember that about a month ago, Meek Mill strongly implied that he’d impregnated Nicki. Right after the news broke that they’d broken up , Meek wrote this little thing on Snapchat that read “I ain’t tell y’all bout her being preg … Nvm lol.” It didn’t get a whole lot of attention at the time because hey, it’s Meek Mill’s Snapchat account, who really cares? But after Nicki’s baby bump pic, people sure are starting to pay attention. At this point, she’s got over 21,000 comments on the photo, many from people who believe she’s actually pregnant. “MY BABY IS PREGO! Congrats,” one fan wrote, just one of many messages of congratulations. “Take good care of little Nicki,” another said. “Omg,” yet another follower wrote, “this is so awesome whats gonna be the name and what is it boy or girl congrats nicki.” One sweet fan said “Wishing u Nicki a safe delivery much love to u and ur unborn child.” But while several commenters were excited about the possible pregnancy, plenty more weren’t buying it. “Don’t play with my emotions like that,” someone told her, “you know how happy this news would make me.” “As if,” another person wrote. “Show us your baby pictures then you are just being selfish because Beyonce is having a baby.” In fact, many people made the Beyonce connection — that Nicki was trying to steal attention from Beyonce’s big pregnancy announcement earlier this week. Others thought it was sweet that the two ladies would give birth around the same time. But while all the speculation is fun, let’s be real — Nicki’s almost certainly not pregnant. Luke Bryan National Anthem: How Did He Do?

Luke Bryan helped honor America prior to Super Bowl LI. The country music artist was chosen to sing the Star-Spangled Banner, mere minutes before the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons took to the field. Wearing blue jeans and a black jacket over a purple shirt, Bryan took his time with the country's national anthem, although he clocked in at just over two minutes and four seconds, under the Las Vegas line of two minutes and eight seconds. He didn't try to do anything particularly special with the song… other than sing it really, really well, that is. And as Bryan held on to the long final note while belting out the word “brave,” the crowd erupted in applause just as U.S. Thunderbirds from the Air Force flew over head. How did Bryan do? VOTE below and weigh in : Bryan, it's worth noting, sang the beloved song a capella. Did he compare to past stalwarts such as Beyonce or Whitney Houston? Watch him do so below:

Hamilton Cast Performs America the Beautiful, Honors "Sisterhood"

The Schuyler Sisters made quite the name for themselves just before the Patriots and Falcons kicked things off in Super Bowl LI. For those unaware, The Schuyler Sisters were comprised of Renee Elise Goldsberry, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Phillipa Soo, the three actresses who originated the roles of Angelica, Eliza and Peggy Schuyler in the hit musical Hamilton. Some have referred to them as the Destiny's Child of Broadway. Okay, maybe that's just us. The the talented trio was reunited Sunday in Houston during Fox’s live Super Bowl pregame show for an amazing performance of “America the Beautiful.” As they took the podium, the three impressive stars delivered a rousing performance, replete with tight harmonies and soaring vocals. And also with one notable addition. The singers earned a huge round  applause when they added the word “sisterhood” to the following line: “God shed his grace on thee/ And crown thy good with brotherhood/ From sea to shining sea!” Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda was among those to praise his former costars on social media, writing simply “AND SISTERHOOD.” But you can expect this change to elicit a different reaction from others on Twitter and various social media platforms. Goldsberry (who earned a Tony Award for her portrayl), Soo and Cephas Jones have all since left the already-iconic Broadway production. Check out their “America the Beautiful” performance below.
