Robert Pattinson is the Anti-Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is so uncomfortable with fame that she recently compared the paparazzi to rapists . Conversely, boyfriend Robert Pattinson is clearly enjoying his time in the spotlight. He’s not obnoxious about it at all, but in each interview Rob gives, he comes across as relaxed, jovial and simply amazed at what his life has become. Case in point: on Nightline last night, Pattinson joked that if he ever has kids and they want to go into acting, he’ll say: ‘Yeah, it’s great. You don’t have to do anything. Everything goes right.'” Asked about his mindset on fame, Robert could have been addressing Kristen directly when he said the key is to enjoy it, “rather than looking like it’s freaking you out and you want to leave.” It’s obvious Robert is following his own advice. See for yourself: Robert was also asked why the Twilight Saga is considered so sexy… even though Edward and Bella wait so long to have sex. That’s exactly the point, Rob replied: ”Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment before [sex]… the kind of tipping point before it goes over. I mean, everybody likes that. That’s the best part, for a relationship.” Yes, folks, Robert Pattinson just talked up the benefits of foreplay. As if it was possible for women around the world to love him anymore than they already do! Watch the entire interview below. Robert Pattinson on Nightline

Robert Pattinson Explains Sexiness Of ‘Twilight’ On ‘Nightline’

‘Eclipse’ star admits he took a Valium before auditioning for Catherine Hardwicke. By Gil Kaufman Robert Pattinson on “Nightline” Monday Photo: ABC For “Twilight” fans who felt there wasn’t enough Edward in “New Moon,” Robert Pattinson agrees . The actor said on “Nightline” Monday night, too, was frustrated at the spectral role his undead vampire hero played in the series’ second film, and that he’s excited to have a more robust presence in the upcoming third installment, “Eclipse.” “That was the most frustrating thing about the last one, I was just kind of straight on green screen, and I did it all in about two days at the end,” he said. In an era when the vampires of HBO’s “True Blood” get graphically involved with their human lovers, the chaste nature of the characters in Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” books has hooked a teen audience. But Pattinson — whose character insists that Edward and Bella must marry before consummating their love — thinks fans still enjoy the stories’ sexual tension. “If there was a hard and fast decision by both of them saying, ‘We’re going to remain virgins our entire life,’ it’s never going to happen,” he said. “I don’t think it would be a popular series. Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment, the kind of tipping point before it goes over. Everybody likes that. That’s the best part of a relationship.” And because auditions can be nerve-wracking, Pattinson admitted that he stole some Valium from a friend to calm his nerves before he auditioned for the first “Twilight” movie. “I knew it was going to be a long audition because I was doing a screen test and it was at the director’s house,” he said of his tryout for the first film with Catherine Hardwicke. “Twenty minutes before I had to leave, I suddenly started panicking. Luckily, the person I was staying with had enough Valium on their bedside table. I stole it. Probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.” Pattinson, 24, also admitted that the rush of instant success he’s had since “Twilight” became a worldwide phenomenon has made him question his mortality and good fortune. “I guess I just thought if too many good things happen, then you’re going to die at 30,” he said. “I was like, ‘I didn’t want that to happen.’ ” And when interviewer Chris Connelly noted that good things keep happening to him, Pattinson responded, “Yeah, so probably I’m going to die at 30. Actually, it’s God saying, ‘You shouldn’t have asked for too much.’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Kristen Stewart On Robert Pattinson’s Other Ideas For Best Kiss Award Acceptance Speech

‘He wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping,’ Stewart says of Pattinson’s alternate ideas for the MTV Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Without a doubt, one of the most talked-about moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s acceptance “speech” for winning the Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss. Fans loved the quick, awkward kiss Pattinson grabbed from Stewart onstage, but when MTV caught up with him backstage afterwards, he admitted that the stunt didn’t work out the way they’d planned. Apparently Pattinson had other ideas for ways the two “Twilight” stars could accept the award, so when MTV News caught up with Stewart at the press junket for “Eclipse,” we couldn’t resist asking her about them. “He did have some pretty funny ones,” she admitted. But when asked if she regretted not acting on any of Pattinson’s ideas, she responded, “No, no, definitely not. I’m really glad that we didn’t do his.” What was Pattinson’s best suggestion, you might ask? It seems as if he took a page right out of the book of his upcoming film “Water for Elephants” for this one. “He wanted to be hula hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other … it didn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me,” Stewart said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘I can’t juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.’ ” Stewart didn’t even make it to the stairs this year before she almost fell when she went up with Pattinson to accept the Best Kiss award. At least it was a bit more coordinated than last year’s Movie Awards, when Stewart dropped her Golden Popcorn statue for Best Female Performance during her acceptance speech. “What’s really funny is I really, really don’t try to do that stuff. I try to be [smooth]. This year especially, I was like, I’m just going to give them exactly what they want, I’m going to be totally cool, I’m going to thank everybody,” she said. “I got up there, and I was like, ‘Chris directed the movie, and he’s awesome. Thanks.’ And I had to get off, like that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Robert Pattinson ‘Glad’ Two-Part ‘Breaking Dawn’ Will Be Shot Back-To-Back

‘I think that would just be easier,’ Pattinson, who hasn’t yet read the final ‘Twilight Saga’ installment, admitted. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News With Summit Entertainment’s long-expected announcement that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be split into two films , “Twilight” fans breathed a collective sigh of “obviously.” But while the statement seemed to be released so it could coincide with Saturday’s “Eclipse” junkets, one member of the cast has reason to be opposed to Summit’s choice of timing: Robert Pattinson. Turns out the man also known as Spunk Ransom was forced to admit that he hasn’t had a chance to read the final installment of “The Twilight Saga” since it was released two years ago due to his busy schedule , which includes his upcoming role in “Ben Ami.” Since filming is expected to begin this fall for “Breaking Dawn,” sounds like Pattinson had better get reading. Pattinson was able to confirm, however, that “Breaking Dawn” will be following the path of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in having both of its films shot back-to-back. This bit of news was also expected but remained unconfirmed from Summit Entertainment’s press release last week. “I’m glad they’re shooting them together at least because I think that would just be easier, doing it all in one,” Pattinson admitted. Even though he hasn’t yet read the novel, Pattinson still knows a thing or two about the more talked-about “Breaking Dawn” moments. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz commented that some of the story’s big surprises have already been announced — like the fact that Bella Swan is going to be having a baby — and asked Pattinson what he felt about what “Breaking Dawn” had in store. “I think that’s going to be very funny,” he said about the birthing scene. “The only thing I know about it is the famous scene: the kind of cesarean scene … I do not envy Bill Condon to have to think of some way to do that.” Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Clips Related Photos Shot-By-Shot: ‘Eclipse’ Clip ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Robert Pattinson Says ‘Eclipse’ Is ‘Different,’ More ‘Serious’

‘They’re not, like, fantasy things. It’s like a horror film!’ RPattz teases of fight scenes. By Josh Wigler Robert Pattinson backstage at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News Many “Twilight” fans are expecting a darker film with more action, but plenty of romance between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her various supernatural suitors when “Eclipse” hits theaters on June 30. But “Twilight” enthusiasts who haven’t braced themselves for a different experience should consider themselves warned: Leading man Robert Pattinson revealed to MTV News that the threequel absolutely takes a more serious tone. “I’ve seen a very early cut,” Pattinson said at the . “It’s good. It’s different. It’s really different, like, it’s kind of serious.” Pattinson clarified that in the case of “Eclipse,” the words “different” and “serious” are good things, especially when it comes to the action sequences. “All the kinds of fight scenes that are in ‘New Moon,’ they’re, like, real fights now [in ‘Eclipse’],” he said. “They’re not, like, fantasy things. It’s like a horror film!” The horror label should come as no surprise considering that “30 Days of Night” director David Slade is responsible for “Eclipse.” And not to mention the fact that Peter Facinelli previously revealed that fans will see the “true vampire-ness” of his Carlisle Cullen and the rest of his fanged family, including the “dark, dangerous side” of Alice (Ashley Greene), as well as “a darker side” of Jasper (Jackson Rathbone). Another big tipoff to the film’s pitch can be found in the “Eclipse” footage we’ve already seen, like the action-packed teaser that premiered during the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. Having earned a PG-13 rating for “intense sequences of action and violence,” there’s no question that “Eclipse” will differ from previous “Twilight Saga” installments. The only question is, do you trust Pattinson’s declaration that “different” is a good thing? Are you looking forward to a darker “Twilight” film? Or do you want less action? ‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson Feels ‘Agile’ With New Haircut

‘You feel like you’ve got a six-pack already, as soon as you cut your hair,’ the MTV Movie Awards winner says. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News About a week before the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , Robert Pattinson — a multiple nominee for his role in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” — got some very stern, profanity-laced advice about his hair from Hollywood “mega mogul”/ dance machine Les Grossman. The producer warned the actor, who was considering a shave and a wash for his usual bed-head, not to do anything different to his shaggy mane. “Your filthy hair made you a star,” Grossman raged at RPattz . “Your filthy hair made me hundreds of millions of dollars!” But it seems Pattinson didn’t much care for Grossman’s two cents, as he showed up Sunday night sporting a clean, freshly cut new ‘do. When MTV News caught up with the “Twilight” heartthrob backstage, we had to ask the Movie Award winner whether he felt any different with his short hair. Specifically, whether he’d lost any superpowers — like the ability to incite uncontrollable screaming or to inspire inexplicable, cross-generational obsession from teens, tweens and housewives — since taking clippers to his famously untamed mane. “No,” Pattinson said, humbly denying any superhero capabilities. “I feel so much better, so much better … It’s like having, I don’t know, I feel like I’m wearing two wigs most of the time. So yeah, I feel like agile and stuff. You feel like you’ve got a six-pack already, as soon as you cut your hair.” Maybe he’s gearing up to give muscled-up “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner some competition in the abs department? What do you think of Rob’s new look? Team Edward fans: Are you loving his shorter hair? Let us know in the comments!
