It looks like the Jackson family drama may be coming to an end. Kind of. Sort of. But probably not. A day after she returned to her grandchildren in California, and a couple days after TJ Jackson was granted temporary custody of Prince, Paris and Blanket, Katherine Jackson has agreed to share legal guardianship of Michael’s three kids. A court filing is expectde to take place next week. “That pleading will essentially now legally reflect how Mrs. Jackson and TJ have often shared responsibilities of raising the children since Michael Jackson’s tragic passing,” Katherine’s attorney, Perry Sanders, tells TMZ. It looks like the agreement will lead to TJ taking on the daily care of his niece and two nephews – a responsibility that will include speaking with “school personnel and anyone else coming into contact with the children,” Perry explains – while Katherine will still control the family allowance. That figure, courtesy of Michael Jackson’s estate, sits at $70,000 per month. Concludes the lawyer: “Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael’s children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael’s children.”
Don Perry, a top level executive in the public relations department of Chick-fil-A, died today of a heart attack. Sad news for Perry’s family and friends no matter what the circumstance, but a noteworthy celebrity gossip story because that chain has come under major attack recently after its President came out against gay marriage. A store opening in California yesterday was met with protest and controversy . In recent weeks, Perry had spoke out on numerous occasions in defense of the company’s practices. “Don was a member of our Chick-fil-A family for nearly 29 years,” said Chick-fil-A in a statement. “He was a well-respected and well-liked media executive in the Atlanta and University of Georgia communities, and we will all miss him. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Jeremy Renner might not need any help with his performance in bed. But he might require assistance reading labels in the future. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, the actor told a story about how he once asked a friend for some sleep medication before a 10-hour flight from Los Angeles to London. An easy enough request, right? Not in this case. “I take a little sleeping pill, pop it and realize nothing’s happening,” The Bourne Legacy star said. “But something else was happening.” If you know what he means! Yes, folks, Renner was given Viagra instead of Ambien and the results kept a certain part of him WIDE AWAKE for almost the entire trip. Watch the star go into detail now:
Kristen Stewart has already apologized to the public for her makeout session with Rupert Sanders , much to the consternation and horror of Robert Pattinson . Now, an insider tells Radar Online, the actress is prepared to address Sanders’ wife directly. She is apparently writing a note to Liberty Ross . “Kristen didn’t feel it was appropriate to issue a public apology to Liberty once the story of her affair with Rupert broke,” the source says. “Instead, she’s going to do the decent thing and write Liberty a private letter expressing her deepest regret for her actions.” The mole goes on to say that Stewart only wanted to mention Pattinson in her initial statement because she’s “desperate to save” that relationship. But she feels “awful” for getting in between a man, a wife and his two children. For whatever it’s worth to either Ross or Pattinson, a reliable website claims Stewart and Sanders did NOT have sex . The Twilight world is reeling with the revelation that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders , confirmed in a public apology issued by Stewart today. Needless to say, people have questions. What was she thinking? What exactly is going on in those car photos? And, more importantly for the billion-dollar franchise sprouted from KStew and RPattz’s on- and rumored offscreen love: With The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 approaching theaters this November, having capitalized on Stewart and Pattinson’s recent displays of public PDA, how will the box office-boosting faithful react to the news of behind the scenes infidelity and betrayal? US Weekly ‘s expose on Stewart’s affair with the married Sanders (who cast his wife, model Liberty Ross, as Stewart’s mother in SWATH ) hits newsstands Friday, although damning photographs leaked early prompting Stewart’s admission on Wednesday. The steamy snaps of 22-year-old Stewart and her 41-year-old director were taken just days before Stewart made a fan-pleasing appearance at the Teen Choice Awards alongside Pattinson, with whom she reportedly shares a home. “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” Stewart said in an apology issued today . “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” 2008’s Twilight film rose to popularity on the strength of Stephenie Meyer’s book series fanbase, but the chemistry between Stewart and Pattinson gave Summit’s franchise-starter an offscreen hook that launched a record-breaking franchise. The heat between the two that sparked in Pattinson’s Twilight audition in director Catherine Hardwicke’s home became Twilight legend in itself; KStew and RPattz quickly became romantic icons for fans even before rumors swirled that they’d become involved, but in recent years they began to seemingly demonstrate their relationship, if neither officially acknowledged it in the press. Above: Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Sanders promoting Snow White and the Huntsman As their onscreen alter egos went from smitten classmates to wedded couple and beyond through four films, the pair’s real life coupling has become increasingly ingrained in the Twilight franchise’s popular and financial cache. Even if a relationship has never been officially confirmed, the suggestion of one has helped to propel the $2.4 billion Twilight franchise, not to mention the duo’s individual star power as Hollywood’s reigning teen idols. Twilight (2008) $392,616,625 worldwide The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) $709,827,462 worldwide The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) $698,491,347 worldwide The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2011) $705,058,657 worldwide Earlier this month at Comic-Con , fans glimpsed footage of Stewart and Pattinson in the series’ finale , Breaking Dawn Part 2 , which sees them married with a child . As they have at every stop along the way, fans have clamored over the idea of life imitating art, and Stewart’s Comic-Con comments embracing motherhood and marriage fed the publicity machine for the November release. But while the admission of cheating will shatter the illusion for some fans, many have rejected the reports as false, steadfastly supporting their stars (“Robsten is Unbroken” is trending on Twitter among those in denial). As the truth sinks in, will fans revolt? Also admittedly possible, for the skeptics out there: They were never dating to begin with, and this entire affair was staged. A way for Stewart to break out of the confines of her Twilight persona as she looks ahead in her acting career? In any case, Summit has a pickle ahead of them as they plot the PR campaign for Breaking Dawn , with Stewart, Pattinson, and Sanders sorting out their now very public private matters. While fans of the Twilight characters will surely return to theaters to see the final chapter of Bella and Edward’s story play out, the popular fantasy that made their story larger than life has been shattered; add to that the previously announced plans to reunite Stewart and Sanders on a sequel to Universal’s $381 million hit Snow White and the Huntsman , and an additional studio’s financial future is involved. Kristen Stewart. Robert Pattinson . Animal sex. Do we have your attention? At Comic-Con last week, Stewart addressed the lovemaking she and her real-life boyfriend do on screen in Breaking Dawn Part 2 , comparing it to the hot honeymoon action between Bella and Edward in the first film. “The ratings, man! [It’s] a tricky thing … because we’re supposed to have mind-boggling, otherworldly … sex,” Stewart said. “In the first one, ‘Breaking Dawn 1,’ we really … this is weird … tried to keep the first one sweet. It’s about self-discovery. Nothing about this series is raunchy. And I know that. … But in the second one, we just wanted to be animals.” Alas, there’s only so much skin and so many sounds you can make while keeping the flick PG-13. Sorry, Twihards.
Tom Cruise’s attorney, Bert Fields, demands that the National Enquirer and its parent company, American Media, retract its new cover story about the actor’s just- settled divorce from Katie Holmes or face a defamation complaint of epic proportions. Among other tawdry allegations, the magazine claims Cruise’s home was akin to a “house of horrors” and that his estranged wife, Holmes, lived a “tortured life” in a marriage that was a “living nightmare” in virtual lockdown for years. Fields absolutely went OFF on what he said was a “disgraceful and lurid cover with bogus, red and yellow headlines announcing one cruel lie after another about Mr. Cruise and his family” and went on to take them apart one by one: “Contrary to your headlines, Mr. Cruise has not engaged in any ‘abuse’ or ‘humiliation’ of Katie Holmes,” he wrote. “Nor has he ever subjected her to any punishments.” “It is also completely untrue that Mr. Cruise ever subjected his wife to relentless verbal abuse, emotional punishment, humiliation and intimidation.” “These are all egregious lies. He did none of these things.” Regarding the “house of horrors” charge, Fields called Cruise’s residence in Telluride, Colo., a “pleasant and loving home” for Tom, Katie and Suri Cruise. “Suri was not forced to stay for five months in a tiny windowless room,” he added, addressing another bogus allegation made by the tabloid. He also rejected a claim that a “so-called ‘expert'” told the Enquirer that Cruise “displays many of the symptoms of a man who beats up his wife.” Fields demanded an immediate retraction for “each and every one of the false assertions,” which could cause Cruise “hundreds of millions” in damages. Yesterday, a report leaked that Holmes secretly plotted her escape from Cruise with the use of burner phones; this article is entirely separate. UPDATE : The story, a copy of which was leaked to The Hollywood Reporter but has yet to be published in print, was never meant for publication or dissemination and won’t be released, according to the celebrity gossip tabloid. Short story: Do not eff with Tom Cruise.
Robert Pattinson weighed in on the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon today at Comic-Con … with an obvious reference to the erotic novel’s sexiness. When questioned during the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 panel, he and Kristen Stewart were mum on whether or not they’ve read the sex-filled bestseller. If presented with a copy, however, he knows just what he would do. “I would just sit there and lick the pages,” Pattinson said in San Diego, adding, “What are we live on?” realizing his response would gain attention. Stewart on the other hand, was less upbeat about the topic. When asked if she reads the novel in a book club with Pattinson and fellow Twilight star Taylor Lautner, she said simply, “That would be disgusting.” Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been mentioned as possible leads in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie , however unlikely that may seem. The risque text is loosely based on their Twilight characters; Pattinson and Stewart have also been dating in real life for several years at this point. While no mention of the pair’s off-screen romance came into question today, R-Patt did address the topic of smooching his on- and off-screen love. “She always just kissed me and I’d always be like …” Pattinson said, holding up his head and puckering his lips, while referring to winning best kiss with Stewart in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 at the recent MTV Movie Awards. “I just receive … I just receive pecks.” Good to know, R-Patt.
