For Your Information: Research Shows That 34% Of Black Males In Alabama Have Lost Their Right To Vote PERMANENTLY!!

Holy isht… 34% Of Black Males In Alabama No Longer Have The Right To Vote Via YourBlackWorld The devastation of mass incarceration cannot ever truly be measured, considering how far its tentacles stretch. There are the children of prisoners, who grow up fatherless or motherless, the devastation of living a life behind bars, and the diminishing number of suitable male companions in the African American community, which impacts the black family. But also, voting laws which disenfranchise people who’ve been convicted of a crime are now being viewed as just another tool voter suppression. In an article titled, Mass Incarceration and White Supremancy, Al Jazeera quotes Bryan Stevenson, Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) on the impact mass incarceration is having on society: Mass incarceration, he argues, has radically changed society. He speaks of urban communities, like Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Washington, where 50 percent of young black men are in prison, on parole or probation and where the disenfranchisement of convicted felons “has horrific implications for the political aspirations of people of colour.” In Alabama, Stevenson said, 34 per cent of black men have permanently lost the right to vote and within the next 10 years the level of disenfranchisement will be higher than it has been since passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Stevenson also discusses how welfare reform devastated the black family: Stevenson points to the consequences of the 1996 Welfare Reform Law which denied drug offenders eligibility for public housing, food stamps and other benefits, and that has had a disastrous impact on black women and children.Black women comprise half of the female prison population, although they are only 12 percent of the total population. Between 1986 and 1991the number of black women incarcerated for drug offences soared by 828 percent. 34% is an alarmingly high number of black men who cannot participate in the political process. What’s even more sad is that the number of black men incarcerated seems to be increasing each year and the problem may only get worse if we don’t make significant changes in our communities to prevent crimes that are taking our young brothers away from being productive members of society. Gaga in the Tub of the Day

I got excited when I first saw these pics of Gaga cuz I thought the welts on her back were AIDS lesions….meaning the end is fucking near…I saw Philadelphia – I know how these immune disorders that target the gay, tranny, black, and elderly population work…..but then I realized that Gaga is probably not needle sharing, and likely only fucking herself, because despite being rich and famous, she’s the only thing that could love her enough to do that to themselves…that face is a nightmare….then I did some research and thought maybe it was blood cancer…or really anything terminal…and remembered she has LUPUS….which is pretty much AIDS the Opposite version….kinda like she’s ART the opposite version….so here I am all happy the world is gonna be rid by an evil….thanks to nature taking its course and doing what’s right….but then I read the caption…and she just got hot cupping….which is unlike 2 girl 1 cupping….but more like a massage or spa treatment to rid your body of evil toxins and that was a real fucking bummer…but not as much of a bummer as being invited into GAGA’s bath in the first place….

Liam Hemsworth Beatdown: Caught on Tape!

Liam Hemsworth made sure the odds were in his favor early Sunday morning. Upon exiting a Philadelphia bar, the fiancé of Miley Cyrus confronted a man he believed had thrown a rock at him and a friend. As captured on video by TMZ, Hemsworth and his pal proceeded to give this alleged assailant a major beatdown, with Liam punching him in the face and shoving his head toward the concrete. The police soon arrived and cleared the scene, with no arrests made. According to Philadelphia police, no charges have been filed yet, perhaps because the victim thinks he fought to a draw. “I don’t think [Liam] fared much better,” he told TMZ, despite clear evidence to the contrary. Witnesses at the scene say they did not see anyone throw a rock. Neither Hemsworth, meanwhile, nor anyone from his camp has commented on the incident.

Brandi Glanville on Adrienne Maloof Feud: I Pissed Off the Wrong Rich Person!

Brandi Glanville knows how to ruffle feathers, but even she admits she crossed the line and may have picked the wrong enemy in Adrienne Maloof. The reality star admits she was out of bounds Monday on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she teased how she knew a huge Maloof family “bombshell.” Not usually one to recant her words, Brandi admitted she made the wrong move with Adrienne, who alluded to a potential lawsuit after Brandi’s comments. “I said something I shouldn’t have said and I am sorry and I now regret it ,” Brandi wrote. “I know, it’s shocking right? My mouth gets me in a lot of trouble. “This time I’ve pissed off the wrong rich person.” “It is so frustrating when Adrienne or her people say something about me that isn’t true or discuss me as a parent, I think she has met my kids one time.” “Normally I would laugh it off. I mean I’ve had my fair share of negative stories written about me. But when the lies involve my children, like any mother, ALL BETS ARE OFF! “No one is perfect,” Brandi Glanville said. “We all make mistakes, and if I could take this back I would. Trust me! I can’t, so now I just have to deal.” “Boy is it going to be expensive!” Brandi, whose feud with LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian has become legendary, said her tension with Adrienne Maloof had “been boiling for some time.” Monday’s show marked its’ “breaking point” in her eyes. As for Paul Nassif’s reaction – calling Brandi “that b*tch” – she said she understood “he was just defending his wife’s honor” before taking a shot at Adrienne again. “I don’t think even [he] was aware (at the time) of how underhanded she could be,” Brandi wrote of Adrienne, who is now estranged from Paul in a contentious divorce. Brandi said in a tweet that aired after the show that events with Adrienne came “after the reunion & off camera so its hard to see why Im so upset with her!”

“Generation Next: Uncovered” Documentary Deals With Youth Educating Themselves About Sex And Dealing With HIV [Video]

In the interest of AIDS/HIV prevention we thought it was important to share this documentary which gives a face to youth HIV and offers some perspective on sexual health. If you watch the video, you’ll learn that one of the main faces is a young man who has been living with the virus his entire life. Here’s his story as told to Black Voices… Via Huff Po : It’s never easy to tell the story. Even though I’m so familiar with it and I’m so used to telling it, it’s always harder each time. I’ve been positive for the past 26 years. I was infected at birth from my mother who contracted it from my father, who was using drugs at the time. She didn’t know until she gave birth [that she had HIV], and I didn’t find out I was positive until I was 13, which was a couple of months after my mom passed away in September of ‘99. I have a younger sister and a couple of brothers on my father’s side … none of them are HIV positive, thankfully. This is just one of those things. When I found out, I was still young so it was more so going to the doctor and your parents telling you you’re sick and you have to take medication in order to feel better — that’s pretty much what it was. It was like, “You have to take these pills everyday and it’ll make you get better and give you longer life.” There was a point in time when I felt like I didn’t need to take the medication anymore; I didn’t want to. My mother had just passed and my regimen switched a lot of times. I was even hospitalized a couple of times. The size of the pills played a part in it, because there was one pill I used to take and it was huge. I couldn’t stand how big it was or the smell of it, and it wasn’t just me — a lot of kids that I knew who were also positive complained about the same thing. There’s always something that kind of blocks you and stops you from doing the right thing and those were the things that had me not want to take the medication. But as I started to get more aware of what HIV is, I began to keep taking my regimen very seriously because I knew that each time I missed a dose, it was taking life away from me and I can’t afford that. Now it’s just four pills once a day. And thank God, my regimen has been pretty slim. I know a lot of kids who I mentor who are taking six to eighteen pills maybe once or twice a day — that’s a lot of pills. I also don’t really get any side effects with the medication I’m taking now, because once you get in the habit of taking it, the side effects kind of wear off. And I kind of got smart — I take my medication at night, that way I’ll sleep off any side effects. At the time, I had no idea what HIV was, but I used to hear about it from my peers. As I started to get older, I started to hear more negative words and stories about it and what it does to you and how you should look if you had it. Knowing that I had it, I couldn’t tell anyone because I was embarrassed, one; two, I was afraid of being cast out; three, I just didn’t have any type of education about it. And I was already experimenting with sex at a very young age — I started having sex when I was like 12 — so it was scary. It was like, do I tell these girls that I’m having sex with that I’m HIV positive or do I not? I didn’t tell. It was like, “What is the point? I’m using protection, so why do I have to tell them?” That was my thought process back then. I remember a point in time when I was angry at my mother and it hurt so bad because it was my mother and I never thought she could do wrong; she never hid anything from me. But to keep something so large like this from me? And for my father to do drugs at that time and didn’t know? I felt like it was careless behavior on both parts and it messed up a life. My father is still in prison, my mother is no longer here; this is something that’s passed down, something I didn’t ask for. I didn’t have a choice. I was really angry. I feel like anger is definitely something that needs to happen though, because it motivates you. I took that anger and I turned it into something positive. As I started to get older and started experimenting with more sex, I’m like, “Alright, you know what, I have to chill. I have to really educate myself about it.” It wasn’t just an easy step, it took years for me to get comfortable living with HIV, loving myself more and knowing what my purpose was here on this earth, and that was to share my story with as many people as possible. It was a rough time. I went to Philadelphia FIGHT and my got certification in HIV and AIDS peer education. That program is called Project Teach … you have to be HIV positive to be a part of the program … they educate us like bookwork … whether it was HIV 101; going into how HIV works in your body; how it lays dormant; what changes happen; how rapidly it changes in your body; what are the ins and outs as far as having HIV; side effects; what the medication does to your body on the inside; how [HIV] really conspires in someone’s body and how people get it. It was literally like going to school and getting a degree. That helped me out a lot; it educated me a lot. Here I am, HIV positive and not knowing anything about it.

Chris Wilcox Fined For Flipping Off Kiss Cam

Chris Wilcox is apparently not a big fan of the “Kiss Cam.” After seeing himself on the scoreboard as part of pro sports’ ubiquitous mid-timeout entertainment traditon, the Boston Celtics reserve big man made his displeasure clear. By flipping off the camera and 18,000 fans watching. Wilcox was serenaded by boos and received an earful from an assistant coach moments after the gesture, which occurred inside Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Reactions ranged from laugher to abject horror. He was ultimately fined $25,000 “for making an obscene gesture directed toward fans during a game.” Sadly, Wilcox’s bird-flipping took place during a stoppage in play, so TV outlets didn’t catch it, and thus far, no grainy iPhone videos of the scoreboard have emerged. If you have one, post a link below! Other great Kiss Cam moments of 2012: President and Mrs. Obama singled out at the Olympics. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez smooching in L.A.
