We doubt Grande is serious about swearing off men forever, but it’s easy to understand where she’s coming from. As loyal celebrity gossip fans likely know very well, this has been a very tumultuous year for the singer on the personal front. Back in September, Grande’s ex-boyfriend of two years, Mac Miller, died of a drug overdose . Not only did Ariana have to deal with the painful personal feelings associated with this loss, she also had to deal with awful Internet trolls actually blaming her for Miller’s death. These insensitive morons tried to argue that Grande ending the couple’s romance drove Miller (a long-time addict) deep into despair — and, consequently, heavy drug use. Grande, as you are also very likely aware, got engaged to Pete Davidson this fall… after mere weeks of dating the comedian. The stars then called off said engagement mere weeks later and spent several days shading each other online. This tragically contributed to Davidson threatening to kill himself and Grande once again needing to turn off her Instagram comments due to all the hate spewed in her direction. So, yeah. We totally get why she isn’t anxious to get out there and mingle with other single people right now. “I want to say that I find it interesting that this has been one of the best years of my career and the worst of my life,” Ariana said in December , adding while accepting the Woman of the Year award at Billboard’s Women in Music event: “But as far as my personal life goes. I really have no idea what the f-ck I’m doing… “I just want to say if you’re someone out there who has no idea what this next chapter’s gonna bring, you’re not alone in that.” Amen, Ariana. Sigh. We had hoped that Samantha Markle would be one of those unfortunate trends we would be able to leave behind in 2018, like that stupid “flossing” dance, or talk of building the Wall. But alas Scammy Sammy is still clinging to relevancy in the new year. As you’re probably aware, Samantha is Meghan Markle’s awful half-sister . Meg’s story has been described as a fairytale, and unfortunately, it comes complete with bitter partial-sibling antagonists worthy of Cinderella. Samantha and her brother Thomas Markle Jr. have made it their life’s work to humiliate Meghan and cash in on her fame. Thankfully, they’ve been largely unsuccessful and have really only succeeded in humiliating themselves. Samantha’s most recent embarrassment was being deemed a “fixated person” and placed on a Scotland Yard watch list due to her worsening obsession with her half-sister. Sane people would take that as an indication that it’s time to back off and dedicate your time to something other than becoming the world’s most infamous stalker. But as she’s demonstrated many times, Samantha is anything but sane. Speaking to the UK’s Daily Star (London tabloids are the only ones who will give her the time of day at this point), Sam offered these thoughts about ways in which Meghan can improve herself in the year to come: “Your New Year’s resolution should be to be honest and pay tribute to those who have helped you the most such as your dad,” Samantha said. “Thank him for your college education, your career, building every stage you set foot on, but really appreciate the people that care about you. “So many people around the world don’t have anyone who cares about them and hopefully you will count your blessings and reflect moving forward in the new year and pay that gratitude forward to your children so that they also thank you.” she continued. “It all comes full circle… it started with dad, and you can carry on the legacy,” Sam prattled on. “And of course, I would add to eat more chocolate to sweeten your disposition for the new year.” “Tiresome” doesn’t even begin to describe Sam’s ramblings at this point. “You owe everything to your family!” is such a bitter less-successful sibling argument that it’s impossible to imagine she’s unaware of how pathetic she comes off here. That said, “eat more chocolate” is a solid resolution we can definitely get behind. Of course, when it comes to sweetening one’s disposition, Sam could very much benefit from following her own advice. Just sayin’. Houston is still reeling after a 7-year-old girl was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting on Sunday. Now a journalist and civil rights attorney are teaming up to offer a reward for her killer. Journalist Shaun King and civil rights attorney Lee Merritt have come together to offer a $35,000 reward to find the man who shot and killed Jazmine Barnes Sunday. Barnes was with her mother and siblings on Sunday when her mother, LaPortia Washington , had taken them to the store to get coffee when a man in a 4-door red pickup truck pulled alongside them and opened fire. Barnes died at the scene. Her mother has been hospitalized since the shooting. The shooter is described as a white male in his 40s, with a beard. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. In a year loaded with awful people, we'd like to make the case for David Eason as the Very Worst Person of 2018. We know there are people who did far more damage over the course of the past 12 months, but most of them have accrued a fair bit of power and influence over the course of their lives. David has taken great strides toward making the world a worse place this year, despite having no money of his own and being one divorce filing away from total obscurity. It's impressive in a deeply depressing/infuriating sort of way. And now, David is closing out 2018 with more of the bigoted nonsense he's been spewing all year. Take a look: 1. Dave the Douche David has been awful for as long as we’ve known about him. But he hit new lows in 2018. 2. Multiple Rock Bottoms Eason effed up so consistently and colossally in 2018 that it’s impossible to choose a single low point. 3. Not the Brightest Bulb Of course, David’s shock at receiving a visit from the Secret Service after issuing violent threats toward the president and other elected officials springs immediately to mind. 4. Outdoing Himself But in these final weeks of 2018, David has been finding new and innovative ways to prove to the world he’s truly a waste of oxygen. 5. A Man Without a Platform Once he got booted off Instagram for that pesky “threatening to kill the president” kerfuffle, David began trying to make a name for himself on Facebook and YouTube. 6. How Does He Do It? This led to brand new kinds of bad decisions, such as when David decided to film himself illegally towing a stranger’s truck. View Slideshow
It’s a rare and beautiful thing for a wedding story to go viral where neither the bride nor groom were the villain. A bride is left wondering if she’s the bad guy after giving a couple of wedding guests the boot. They had attended her child-free wedding with both of their children, but the bride worries that she went too far. Most of Reddit is a cesspool — like YouTube comments without the video. But just like comments sections, the site does hold some real gems. A bride took to a Reddit page known as AITA — for Am I the Assh–e? — over guilty feelings from her wedding. No, she didn’t cheat. She wasn’t, as far as we can tell, a bridezilla. She hosted a firmly child-free wedding. When a couple of people who were invited brought their children with them anyway, however, she asked the family to leave. Here is the story of the woman who wants to know if she’s the villain of this story. The bride explains that all of her wedding invitations made it very clear that her wedding would be child-free. There are many good reasons for a child-free wedding, from expense to atmosphere to the hours of the reception. The sole exception to her ban was the children who would take part in the wedding party. Even those children were to be picked up before the reception started. Two of the guests were longtime friends of the bride’s family. She said that she did not know them particularly well, but felt an obligation to invite them. It happens. Weddings are big events and no one wants to be snubbed. Unfortunately, these two apparently felt that the child-free rule expressed on the invitation did not apply to them. They brought with them their infant and their toddler. The bride tells Reddit that she just ignored the flagrant breach during the wedding ceremony. It was her special day and, though the infant was fussy during the exchange of vows, she didn’t want to make a big deal of it. Then, however, came the reception. The couple brought their children to the event at which even the children who had been part of the wedding were not present. This was when the bride knew that she had to take action. She sent her wedding planner over to politely ask the couple when their children would be picked up. That should have been the end of it — but it was not. It is worth noting that, at this point, the couple’s very young children were growing cranky. The wedding-planner’s helpful hint should have been enough to resolve the issue with minimal embarrassment. Instead, the couple decided to argue with the wedding-planner. Apparently it was so bad that the bride herself felt the need to personally step in, on her actual wedding day. The “family friend” then told the bride that the couple didn’t need anyone to pick up their kids because they could look after them themselves. That was absolutely never the point. Finally, the bride simply told the couple that they needed to leave. The bride asked the denizens of Reddit what they thought of her, and she got her answer. The story went viral because so many people sided with her. Some, including members of her own family, felt that she should have continued to suffer in silence while these two nightmare guests flouted the rules. Those people are wrong. While there are child-free weddings who make exceptions for infants who are still nursing or for families facing certain hardships, you have to get permission first. Cynthia is preparing to send Noelle to Howard University, and both women are nervous wrecks because this will be the first thing Noelle has ever done without dear mama. However, Cynthia is proud of her baby girl and is planning to celebrate. The scene is Lake Bailey, and we’re in the middle of Noelle’s send-off party. Unfortunately, Noelle refuses to come downstairs and has a breakdown where she tearfully explains to her mother that she can’t go and wants the guests who are already there to go home. Mama Bear Cynthia comforts her girl and assures her that everything will be alright. Hold that thought. In other news, Todd and Mama Joyce aren’t on good terms, which sucks because they had made so much progress. Basically, Mama Joyce made a comment in an interview, that Kandi took Todd from lemons to lemonade, and Todd hasn’t taken too kindly to that because he feels it’s an insult. Mama Joyce says she meant it as a compliment but we all know how shady she can be. So now it’s up to Kandi to try to get them to be cool again. Kandi would like her mom to apologize and Mama Joyce has agreed. We’re nervous about how this goes but let’s fast forward a bit. Mama Joyce and Todd have their discussion and it actually goes well. Looks like all is well in Kandi Land again. Porsha has a major moment as she learns that her pregnancy is viable. You know she has been worried about this pregnancy due to having had prior miscarriages and her fibroid situation, but she finally has her first prenatal doctor’s appointment. It looks like everything is going well, but the only bummer for Porsha is that she will have to have a c-section due to having a myomectomy . Now we fast forward a bit and we’re back to Cynthia. She successfully convinces Noelle to go to Howard and they end up spending a weekend getting her settled into her new dorm. Luckily for Noelle, her roommate situation fell through so she has a room all to herself. Finally, the episode winds down with Cynthia and Leon sending Noelle back to campus, alone in an Uber, after a nice dinner. Noelle is still nervous but ready to level up. Next week it’s Kandi vs. Porsha again and it’s going to get heated, heated .
