Jesse James Says He ‘Threw Away’ A ‘Pretty Amazing Life’

‘She’s going to be hurt for a long time,’ he says of his divorce from Sandra Bullock. By Jocelyn Vena Jesse James and Sandra Bullock Photo: Jordan Strauss/ WireImage After months of speculation about his affairs and the eventual end of his marriage to Oscar winner Sandra Bullock , Jesse James sat down with “Nightline” on Tuesday night to try to clear the air. “I think out of everything, this is why I’m doing this interview the most, because you know, dealing with losing my marriage and my son and embarrassing everyone and decimating my life, but to be called a racist on top of that is … it makes me really sad,” James said, referring to photos of him dressed in Nazi regalia that were leaked shortly after it was learned he had cheated on Bullock. “I could tell by the look on my face it was a joke that was funny then, probably for a minute, but then looking at it in the context of now and in my life, it’s not funny,” he said of the photo. “There’s not a racist bone in my body.” In fact, James says that when he and Bullock were in the process of adopting a child, a son that Bullock would later adopt on her own , he says he “didn’t care what color” the baby was. And he says that seeing Bullock now with Louie, he is excited for her. “To see her in the role as mother is, like, one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. She is like a fish to water. … As soon as she put that baby into her hands it was automatic and amazing,” James said. “I found a new trust for her, like I knew she wasn’t going to leave, and our relationship blossomed.” But shortly after they met baby Louie, women began admitting to having affairs with James. “I took a pretty amazing life and amazing success and marriage … and threw it away by my own hands,” he said. “I’ve spent my whole life with the kids and with her trying to … protect her from everything, but the most hurt she’s ever been caused is by the person that wanted to protect her. It’s terrible, and she’s going to be hurt for a long time.” He says that Bullock had suspected something was wrong in the past, but he had tried to convince her otherwise. “I think she’s had her suspicions in the past, but, you know, I lied and lied my way out of it,” he said. “I lied to everyone about everything, even to myself. “When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible. And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught,” he continued. “I know for a fact now what it was, you know. I mean, it was me trying to self-sabotage my life.” James eventually owned up to the affairs and went to rehab for sex addiction and anger issues . It was a decision that Bullock supported. “I just told her I was going to get some help and I wanted to make sure she would take care of [his daughter] Sunny,” James said. He added that Bullock was “proud” of him.

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley To Replace Megan Fox In ‘Transformers 3’

Victoria’s Secret model is relative newcomer to acting. By Adam Rosenberg Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Photo: Todd Williamson/ WireImage With Megan Fox out of “Transformers 3” and actors already showing up on set , it’s getting down to crunch time for director Michael Bay, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Paramount to find a replacement female lead. The news today is that they appear to have found one. Deadline Hollywood reported Tuesday afternoon that the search had narrowed to three candidates: Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, actress and former fashion model Sarah Wright and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Brooklyn Decker. Huntington-Whiteley was named the front-runner in the original report, and a later update revealed that she had been chosen. Unlike Wright and Decker, who between them have a number of film and television credits, Huntington-Whiteley is a relative newcomer. She’s been modeling since 2003, for a range of names that include Abercrombie & Fitch, Clinique, DKNY and Ralph Lauren. Huntington-Whiteley has been working with Victoria’s Secret since 2006; it is likely that she made Bay’s short list because of his work on ad campaigns for the lingerie brand. Huntington-Whiteley’s name first came up as a possibility last week in a report from GeekWeek . Neither Wright nor Decker were named in the earlier story; GeekWeek simply wrote, “Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will soon be cast to replace Megan Fox.” Deadline further reports that Bay still has a week before he needs to finalize his pick. Star Shia LaBeouf shoots his first scenes with the female lead in two weeks and the production will continue through the summer. “Transformers 3” is scheduled for a July 2011 release. B.o.B’s ‘Nothin’ On You’ Came Together ‘Magically,’ Smeezingtons Say

‘We’re melody guys, we sing,’ Phillip Lawrence says of production trio, which includes Bruno Mars. By Jayson Rodriguez Photo: MTV News The making of B.o.B’s breakout hit “Nothin’ on You” was a group effort, according to the song’s producers. Bruno Mars , who is featured on the track, said he and his production partners, Phillip Lawrence and Ari Levine — together they comprise the Smeezingtons — collectively pieced together the music that would eventually top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Me and Phil always had that hook,” Mars told MTV News, spontaneously breaking out into the chorus that is helping to make him one of music’s buzzed-about names. “It was a different melody at first, though,” Lawrence added. “So one day our other partner — the Silent Bob of the Smeezingtons — Ari, he walked into the studio and said he programmed the drums [over],” Mars explained. “It had this old-school hip-hop beat. I said, ‘Gimme the piano,’ and that was the first thing I started playing. Magically, that melody worked with this track we were doing.” The result, of course, was “Nothin’ on You,” which landed atop the charts this year and has become an early contender for song of the summer. Now, the production trio’s services are increasingly in demand. Among the artists they’re hoping to get in the studio with is Keri Hilson, who’ll be prepping her next album. Apart from B.o.B, the Smeezingtons also recently worked with Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo on Mars’ debut EP, It’s Better If You Don’t Understand, and are hoping to get back in the lab with him. (“He’s incredible,” Mars said of Cee-Lo.) And their remix of K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” has been selected as the Coca-Cola anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Smeezingtons intend to apply the same principles that have brought them success so far to future projects, including Bruno Mars’ forthcoming full-length debut. “We’re melody guys, we sing,” Lawrence explained of their sound. “That’s kind of our main focus, to have really good, memorable melodies. We’ll go into the studio, and [Mars will] start playing the piano and I’ll start freestyling or vice versa. We’re heavily influenced by the ’80s [sound].” Are you looking forward to new material from the Smeezingtons? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists B.o.B

Big Boi’s ‘Action-Packed’ Solo Album Features T.I., B.o.B, Andre 3000

Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty is due July 6. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by James “FLX” Smith Big Boi Photo: MTV News Big Boi has no shortage of friends, so it’s only right that on his forthcoming solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, the Outkast MC will be joined by a slew of guests. “The album is action-packed,” Big Boi told MTV News from the Atlanta set of his video for “Shutterbug.” “On the album, I got Andre 3000, B.o.B, T.I., Jamie Foxx.” On the production side, Scott Storch (who helmed “Shutterbug”), Salaam Remi (Nas, Fugees), Organize Noise, the rapper’s own Boom Boom Room producers and Boi-1da (perhaps best known for his work on Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”) will contribute to the set. Last month, Big Boi revealed that his Outkast rhyming partner, Andre 3000, would appear on three tracks , including one Andre produced. “It’s me and Stacks, two verses apiece, back to back, lyrical manslaughter,” Big Boi said of the latter collaboration. “Who’s better than the ‘Kast? Nobody.” Big Boi has kept quiet about most of 3000’s contributions, save for “Royal Flush,” which hit the Net in 2008. “I can’t speak on a whole lot of Outkast stuff, ’cause me and Dre got a top-secret agreement going on,” he said. “We won’t tell you nothing until it’s time to know. Y’all go get these solo albums first, how about that?” Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty is tentatively scheduled for a July 6 release on Def Jam Records. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Cast Negotiations Hit A Snag On Two-Film Deal

Sources say Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and others want raises if ‘Twilight’ film is split in two. By Adam Rosenberg Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz Photo: Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images As “Twilight” super-fans prepare to buy tickets to “Eclipse” when they go on sale this Thursday, Summit Entertainment is reportedly caught up in a little vampire skirmish of its own during negotiations for making the saga’s final chapter, “Breaking Dawn,” into two films. The latest hold-up for the production, which was only recently confirmed for a November 18, 2011 release , is said to stem from salary disputes with several key players in the supporting cast. The Hollywood Reporter ‘s THR Esq. blog reports that the actors who play the Cullen kids, “especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene,” are angling for more money. The major names associated with the series are all contractually bound to stay on through “Breaking Dawn,” but new deals are required if the studio splits the story into two movies. At least two actors’ deals are confirmed: Peter Facinelli, who plays Cullen patriarch Carlisle, and Billy Burke, who plays Bella’s father Charlie. Franchise stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are all in the final stages of securing their deals, which will reportedly grant each of them a big pay bump. Recently confirmed director Bill Condon is locked for two movies, to be shot back-to-back, with the two-part release scheduled for November 2011 and summer 2012. Most troublingly for fans, one source states that drastic measures may be taken if agreements with the supporting cast aren’t reached soon. “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” said one unnamed person with close ties to the process. For the most part, fans have accepted a cast change for vampire villain Victoria (from Rachelle Lefevre in the first two films to Bryce Dallas Howard in “Eclipse”). But would they be as willing to imagine a “Twilight” world without Ashley Greene or Kellan Lutz? The issue on Summit’s side is purely financial. “Twilight” rolled out into theaters as an indie adaptation of a popular young adult novel; compare this to “Harry Potter,” which was already a blockbuster in the literary world by the time movie adaptation talk started to surface. As the vampire franchise has grown larger, budgets have increased. Supporting stars like Lutz and Greene are very much in demand, so their push for a bigger payday is understandable. Summit has a number of options. The studio could, as stated above, simply throw an actor “out on the street to make a point,” as it did with Lefevre and Howard . The studio could also scale things back and put out “Breaking Dawn” as a single movie. This seems less likely, given the length of the book and the inherent moneymaking opportunity in releasing two popular films instead of just one. Summit is also looking into moving the production. The three previous “Twilight” efforts were shot in Vancouver; the location could change to Louisiana for “Breaking Dawn,” to take advantage of the tax credits that state offers. We hope it doesn’t come to this, but which would you rather see: “Breaking Dawn” as one film with the current cast, or two films with new actors taking over the Cullen roles? Sound off in the comments. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . M.I.A. ‘Born Free’ Video Kid Says Clip ‘Shows Violence To End Violence’

Ian Hamrick adds, ‘M.I.A. was a sweetheart.’ By James Montgomery Ian Hamrick in M.I.A.’s video for “Born Free” Photo: Interscope Toward the end of M.I.A.’s incendiary “Born Free” video , there’s a horrifying slow-motion scene in which 12-year-old Ian Hamrick — one of the redheaded “minorities” rounded up by armed police officers — is shot in the head, then collapses to the ground as blood spurts from the wound. Not surprisingly, Hamrick’s parents weren’t too excited when he was first cast in the video (his dad is a retired cop), but he persisted and eventually they allowed him to take part. And for the young actor, it was actually an opportunity to make a powerful statement. Because, as he revealed to TMZ he’s pretty deep for a 12 year old. “I think she was trying to show violence to end violence,” Hamrick told the site Thursday. “The video is definitely not for kids — I haven’t even seen the full video myself — but for all the adults and people in different countries who are doing that in real life … doing the genocides to whatever: Italians, Africans, wherever it’s from, it’s still genocide. So it’s showing violence to end violence.” Hamrick also told TMZ that he had met with the production team behind “Born Free” before signing on for the video, and was well aware of the grisly storyline. He also wants it to be known that “M.I.A. was a sweetheart.” In the meantime, debate continues to rage over the content of the video, which, while not entirely “banned” from YouTube has been carefully hidden by YouTube’s staff after enough viewers flagged the clip for objectionable content. According to a report on Wired.com which cites a spokesperson for the site as saying that, while YouTube didn’t pull the video, it did place it behind an age-restriction click through, rendering it impossible to find unless you already know the URL. What do you think of M.I.A.’s “Born Free” video? Be warned: it’s extremely violent. Related Artists M.I.A.

New Clip Proves Jonah Hex May Actually Come Out on Time

Who knows what WB is doing with Jonah Hex ? From the very beginning, this summer movie has had so many strikes against it (it’s a Western, it has an unproven box office draw in Josh Brolin, the lead character is unattractively scarred, the director has never made a live-action film before, another director was hired for reshoots) that it’s a miracle it got made at all, let alone with a sizable budget. Still, for a movie coming out June 18, it’s more than a little bizarre that the studio waited this long to release anything related to it, be it a trailer or even stills from the production.
