Exclusive: Drake Did ‘Nothing Wrong’ In Club Brawl, Birdman Says

‘He’s not a reckless guy out there just wildin’ out,’ Cash Money CEO tells MTV News after Drizzy’s altercation with Chris Brown. By Rob Markman Birdman in Atlanta on Friday Photo: ATLANTA — No matter the drama, Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams is riding with his artists. Never one to indulge in rap beef, on Friday (June 15) during an interview with MTV News, Stunna made it clear that he is in full support of Drake in the aftermath of Wednesday night’s brawl in a New York City nightclub that involved Chris Brown and members of their respective crews. “Well, to me, I think n—as got Drake twisted. A lot of n—as be playin’, pitty-pattin’ with Drake. I don’t like that sh–, period,” Birdman said to us in an exclusive interview. “Drake is one of us, so if you f—in’ with Drake, you f—in’ with us, period!” Birdman wasn’t in attendance when the fight broke out at W.I.P. in NYC, but firmly believes the Take Care MC did nothing wrong. Drake alleges he wasn’t involved in the melee, which left a number of people injured including one of Brown’s bodyguards and NBA player Tony Parker. “To me, Drizzy ain’t did nothin’ wrong, he ain’t done nothin’ wrong to nobody. He just doin’ great music,” Bird said in defense of his artist. “He’s not a reckless guy out there just wildin’ out; he’s a humble kid makin’ great music.” Drake Vows To Outdo Summer Jam At New York Show It’s no secret that the #1 Stunna is about his money, and to him, beef is bad for business. “We never been a brand to carry ourselves in any foul manner. None of us, none of the acts,” he said of his Cash Money roster. “We’ve been doin’ this, we want to do this for another 20 years.” Still, the CM CEO understands how quickly things can get out of hand. He recalls a time where shootings weren’t uncommon between warring factions but now sees those types of altercations as a thing of the past. “It’s a different era, and we don’t promote that, we’re not about that, but I think sometimes sh– get outta hand, and you just gotta be ready for it,” he said. “We did enough of that, so these n—as ain’t got to do it.” On Saturday (June 16), rumors of an imminent Drake arrest were circulating on the Net but an NYPD official confirmed to MTV News that were “no arrests” looming, adding that an “investigation is ongoing.” Related Artists Birdman Drake Chris Brown

White House Correspondents Dinner: President Obama Mocks Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Himself

With political, media and entertainment A-listers in attendance, President Obama wasted no time bringing the laughs at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The annual event last night gave Obama a chance to lighten the mood in a heated election year, though presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney still a target. “It’s nice to be here in the nice, vast Hilton ballroom. Or as Mitt Romney would call it, a fixer-upper,” Obama said of his rival, who is often labeled elitist. President Obama White House Correspondents Dinner Speech 2012 “We both have degrees from Harvard,” he said, noting that the politicians do have some things in common. “I have one, he has two … what a snob!” Obama got plenty of mileage out of the “dog wars” between the respective camps, running an entire fake ad from the WOOF-PAC in “support” of Mitt. Nor could the president resist poking fun at another one-time “rival.” Referencing his address at the 2011 dinner, where he bashed Donald Trump repeatedly just hours before Osama bin Laden was killed, Obama said that one year ago, he had “finally delivered justice to one of the world’s most notorious individuals.” A photo of Trump was prominently displayed in the background. The president also joked about Sarah Palin, Joe Biden’s verbal gaffes and Hillary Clinton texting him drunk, but saved plenty of verbal barbs for himself. Obama referenced his low poll numbers, the fact that he ate a dog as a child in Indonesia, and allegations that he wasn’t born in the U.S. (again). He then rattled off a list of some of the shortcomings of his first three years in office and the “secret agenda” for the second term he’s trying to win and much more to conclude the nearly 16-minute speech the “nerd prom.” A term, as he put it, coined by D.C. insiders who never went to an actual prom. Funniest President ever? How do you think he did?

Snooki Wants Baby Before Wedding

‘I’m not even ready for it yet,’ the ‘Jersey Shore’ star tells MTV News of her wedding plans. By Jocelyn Vena Snooki and fiance Jionni LaVall Photo: WireImage Snooki may be planning for her baby, but she certainly isn’t planning her wedding just yet. The pint-sized reality starlet wants to welcome her first-born into the world before she officially becomes Mrs. Jionni LaValle . “I mean, I do have a dream wedding,” she confessed to MTV News on Thursday in New York City, with her “Jersey Shore” besties JWoww and Pauly D by her side. “But I definitely don’t even want to talk about it or think about it because I’m not even ready for it yet. I just want my baby first.” JWoww confirmed that the ever-expanding Snooki hasn’t put much planning into her wedding. “She’s in pregnancy mode,” Jenni added. In footage from “Snooki & JWoww” shown to the Media on Thursday, Snooki drops the bombshell on her friend that she is both pregnant and engaged. While it seems JWoww is momentarily shaken, one ultrasound later, everyone seems on board for the baby. Though, there are still plenty of antics to be had, and they include the ladies apartment hunting, torturing their respective beaus and, yes, even hitting up a club or two for a night of dancing. “I was very excited [when we found out about the baby]. I don’t know if I was more excited for what’s to come or the fact that we finally moved in together,” JWoww said of learning that there’d be another roommate in the house, growing inside her little friend. “But it’s not a dull moment. All of us, all eight of us [are going to help out]. It’s gonna have a lot of aunts and uncles.” Snooki said the pregnancy may not have been in the reality-show plan, but they made it work. “When we film, it’s all about reality and what’s going on in our life,” she said. “So it’s not like we’re going in there and staging things. It’s what’s really going on in our life. It just so happens that I got pregnant while [we were filming].” Related Photos Evolution Of: Snooki Snooki’s Brand-New Bling

Meek Mill, Wale Aim To Bring Hometown Vibes To Self Made, Vol. 2

‘You gonna hear D.C., Philly, the South, everything all in one,’ Meek tells MTV News on the ‘Bag of Money’ video set. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ricky Louis Meek Mill There are quite a few things that fans can expect to hear on Maybach Music Group’s upcoming Self Made, Vol. 2 compilation album. Chances are we’ll hear the infamous “M-M-Maybach Music ” drop a number of times, a few of Rick Ross ‘ patented grunts and, according to Wale and Meek Mill , a bit of their respective hometown vibes. “Me and Wale, we always talk all the time, and I told Wale I actually wanted to do a couple myself on a Philly type of vibe and he wanted to do something on a D.C. type of vibe,” Meek told MTV News from the video set for the new MMG single “Bag of Money” featuring T-Pain. The first Self Made album boasted a number of successful singles like Meek Mill’s “I’ma Boss” and Wale’s “That Way.” Each member of the roster contributes solo songs, while the others pitch in on the feature side. For example, Self Made, Vol. 2 ‘s first single, “Bag of Money,” is billed as a Wale single, though Meek Mill and MMG boss Rick Ross both contribute. Though Wale and Meek have their own plans to put on for their respective cities, Meek makes note that in the end, Rozay is the glue that brings it all together. “Ross is always gonna bring a lot to the table with Self Made. I’ma say he’s the ringleader of the whole Self Made movement, so we just wanted to bring our parts of the table to it so we make it…” Meek said, taking a moment searching for the right word until Wale pitched in and helped finish the thought. “Have a definitive sound,” he added. The two MCs estimate that they have close to 40 songs already recorded for the compilation and they weren’t quite sure which tracks would make the project. They did, however, promise a diverse sound. “You gonna hear D.C., Philly, the South, everything all in one,” Meek said. “We just want to give you a part of everything.” What are you expecting from Maybach Music Group’s Self Made, Vol.2 ? Amber Portwood Commemorates New Year’s Eve in Crowded Jail Cell

Young stars such as Selena Gomez , Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber rang in 2012 with terrific live performances last night. Countless others partied. Amber Portwood crashed on the floor of a jail cell. According to law enforcement sources, Indiana’s Madison County Jail did not do anything to mark NYE. Visiting hours were 7:00-7:30 p.m. Amber had none. At least she wasn’t alone. Due to overcrowding, Amber has been transferred out of the cell she shared with one other inmate and into a room with several others! Portwood’s prison pals’ convictions range from probation violations – which is what’s keeping Amber in jail for a month – to dealing a controlled substance. Nice. The accommodations were less than luxurious. As part of moving into that large room, instead of a bed, she slept on a vinyl mattress on the concrete floor. This is what happens when you’re arrested AND fail to comply with terms of your probation, kids … onerous tasks such as passing drug tests and obeying laws. As we look ahead to a new year: Glass half full : Things can only get better in 2012! Glass half empty : Maybe not. We said that a year ago after she spent Christmas in jail in 2010. She and Jenelle Evans often find a way to lower the bar.
