The debate over being called Black or African-American is an ongoing conversation where opinions change as often as possible. Actor and comedian Al Shearer reignited the debate in the offices of TMZ when he and a friend we caught leaving a restaurant. The Glory Road actor proclaimed proudly, “I’m Black!” A cameraman proceeded to ask his opinion on the label debate to which Al Shearer answered with, “Black is good. Black is beautiful.” Before Shearer could finish his sentence, his friend screamed, “Bring your black ass on!” Shearer then stated, “If you call me the N-word, you’ll get knocked out. But Black or African-American is cool.” Harvey Levin , the owner of the blog, was slightly confused as to why the label kept changing and stuck his foot in his mouth offering, “They keep changing it every five years!” His Black employees didn’t appreciate the comment too much and politely checked him. SMH… The nastiness of not one but two pedo-teachers at one L.A. elementary school has forced the administration to put the entire staff on suspension! 88 teachers and 40 support staff are being put on paid leave while police conduct an investigation. Mark Berndt the nasty mofo who is charged with feeding kids his man juice has been charged with committing lewd acts on 23 students and Martin Springer is accused of fondling two girls! One child allegedly fell victim to both sickos… The entire staff at an elementary school where two teachers were arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct will be removed while the school district investigates, the Los Angeles school superintendent said Monday night. Superintendent John Deasy told parents and media that 88 teachers and 40 support staff at Miramonte Elementary School are being replaced because a full investigation of allegations is disruptive and staffers will require support to get through the scandal. An entire staff has been trained to come into Miramonte’s classrooms to take over teaching for the time being, and there will be a psychiatric social worker in every classroom to help students and staff cope with any issues. “The last thing I’m worried about is a budget issue,” Deasy said. “The No. 1 thing I’m worried about is the students.” All employees will be paid during the investigation, district spokesman Tom Waldman said. Officials didn’t know how long the investigation will take. School officials canceled classes at the school on Tuesday and Wednesday as a cooling-off period, Waldman said. All current staff members will report to another location, where they will be interviewed, he said. Deasy emphasized that all staff members being brought into the classroom went through a “very rigorous screening process.” Deasy told reporters after the meeting that he was trying “to govern emotion, because that’s important.” United Teachers Los Angeles said in a statement that union leaders and staff have met with instructors at Miramonte. “We support a thorough, vigorous and fair investigation of all allegations,” the statement said. “It’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure that any and all allegations are thoughtfully and carefully investigated.” Maria Jimenez, 51, said the parents of children enrolled at Miramonte are divided over the move. “Some are in favor. Others are against it because they did this without advising us or consulting us,” she said. The move follows the arrest of two Miramonte teachers: Mark Berndt was charged last week with committing lewd acts on 23 children; Martin Springer was arrested Friday on suspicion of fondling two girls in his classroom. Berndt, who worked at the school for 32 years, was charged with committing lewd acts on 23 children, ages 6 to 10, between 2005 and 2010. The acts cited by authorities include blindfolding children and feeding them his own semen in his classroom in what children were allegedly told was a tasting game. Berndt, 61, remains jailed on $23 million bail and could face life in prison if convicted. Springer, 49, was arrested on suspicion of fondling two girls in his classroom. He was being held on $2 million bail. Springer taught at Miramonte for his entire career, which started in 1986, the district said. He taught second grade. The school board is scheduled to discuss firing him in a closed-door meeting Tuesday. Investigators said they know of no connection between the Miramonte cases. Berndt and Springer know each other and took their classes on at least two joint field trips in the past decade, according to the Los Angeles Times. The district set up a toll-free hotline on Monday to receive reports of suspected abuse at Miramonte, said school board President Monica Garcia in a statement. SMH. This is some isht. After facing criticism from leaders in the Jewish community, Bishop Eddie Long has apologized for the controversial ceremony at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church where Long was crowned a king and wrapped in Torah scrolls by Ralph Messer. My name is Katya and I’m 15 years old & I live in South Florida . On Wednesday February 2, 2012 my dad took me to the studio in Miami because the one and only Justin Bieber was going to be there. I called him during school to tell him and he knows that I’ve been through so much that he agreed to take me. I’ve been a belieber for 3 long years and I am obsessed with Justin. I have attended 2 concerts, flown to NYC for the book signing and entered millions of contests to try to meet him and never have actually met him. My little sister met him before I did in summer of 2010 and I was completely devastated. I kept asking why this would happen to me, when I was the one who knew everything about Justin and I was the obsessed one. All I wanted was to meet him even more. Thanksgiving was coming up and I heard about Justin’s book signing in NYC so I convinced my parents to take me and well lets just say that I waited in the rain/cold weather for 7 hours and when they did the head count for 1000 girls, the line got cut in front of me. I went to the hotel, fell asleep and when I woke up, it turns out they had let another 1000 girls in! I lost all the hope I had. People kept telling me, “good things happen to those who wait, be patient” but all I ever thought of was how I was never going to meet him. Then 2012 began and my New Years resolution was to meet him and on February 2nd it all payed off. I got to the studio around 7:50 and by 8:00, 10 girls and I were watching Justin Bieber walk over to us . I surprisingly was clam due to the fact that I kept thinking “this is a dream”. Things like this don’t happen to people like me. He came over with his hands in his pocket and said, “How’d you girls know I was here?” laughing and smiling! At this point, I couldn’t hold it in so I blared, “OMG Justin. I love you SO much! This is like a dream come true for me” and he replied, “Love you too” . Alfredo was with him and one thing led to another, Justin took all our cameras and handed them to Alfredo for a group photo. Justin got right infront of me but before Alfredo took pictures, Justin Bieber ducked and stuck out his hands, I GRABBED ON TO IT and Alfredo started clicking away!! We were behind the gate but nothing stopped me from being the happiest girl there! I was there until midnight and saw him skateboard like 4 feet away from me , and well we had a full on conversation! I had no thoughts, words or worries because I had finally met Justin Bieber. The next morning, the picture of us holding hands was all over Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, OceanUp, Miami Herald and even on Local News! So sad: Louisiana Tech running back Tyrone Duplessis died Thursday morning after medics responded to an emergency call at his off-campus apartment. Hazel Woods, the chief investigator for the Lincoln Parish coroner’s office, said the cause of death was not yet known and an autopsy is pending. Ruston police Lt. Tim Parker said authorities are not investigating at this time and are awaiting the coroner’s report. “Tyrone was a valuable part of this football family,” Bulldogs coach Sonny Dykes said. “This is a tragic, senseless loss, but he made a lasting impact on this team, university and everyone that knew him.” A roommate of Duplessis made the emergency call after the running back woke up with chest pain, Louisiana Tech spokesman Patrick Walsh said. The 21-year-old Duplessis, a third-year student from New Orleans, recently completed his sophomore season of eligibility. Dykes has informed his players of Duplessis’ death and the team held a meeting to discuss it. The university has also made grief counselors available to the team. “We were deeply saddened,” Louisiana Tech President Dan Reneau said. “Tyrone was not only a valuable member of our football program, but much more importantly, he was a valued member of the Tech Family. This is a painful loss for our campus community and our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.” “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tyrone and his family,” Athletics Director Bruce Van De Velde said. “Tyrone was a special young man who was loved and respected by the Tech Family.
